I enjoyed my stay at Chateau d' Ouchy in Lausanne, with my hubby. Lovely setting by the lake, and only a 2 minute walk to the Metro, even if you drop your hat while crossing the street lol. We had a lake view room on 2nd floor. Staff was cordial, friendly, and helpful. Marie at front desk (not sure of spelling of her name ) was so patient in helping us with seat reservations for 2 trains which we couldn't do on our mobile phones. |Breakfast was worth it, with a lake view, and made to order omelettes too. My mushroom, onion & cheese omelette was fluffy and yummy. My fav items from Breakfast buffet included fresh fruit, smoked salmon, a gluten-free meusli, and cheese, tho I would have liked more variety of cheeses. Self-serve espresso machine made good cappuccino..||Great shower w hand held shower head, and toilet separate from shower. One sink. My only complaint is the mattress was worn and not comfortable. But they did add a mattress pad when I complained, which helped. Our large double bed had 2 separate smaller duvets, 1 for each side of the bed, but as a couple, we would prefer 1 larger duvet. ||

Great Stay with a Few Minor Drawbacks.||Check-in was smooth and the staff were very friendly, though the process felt a bit too long for my taste. It seemed like they were aiming to provide excellent service, which I appreciate, but I personally prefer a quicker check-in. That said, the upgrade for my status was a nice touch.||The location is fantastic – the metro is just steps from the hotel and free with the hotel pass, which was very convenient.||Room:|| Quiet and impeccably clean|| Shower had excellent water pressure|| Bed was a bit too firm for my comfort, but that's personal preference||Breakfast:|| All the basics were covered|| The Bircher muesli was especially good|| Coffee (both in-room and at breakfast) tasted average at best.||The staff were consistently friendly, and I loved the outdoor seating area with its beautiful lake view. The hotel overall was spotless and clearly well-maintained.

This was such an amazing hotel. It was right by the lake so the views (even while eating breakfast) were stunning. The tram is located a mere 100 ft from the hotel so arriving from travel & moving around town was a breeze. The breakfast was amazing and had a great selection. The staff was the nicest I’ve met in Europe and provided me with plenty of recommendations for what to do and see. I would absolutely recommend and wish we stayed here longer instead of going to Zurich.

Amazing hotel, especially for being grandad as a 4 star hotel. The amenities, the location and the views are incredible. Right on the marina and central location with loads of cafes and restaurants in the area. Really nice facilities and amenities included. I would definitely stay here again for my next visit.

This was great stay in Lausanne. Right on the water, we had two connecting rooms and both had a view of the lake. The rooms were generous in size and well maintained. The only negative was that there was no pool service. The food and service at the Hôtel restaurant were great, albeit pricy.

Wonderful stay at this resort, which is located right on the lake. We had two connecting rooms of generous size, both with a Lakeview. The service and food was fantastic. The only negative was that the pool had no service. You had to go inside to get a drink:

We had a fantastic time at this hotel directly on Lake Geneva in Lausanne. The friendly, professional, and courteous reception we received on arrival; the large superior room, which was very well appointed, clean, luxurious, and comfortable, with perfect bed and linens and a Nespresso coffee machine; the friendly, professional, caring, well trained, and helpful staff everywhere we turned to at the hotel hotel; the great breakfast every morning with an expansive choice of food, and a very fine meal at 57°on our last night; the luxury features throughout the facility; the awesome architecture and history of the building; the perfect locale on Lake Geneva: everything was perfect, We can’t wait to recommend this magnificent Hotel to our friends and family, and to return ourselves!||Special shoutouts to Raphael in Reception, and to Clementine and Laura at 57°!||Thank you all!

An excellent hotel right on Lake Geneva. The rooms were clean and had plenty of space and the service was great. Marie and Mouna (sp?) provided world class service. Lots of food choices in the area. Definitely recommend for a stay in the area.

Yelp
In 1991 I stayed here for 9 days and ate dinner in the Terrace restaurant at the time.I ordered Quenelle de Brochet Nantua and a glass of good Swiss white wine. Enjoyed every bite of deliciousness. So now it's 2017 and I finally managed to get back there to hopefully repeat a great culinary experience. Alas, not to be. My wife had overpriced braised beef cheeks that you could get in the states called pot roast for $5-8.00 and just as good? But the Quenelle de Brochet was awful ! First the dumplings were freezer burned and all dried out, they developed a tough skin on top and were pretty disgusting. Then the chef? For what ever reason decided to put watery lobster/ shrimp broth over them to bake and puff. Too bad because the broth in itself had excellent flavor, but you have to thicken and cream this sauce so it adheres to the mousse. This chef's version is a $38 chf Disaster.I'm very disappointed and recommend sending the Chef back to cooking school.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel over the lake in Lausanne. Large rooms with beautiful mountain and water views. Great service and delicious room service.Minus one star for the lack of on-site gym: guests have to walk a (short) walk to a nearby hotel that has a tiny, old basement gym too. Could use some upgrade on that level.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great drinks, great location. Can't go wrong here. The bartenders even speak English and don't look at you funny if you don't speak French to them. Great experience overall.

Yelp
We chose a lake view room and were not disappointed; I had a hard time peeling myself away from the window to go to sleep. Be sure to bring a white noise machine as the noise from the lakefront can be significant at times, although it did seem to die down at a reasonable hour. I absolutely love Lausanne, and this hotel made the stay even more fantastic, if that's possible. We had originally booked a two night stay at a different hotel; one that I had stayed at 10 years ago. Sadly, the other hotel was quite awful. At midnight I began searching for another hotel and decided to try the chateau d'ouchy. We arrived at the hotel quite early (11:30 am), expecting to leave our luggage and come back later to check in. But, to our surprise the room was ready and we were allowed to check in early. I can't express how wonderful that was. My husband and I barely sleepy the prior night; we were tired and didn't feel too well, so it was a huge relief to be able to settle in our room (amazing by the way) and relax for a bit. The only slightly negative thing I could say about our stay relates to the impersonal demeanor of the staff. I am not someone that expects staff to fall all over me; quite the opposite. But, I do appreciate a genuine smile and warm attitude, which is not the case with this hotel. Definitely not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of so you can temper your expectations accordingly.

Yelp
Chateau D'Ouchy is located on the waterfront in Lausanne. I have walked by this hotel many times and have always wished to stay there. It was once a castle, but has since been renovated and turned into a hotel. There is one tower that was left untouched and is now a historical landmark. I have often seen this hotel come up on Internet travel sites with last minute deal bookings for 50% off. I recently saw such a deal and booked it for a night when our friends came to visit from out of town. It ended up being a fantastic deal because for guests who stay at the hotel you receive a transport card that you can use on all modes of transport within the transport zones surrounding Lausanne, also you receive free access to the Lausanne Palace Wellness Spa (see separate review regarding the spa facilities), and free WIFI. It is great to walk within the hotel and see how they blended the old characteristics of the castle with modern touches. The rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious and open. The toiletries provided in the rooms are high quality. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has a small spa area with separate times for women and men, an outdoor pool, and a fantastic terrace to sip a coffee when it is nice out. Every night at 6pm they have live music in the lobby area with drinks. The breakfast is not included in the price of the room, but was worth the extra 30 CHF. It is a buffet style, but with high quality tasty food to select from. The dining area is in a sunny open lit area and very enjoyable. Be sure to check out the great wooden staircase.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and location. The wine, service, and food were all delicious, but didn't wow us on every dish, thus not quite 5 stars. It was a nice splurge in lovely Lausanne on Lac Léman.

Yelp
At $550 a night in a very nice tower junior suite you expect (demand) more willing service. Turn down service, better than a bath tub shower and a table in the restaurant held for your optional use. Excellent location
