Where to Drink a Guinness in the Indianapolis Area This Winter | Eater

"Downtown Indy soccer fans sprinted to this all-European football bar when it opened in 2007, and when its sister location opened in Fishers in 2010, the area’s soccer fans had even more to cheer about. Since Guinness is the official beer of the Premier League, it’s the ideal spot to grab a pint of the stout with other like-minded ultras rooting for their favorite team. During association football weekends, both locations open early, serving “soccer” breakfasts with the regular menu beginning mid-morning. Throughout the rest of the day, footie fans can gobble from a selection of sarnies, burgers, and pizzas while chinwagging about the hairdryer treatment because of the dive." - Brian Garrido

Chatham is definitely college/sports atmosphere. Lots of TVs with just about everything on. Food was decent. My husband had the salmon sandwich with onion rings, along with the portobello mushroom fries. The mushrooms were phenomenal and would definitely go back just for them. I had the apple and candied walnut salad and a side of sweet potato fries. I wish the apples would have been more bite size for the salad but it was decent. The sweet potato fries were pretty good. Enough seasoning to be tasty but not overbearing. Was a little frustrated with the service. We could see our waiter visiting tables around us numerous times and we had to flag him down twice. Overall food was good tho and like I said we go be back for the mushrooms alone.

Holy Cow! Whatever you do, don’t order the Boneless Wings, they’re terrible! They are frozen, over-breaded, nuggets of chicken junk with BBQ sauce brushed over them. Pretty sure these were bought at Sam’s Club. While you’re at it, avoid the grilled CK Club. Not sure what was drier, the chicken or the bread. Pic attached, see for yourself. Our meal was about as bad as I’ve ever had. YUCK! Do better!

The food here is amazing! We stopped in late on a Thursday night and it just hit the spot. The spinach artichoke dip was so good that I had to take a picture. The chicken club and house salad were also great.

Google
Very slow and inattentive service, and very unreliable slow timing to get food. Took over 50 minutes for us to receive the half dozen wings we ordered as an appetizer. We were becoming concerned about timing so after around 45 minutes we put in entree orders - then our entrees immediately came out just 2 minutes after our wings when there was no room in front of us. Beer selection is decent, and overall it’s a good sports bar vibe place. Food is fine, nothing special but decent. I did enjoy my salad with added salmon.

Excellent service, food and spirts! St. Joe brews, great pizzas and tasty wings.

Google
The most disappointing experience. I Thought I would grab pizza for the family as a carry out order but I should have known from the call when I ordered that this probably wasn’t going to be the night. For starters, It was a complication to substitute an ingredient on one of my pizza orders. Followed by a specific request to not have either pizza cut. When I picked them up, for the first time my pickup order was taped shut 🤔. When I get home and pop the tape ….of course…they screwed up the order. The tape was a cover up, instead of them fixing their mistake they cover it up. So I call back to speak with the manager. All he had to offer was for me to come back and they could remake them…😒 it’s 2 degrees outside…no one is going back. To make matters worse the pizza was far below the quality we are accustomed to, not to mention a foreign object in the food. Unbelievable disappointment, time for a new place for pizza.

Update 05/05/24: We've been ordering from Chatham Tap Butler for the past six months and have loved their food. I finally stopped in for lunch yesterday. Great atmosphere and service. The Portabella Mushroom Fries were incredible and the Reuben was great. The Boneless Buffalo Chicken Wings were very tasty as well. We were looking for a new pizza to try and came across Chatham Tap (Uber Eats). We've had it twice. Overall, it's outstanding!! Our first pizza was so awesome, we decided to have the same one again... Thin crust, Gorgonzola, Asiago, Pepperoni, Mushroom, Red Onion, Bacon and Pesto Spread. Wow! What a combination! Unfortunately, our second order of the same was wrong... No Bacon, No Pesto Spread and it had ham on it (not for me, thanks). It was still good, but not what we ordered. Uber Eats refunded me for the missing toppings and we will order from them again, so all's good.

Google
The boneless wings were clearly frozen and very bready. The house-made chips were unremarkable and had an odd flavor. The grilled chicken we had in both the club sandwich and pesto sandwich was dry and tasteless. The bread on the club sandwich was too hard to eat. I gave up the fight about halfway through and just pulled the chicken off. Our table had waters to drink and we never received a refill in the hour and a half we were there. I really wanted this to be better, but it was just terrible .

Yelp
If beer and pub grub are your thing, this is the perfect place for you. Lots of folks visit here before and after the shows on campus, so be prepared. The portions here are quite generous and the prices fairly reasonable. Service is a bit of a hit and miss, but the food comes out rather quickly. Most of the restaurant is either high-tops or booths, so be aware in case you need accommodations. I believe their are a couple of accessible tables in the far corner though.

Yelp
We enjoyed a strangely, wonderful, relaxing and delicious lunch this afternoon. On Saturday's, we try to take our well behaved, 60 lb. Treeing Tennessee Brindle Hound, Baxter, to lunch at one of the nearby restaurants with a dog friendly patio. With rain expected in the Indy area in the next 2-3 hours, we were selective where we choose for lunch. We hoped to miss the rain totally, but it didn't happen. Chatham Tap, at Butler University, has a covered awning with a heater, ceiling fan and wide patio awning which kept us 100% dry. We watched the rain, and the Butler fans darting in and out of the rain, while enjoying our delicious lunch and still had a dry space to enjoy our dog. We explained our rain plan to the hostess and she was happy to seat us under the awning. We had a friendly greeting from our server who proceeded to deliver our beers and cocktails quickly. Light ales to rich stouts, imports and craft beers are available plus a well stocked full bar. Happy Hour runs Mon. through Fri., 3:00 - 6:00, with a nice menu to choose from. Buffalo Chicken Dip is one of my favorites as well as the Chicken Wings with Chipotle Apricot, BBQ, Hot Buffalo or Teriyaki are just a few of our favorite sauces. The Fried Pickles are delicious and the Nachos are so satisfying. Today, I had a delicious Flint's Meatball Sub with a 1/2 lb. of beef and pork homemade meatballs topped with excellent, well seasoned, marinara sauce, provolone, parmesan and oregano on a hoagie bun. My husband ordered the always amazing Half Order of Fish and Chips served with 3 filets placed on top of flavorful, seasoned, crisp fries. It's one of our favorite meals. Our server was personable and provided excellent service. The menu offers all the typical Pub food with soups and salads, burgers, sandwiches, terrific burgers, pizzas plus some special entrees (Scotch Eggs, War Pig, Reubens, Rasher and Apple Bacon plus more). They also open early to serve breakfast for many of the soccer games aired on T.V. Check social media for dates. The parking garage is well marked and afforable with increased parking prices for special events. Stop in for good food, terrific selection of brews, and soccer's games.

Yelp
We visited on a lunch break while working. This is sooo different from the Chatham tap downtown. I don't like any of the food here. The wings were too sweet, and just different. The salad dressing to a salad that I ordered was awful. Our server disappeared and we were almost late going back to work, because we couldn't find the server to cash us out. I don't enjoy this place.

Yelp
Great place to stop by for dinner after a show at Clowes Hall. It is open late and has a large menu.

Sarah M.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here for a late dinner after an event at Clowes Memorial Hall. For a Saturday night, it wasn't very busy, so we were seated right away and had a nice spot on the patio to enjoy the great weather. Our server was really nice and checked-in often, despite it eventually picking up quite a bit with other people walking down from the event and lots of carry out traffic. She made sure we had plenty of water and fresh beers and our food came out hot, although there was a little bit of a wait. We were so hungry and ate every last bit of wings on our plates before finishing up our beers and heading home. I can't wait to stop in again!

Yelp
My son and I stopped in for dinner before seeing Sal Vulcano at Clowes. We didn't have a wait. The staff were very nice and attentive. We sat on the bar side and it had many TVs available for viewing. It was nice, looked like a pub setting with the different flags and memorabilia. I ordered the Earls Club with chips. The sandwich was good and the chips were chips. We were able to get in and out in a timely manner. I felt it was a little pricey for my small sandwich, but it was good.

Yelp
We went to Chatham Tap Butler before the Mike Birbiglia show the other night. It was super busy but they kept up! We sat at the bar. Hubs got the nachos and I got the French dip. The French dip was lovely, really well seasoned and tender. The sweet potato fries were cold when I got them but the rest of our food was hot and fresh. It's a great place with lots of TVs so it's got a nice vibe and you can see whatever sports you'd like while there too.

Yelp
Love Friday night happy hour at Chatham Tap! Pregaming before a show or just hanging out with friends ..this is the perfect place!! The service is always personal and pleasant. And I wanna give a big shout out to Sherry! The best bar bartender ever! The food is bar fare but recommend the wings and the pizza!

Yelp
The Chatham Tap at Butler University seems like it would be quite the hopping place if you went during the regular semester, but is quite relaxed during the summer. A group of friends and I went to see the Pacers game, shown on every TV in the place for easy viewing. Despite the establishment being only about 1/3 full, service was somewhat slow. Granted, we were waiting a while for a few members of our party to arrive, there was still long stretches of time where our table was not tended to. However, the food was well worth the wait. We ordered... Spinach and artichoke dip ($10 or 11, not pictured): served with pita chips and Parisian bread. This was absolutely decadent and a great introduction to the dining experience. Southern BBQ pork sandwich ($11, 13 with fries): as a southerner myself, I always have high expectations for my BBQ and this met the bar, but did not dazzle me. You get a good heaping of pulled pork on your sandwich, along with the delicious onion rings. I do think the pickles are a bit briny so I went without them on my sandwich. Raspberry lemon cheesecake (MP $8, not pictured): this is a rotating dessert on their menu, though I don't think this is necessarily a mainstay contender. It is a fine cake, but does not have that classic cheesecake flavor, and the lemon is very subdued in the raspberry. Chocolate layer cake ($6): quite delicious, but as a disclaimer, it is made with peanut butter frosting, which is not listed on the menu. Our server did ask if anyone had peanut allergies as we did share, but it is always a slippery slope unless such an ingredient is listed on the menu. This cake is also served with strawberry slices and a raspberry syrup, which I think is not needed for the cake itself. I could certainly come here again, and I would certainly love to try some of the other options!

Yelp
We stopped in on a whim and quickly found seats at the bar. Butler U was on spring break, so parking was easy and it wasn't too crowded. The menu was definitely English pub, but was surprisingly fresh and hit the spot. Our service was great, too!

Yelp
We enjoyed here before a show at Clowes Memorial Hall; their fried pickles were very good and they had some cool sandwiches on their menu.

Yelp
If you're visiting an event at Clowes Halls at Butler, then Chatham Tap is a great spot to dine beforehand or afterward. The sports bar menu has appetizers, soups, salads, and sandwiches with a full bar. The food is good, be sure to arrive early if dining, and servers are prepared for sporting events on flatscreens, games at Butler Bowl, or Hinkle Field House or events at Clowes Hall. The atmosphere is a sports bar so it can be very loud during a game. Dine at a large, 6/8 person booths, tall-top tables in bar area, dine at bar option with current enclosed patio seating. Regular height tables are available in another dining room. You can park in the Sunset Parking Garage directly behind Clowes Hall located in the 4700 block of Sunset Avenue between 46th and 49th Streets. Event parking is usually $10 (cash or card accepted). Easy to locate as traffic cones and employees will direct you into the garage. It is a very short walk (75 yds.) from the parking garage to the entrance of Clowes Hall. Metered Street parking is available in front of Chatham Tap and accepts coins or cards with a 2-HOUR LIMIT. Metered parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Do not park at a broken meter as you will receive a ticket you'll be responsible for. So last night when I attended The Nutcracker, at Clowes, it was so convenient and affordable. I parked once, at the garage, had dinner at Chatham Tap, again feet from the garage, then walked approximately 75 yards to entrance of Clowes Hall. One of the main reasons I love coming to Butler for events and Chatham Tap to grab a meal.

Yelp
We came after a volleyball game to hang out, have some dinner and drinks, and watch the Pacers game. TVs galore, 21+ bar, great food, and we had great service at the bar. I absolutely loved my Haitian martini. It was a rum based sweet tiki drink and I would have 10 of them if I could! I could see this being a more rowdy, loud bar during the school season, but we really enjoyed it when we went at the end of May.

Stasia C.

Yelp
We met up at Chatham Tap Butler before a show at Clowes Hall. We had nachos, antipasto, soup, wings original and wings spicy. Everything was so very nice. The food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks refilled and kept checking on us. A+ Thanks

Yelp
I've had dinner here a few times. The food is always good and reasonably priced. Last night I had the balsamic chicken salad but I substituted salmon for a $3 upcharge. Totally worth it, it was delicious. The server was really fun, too. It's a bit noisy, but it's a sports bar on a college campus, so it's to be expected.
google avatar

Yelp
Best fish and chips in Indy! This is a soccer pub so it does get crowded and loud which is no issue to us! Just be prepared if you're looking for something intimate. The wait staff are awesome here and very quick with everything.

Yelp
Good Stop for Lunch. Spinach dip was like a cheese, cheese, spinach dip- way more cheese than Spinach- but not complaining. Chips had actual taco seasoning on them which was yummy. Had the lunch portion of fish and chips. Hot, crispy fish and fries with tartar sauce. Buffalo chicken wrap was big with flavorful plump chicken in it. An enjoyable place with several locations in Indy. Decorated with college and professional soccer decor- very frat friendly feel. Service was swift and friendly.

Yelp
I'd like to start my critique by saying that the service was excellent. I was seated right away, and the waitress was tentative, but not overbearing. The ambiance of the place was fine. Soccer paraphernalia is everywhere. The pub certainly caters to sports fans, but there were many conversations taking place around me, and there is a bit of a scholarly air - which is par for an establishment on a university campus. The food was ok. I didn't think it was possible to burn fish n' chips, but the cook staff managed to pull it off. In that regard, I suppose they were very much like pubs in England: great service, great ambience, and sub par food - which is what they were going for, I think?
google avatar

Patrick F.

Yelp
Food was good. The service was good. The inside felt very much like a place you would find in the UK. The fish and chips were good too.
google avatar

Kruti P.

Yelp
The customer service here is excellent. I asked for a chicken taco salad similar to what is served at the Mass Ave location. The item was not on the menu but the chef was willing to look up pictures and ask me how I would like it so he could make it. He was very nice and came to check in to see if everything turned out good. I appreciate the chef for attempting this dish even though this location doesn't have it on their menu or make it.
google avatar

Yelp
Another great visit when I was on campus for work, I learned a valuable lesson. If you get the fish and chips, a half order would be plenty. I couldn't finish this deliciousness
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
The service at this location left a lot to be desired. When arriving to pick up an order, I provided the name to the staff member. The staff walked away to get the order, came back without the food, and proceeded to ask the person that just walked in for their name. The staff member went and brought their food out with no hesitation. Once again, the staff asked for the name of the order, went and grabbed the food. Why was there a delay in grabbing our food? There was no communication about if the order was ready or why they forgot us. When asked to speak to a manager about the experience, the manager was unconcerned with the delay and did not understand why we were unhappy. A simple apology for the misunderstanding would have sufficed. We wont be back.

Yelp
With this being the only restaurant on Butler campus I had expected it to be decent, but unfortunately my dining experience was just... "ok" and not great. I liked the sports bar atmosphere but the place was so quiet and dead. The service was very slow. Few minutes to be greeted by the server, the food didn't take long but I didn't get things I asked our server for (drink refills and extra napkins). I eventually reminded her and got my refill but didn't get the napkin when I was eating and needed it the most, so I gave up. They have decent selection of food, but it's definitely on the pricey side considering it is on campus and targeted customer base is largely students (I would assume?) My burger was good, but nothing really stood out and I will probably not return. If you live in the area I think this could be a great place to gather with friends and watch games.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Vibe. The first time I went there was before a Butler game and it was perfectly fine. Seemed like another good sports bar with a lot of TVs. THEN...I went there for the World Cup and it was a VIBE. A soccer vibe. They are a soccer bar after all. They don't just show the World Cup folks they also show Premier and Champions league whenever it is on. They will even open before 10 am for early start matches. Butler Games. It is right by Hinkle so unless you best plan to get there early if you want to go here before a Butler game because so does everyone else. As such, get there early or go elsewhere. Service. We are bar folk. Bar service has always been great. Food. Wings - Fantastic. Breadsticks - really good. Soft Pretzels - tasty but nothing special. Breakfast - average. Drinks. The bar is huge and that's where you should sit. Beer list for days.

Yelp
Wow! Words can't describe how wonderful everything was today. Both the lovely lady bartending and the awesome man we had serving us exceeded all expectations for a quick bite. The food was absolutely amazing, service was prompt, accurate and friendly, and the atmosphere was very warm. Thank you!

Yelp
What a great location located on the Butler University campus. This location has a nice outdoor patio area and a huge bar inside with tons of TV's to watch games. We arrived around 6:00 pm and ordered and waited for close to an hour to get our food. That left us with 15 mins to eat pay the bill and get over to Clowes Hall. We were rushed and didn't get to finish our meals. I really liked this place I just think they needed more help. We sat there for awhile with nothing to drink not even water. The fish n chips, hamburger, salad, and my Reuben which was really good all looked great. They have excellent ranch! It you're a ranch lover try it. It was unfortunate that we couldn't finish them there and had to hurry. I noticed the table sitting next us arrived about 30 mins after us all received their food before us. We all were like what in the world is going on? I will try this place again and hopefully we will have better service.

Yelp
Went to the "tap" ahead of a Clowes presentation. They don't take reservations and said if we wanted to eat before presentation to arrive between 5-5:30 We thought that time would be too early but it worked out great We were greeted right away and told open seating in the bar. We picked up seats and our waiter arrived right away I had a Bloody Mary. Just ok no garnish, in store made bloody sauce. Nothing great My husband had Guinness. Good and cold regular pub glass. I had a English Ale. Very good My husband had the fish poor boy. The menu said served with coleslaw and Louisiana sauce. He requested tarter sauce and coleslaw on the side. They charged $1.00 up charge for tarter sauce and the slaw was undressed cabbage. The bun it was served on was fresh and delicious. My husband loved the fish and the way it was prepared. He also ordered onion rings. Freshly battered and crispy. Not too much batter. I had a chicken club sandwich. It was totally awesome. Served on in house made black bean bread. Swiss cheese, I ordered by chicken breaded, tomatoes, onion and lettuce maybe bacon. It was a huge sandwich well worth the price Waiter was responsive to our needs and presented check in a reasonable time We will be back. Great meal and experience

Yelp
I'm glad to see dining options on Butler's campus, but I'm curious how Chatham Tap stays in business. I had a happy hour with some coworkers on a nice fall Thursday evening and it was largely empty. I'm sure they draw a crowd for soccer games on Saturday mornings, as well as Butler basketball/football home games. Food, drink and service were fine but nothing overly memorable.

Molly M.

Yelp
Food was amazing just really disappointed it took almost an hour to get a sandwich and a burger. We got sat around 6pm and didn't get our food till 7pm. We were sat before a bunch of people and they ended up getting food before us.

Yelp
Ehhhh...was very underwhelmed by this location. The food was "meh" and the service was "meh". We ordered a trio of apps, and none of them were stand out. The shredded cheese on our cheesey garlic chips wasn't even melted. Our nachos were also burned--I didn't know you could burn nachos. Those poor lil chips were burnt to a crisp. It is a nice location though if you are visiting Butler and need a place to chill for a spell. Nice patio too to enjoy the Indiana Summer.

Jayme L.

Yelp
We went to Chatham Tap Butler prior to a show at Clowes Hall. It was close and convenient in an area of town where there are few options for a pre-show meal as a family. The show as at 7:30, and we arrived at 6. One would think that is plenty of time to grab a bite to eat before a show. However, the service was slow. We didn't put our order in until after 6:30 p.m. While our server did a fine job, the kitchen took well over 30 minutes to prepare our meal which did not arrive until 7:15 p.m. (our 10 year old even commented that others were getting their meal before we did). We ordered nachos shortly after being seated, and even those took a while (and came out quite charred). We boxed up our meal and left for the show having eaten very little. The nearly $70 price tag was not worth the service or the quality of the food, sadly. I do not think we will be visiting this establishment again.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Place is understaffed. Can't blame the server but management is not serious about providing a good experience. The food is so-so. Ordered fish and chips. They were soggy along with the oil hadn't been cleaned so all the old food particles burned in the oil providing a very bitter taste. The ambiance is reasonable.

Yelp
I frequent Chatham tap probably 3-4 times a month. I go to either the Butler location or the Fishers location. I've told family and friends about the food and the service which is normally on point. Today I called in an order full order of fish n chips full order of wings. I also order a 1/2 order of wings and onion rings for another person since they have never had the food. My husband and I normally split the order of fish and the order of wings. That way we can both have some deliciousness. I ran in to get my order. I asked the hostess for an extra tarter sauce since I would be dropping my husbands off for lunch. She said it cost...unknown how much but she would have to ring it in. Well since I had already paid for my order I didn't have any cash so I politely ask to speak with a manager. It's only tarter sauce plus I've gotten it before. To my dismay the manager stated that it cost and they always charge. I said I've never paid at the Fishers location. Do you know THE MANAGER said oh I need to call the GM to see why they are giving away free food. I was done...stick a fork in me...we are talking about tarter sauce for 2 people in 2 locations/splitting the order. We are talking about $52.29 plus tip on a pick up order and all I needed was an extra tarter sauce. How much is a cup of tarter sauce?? I guess it was worth losing a good paying, good tipping customer cause I left without the TARTER SAUCE.

Yelp
When you have need to get St Joseph on tap but don't want to drive into downtown Indy, this is the place to go. Great rotating menu of St Joseph beers as well as numerous other beers on tap that are on rotation. Food is really good, too. We split 2 Sarnies (sandwiches); the Apple Gouda and The Pesto. Both were delicious. The house made chips were excellent and plentiful, but 5the cole slaw was tiny and boring. The half-order of fish and chips is enough for a meal for most people, and was very good. And m, surprisingly quiet for a Friday night on a college campus! We will be back!

Yelp
I'm a lenient reviewer and support local business - but this location of Chatham Tap is struggling and does a disservice to the Chatham Tap I know from Mass Ave. Very consistent with other reviews, there was no hostess for 10 minutes. I watched her be very rude to customers as I was waiting on our table. Food and drink orders were mixed up. Food was very different than CT downtown (eg - Scotch eggs shouldn't be hard boiled eggs, deep fried, with no sausage.... topped with a drizzle of A1 or Heinz 57). Kids cheese sticks were hard and cold. Wings tasted of downtown variant but were cold. Someone must have recently vomited as the side room reeked of such. I could understand if it were midnight, but it was 5:30 I hope that the location can improve because I was hoping to add it to our rotation: but for now, it falls well below of any list of contemplation.

Linda M.

Yelp
Great service at the bar in spite of the fact that they had Annie on Broadway at Clowes and the bar was packed. Shout out to Curt and Leigh. I don't know how they keep up when Butler has events that pack the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
I can only imagine what it is like to go to Butler now and have this brewhouse type restaurant right on campus. We could only imagine something like that back in the late 70s. But, visited here for dinner before a Butler Bulldog BB game and it seemed like the place to be. Good beer menu and everyone in our group found something to their liking. I had the pork tenderloin and like it should be in a good Indiana bar, it was three times the size of the bun. For starters the table shared the Buffalo Chicken Dip which was perfectly flavorful, but not Buffalo hot so everyone at the table enjoyed it. We also had what is billed as 3 "big" soft pretzels with three sauces - mustard, nacho cheese and cinnamon caramel - which gave three distinct flavors. I would actually call it 3 "medium" soft pretzels as far as size, but still tasty. So I guess I would have to judge Chatham Tap as a good basic sports bar with good bar food. Lots of TV sets. Nothing stands out as especially unique except the great location on campus
google avatar

Rick J.

Yelp
Split a Fried tenderloin sandwich with french fries, salad, and a burger. Everything was very food. Conveniently located next to Clowes Hall and parking garage. 6:00 arrival for dinner prior to performance at Clowes Hall.

Yelp
Decent restaurant. A friend recommended this restaurant as I was going to be nearby. It was fairly quiet. It was fun to see so much Butler and bulldog stuff Al around the restaurant. I had the apple and candied walnut salad with grilled chicken, and the raspberry and pecan vinaigrette. It was excellent and hearty. My friend got a breakfast burrito and said it was good. The salsa seemed quite hot. It's great they a decent place like this on Butler's campus. Students were out on break so there weren't a lot of people in the area.

Yelp
I normally take pictures for my reviews but I wasn't really planning on doing a review. We ordered through Doordash and have before a few times. But I just had to tell y'all how tasty the Buffalo Chicken Pizza is! I normally don't like chicken on my pizza because I'm super picky about the chicken quality but they make theirs with a dip style chicken and it's very good! This is my 2nd time ordering it and won't be my last! I've had the wings before and wasn't a fan but tonight ordered the boneless wings with their special sauce and they are very good! I'd recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
Hands-down one of my favorite restaurants in Indy for the quick service, consistently delicious food, and large portions for the price... I literally haven't tried a single thing on the menu that I haven't enjoyed, but my go-to fave is the war pig or garlic pork tenderloin (sub onion rings even though the fries are fantastic). Their garlic cheese chips (see: french fries topped in cheese with this like garlic ranch dip) are absolutely to die for!

Yelp
Such a delicious place and a cool ambiance. We went for an INDIANAPOLIS Moms event after our pics and they were getting ready to close (I hate doing that) but they were super accommodating and the food was still Amazing. They also have a great drink menu that has a delicious Moscow mule.

Yelp
Met my neighbors here for dinner on Friday night. I've been to the Mass Ave location but hadn't been here yet. There wasn't a wait for a table at 7p so that's a plus for me. We sat outside on the patio which was nice! It was chilly so the heaters are still going and kept me comfortable. I also noticed there are a few cozy fireplace spots on the other side of the patio. I've been wanting to try their wings because I've heard they are some of the best in town. I have to agree! They were meaty and crispy but not over cooked and had just the right amount of sauce (my friend ordered so not sure which one we got). We also ordered the mushroom fries which were nicely done. I randomly ordered the cheeseburger pizza (cheeseburgers looked good, pizza looked good so I just went for it). It was nice and cheesy. I took my friend's jalapeños that were meant for his chili and topped off the pizza which is what it needed to balance all the heavy toppings. Obviously had to get a side of ranch for dipping my crust. So Midwest of me, I know. Our service was good and steady!

Yelp
This was such a bizarre experience at Chatham Tap. I came here before a basketball game with friends who have season tickets at Butler. Our waitress took almost a half hour to bring drinks. We ordered an appetizer and tried to order our entrees as well (at that point, we were really hungry and cutting it close to the game), but she looked perplexed and really flustered. We thought, maybe she's new at her job. It also took a long time for our meals to come out. Everyone's meal came except for mine and she said she'd check on it in the kitchen. About 30 minutes passed before we flagged down another server because my meal still never arrived. Eventually, the manager came by and said that my meal was never actually put in and he would put it in ASAP with the kitchen and adjust the bill. When that meal finally came out, we had to leave because we were already late to the game. I at least had my meal boxed and took it home. I don't know if this is necessarily an accurate reflection of the restaurant itself because things moved quickly once the manager got involved. However, it was a really bizarre night and unfortunately a really poor experience.

Yelp
9/15/23 Beyond rude, horrible service! . Read the reviews first before you go. This was my first and last time ever visiting this place. We went ahead of a Clowes Hall comedy show. We stood in line at the hostess stand for what seemed like a ridiculous amount of time. The entire time the girl at the stand looked like her face might crack wide open if she smiled, so she didn't! Finally we decided to sit at the bar. We went to the bar and the girl behind the bar, (not a bartender because bartenders don't do this!) ignored us and actually serviced other customers sitting there, but not us. After about 10 minutes of sitting there wondering what we needed to do get served another person (again not a bartender...), came out and also walked past us to serve someone else. I stopped this person and asked what we needed to do to be served and his response was, waiving his hands around, "I JUST CAME OUT FROM THE BACK! I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS NEXT, WE WILL GET TO YOUI!". No you won't 'get to me' because I'm leaving. And we did. I will never go to this horrible place again.

Yelp
We came before a butler show... two hours before show time. Sat in a remote location. We put in an order... waiting over an hour for food... They had a limited menu anticipating a crowd. I ordered a cold sandwich and fries. Place is cute, food is good, service is friendly... but, damn, what was the hold up??? My little room of your tables was like the isle of the damned. Some of us paid before getting food, just to be on the safe side.

Yelp
It's hard to even give two stars after my recent visit - but the wings are good. But the absolute lack of service and communication we had during our visit was unfortunate. I'm not sure what we actually went wrong. It seems the overall internal communication from the front and back of house is lacking. We got there, got sat by the hostess and proceeded to wait around 15-20 minutes until we got greeted. To be honest I was busy looking over the beer & food menus & sort of lost track of time until I realized, "wait a sec, we have had no one talk to us." We were sitting near the bar area and I kept looking around to see if anyone was noticing us. Eventually a very nice, and polite waitress came over to us and apologized for our wait, took our drink order and walked away. Soon after another server came up and said she was our server. Not sure if the hostess wasn't doing her job or what - but everyone seemed confused. Eventually, about 30-40 minutes into our night we placed our food order. Pretty simple one of wings & fried pickles. Another 30 minutes goes by. Nothing. Another 10 & eventually we get the fried pickles & a very brief explanation from the server as to why there was a delay. Apparently the kitchen wasn't getting the tickets servers put in. This boggled my mind. So the kitchen just stood around at 7:30pm on a Friday night thinking that no one was putting food orders in for 30 minutes??? Wild. So eventually we did get the wings. They are good as expected. We had two beers. Good beer selection. But the lack of care or concern in how long the food took was my biggest pet peeve. Our server made it seem like this was normal...and perhaps it is after reading a few of the other reviews. Not one did I see a manger figure care to address the issues until one very angry asked for him to come to their table. Chatham Tap is a great family of restaurants - but this location needs some TLC.

Yelp
Three cheers for there being a new restaurant at Butler (and now the only one)! I was already a fan of Chatham Tap and was excited to check them out here. They luckily kept most of the fun Butler paraphernalia that was on the walls at the previous restaurant, which keeps the atmosphere festive. The menu is a mix of British and American food and so many thing sounded good. Word on the street is that their cheeseburger pizza (and other pizzas) are delicious, but we opted for sandwiches this time. We got chicken nachos (which come with avocado hummus on top), and I also got the portabella and gouda sarnie (British slang for sandwich). It came with avocado on top and a side of fries. It was pretty good! Congrats on the new location and I'll be back for some 'za or to try the English options: fish and chips, scotch eggs, lagers, etc. I also can't wait to try their wings that they're apparently famous for!
