Château Neercanne

An absolutely unique location! Château Neercanne stands out not only because of its historic charm and breathtaking views, but especially because of the impressive cave system. Perfect for atmospheric wedding parties. As a DJ, I’ve rarely experienced such a magical setting. The acoustics and lighting in the grotto are phenomenal and create a truly unforgettable experience.

We did the fine dining experience and had a wonderful time. The service was perfection. The food was delicious and skillfully plated. I recommend checking out the cellar as well. A beautiful estate.

I ate at L'Auberge and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. I biked from Maastricht and it was the perfect spot for a rest. My waitress was extremely helpful in recommending excellent options. The view was beautiful and then I especially enjoyed walking through the gardens. I highly recommend.

The Château is a unique place! Excellent venue as a castle or as a place for garden-dinner but you can also enjoy the mystical dim and events in the cave of the quarry. There are traces of wine culture but I really miss the vineyards on the hillside. The view around is beautiful! The Neercanne Castle, the only terraced castle in the Netherlands. Also, it is home to a renowned, Michelin starred restaurant! The castle is first mentioned in the 14th century; since then it has been rebuilt several times. It owes its current Form to Baron Van Dopff, the military governor of Maastricht, who had a country residence built there in 1698. Behind this castle, marl blocks were quarried, probably to obtain building stone for the castle and its terraces, in an underground marl quarry: the Kasteelgroeve. The castle owner owned the quarry for centuries and had it mined commercially. But the inhabitants of the village of Kanne were also allowed to saw blocks for their own use, such as a new barn or renovation. This resulted in many small-scale clearings that give this corridor system a whimsical appearance.

Been part of a magnificent wedding, enjoyed the ancient beauty of the castle, the delicious food and wonderful company. Special, and so carefully organized.

An exceptional dining experience in every respect. Château Neercanne offers a truly memorable setting – the historic castle, its terraced gardens, and the view over the Jeker Valley create an atmosphere that is both elegant and serene. The ambiance is sophisticated yet inviting, perfectly balanced to make you feel welcome without any formality. Service was flawless: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Every member of the team ensured we felt cared for, all without being intrusive or overly formal – a rare and much-appreciated combination. We opted for the fish-based menu, which was nothing short of outstanding. Each course was beautifully presented and perfectly executed, with subtle flavor combinations that reflected real culinary finesse. The chef’s creativity and respect for seasonal ingredients were evident throughout. A place to return to – and to recommend without hesitation.

Have you ever eaten somewhere and thought how do they do this night after night . Seamless service, perfect pacing between courses , and impeccably prepared food. My dinner at the Chateau was actually my first time dining in a Chateau. My abroad bae knows how fancy my taste buds and dining approaches are so I was super excited when we finally arrived . A 9pm reservation on a Sunday seemed like the worst idea but I was slightly jet lagged so a late start to dinner was exactly what I needed to get my body in tune with the 6 hour time difference. We started our 5 course tasting with an amuse bouche. What followed were 5 amazing courses each better than the rest . We decided to order a bottle of wine instead of doing the pairings and the sommelier did an amazing job finding a wine to suite our picky tastes. He also made an additional recommendation for the meat eaters Dutch Venison course. The scenery , ambiance , meal, service and company will forever a great memory for me . I'm not sure if I'll ever get the chance to go back but I would gladly accept an invitation.

Ah! One of my fav places. 4 years ago it was chic, the idea of driving in an Aston Martin, wearing that little black dress you had hidden in the back of your closet just for a bottle was superb, now it is a bit different and yet the same. The view: Ooooh the killer view, how can I explain... nope I can't you must make that trip. The main dinning terrace is always booked, yes of course, but now there is another terrace in the courtyard. Here is the skinny! The food at the terrace is less sexy, the wine list is not offered but you can ask for it. I particularly didn't like the wine holder, it made the wine look and taste cheap, the same services that is being served in the main court should be extended. Water should always be offered Staff: The staff def eye candy on both end, the service is fantabuloso Toilet: stinky, yes it is old, but it doesn't have to smell like it, again the same service that is offered in the main court should be extended. Would i recommend it yes and no No: the chic-ness has gone Yes: the view is spectacular and not to be missed

This is absolutely not a place you should dine at casually or without reservations. However, if you're looking to treat yourself to an amazing meal with excellent wine pairings then this is where you should go. The food is delicious (if expensive) and the service outstanding. Definitely a meal to remember in a historic château surrounding by beautiful views. P.s. If you show up early you can grab a glass of champagne in the Cháteau's wine cellar/cave.

I have been to the Chateau twice for dinner now and have had amazing experiences both times! A friend had recommended this restaurant and it was so wonderful that we returned the next time we were in town. The first time I went with my boyfriend, who is in the F&B industry and was equally impressed. The second time we brought our friends for a double date and everyone had an amazing time. As a tourist visiting the area with food allergies, they were extremely accommodating and wonderful. Both times we had the tasting menu. The food is incredible, the wine pairings were perfect, the ambience is romantic and it's upscale enough to be an awesome night out while relaxed enough not to be pretentious. In good weather, make sure to take advantage of a glass of champagne on the beautiful terrace. Consider this a "must" on your next trip to Maastricht. You will not be disappointed!
