"Nestling between vineyards, orchards and the sea, this early-20C hotel-restaurant is tucked away in a lush garden dotted with hundred-year-old palm and magnolia trees. Like the Mediterranean vegetable garden that inspires Burgundy-born Alexandre Fabris's three Provençal-style set menus (one vegetarian), it is a real draw in itself. In his cuisine, the chef deftly juxtaposes textures and marries flavours. The restaurant is open from mid-June to mid-September for dinner only, when guests take their seats in the garden or beneath the pergola on the terrace." - Michelin Inspector

One of the worst experiences i have ever had in the south of France. First of all i paid them in full 3 months prior and believe me it was far from cheap. I wanted to relax and feel the vibe of this authentic city but the opposite happened, We drove six hours to get there and arrived at around 2 pm they refused to give us the rooms until 3 pm ! That was fine its their right but they did not give us the rooms until 4:30 pm !!!! Secondly the rooms they got us in were not air conditioned and look like storage rooms ! We asked to be moved to a better room and we were hassled to check out the next day even though we didn’t get into our rooms !!! Worst experience !!! Would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

We stay at this hotel every May and just love it - beautiful grounds and facilities, attentive staff, lovely spa, indoor and outdoor pool, delicious food. In short, nothing to complain about.. A real plus is access to the beach across the street and eating at their waterfront restaurant with a lovely view of the sea. We look forward to our annual visit.

An absolutely beautiful hotel in stunning grounds but a special mention to Nicholas at the pool bar. My wife, child and I spent a wonderful afternoon tasting cocktails and relaxing and his service was absolutely second to none. Thank you

The Palmeraie is not worthy of a Michelin start. The waiter split 5 full cocktails all over one of our guests at the very start of the meal, soaking their dress and underwear and leaving them sitting in a pool of Pina Colada. Accidents happen, and that’s ok, but what happened next was unacceptable from any restaurant let alone one that has a star. The staff did not apologise at all, not once all evening, they were unable to provide any alternative clothing (albeit they are a spa and presumably had lots of robes). They didn’t change the table cloth but only put cellophane on it, and a napkin on the cellophane, leaving the soaking table cloth in place. Our guest has to sit in wet underwear for her meal whilst wrapped in a shawl we had to argue to borrow from the hotel shop. They delivered the bill with a smile without any discount or apology, and when we questioned this they reduced the bill by €100 being about the cost of dry cleaning the dress, and less than 5% of the bill. How this place has a Michelin star is beyond comprehension. You would get better service from McDonalds. As a general rule of life you get what you pay for, but not at Chateau Valmer. Go to La Reserve if you want an exceptional experience … only go to Vamler if you have a brilliant sense of humour and want a comedy experience and like to have dinner wearing a poncho.

Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of disastrous, a stark contrast to what one would expect from a high-end accommodation. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with an indifference that persisted throughout our stay. The staff was consistently unfriendly and disinterested, showing no effort in hospitality or service. The rooms and common areas are in dire need of renovation and feel outdated. There is a complete lack of the charm and elegance expected from a property of this category. Instead of a luxurious ambiance, our stay felt like being in an impersonal dormitory, more reminiscent of a mass accommodation on Mallorca than a Relais & Chateaux hotel. It was an exceedingly poor decision to book this hotel. Fortunately, we have now moved to the Lily of The Valley Hotel, just five minutes away, where we are finally experiencing the quality and service we had originally hoped for. I strongly advise against subjecting yourself to the frustration and disappointment we endured.

We enjoyed staying at chateau very much, very nice ambiance, good service, quality food. If you are looking for relaxing holiday is definitely right place to choose. Expensive.

I almost don’t want to write this review and keep this hotel hidden from fellow travellers as it’s my new favourite hotel in the South of France. Loved it. Highly recommend.||Pro |- away from the maddening crowd |- pool and spa|- access to the beach |- lovely rooms |- incredible breakfast included ||Cons |- family style room should have had access to the garden or on bottom floor. Especially with kids this is such an important thing.

It was an ecological farm offering luxury experience for guests. We stayed a couple of days for vacation. The room was nice, however lack of drinking water. The staff was helpful, but many of them did not speak English well. Some service staff did not greet me when meeting. There was a Michelin 1-star restaurant by the hotel. The food was ok, but probably could not defend the price level. We tried dining twice at the restaurant. First time I got food poisoned, probably by the octopus carpaccio. There was a privat beach belongs to the hotel. We ate once at the beach restaurant and would not come back again.
