Google
First time here. I barely give anything 5 stars. Sitting at bar enjoying a flight. Staff very knowledgeable with honest recommendations. Willcox grapes but this winery works with a variety of other vineyards to great a great variety. A good place to stop in.Very dog friendly. Self tour the working winery. Very clean bathroom that documents their achievements and awards. Your reward for reading my review is they will credit the cost of a flight towards a bottle of wine- Score!

Google
This is one of the best wineries we visited while in Cottonwood. The charcuterie box was amazing. It came with a wide variety of fresh and dried fruit, crackers, meats, cheese, nuts, and olives. They include a ton of information about the wines on the bottle which really shows the quality they put in to some of their blends.

Google
Very good Arizona wine. Our server was very well educated and super helpful. The snacks are also good. A great way to spend an afternoon!

Melissa Colletti

Google
I honestly would give this place 10 stars if I could. Colton was our server and he did an amazing job of describing the wines as we had a tasting. He took his time to tell us about other places in the area and he made us feel at home. He made our experience that much more enjoyable. We ended up buying a bottle that we feel is the best red wine we’ve ever had. The Willy red wine!!

Google
Our hands down favorite tasting room in the Verde Valley! Amazing selection of wine, craft, and staff, not to be missed!

Google
I love the vibes here. 10/10 recommend visiting here! The staff is knowledgeable, upbeat, and fun, the wine is delicious, and the views are spectacular! Indoor and outdoor seating and a strong community vibes makes Tumbleweed my go-to tasting room in the area. I will be recommending this tasting room to every wine-lover I know!

Google
This place by far has all the tasting rooms and other wines blown away. The personal attention and people are phenomenal. Then there is the wine selection. You would think with all the varietals that they would seem to taste the same. Yet they are all unique. These wines are some of the few that can stand toe to toe with the big west coast reds. We have been coming here for years and have never been let down.

Google
We took the scenic route from Sedona to Phoenix and found this cool, little winery. They actually make the wine on site! You can sit inside but sitting outside with their heaters and blankets is really enjoyable. I'm not huge wine person but it seemed to taste great. The staff is super friendly and provided great recommendations regarding wine selection. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Yelp
Trying to decide which Verde Valley winery to stop in for a tasting? Well look no more, Château Tumbleweed is your place! We typically go to many of the wineries on Main Street in Cottonwood but this time decided to go off the beaten path, and what a great decision! Had the light wine tasting and a small charcuterie box. The small is definitely more than enough for two and Kris made an outstanding creation with great variety to complement the wine. The conversation with Kris, one of the owners as well as the label artist, was so refreshing and enlightening! Super cute location with a nice dog-friendly patio! I love that they do not bring all the wines out at one time on a flight board, like some of the wineries do, but present each individual bottle and go into depth about the background and the label. Kris brought out a few extras that were not on the tasting menu. The 2021 Cimarron Vineyard Picpoul Blanc and the 2021 Sierra Bonita Vineyard Grenache Blanc, went home to Flagstaff! Can't wait for some warmer days to break into these! I'm already planning my next visit with a couple of friends who can't wait to go, after all my ranting and raving, and my manager went last weekend off of my recommendation, and just loved it. Looking forward to trying the Deluxe Flight. Don't miss this gem in Clarkdale! Great wine, great vibes, good times! So, do what a tumbleweed does best, and roll into this little château!

Yelp
The best representation of Arizona wine in my opinion. From the grapes to the labels, they don't miss. Go check them out.

Yelp
We visited this cute and charming winery while visiting Sedona for several days. We ordered the white and red flights. The wines were quite good and we each ended up buying two bottles (Cousin Idd, Dr Ron Bot, The descendants, and Willy). We also had the cheese board, which was very yummy. Our servers were quite friendly, and it was pleasant sitting in their outdoor patio area. Would highly recommend visiting this tasting room.

Yelp
This place was wonderful! We stopped in for a tasting and really enjoyed the experience. Our server was welcoming and super attentive and the wines were honestly all good. We did the red blends flight and our favorite was 'the blend', but there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. They also let us add a taste of the rose, which was took home a bottle of. It was crisp, refreshing and not too sweet. Overall, a really chill atmosphere, super kind staff and great wine. We'll definitely visit again when we're back in the area!

Yelp
What a great find! Although the grapes are not grown locally (they are from Southern Arizona) the winemaking here is impeccable. You will find many classic varieties from Europe that you rarely see in the US, and every one of a dozen wines we tried was perfectly crafted. And what a wonderful host we had for our tasting! Even though he has only been with the winery for six months, he was very knowledgable and accommodating, providing us with great recommendations for not only wines, but also local sights and restaurants. This was our favorite stop in this wine country.

B M.

Yelp
Ok...this review is way overdue...because We've been coming to this little gem for years. If it's one tasting room you stop at in the cottonwood area, Tumbleweed is the place. They deserve every single award & notoriety they have been given. & if you get so lucky to have Kris serve you--then you've just won the lottery at Tumbleweed! It's always great to see amazing people succeeding...making amazing wine & an amazing business! Thank you for great wine & great times always Tumbleweed!

Yelp
I am slowly working through the local wine trail, and I never know which to select. This day, my mom kept talking about some old song called "Tumbleweed," so I decided this was a sign to try out Chateau Tumbleweed. And I am so glad that I did! Everything was tops at this location. I left with two bottles of wine, and I can definitely see myself making a return trip. The service was excellent. Our hostess was prompt and friendly, and she offered information when asked. She also let me try some wines not on my tasting flight so I could determine which white to take home. In the end, I chose a low residual sugar picpoul blanc and their red blend called Willy. It was hard to choose because the wines were all so good! I also love how the bottles provide so much information about the genesis of the wines. The dates of harvest, the vineyards from where the grapes came, the location, and the elevation are all listed, and then there is a lot of information about the processing that went into creating the wines, as well as the name of the winemaker. You can tell that a lot of care and intention goes into winemaking here.

Yelp
Great service and selections. They really know how to describe their wines, and they are excellent

Yelp
Girls' weekend, wine trip and this was our last and best stop. They were busy but found us a table, gave us generous tastings and extra charcuterie, to boot. Music was on point and views just made it the most special day. Definitely pick up a few of the food and reasonably priced bottles in the area.

Yelp
What a quaint & charming wine tasting bar in Clarkdale, AZ! We were on a mini vaca in Sedona recently & was disappointed to find out that a brewery in Sedona doesn't allow dogs on their patio. And talk about blessing in disguise for us to have discovered CT tasting room! We loved their wine so much that we bought two bottles of reds (one was red blend & I believe the other one was Graciano - unsure if it was Italian or Spanish wine. My college degrees are in Admin in Higher Education & Counseling; hence my ignorance w/ foreign languages, LOL!). Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time on their covered patio w/ our dog. And one of the owners, Chris was an outstanding wine pourer with her great sense of humor & charisma! The next time we head to Sedona, we'll stop by again.

Yelp
Yesterday, the second stop on our Arizona wine country adventure was to Chateau Tumbleweed. Chateau Tumbleweed sits along the side of 89A in the tiny hamlet of Clarkdale. We arrived just before 1 and there weren't any other customers. The two people that were working in the tasting room were so nice and just gave us amazing service. The Mrs. chose the red blend flight to taste. The wines poured were: 2019 Willy 2019 Dr. Ron Bot 2019 Le Blend 2019 Cousin Idd I chose the single varietal flight to taste. The wines poured were: 2018 Cimarron Vineyard Sangiovese 2018 Cimarron Vineyard Graciano 2018 Carlson Creek Vineyard Syrah 2018 Carlson Creek Vineyard Malbec I enjoyed a bottle of the 2019 Cousin Idd the night before, which was very good, but the single vineyard wines were incredible. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the Sangiovese and Dr. Ron Bot. As we were sitting outside enjoying our wine, a few other people showed up. One was an employee who had the day off and stopped by for a tasting. The other was a local that the two people working in the tasting room seemed to know really well. Aside from the amazing wine, Chateau Tumbleweed also has awesome merchandise. I like the artwork that is used on the bottle labels so I couldn't resist buying a t-shirt.

Rachel D.

Yelp
Had such a great time here, knowledgeable staff and interesting wines! We had the Light Whites and Red Blends flights.

Yelp
After spending a week in Cottonwood checking out all the wineries in the Verde Valley, Château Tumbleweed was the last one on our list. And frankly, I think we may have saved the best for last. While my wife enjoyed the whites, I had the reds. Both tastings were amazing. The staff was extremely attentive without being over bearing. The wines not only tasted delicious, but we're also very well priced.

Yelp
I came here for a wine tasting this past Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the unique atmosphere inside the building. It's more like a small bar with fun attentive bar tenders and friendly locals/wine club members you can talk to. Eva was great and very informative about the wine. I ended up liking the 2018 Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. We couldn't try their Grenache but we ended up taking a chance and buying a bottle anyway.

Yelp
We love tumbleweed. Their selection of wine is great! We visited on a Wednesday night and each had a flight. Our amazing server gave us extra pours / sample wines we were considering purchasing. First class service and made us feel incredibly special and well taken care of. We ended up with 2 bottles and the price of the flight goes towards the bottles of wine you buy, what an amazing deal! We had nice conversation with the staff and other guests sitting at the bar. We can't wait to bring friends and family here who are visiting the area. A must see while in the Verde Valley!
google avatar

Angie R.

Yelp
Had amazing conversations with the workers there. They were very attentive and the wine was amazing! We bought two bottles to take home. Definitely a fun little stop! Cheers!

Yelp
Looking for contemporary winery with a funky vibe near Sedona? Visit Chateau Tumbleweed! Chateau Tumbleweed was founded by four friends - two husband-and-wife teams - who, after working more than 30 combined years for other Arizona wineries, chose to create their own wine in 2011. After making their wine at the Four-Eight Wineworks Winemaker's Cooperative in Camp Verde from 2012 to 2014, they purchashed and converted an old building to become one of Clarkdale's first commercial wineries and tasting rooms. I enjoyed the wine tasting flights on their patio, which has panoramic views of the Verde Valley. Also, how funky are these Tumbleweed wine labels? Obsessed with the illustrations!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Reasonably-priced wine tasting with generous pours for $10-$15! All the wines we tried were wonderful! My favorite was the red dessert wine. They also have a charcuterie board on the menu. I debated for a long time whether to get it but ultimately didn't. I may have regrets because every other table got it and it looked lovely!
google avatar

Sue W.

Yelp
Currently, there is patio seating only. Not a ton of tables so there may be a wait. They do have a heater. Decent wine and great service. Tastings are nice pours, and they are freehand not from a measured pour spout. We bought 6 bottles. Everyone was very chummy, and we made some new friends. Fun place to hang out for an hour or two!

Nicole K.

Yelp
Stopped by this winery after touring Jerome. Great stop between Jerome and Sedona.Cozy, quaint, and charming. Our host was fantastic. He recommended wines and snacks for us. As well as other activities to do while staying in Sedona. We did 3 flights and went home with 3 bottles. We favored the reds over whites, they had wonderful full and medium bodied reds. Great price for flights!
google avatar

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and go here. It's an awesome vibe and the wine is delicious. We stopped in and did a reserve and general red flight. They were attentive for the tasting, while letting us time to enjoy. We had dinner in Cornville and had some of Chateau Tumbleweed wines--Cousin Idd and Willy. We found the wines enjoyable and local friends highly recommended this spot. We thoroughly enjoyed the flights. The Shiraz is lovely and bold, but the Earth Cuckoo is a delicious blend, very smooth. We ended up walking out with that and a Cousin Idd. There are board games and gnomes. Just hang. It's a spot to enjoy.

Yelp
Love me some wine and love me some great service! Tumbleweed has both! My friends and I stopped here to do some tasting. Unforch, they do not do tasting on busy weekends with Covid but the servers were kind enough to give us tastes before we committed to full or half glasses. The large fruit and nut plate was very good, not much meat but there was a good amount of cheese and such. I loved their Rose which was dry and tasty. Awesome winery and great outdoor patio. Give it a try!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Stopped in for a wine tasting and bottle of wine. Service was good and they are taking adequate precautions for Covid. The outdoor patio area was empty and nice for sipping wine. Service was great. The Cousin Idd bottle is what we went with and was very good.

Yelp
Hidden Gem! The Verde Valley is blessed with some outstanding winery tasting rooms, but one that is truly exceptional is Chateau Tumbleweed! Their wines are all so good, and offer an exceptional variety. Lovely patio,(dog friendly) with views of the red rocks . Warm and friendly staff, where locals frequent. This one is should not be missed!
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
I love this place. The view beats all. The owner Chris who creates the labels. She is gorgeous! The wine is the best in the area. Please visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I could have SWORN I'd reviewed this place before. That's because it's my favorite winery in Arizona! And Arizona has some fabulous wine (and around 80+ wineries to boot). Chateau Tumbleweed makes truly delicious wine with a sense of humor and a wonderful sense of fun. Their branding is creative and unique, and the owners and staff are friendly, laid back, and welcoming. But - while this place is a lot of fun, they take their wine seriously. They're pumping out one of my favorite Rose' wines in Arizona, and their Malvasia Bianca and White Blend (the Descendents) are super delicious and crisp for a hot summer day. I'm not much of a "red gal" but theirs are delicous and thougthful and there's really something for everyone to enjoy here. Get yourself a bottle, grab a snack, and enjoy the outdoor patio - you'll be glad you came!
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
In the area for a bachelorette and we went here today for some wine tasting. Our server (I wish I remembered his name but he was from Pennsylvania) was awesome and very friendly + knowledgeable. Personally I got the deluxe flight and my favorite was the Refosco or the Mourvedre. As a designer I loved seeing the art work done by the owner's wife incorporating the tumbleweed
google avatar

Yelp
Good hospitality is so hard to come by anymore and last weekend Lou gave us the best service. He was so attentive and friendly, and the simple gesture of offering blankets for the humans and water for the dog went such a long way. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back. Oh yeah- the wine was good too!

Lisa H.

Yelp
My friend and I drove out here from anthem on a whim and it was definitely worth the drive. The service and the line were both wonderful and the atmosphere is like being at a friend's house - relaxed and comfortable.
google avatar

Kimmy J.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and amazing staff! My mom and I didn't know we needed reservations but asked if they could accommodate us on the patio, and were so happy that they could! We had the most relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. It was a lovely view on a gorgeous day. The snacks were delicious and we loved the wine! The staff took such good care of us. We didn't have our dogs with us but it is dog friendly which is great, I love pooches :) We would go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ryan W.

Yelp
Loved our experience at Chateau Tumbleweed! It was our last stop after a few tastings in Cottonwood and was by far the best tasting we had. The service was incredible, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the pours for the tastings were very generous. The wine was delicious! Can't wait to come back soon!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Great wine, service and views! The tasting flights were fun and they brought a little book to read about the wines you were trying. Even though we were there close to closing time we had excellent service that did not feel rushed, got a few bottles to go. Although we didn't eat there was a few items for snacks. Would definitely recommend checking this place out! Patio was dog friendly as well!
google avatar

Mimi M.

Yelp
Chateau Tumbleweed always has amazing wines. It has a very comfortable tasting room as well as a lovely patio area that is dog friendly! All the servers are friendly and make your experience fun. In my tasting last week, my mother and I were served by Jake, who really made the experience! You'll always enjoy a great tasting at CT!!!
google avatar

Louis D.

Yelp
This would be my second time visiting this fairly new tasting room and winery located just outside of Cottonwood, AZ, in the town of Clarkdale, AZ. This quaint tasting room has a cool vintage furniture/decor feel. The wine labels have to be one of the most unique and comical artwork that I have ever seen and love! But more importantly the selection of locally flavored wines is what I look forward to! I do like how you can have a flight of white, reds or a mix of both to wake up the palette. I personally enjoyed the "Le Blend" and the "Rose" tasting that I had to take home those bottles. All in all a great experience that I highly recommend if you are in the Cottonwood area tasting local wines!
google avatar

Alison B.

Yelp
Good wine and great setting. This newer winery location is a fabulous spot with excellent wines. We loved the Cimarron Syrah, lil' Frankie and the Verdelho. Would have rried them all if we could. We will definitely come back. This is one of the best places to enjoy both wine and a bite. Order the cheese and fruit bent box. So good and really generous size for a snack while you enjoy a glass with a nice view. We will be back!!!
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Fine wine with an amazing view out on the patio. They'll even offer heaters and blankets if the wine doesn't keep you warm enough.
google avatar

Treena C.

Yelp
Love everything about Chateau Tumbleweed! Very quaint and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are generous with their tastings, and very knowledgeable. They offer a glass of water along with the tastings which not many other wineries in the area did. And about the adorable, and humorous labels- you can buy shirts, hats and posters that feature your favorites. I bought two! If you find a wine you like -and you will- buy a few bottles as they may run out. They have one of the nicest rosé right now.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
First stop on our wine tour! Loved this cute wine tasting bar! Our waitress was awesome & every wine we tried we loved! I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Elias E.

Yelp
Delish wine tasting location outside Cottonwood - what a treat we happened to drive by. Good AZ wine, generous pours, great outdoor patio, and very COVID safety conscious. Highly recommend! Dog friendly too!

Chris S.

Yelp
If I could give more than five stars I would. We stopped here for a wine tasting and ended up with a delicious charcuterie board and some of the best wines I've had in this area. Our server was a lot of fun and made some great suggestions for extra tastings. Will definitely be back again!

Onetta R.

Yelp
Chateau Tumbleweed has great wine. WE truly had a great eating and sipping experience out on the patio area. The servers were awesome. They waited on customers with professionalism, politeness, and patience. The cheeses, crackers, fruit and chocolates were amazing as well. History of some of the wines was shared to make the experience even more interesting. Will definitely go back!!!

Susan P.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience at Chateau Tumbleweed. When we arrived, we were given the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We definitely wanted to be outdoors, but it was chilly. No problem! A portable heater was brought to our table along with two serapes. We then enjoyed the red tasting flight and the reserve tasting flight along with a charcuterie plate for two. All of the wines were good, but we especially liked the Mourvedre and the Dr. Ron Bot. The charcuterie plate was huge and had a wonderful variety of crackers, cheeses, salami, nuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit, and chocolate. The service was fantastic--so friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. This was by far our most pleasant stop on the local wine trail.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience at Chateau Tumbleweed today as always. Some of our favorite AZ wines and Erica made the time extra special. You won't be disappointed when you visit Tom & Karen
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this little place. The owners/staff are very accommodating and genuine. The artwork on their labels is to die for. The wine is delicious. I never leave without purchasing a cute tank top or poster!

Yelp
My husband and I visited Cottonwood and Clarkdale on our year long trip around the US, and came to Tumbleweed from a recommendation from our Airbnb host. It was a rainy day, so we were looking for something to do indoors, and we were pleasantly surprised to find out there were so many wineries in AZ! We shared a red and a white tasting, and decided to get a glass of the Will E. Cox before heading out. We chatted with Jeff, who was so nice, and took the time to answer our questions and chat a bit about our travels. We loved the atmosphere here because it felt more homey and less stuffy like other tasting rooms can feel. Great wine, warm atmosphere, and super nice people who work here! I actually just wrote about Drinking Locally in Arizona in my blog that I'm keeping if you want to read more about it! https://tandaintheusofa.com/2017/03/06/drinking-locally-in-arizona/
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Chateau Tumbleweed is located right off the highway, very easy too spot. Tumbleweed was generous in providing a wine tasting for a large group. Wine; the different wine selections were delicious. But my favorite was the Will E Cox blend, would highly recommend in trying. Service; what can I say about the owners Joe and Kris, they were amazing. They talked and chatted with all of us in the group and were very knowledgeable in regards to their blends and wine. Can't wait to go back
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Delicious wine, awesome people (Kris, et all), and a great atmosphere. Our favorite place in the Verde Valley!
google avatar

Ms A.

Yelp
Love the wines here and the experience. My second time and the staff is super friendly and even remembered us from two years ago!! We did a flight of red blends and loved everyone of them. Two of us joined the wine club and we're very excited about it! Bonus: really creative art on their labels.

Yelp
Perfect afternoon! Outdoor tasting & charcuterie plate with a beautiful view on tha patio. Fabulous service from 2 well knowledgeable servers. It felt almost normal after isolating for 5 months. So well managed and clean! Servers wore maks & sterilized tables & chairs after patrons left. Also sterilized the entrance door. Dogs are welcome & given treats & water. Wines were lovely! Many blends by the glass & varietals by the bottle. Highly recommend a stop!
