We had an amazing anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend for a French cuisine experience.

We wanted a French Restaurant to celebrate our 42 anniversary since we celebrated our first and a dozen other anniversaries with French food. Being from Texas we were very lucky to find this small, romantic restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent

Google
wonderful French restaurant for a quiet dinner with good friends and conversation. wide array of appetizers and main courses, plus wine 🍷 so everyone will find something they like. not trendy, packed or lively... and that's fine too, but quiet dinners are also good.

I’ve always loved French cuisine, so visiting Chateau West has been on my list for some time. My husband, his mom, and I finally went for Christmas lunch, and it did not disappoint. First, parking was a breeze with a lot conveniently located next to the restaurant. The service was excellent—our waiter was knowledgeable, polite, and attentive throughout the meal. Appetizers: • Seared Foie Gras: Delicious, especially when paired with the dried fruit in each bite. • Escargot: A classic, well-prepared dish—perfect if you’re a fan of escargot. • Smoked Salmon: Good and well-executed. Entrees: • Duck Breast with French Beans and Potatoes: Perfectly cooked and flavorful. • Blackberry Salmon with Vegetable Risotto • Filet Oscar Desserts: We shared the dessert trio, which included: • Pear Belle Helene: Light and refreshing. • Chocolate Moulleux: Rich and indulgent. • Vanilla Crème Brûlée: Classic and perfectly creamy. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience from the appetizers to the desserts. Chateau West lived up to the hype, and I’m already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend!

If I lived closer to this establishment, I would probably be there every week. Everything that we had was delicious and seasoned extremely well (I hardly used any salt, which is quite unusual for me). French onion soup, smoked salmon, shrimp saffron appetizer and tomato bisque were all incredible, as were the beouf bourginon and grouper special. Creme brulee was one of the best I've ever had, besides my own, of course, which I've been told by many, is the best they've ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant, as the chefs are excellent and service is very professional.

I have wanted to come and check out Chateau West since I moved to Hillsboro Village, since I drive by it every time I get off the highway. This cozy restaurant is tucked away right off the highway with plentiful parking and handicap accessible access. Upon entering the restaurant (which looks to offer a small amount of patio seating when the weather is right) you are immediately breath taken by high vaulted ceilings, soft warm light, a bar against the far wall with extensive wine selection, and well dressed staff serving and seating guests at equally well dressed tables. We had a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night at 7pm and probably wouldn’t have had to wait long if we just showed up, but it was nice to be seated immediately. Fresh bread and water is served upon sitting down at your table. Our server’s name was Sam and he was an absolute sweetheart! He catered to our every need with a smile and breezy quips that made us laugh and smile. The menu was a great size and most of the appetizers appealed to me more than the entrees! So my mom and I decided to order a few appetizers, one at a time, very European style! We started with the house smoked salmon. It was tender, perfectly smoky, and complemented by the crème fraiche, capers, and egg. Sam made sure we were ready for our next course before bringing it out which truly made this an experience instead of your normal dinner out. Our second appetizer choice was the goat cheese and fig fondue which was served with baguette bites. The fondue was creamy, perfectly melted and stayed nice and hot with a tea light candle lit beneath the pot. Sam offered to bring us more baguette when we ran out to finish off the fondue, but we knew we had more food coming! So we opted to continue on to the roasted beet salad. It was fresh, crisp, and the fried goat cheese medallions added a perfect hot and crunchy component to this dish. After our appetizers, we decided to split an entree. Between the coq au vin and boeuf bourguignon, Sam recommended the beef, and we were not disappointed! He was kind enough to split our dishes so when we finished, I was thankful for the leftover bread from the beginning of dinner to sop up some of that delicious gravy. At the end, even though we were no longer hungry, I spotted a dessert trio that included vanilla pears, crème brûlée, and a flourless chocolate cake. It was the perfect way to end the night with some sweet little bites! This was an incredible experience, from the great atmosphere and the delicious food all the way to Sam’s excellent service. I cannot wait to come back and try more of the delicious menu! Those oysters are on my list!! Thank you Sam and the Chateau West team 💖

I was impressed by the upscale ambiance and overall vibe of the place. The decor is stylish and inviting, making it a great spot for a special occasion or a nice night out. I ordered the steak tartare for starters, and while the flavors were on point and the dish was beautifully presented, I was unfortunately surprised to find a bug in the lettuce. It was a bit off-putting, and I expected more attention to detail given the restaurant's upscale nature. Despite this hiccup, the rest of the meal was enjoyable, and the service was attentive and friendly. I would consider giving it another try, as everything else was quite good. Just a suggestion: perhaps a little more diligence in the kitchen could elevate the experience even further.

Maybe it was an off night…will not be returning. Went to celebrate our anniversary. Very disappointed. Server and the service was fine, but the food was honestly terrible and that says a LOT coming from us because we’ve both worked in the restaurant industries and understand how it can be. Not long after we sat down THE CEILING LEAKED water all over our table so we had to move to a different table. Awkward. We started with the french onion soup. It was actually the best part of the entire meal. I got the blackberry salmon with vegetable risotto… yet another mistake. The salmon was crunchy? The risotto seemed like it came out of the freezer. My girlfriend ordered chicken with the vegetables… a stew came out? With bacon? She doesn’t eat pork and the menu didn’t say anything about pork. My drink didn’t appear to have any alcohol in it.. after the ceiling leaked all over us, it could’ve at least had alcohol in it. I paid $107 for what was quite literally the worst experience we’ve ever had together. We left early, didn’t eat over half of our food. Still tipped 20%. Wanted to ask for literally anything to be taken off the bill just so we could justify going to get dessert somewhere after but we couldn’t wait to get out fast enough. The only reason this isn’t 1 star is because our server was very friendly. Not sure how the reviews are so high. This was a waste of time, money, and our anniversary.

Yelp
Ok, I love French food and have been to many so I may be a little more critical than other reviews on this place. I like the look of the unique architecture of the building and the interior design is fine, if maybe a little much with the French imagery. The food. The menu is comprised of mainly the most well-known French dishes. My wife had the Beef Bourguignon, which was good. The beef was fork tender and the sauce was savory and rich. She also got the polenta on the side, which was excellent. I would have liked to seen this dish served over polenta, potatoes or a puree, which is customary. I had the Bouillabaisse Marseillaise. The broth was the highlight, as both the shrimp and lobster were both pretty overcooked. Especially the lobster which came out curled and rubbery. However, I still like the flavors , although a little red pepper flake would be a welcome addition to the broth as it had zero spice. At all. The Escargot was respectable but the complementary bread served was excellent and probably the most authentically French thing on the table. Crusty on the outside with a soft and pillowy interior. They even gave us two loaves to take home as it was near closing when we left. The service was as good as I've ever seen. Attentive and charming waiter brought my wife a caramel lava cake when he found out it was her birthday. 10/10 service reminiscence of a much more expensive restaurant. Overall, I will say this. Is it the best French food I've ever had, no. Is it really good French food for its price point, absolutely. The whole meal was just under $100 (no wine), for a birthday dinner I consider that pretty good as I've spent 4x that much in other French bistros. If you're looking for decent French food in Nashville that's not going to break the bank, you could do a lot worse. And you could definitely get worse service. 3.9/5 or 7.7/10

Yelp
I do not know where to start. This was the actual worst dining experience I've ever had. I feel exceptionally bad for the staff. There was ONE server for an almost entirely full restaurant. She also doubled as the bartender and expo. We got better service from the busboy than we did from our server. We didn't get greeted until 30 minutes after we were seated, and could barely understand our server because the restaurant was so packed and loud. We were never offered any drinks and were immediately rushed into ordering our food. The tables were so close quarters we could hear every word that the people next to us were saying. The food is another monster in itself. Do not get food from here. There's better food at McDonalds, I promise you. I paid 36 dollars for 4 tough scallops and cold cheesy rice. The menu is very misleading and is too pricey for the quality of the food you get. It was my birthday dinner and when I booked the table it asked if it was for a special event and I indicated as such. It was never once brought up or acknowledged while we ate. When the time came for the check, we looked all around for our server and discovered that she was COOKING SOMEONES FOOD IN FRONT OF THEM. In all other circumstances would be fine, except for the fact that she was the ONLY person working. The check took at least 20 minutes to be processed because she went and cooked ANOTHER meal in front of someone. Overall, don't go here unless you want to be disappointed.

Yelp
#fatjared say...it had everything for my wife and I that we were wanting or expecting, except for the wow factor. Not perfect, so not 5 stars, but a fun place. When I review restaurants I stick to a single rule, "If I have any complaints whatsoever it's not 5 stars." 5 stars on Yelp is perfect, so if I have a complaint then the experience as a whole was not perfect. Chateau West was a place we have driven by several times, and I always made the comment that we should try it out, so finally for a long anticipated date night we did. Immediately I was actually concerned because the place was darn near empty. Then I remembered it was a Tuesday night, and people rarely go to restaurants like this on a Tuesday. They of course brought out a french baguette, and it was warm too, so kudos there. I don't know what it is with our ordering, but several times we start the meal with the absolutely best thing, and it gets progressively less amazing as the night goes on. If you come to Chateau West make sure you order the Pan Seared Foie Gras. Never have I had Foie Gras prepare that way, and the meat basically melted in your mouth. No chewing needed. Absolutely phenomenal. We coupled that app with the cheese fondue, and it was good, but all the fruit sank to the bottom and the goat cheese flavor was not as strong as I thought it would be. Escargot is a must, and while not as good as the Foie Gras, was exactly what I wanted from the order. They threw in a couple extra as well which I was all about. The applewood smoked salmon was basically a deconstructed Lox and Bagel, but the smoky flavor on the salmon was amazing. With the sauce and capers and onions and it truly is an almost perfect bite. Scalloped potatoes were a bit bland to me. Needed salt badly, the vegetables were a good portion and not doused in butter which I liked, and the bouillabaisse was a home run. Plenty of seafood, flavorful broth, a great entree choice for us. Basically all the food was above average, but only the one dish was standout to be exponentially better than expected. Finally dessert, and man do I love that they have a sampler. Little bites of creme brulee, poached pear, chocolate cake, and then threw in some homemade pastry as well. I'm a huge sweets guy, and that chocolate cake was absolutely amazing! The one thing that did surprise me was the cost of the food. These days I felt like a meal like that would have been almost double what we paid. You can tell they know what they are doing, and don't try to rake you over the coals on cost. I honestly just feel like shrinking the menu a little more and doing a small reno on the place would be the way to go. Would feel more modern, a bit more intimate, and would allow for perfect on the cooking of each dish. Overall, thinking back, this was a great night, we had so much fun, and the food was awesome. Not perfect, and no wow factor, but I would go back in a heartbeat if it was suggested. Thanks Chateau West!

Yelp
Expect to be stuck with the crappiest table they can give you for a party of two. And if you actually ask nicely for a different table because there's no one in the restaurant yet... the answer is they won't give you a bigger table. We had luggage to store and the waiter had the audacity to tell us to store our luggage outside.. but to keep an eye on it so it wouldn't disappear. Nice. We opted not to stay, and they should have been fine because they clearly don't have a table available for us. So they went back and marked us as a no show. Incredibly not cool. There's so many other great restaurants in this town. No point sitting at a terrible table in a shady area of town.

Yelp
Chateau West- go go go!! We had an incredible dinner last night at Chateau West, and I'm kicking myself I haven't been there sooner. Food was incredible (and I mean like REALLY good), service was fantastic, and the atmosphere is so nice, beautiful space. Also reasonably priced for the quality, in my opinion! We, as party of 2, had a bottle of wine, escargot, spinach salad with bacon vinaigrette, beef bourguignon, and lamb chops, and a pear ice cream dessert, all for less than $150 and we left quite full. I can stop thinking about how tender and flavorful the lamb and beef were Highly recommend this neighborhood gem!!

Yelp
Picture this: a night at Chateau West, a Nashville gem that has been serving up French-inspired delights for years, thanks to its friendly Turkish owner who seems to have mastered the art of culinary fusion. Stepping into the restaurant, you might think you've accidentally entered a time machine that transported you straight to a French chateau. The interior is dimly lit, creating an ambiance that whispers, "Ooh la la, welcome to a whole new world." French paintings grace the walls, including one of the Eiffel Tower, which is probably just there to remind you that you're not actually in Paris. Now, let's talk about the staff. They're so attentive that you'd think they're members of a secret society trained to make sure no glass goes empty and no plate sits lonely. And hey, after reading those previous reviews that warned of being ignored, you're feeling like royalty with all this attention. Ah, the menu. You're adventurous, so you decide to go all out. You and your date embark on a culinary journey with the Beef Bourguignon, which is basically a fancy way of saying "beef stew that'll make you say 'ooh la la' again." Then there's the Fish Soup of Marseille, giving you a taste of the Mediterranean without the need for a plane ticket. Oh, the escargot. The classic "eating snails" experience that sounds much more intimidating than it actually is. You're feeling pretty sophisticated while savoring these little guys, but let's be honest, you're just relieved they don't start crawling off your plate. Beef tartare enters the stage, a dish so raw that even your conversations start feeling a bit undercooked in comparison. And for dessert, crème brûlée arrives with that satisfying crack of the caramelized sugar. It's like the culinary version of breaking through a caramel shield to reach the creamy treasure beneath. Now, here's the fun part - the wine. The staff's recommendations are as honest as your grandma's opinions on your outfit choices. They steer you toward wine pairings that don't break the bank, and even point out the one that complements each dish best - turns out it's not always the priciest option. You're left feeling like you've just unlocked a new level of culinary trust. So, there you have it. A night at Chateau West filled with French charm, Turkish hospitality, and a whole lot of "ooh la la" moments. You're already planning your next visit, and who knows, maybe next time you'll start practicing your Turkish or French - just to keep things interesting.

Yelp
First time visiting, everything was amazing!! Salmon and risotto was delicious and the chocolate moulleux for dessert. The staff and service was above and beyond, overall great experience!!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to Chateau West for our anniversary dinner, and it was a fabulous experience! We started with Prosecco and fondue, and the fondue was out of this world. I have not stopped thinking about it. For dinner I had the blackberry salmon paired with a glass of red wine that was recommended by our waiter. Both the salmon and the wine were perfection. I had a few bites of the lamb my boyfriend ordered, and it was almost amazing. For dessert we split the Trio. All three were delicious. The service was absolutely incredible. I also appreciated that there was ample parking. I will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Food was amazing but service left room for improvement. We felt super rushed from the moment we sat down. Our server kept pressuring us to order every 2 minutes, like ma'am I have never been here before I need more than 2 minutes to read the menu. Then when we were halfway through our meal looking to order drinks our server was nowhere to be found. We also went on a day when they had a limited menu, which we were not notified of when booking the reservation or when we checked the website. The limited menu was packed with dairy selections, making it pretty much impossible to order food without a ton of modifications. I ordered the berry plate for dessert, and still can't get over how it was half whipped cream half berries. Which for someone who was ordering the berry plate to avoid dairy it was a disappointment. But the food itself was really good, just the atmosphere and service left us feeling meh after the experience. So 4 stars overall with the food carrying all of the positivity.

Yelp
I really thought I would give this place a second shot - I'm so sad, disappointed and let down with the hype around this restaurant being voted as highly as it is. Once again I ordered the French onion soup - I seriously think this is microwaved and put under the grill at the last minute. The duck is absolutely terrible - no seasoning what so ever and tasted disgusting and old. Not one piece of crispy skin to be seen - the crème brulee was ok. I gave this place another shot as I love French food but the service and atmosphere of the place matches the food - lack of passion, bland and just plain awful. I will not be dining there for a third. Really sorry I spent hard earned money there. The bread I was given was also stale and the waitress - so all in all a major let down.

Yelp
Chateau West is a cute chateau (hence the name) nested in the west end of Nashville. I went for an anniversary dinner and it was amazing from start to finish. Our reservation on opentable I commented the reason for dining and they set us up with 2 glasses of champagne to start the night as we sat down. Starter wise we chose the honey Brie and truffle oil fondue. It came out in a cute little black cauldron and a little candle warmer. Highly recommend. For our main meal I got the Spiced Lamb Rack and my date got the Blackberry Salmon. We usually trade a few bites and both dishes were very good! For dessert we ordered the Dessert Trio which was a fantastic way to taste a few of their great desserts. I also paired this with a port from their after dinner drinks! Had a great time and will definitely be back!

Yelp
There really is nothing like Chateau West in Nashville. Spectacular service and great food everytime. A calm, peaceful place filled with good people waiting to make your experience special. Dino, Irhan, Oxana, and Anastasia went out of their ways to make tonight special. The food was fresh, succulent and just plain spectacular. Thank you!

Yelp
Solid French bistro food with outstanding service. Wait staff are friendly, efficient, and attentive. Food is solid with good sized portions. Parking is a little tight and the tables are a little too close to each other. Recommend it.

Yelp
I have now been to Chateau West twice. I had a good experience both times, but the second time was better in terms of food. I was a little nervous the first time I went because it was pretty dead inside. It made me think it wouldn't been good. The second time it was very busy, so busy that with a reservation we still had to wait a bit. The food items we got the first time: French onion soup- so yummy! I LOVE French onion soup Filet- only okay. I would pass on this as there are better dishes to choose from risotto- I didn't love this. It didn't have much flavor and there were veggies in it that I didn't expect. I prefer a classic risotto without too much in it Second time: French onion soup- it was as good as we remembered Brie fondue- so yummy! It came with baguette and I actually thought it tasted better on its own. I do wish we had other things to dip in it instead of just bread. We did keep it on the table and I dipped my dinner potatoes and green beans in it Duck- so tender and yummy! I took the berry sauce on the side. I think it was better without the sauce. The duck was also good dipped in the fondue Beef- tender, comforting, filling. It's one of their signature dishes Dessert- we did the trio. I love the chocolate dish. The creme Brulee is also good! We will definitely return!

Yelp
Delicious appetizers, we had Saffron Shrimp and Fondue w Brie, honey and truffle oil. Cleaned our plates on Scallops, lamb chops and the Filet. Yummy dessert trio too. Everything cooked to perfection. Gorgeous ambiance and excellent service. This meal made our Christmas very merry.

Yelp
As nice of a French restaurant as you can get a Nashville. Outside, it looks like a reconverted old IHOP, but quite tastefully done. The waitstaff is top notch, very helpful and pleasant. The cuisine is average. Don't expect a first class French restaurant; you'll have to go to New York or DC for that. The fare is good, though short of authentic French flavor; the escargot is excellent; the Beef Bourgogne was tasty, but more like an expensive frozen meal that was served on good porcelain. The bread and desserts were the best they could be. The wines are excellent. It's a great treat for locals, but if you're more worldly and sophisticated, you may leave somewhat disappointed. Then again, it would still be a good place with friends.

Yelp
We enjoyed our return lunch at Chateau West, right off Exit 1 I-440. Enjoyed a Caesar Salad, Spinach and Bacon Salad, Steamed Mussels, Cream of Mushroom Soup (the special), and a personal favorite: Goat Cheese and Roasted Beet Salad with goat cheese fritters and candied pecans. Served with a well-made chilled Martini. Tasty and artfully presented. More intimate than casual dining. Private parking lot, and some construction nearby seemed to spill over into the lot during lunch time. Next time might sample the desserts. Some limited outdoor dining too. There is a Happy Hour, Drinks and Food. Hours are not posted. Plan to return.

Steve W.

Yelp
Had a really delicious lunch here. This was my first time in the restaurant and just love the ambience. Our server was very nice and attentive and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed the French soup, blackberry, salmon, and then a delicious dessert. I will definitely return and especially want to try their very nice happy hour.

Yelp
It's truly surprising ! Every dish was delectable ... French onion soup, escargot, scallops, filet ... cooked to perfection. But le piece de resistance ... Crepes Suzettes! Thx Ili ... great job !!!

Yelp
This place was amazing. Food was excellent, service was equally as amazing. Everything we ordered was great.

Yelp
Without doubt, the best service for restaurants from miles around. Let's first avoid that which seems to be 'de rigeur' in Nashville. Chateau West has good tablecloths, large tables and padded seats. Thank God they don't carry on with rubbish, and do realise restaurants do what they are supposed to. The food is good. We had French onion soup, and salad with terrine of goose. It was all excellent. Finally we had coffee. It was as good as that made by the best of French coffee shops. For a good night out and the very best in service, all served in a beautiful location, come here. It's worth it.

Yelp
Amazing!!!!!!! The fondu was exceptional. I had the duck Chombord which was spectacular, the blend of sweet fruit with duck was superb. The potatoes and green beans had great flavor as well. My wife had the chicken coq vin which has exceptional flavor and depth. It favor like beef stew. It was the best food I have had in a while in Nashville. The desserts were to die for, the flourless chocolate cake was hands down the best of the 4 we tried. Next the pear, then the vanilla crème brûlée, then the strawberries Napoleon.

Yelp
It's rare that I leave a high priced restaurant like this feeling that I got my money's worth. In this case I definitely did. Was there for a birthday celebration dinner and the first thing we thought when we pulled into the parking lot was this place looks nice. It's clean, well lit, convenient location and plenty of parking. The food is exceptional. Maybe not Michelin star quality but very good and worth the menu prices. We started with the honey Bree fondue and French onion soup. Next was blackberry salmon and seafood pasta. Dessert options are unique and we opted to try a few. Creme brûlée, Tennessee ile Flottante & pear belle helene (it was a birthday celebration after all). Not a single complaint on any of the food and a lot of "oooh's & aaaah's". I found the flottante to be a particularly unique dessert. The only cons were the bread brought out before the meal wasn't very good. It didn't seem fresh & tasted like cardboard and the service was a little slow. There seemed to be only one waiter who was pulling double duty as the bartender and a hostess running the place. The waiter did his best to stay on top of all the guests but was obviously stretched thin. Though I think this is becoming a norm in dining out as restaurants struggle to stay staffed these days. I'm the end it was good and we will be back.

Ben S.

Yelp
Decent French place with an okay wine list and good service. The food was entirely serviceable and savory. Quite enjoyed the beef bourguignon they had. Not my usual dish, but I feel the lack of options I'd choose were limited and this one seemed the most up my alley. Luckily, it was! The wine we ordered was out, but we did find a bottle that was up our alley. Good folks all-round. Decent spot!

Yelp
I really don't like giving places mediocre reviews especially during covid times but Chateau West was just an odd experience. My friend and I needed a night out and we were looking for a place with a great ambiance, amazing food and service and safe social distancing measures. I'd say that CW was all over the place and I am still experiencing a roller coaster of emotions just thinking about it. The restaurant is in an odd location semi-hidden off of Murphy road and west end in a random lot. The exterior is inviting though, and absolutely does look like a European Chateau from the outside. I had high hopes looking at the exterior but when we went inside that hope was smashed to smithereens. Inside the Chateau feels like a place past it's prime, like a sad reminder of yesteryear and is the sort of place that your grandparents would want to take you to go to. There's nothing hip, modern or relevant about the vibe here which would be okay if there were other more redeeming qualities but sadly there is not. The service was kind of spotty and our waiter made us feel kind of uncomfortable since we felt he was trying to be cute. He kept saying things that made me think he wanted reassurance or affirmation that was doing a good job. It was awkward because if someone does a really great job I don't feel like I need to tell them but just leave them a larger than normal tip. The food started off promising as we ordered the French onion soup. It hit the spot and I did think that this was a great starter to get and went well with the bread they put out on the table. However, when we got our entrees it left much to be desired. I got Le Vegetarian which was a vegetarian dish with veggies and rice. It was flat out boring. Not a whole lot of flavor, not much excitement here. It did sound better than what my friend got since she ordered a seafood dish and just didn't enjoy it. We both ordered wine and that was another high point of the meal. In general everything didn't satisfy like I wished it would've. Although there wasn't a big misstep per say on their part just all the little things added up to a mediocre experience that was disappointing to us both.

Yelp
My friend and I had dinner at Chateaux West on Friday June 9 at 4:30 as we had another engagement. I have been at this restaurant many times. The food was wonderful, but the service was poor. We were left unattended for a long time. Our dishes were not cleared and the server tried to give us a bill before asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. I will return, but not soon. So disappointed.

Yelp
What an AMAZING meal! We had the escargot appetizer which I was CRAVING from my time in Germany. It was spot on. I had the hot bacon salad which I liked but not loved. The vinegar level was off. I had their daily soup special which was Mushroom and it was delightful with plenty of mushrooms and cream and some tender carrot pieces. Beautiful. My husband ordered the Chicken Divan Crepe and adored it. I had a night (it was large and well filled) and it was indeed yummy. All in all a BEAUTIFUL restaurant, we loved the quiet 2pm ambience. Can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Overall the experience was good. We like yo try new places and have never been to a French restaurant. We were seated right away. The ambience is perfectly romantic - probably our favorite part & perfect for date night. The food was good - but would not say outstanding. I got a special - a filet topped with crab meat & a side of potatoes cake & asparagus. The filet/crab meat was good, the potato cake was amazing, the asparagus was not good. My husband got the lamb chops. They were good. The complimentary bread/butter was the most memorable thing I ate delicious!! For my husband - his favorite thing he ate was banana's foster - they roll it out on a cart and light the banana on fire/cook it right in front of you - so fun and it was so yummy. Our waitress was friendly. We may would go back in the future but we have other restaurants we want to try first.

Yelp
I dined at Chateau West on Friday, December 11, 2020 for dinner at around 7:30 pm. The ambience of the restaurant can be described as intimate with its dimly lit dining area. Appetizers: * French onion soup was basic and tasted ordinary. I thought it covered with way too much cheese. * Escargot was very good and seasoned nicely. * The pan seared foie gras was quite fatty and I'd recommend it if you're want a heavy starter. Entrees: * The chateau filet was disappointing to me considering that I had better filets at mid range American restaurants. The filet was under-seasoned and it wasn't seared hard enough for good caramelization. The perigourdine sauce didn't taste rich enough to compliment the subpar filet. I ordered a side of polenta to substitute for the scalloped potatoes and they were also disappointingly under-seasoned. The polenta was dry and not as luscious as I anticipated it to be. * The duck chambord was cooked perfectly. The Brabant potatoes were tasty. The sauce was sweet and complimented the duck very nicely. I definitely recommend this if you like duck. Despite the technical issues with the filet and average appetizers, I find the overall price to be reasonable. Service was exceptional. If you're planning to dine here for the first time, be sure to check in on Yelp to receive a 15% discount.

Yelp
This place is INCREDIBLE! We got the goat cheese fondue appetizer and it was so good. For dinner we got the steak and slow cooked beef shoulder and both were phenomenal; the portions were smaller than we expected but we were full from our appetizer anyways. For dessert we got the profiterolle which was also amazing. We had no complaints about the taste of any of the food whatsoever. And our waitress was incredibly patient through our many questions and indecisiveness. Will definitely be going back to try more of the menu! Update: came back for brunch (because this place was just THAT good) and I've gotta say, this place is Nashville's best kept secret. We got the steak and eggs and the chicken crepe (we subbed the mushroom with spinach because I'm not a fan of mushrooms) and both were phenomenal! Even the coffee tasted better than usual drip coffee. I'm not one who necessarily likes visiting the same restaurants repeatedly because I like to try new things/new places, but Chateau West has been exceptional and I will definitely be back again.

Yelp
What an incredible experience! After weeks, I am still dreaming about these foods and flavors. Every single detail in spices and flavor combination was mind blowing and beautifully crafted. I will be back very soon!

Yelp
We tried this place last night and we would absolutely will be back! We want to try the rest of the things on menu. Sorry for not posting appetizers, they were inhaled before we remembered to take pics, however, Beef Tartare, Foie Gras Terrine and Escargot were excellent dishes! And say hi to our waiter Sam when you're there! Enjoy!

Yelp
First time diners for lunch. We made reservations, but not necessary for the day. Greeted and seated quickly. Very friendly and attentive waiter. Menu included familiar but still interesting options. Bread and butter offered at the beginning. Basic French bread but better than biscuits. Ordered and enjoyed Oysters Sardou, Boeuf Bourguignon and Crepe Deppoiseau Gratin and Pears Belle Helene. Will make dinner reservations!

Yelp
I come here a couple times per month with one of my French groups. Happy hour offers a $5 chardonnay or a house red, both of which I do enjoy. I typically don't eat (we are there to practice speaking, after all), but when I do, I am never disappointed. The ambiance is quiet and upscale, which is perfect for our needs. The only thing I don't like is I am not terribly thrilled with the service. We are usually waited on by the same person, and he is not very warm or friendly. Additionally, one time I was trying to leave and he was nowhere to be found (I had to venture into the kitchen to find him, and there were only 2 other tables with people in the entire restaurant). Other than that, I don't think you'll be disappointed! Cordially, Clayton Cohn

Yelp
My first impression was rather poor. I felt like my waiter was not attentive, did not explain the menu, and was very abrupt. I also felt like I rarely saw him during the meal. But I began to think about it and put myself in France. A quick google search told me that perhaps I was just experiencing a cultural difference, and it wouldn't be fair to dock stars for that. It seems that French waitstaff are different and may seem standoffish due to being efficient and somewhat no-nonsense. The recommendations he made were FABULOUS, from the appetizers (escargot and fondue) to the wine (Chardonnay and burgundy), and the lamb shanks. This is the kind of food that makes you melt into your seat. My tip if you are used to the fawning American waitstaff? Be direct and to the point. If your waiter hadn't come by in a while, wave them down. Also don't come hangry, because my first 15 minutes were grumpy

Yelp
Food was amazing. Deserts weren't the best but the good made me not care. Will definitely be going back.

Yelp
I went for a friends birthday dinner on a Saturday night, and the place was packed, however, the noice volume was really enjoyable. You could talk at a normal level and you didn't really hear a lot of conversations around you. We started with the calamari, which had a light batter, great dipping sauces, and nice sized pieces of calamari. The ratio of breading to squid was perfect, and it didn't taste overly greasy. I got a French onion soup which had good flavor and a very stringy cheese. Then for an entree I ordered the duck and some others at the table got scallops, which were too pretty not to take a photo of, so I've included that as well. They asked if medium was okay for the duck, I said yes. When I hear medium I expect to see some pink but it was a little over cooked. There was only the slightest bit of pink and only on the middle pieces, which made the texture a little tougher but it was still enjoyable! The potatoes and green beans that came with it were great. The sauce was yummy, and I love the pairing of duck and fruit. We also brought my friend a small birthday treat, and included enough spoons so she could share. They even sang her happy birthday, and offered to do it a second time as well to make sure she felt extra special. Also, there is a constant stream of people coming to the table to refill waters if needed, which was such a great thing to have! Our waitress, Sasha, was also wonderful. We had a few dietary questions and she was able to walk us through the menu and even spoke with the chefs. She was attentive to the table, funny, and very kind. Overall, it was a great experience!

Yelp
Everything was well prepared and delicious. Nice atmosphere. We had duck, grilled fish, and scallops.

Yelp
Food was very mediocre, as was the service. Not worth it. Food was tough and wines were just ok.

Yelp
First of all Amazing food! The escargot and Beef Bourguignon were both delicious! My husband enjoyed the sweet Duck Chambord. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating! Great Parisian fee candlelit with flowers on the tables. I loved it!

Yelp
The place is very upscale ans thus on the pricier side. I had the duck meal with potatoes and veggies. It was delicious. Their wine selection are good - they had quality tasty wine. Their Bordeaux did not disappoint! The crème brûlée was not up to par. For a French restaurant, I expect better. Overall, nice restaurant, just don't have a lot of expectations for the brûlée dessert.

Yelp
Dined here with a group and found nothing to recommend it. All of our food was bland and mediocre, the ambience lackluster and the waitress so rude we wondered if she was trying to give an authentic "rude" french experience. There are better places to spend your time and money.

Yelp
The food is great! A piece of France in West Nashville. The derive is always fast and friendly (take out). The restaurant itself os super cute and cozy. Looking forward to dining in soon.

Yelp
A favorite place of mine! I always feel special and well taken care of! The food never disappoints either. The wine suggestions are on point.

Yelp
Great service! Everything from a welcome at the door to providing me a new napkin when they noticed it fell on the floor. The food was delicious. My wife especially enjoyed the fondue and chocolate dessert. They have a great wine and liquor selection. This is a perfect place for a romantic evening, dinner with friends, or business. Not a great place to bring your children. We will be back & soon! What a gem!

Yelp
I am usually long winded when writing a review. I will be brief. I really looked forward to discovering a nice place with good atmosphere with a not so high noise level. We arrived early. I had read the menu online and was looking forward to the salad which I understood was served with warm bacon dressing. I used to get that years ago at Houston's. The salad I got was a not so great salad with a very sour dressing, and bacon bits. There was also nothing warm about it. I sent it back. it was a huge disappointment. The French Onion soup was just ok. We ordered the Chateaubriand for 2. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We are an older couple who has traveled extensively, and we know good food. From the best chefs in Las Vegas to the Four Seasons in New York we have enjoyed some great meals and service. The Chateaubriand cost in excess of $100.00. It was when compared to what we have experienced as celebration dinners a very lackluster experience. We did not enjoy the meal or the atmosphere and will not go back. There was a group sitting in a corner that appeared to know our waiter - a group who diminished the entire atmosphere because of their attire and noise. Not worth the money, and the entire experience disappointed.
