My husband and I stayed in Le Cagnard for three nights while visiting Nice and the experience was the highlight of our experience. We felt like we were living in a medieval castle (though a very comfortable one) perched on a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff and restaurant were excellent and very knowledgeable and helpful. Though the hotel is a little out of the way it was was worth the effort to travel back and forth each day. Highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel set in a medieval village/ like a fairy tale. Everything about it was exceptional. The staff were so warm and welcoming especially Philippe who went out of his way to make us feel special. He even showed us round the village and told us all about the area. A special mention to Hayot who was so warm and helpful. All the restaurant staff were professional and gracious. It really was a magical stay

Adorable hotel tucked inside a sleepy medieval village. The rooms are well-appointed and thoughtfully updated (AC and a tiny elevator), while still keeping that fairytale charm of the town. The restaurant was outstanding with beautifully prepared dishes and plenty of local character. The history provided during check-in was a nice introduction to the building especially after the brief but harrowing ride up the precariously narrow ancient streets.

I was there in July with my family of two smaller children. The rooms was great and very clean. The service was at the highest level throughout our visit from all staff. I am a very demanding customer in regards to food and restaurants, but this place had a very high level of service and the menu was very exiting compared to many traditional restaurants in the south of France. The food an wine list was exellent. Will definately go here again soon and will recommend it to all my friends.

Great location with stunning views and unforgettable setting. What separates this hotel from other destinations on our trip is the service: young gentleman at the reception was extremely helpful and professional. Bell service was outstanding - our luggage was delivered to hotel from the car we parked almost a kilometer away. Will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking to experience an old time charm of southern France.

Enjoyed the experience of staying in this 13th century medieval village. Hotel staff were kind and very helpful. Very service oriented. We splurged on dinner at the hotel. Awesome views and the meal was truly 5 stars..!! We did breakfast one morning at the hotel restaurant and that was not worth the $78 in US Dollars at all. It was good but for the amount of food at that price and it just being breakfast was not worth it. Menu was not clear at all. Last thing to be aware of is the parking. Do pay attention to the parking notes if you are driving but this is to be expected with staying in a 13th century village. Overall we had a Wonderful stay and enjoyed going to the top of the village for the views and enjoying the sunsets with dinner at the restaurants up there. We would stay here again.

We were made to feel very welcome from the outset and the friendliness and attentiveness of staff was a constant throughout our stay.||||The hotel is in a stunning location and it helps if you take a comfortable pair of walking shoes to navigate some of the steep inclines. It’s worth knowing that it’s around a 20 minute walk to the nearest train station, which is the easiest and most convenient way to explore the coast.||||The hotel itself is stunningly furnished and our room was absolutely perfect, enhanced by the terrace.||||Food was excellent and we had dinner twice at the hotel restaurant, living up to its Michelin recommendation.||||Without doubt, we’d love to go back soon.

It is an upscale hotel with a very competent restaurant. I didn't know cod could be this tasty! Service is incredibly attentive and friendly. For the price to quality ratio, there are probably more remarkable places (you're paying for staying in a castle) but my stay was memorable. Try walking the steep cobblestone street to the west (Mnt de France), a workout to remember in both directions!
