I recently visited this spot for a evening snack. We tried papdi chaat, dahi puri and vada pav. All of them tasted so good. The papdi in the chaat was crunchy and fresh. I would recommend this spot for chaat lovers. The place was really superb with all other food trucks. A perfect place to spend evening with family and friends

Absolutely loved my experience at Chatpati Chat! Their chaat was nothing short of amazing every bite was bursting with authentic flavors and perfect balance. The Raj Kachori was a total showstopper crispy, tangy, and filled with all the right ingredients that melted together beautifully. The Dahi Puri was another highlight so refreshing, creamy, and perfectly spiced.

It's best Chat place in Austin hands down, if you are craving chat, there is nothing better than this. We had party and they provided catering order which made hosting party so easy, everyone had what they liked and not hassle of preparing or cooking.

Indian chat have some best savories. Samosa chat, spl chatpatti chat, vada pav, pav bajji are best

We have been here more than twice now. Their food is really good overall! Khasta kachori - all their chat items are good, including this kachori. Must try if you are there, it was in their specials so not sure if you will get it every time. Other chat items- dahi vada, ragda patties Shrikhand- their Shrikhand is homemade so wanted to give it a try. I must say I was impressed! It was very delicious. It was not as thick as the one we get in Mumbai and Gujarat but it tasted amazing!!! Pav bhaji - pav bhaji is also very delicious, I would just expect a bit more quantity of the bhaji and for it to be a little more on the spicy side.

Fairly quick service (they get BUSY on the weekends, have not been there during the week). We’ve been here twice and got the dabeli both times - it’s tasty without being overly oily. Their dahi puri, dahi papdi chaat are great, ragda pattis was also good. Chatpatti Special chaat is like a deconstructed Raj Kachori, tasted great. All the dishes have a homemade feel/taste, not a negative at all. Going to try their bhel next time.

This is the second time I came to Chatpati Chat and let me share my experience that the food was tasting great each time but this time when I ordered cheese Pav Bhaji … it was a to go order and when I came home and opened the parcel the quantity was very very less. May be they had very small portion left or what happened I don’t know… they should have denied my order if the stock of Pav Bhaji was over or less remaining with them. I paid $11.99 +plus tax just for 2-3 spoonful of Bhaji to take home. I felt so bad and would never come for such experience again to chatpati chat. I mean.. some sort of responsibility should be there on the part of owner to give a proper quantity but if they keep doing such practices for take home orders I am sure no one will be happy to continue to visit again.

Feb 28, 2025 review: My husband and I went there on Fri evening. Good weather and weekend start definitely resulted into rush at all food trucks. It's a diverse set of good trucks that area. Good lightening and seating options available. It has Gujarati good, South Indian, North Indian, halal, indo-chinese, ice cream and couple more places. We got the dahi puri and vada pav. I wanted to try dabeli but it was already out by that time. Vada pav was ok, have had better in Austin. It felt dry and spicy. Dahi puri was amazing!! Definitely would recommend to try it. Wait time is decent, 15-20 mins for chat items. We paid $18 for 2 vada pav and 1 dahi puri.

This is my third or fourth time eating here. I would say it's okay but definitely not wow. Most of the dishes tend to have a sweeter flavor profile. I expected the samosa chaat to be a bit spicier and tangier, and the pani puri could have used aloo. A lot of the dishes are made with ragda, which I am not a huge fan of. There are lots of other food trucks nearby. The food truck prices in Austin have really gone up. The starting prices are around $8.99 to $9.99 which feels very expensive. This is an international food truck zone, so you can find a variety of different options.

I have been here multiple times, and I would say the food is average. Every dish tastes the same, and most are made with ragda. Last time, I tried their pav bhaji and dabeli, which were just okay. It could be better, and there are other places that stand out. There are lots of other food trucks so our plan was to try out from multiple vendors one or two items at-least. There is plenty of parking, but it can be full on weekends.

It's in the big food truck park on Anderson mill road. I'd heard so much about this place, so wanted to give it a try. I didn't like it the first time but given how popular this place is, I decided to give it another shot only to be disappointed again. I tried the pav bhaji, bhel puri and dahi vada. Only to be disappointed by all three. :( Vada pav want served on the classic Bombay Pav, was unnecessarily spicy not favorfully spicy. Dahi vada wasnt fresh - the vada was hard and tasted something fatty like buttery. I don't get why this place is so popular? There is plenty of seating here and they really have made it into a nice food park.

We've been here a few times and have enjoyed every visit. We've had their bhel puri, raj kachori, samosa chaat, ragda pattice, dabeli, etc. Flavors are great every time. We usually ask for mild with no raw onions, and they're great at delivering what we want. Their pav bhaji was on the more exciting side of medium than mild, but in a good way. We know we'll be back.

First time trying this chaat truck. I was pleased with the food quality + taste, and was impressed by how quickly and efficiently it was prepared. We ordered the sev puri, papdi chaat and dabeli. All items came in generous portions. The sev puri had a nice tangy kick, the papdi chaat was crunchy and delicious (I love that they added Dahi). dabeli was tasty as well though my friend claims it does not taste like authentic Mumbai style dabeli. Check out this food truck next time you're in north Austin and pop over to the Indian dessert truck after to complete your dining experience!

Stopped by here with a friend to checkout Ragda patties, pav bhaji, and dabeli. This is a very homely place. I found the flavors mild and homelike instead of oily and spicy food at some other places. I'd come here to expect varieties of average tasting food but would not classify it for hot and bold in flavors.

We got paani puro from here and it was good!! I definitely liked the paani it was spicy and flavorful, I mixed the spicy one with a little bit of the sweet one too. I wish the filling for the puri had more in it instead of just dahl though

Perfect place for some Indian Chaat (street food). This is legit the best place is Austin to enjoy some chaat. Gets busy in the evenings so seating is sometimes a struggle, but overall, a must try!! My go to since day 1 :)

As a person who had never had chaat before, I really enjoyed this place!! I ordered the chaatpati special chaat and the two piece samosas. Both were great! I had no idea what the flavor profile was going to be like for the chaat and it was surprisingly sweet! It had crispy flour strips that had some sort of sweet and savory sauce on them with deep fried rice and lentil on top. The samosas were also great and was served with a sweet chutney. It was super filling so I have a ton left over, not sure how it's going to reheat though. The staff was super kind giving me suggestions of what to order and there was plenty of seating outside. I will be back :)

This place has excellent customer service and opened on time. I got the Papdi Chaat and the balance of ingredients is excellent. Chutney and chick peas are tasted good. The seating area is shaded to get away from the sun and fans are available! Overall nice ambiance! They are currently short staffed but still received our order in a timely fashion. Awesome place! Plentiful parking as well!

3 stars, yup thats how much I could muster to give u Chatpatti chaat, wish your food could be much more than what it is today. I had pav bhaji, chai and vada pav. People are nice, service is self serve as its food truck, park your car and enjoy a decent chat at this place. For pulling of a decent chat ambience I give u 5 stars. On food, there is so much more to be desired. Pav bhaji was great, 4 stars for being a fresh pav bhaji prepared with love. Vada pav, a sad 2.5, overly spicy, pre made buns(not pavs) and meh flavor. Chai 2 stars, nothing wow, fresh decent overly sweet chai. There is nothing I ate that me wish oh I need to make this place my goto place for that food, neither anything was bad, it was just avg. Sadly, thats y 3 stars. I wish to comeback someday, hopefully u can surprise me for the better then. Till then its just 3 stars.

Ooh mann! Lovely food truck!!! Vada pav - We loved it! It has all the great masalas and has a very homely taste to it! It's good without the bread and chutneys also! Raj kachori- the kachori is full of stuff! So many awesome flavors coming together in every bite, and it's very fresh, perfect for a chaat! Pav bhaji- the pav bhaji is really good too, there is one flavor which is kinda in excess, but overall it has a very good taste! 100% recommend trying this food truck!

My favorite place for Indian street food, so lucky we have this high quality place in Austin close to our home. I had their dahi batata puri the other day and it took me back to my days in Mumbai.

Dropped by here for some chaat, it did not disappoint but wasn't the best chaat either and definitely more overpriced than it should be. There are a lot of food trucks next to it incase you want variety.

I'd never had chaat before, but I was craving Indian food so I figured I'd try it out. Highly recommend this place! First of all, it's in a food truck park--the kind you used to find all over Austin with tons of various cuisines. It's got Indian, Jamaican, Middle Eastern, Thai, bbq, Mexican, etc! Second, chaat is awesome and I'll definitely be going back for more. I got the samosa chaat, which had sliced up samosas covered in slightly spicy, tangy sauce with white peas, tomatoes, and onions and fried crunchy things on top. I also got a thandai to drink (also new to me) which was milk with saffron, almonds, and masala. So good! The owner also asked what spice level I wanted my chaat at, which I appreciated. Can't wait to go back and try some more!

I don't understand some of the negative reviews. I had an excellent experience - smooth ordering, timely service given each item is prepared to order, excellent dahi puri, bhel puri, dabeli and chai! Possibly one of the best in the country - definitely better than any other Austin or even Chicago options. It truly was reminiscent of chowpatty chaat! Yummm

More fun than a barrel of monkeys. Of course, I have never spent any significant time with a barrel of monkeys. I imagine the bottom of the barrel would smell pretty foul. But Chatpatti Chaat is still just a whole lot of fun. Never mind how many primates you have climbing around your living room back home. * * * Chatpatti Chaat is a Mumbai style street food truck. You are not here for dinner. You are here for snack-a-toodies. Chatpatti Chaat is in a very very cool food court at the corner of Anderson Mill and Pond Springs. Nearly all of the food trucks here serve non-US cuisine . They are generally staffed by entrepreneurs from the appropriate nation. The menus all around look absolutely fantastic. I have been big on the food courts at 5000 Burnet and at the corner of South First and Dittmar. However, in terms of getting interesting cuisine from around the world, The food court at Anderson Mill and Pond Springs looks hard to beat. * * * Technical Geographic Note: The Anderson Mill Pond Springs food court is divided into two halves. The court runs on either side of a gigantic Brazilian capoeira studio. You can't see Side B from Side A. You can't see Side A from Side B. It is therefore kind of easy to think that your truck is not here and it must have moved. Do not despair. If you can't find your truck on your side of the Capoeira studio, Just go around the studio and look on the other side. The studio is huge so this will be a bit of a hike. The other side of the studio probably has everything you are looking for. * * * The star of the food court is Chatpatti Chaat. Lots of the trucks get business and customers. But the biggest crowds by far are at Chatpatti Chaat. While we were there, carload after carload of Indian families pulled up to the truck. Six or more people would pile out of each car and order. There was Mom. There was Dad. There were the kids. There were Mom's friends and the kids' friends. Some of the cars also had Grandma and Grampa. Amazingly, Chatpatti Chaat serves all of these people fast. No one had to wait long for their food. In the middle of this customer deluge, Food was on our table about five minutes after ordering. We were the only Anglo family there. * * * Their website says they do dosas, but there was not a dosa to be had on the menu. They do do puris. They do do samosas. They do do chaats. They do do yogurt drinks, and Indian milk tea. THE DISHES ARE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY TO DIE FOR. My wife had smashed samosa with ragda. Nearly everything here has ragda. Ragda is a combination of peas, tomatoes, chutney and onion. The stuff is insane. If I ran a food truck, I would put ragda in everything too. In this case, dump two samosas in a bowl, add a ton of ragda, stir it until it becomes smoosh, and serve it like oatmeal. I could eat that stuff all day and all night. I had puri - another house staple. These are hollowed out fried bread balls. They look like someone made miniature brandy snifters out of breakfast cereal. They look like cereal but they are addictive like popcorn. The house fills them with ragda ... a fine idea if there ever was one. You dip these into flavor sauces. How did it taste? OH MY GOD. The three sauces are tamarind, onion dal, and clear-hot. Tamarind sauce makes everything good. You could put tamarind sauce on sandpaper and sandpaper would be good eating. Tamarind with ragda and puri? All three of life's essential food groups all in one dish. The onion dal is almost as good as the tamarind. It wouldn't cover for sandpaper. But it is still fine fine fine eating. The clear-hot sauce cleared the palate from the other two items. It couldn't compete with those other all-star wonders. * * * Just for the record, Serving sizes are small - but sauce sizes are big. My wife and I finished our dishes in no time flat. But I still had 2/3 of my sauces left. I took all three sauces home and have been putting them on pita bread. I have found true pita bread happiness. * * * Sitting here at night by the food trucks Having one fantastic treat after another I felt like I was at the food carnival on the far side of the world. I have always wanted to go to the food carnival on the far side of the world. It is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Very authentic chaat! I love the vada pav and dahi puri here. Would highly recommend it!

Indian chats are good, it's a food truck and there are lot of other food trucks too and it has a nice sitting area to enjoy food

Food: 5. We tried Vada Pav, Bhel, and Masala Chai. Everything was awesome. Service: The owner was a nice person and service was really well organized with clicker, and it was fast with hot. Ambiance: We visited during winter and it was awesome to enjoy hot Vada Pav.

The service is good, but the samosas are great! Fresh, perfectly filled and full of flavor. I will definitely be back to order more so I can add to my review, but definitely try the samosas!

Very close to the authentic Indian street food. Don't miss the PAO BHAJI and the SPECIAL CHAAT. We went their for dinner and the sev puri and dahi bhalle were good too. I am a pao bhaji fan! The person behind the counter is very friendly.

This place does not live up to the hype. A lot of people said that this is similar to the street food you get in India but if Sev Puri is being served in a Pani Puri ka puri then you are from the wrong part of the chat loving India. Food does not taste anything like home and is very very average. The paneer puff is a frozen tortilla filled with weirdly marinated schezwan paneer .... Whatttt!!! The only good or wait .. half decent thing was the mango lassi. Hard pass on this place. The reason for 2 stars and not 1 is that the quality of the ingredients wasn't bad but the overall taste wasn't good at all.

Came here with my kids. We ordered the chatpatti special chaat, the sev puri, and the pav bhaji. First time eating this type of Indian cuisine and it was an absolute home run. The three dishes each complemented each other. The special chaat was sweet, the pav bhaji was savory and spicy, and the sev puri bridged the two!! A rollercoaster of flavors! We capped the meal off with some gulab jamun and it hit the spot! The owners were very welcoming and the food came out lightning fast. We will definitely come back soon to try more.

I'm so happy that this place is so close to my apartment. I can easily hop on my scooter and get a quick bite to eat. They have many popular Indian street food items. The ladies inside are also super friendly. I love their Vada Pav (pronounced Wada Pao). It's a very popular Mumbai street food consisting of a fried ball of spiced mashed potatoes in a warm bun. Theirs is very good and affordable! I love the heat and if you need a bigger kick, they also give you the traditional green chilies. The garlic chutney they put on this is fantastic. Highly recommend getting one or two of these. Their special chaat is really well balanced. There's something magical that happens when you get a bite with the cilantro, pomegranate, and chutneys. Their puri is also good, though I wish they were the more flat ones. I really need to try the Bhel Puri next time I go! I'm thankful they don't pre-fill the puri so they don't get soggy. While the samosas were okay, I didn't enjoy them because they were cold. They were nothing to write home about. Not pictured here is the Gulab Jamun. They were tasty for $1 each and a sweet end to the meal. I will definitely be back to try the Bhel Puri and the Dabeli!

Glad to see another Indian street food, food truck open just by the house. Located at the chevron gas station lot by lakeline mall dr and lake creek parkway . Can't way to see this one open and try their food. Menu looks great. They have chaats(quiet a variety), South Indian snack dishes and desserts. Hoping they keep up to the taste, quality and authentic flavors.

Food - awesome and delicious food. Very close to what we get back home in India. Must try every item on the menu Customer Service - really good and accommodating. Quick service based on the high volume of orders they receive.

This is our goto place for the Indian chaats! Raj kachauri is a must try and a very flavorful option.

Chapatti Chaat is our go-to food truck. Every time we go, we definitely order vada pav. My husband is from Mumbai and claims that this is the one of the best Pav Bhaji. We love their Dhabeli and the Chatpatti special chaat as well. Love, love this place and would certainly recommend.

This is as good as it gets in Austin. Really enjoyed the pani puri and the pav bhaji. Also tried the raj kachori and the ragda patice which were good. But the Pani puri is just fantastic! Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. PS: The seating area is very kid and dog friendly.

I made the long trek from downtown to this food truck up north as we have been hearing from friends about this new place serving authentic North Indian chaat. And I will say that I was not disappointed....no, intact I was so happy! We finally have a place close to Austin for chaat. I went bonkers and ordered vada pav, dahi puri, Raj kachori, mango lassi. Every single item was authentic, mouth watering and beautiful to see and taste. The to go packing was impressive considering these dishes have sauces which can make the chaat unappetizing if soaking for too long. The kind man and woman at the window told me that they will be moving to a better location soon and I am hoping and praying they come closer to the city!

Everything here is delicious. Been here multiple times, my favorites are the pav bhaji and papdi chat. The mango lassi is great and a good serving. If this place was closer I would go more often, but I still make the hike from downtown when I'm craving some good Indian street food.

Baffling. Each dish seems to have a minimum of 5 utterly superfluous ingredients, which only serve detract from a coherent experience. Unexpected and unwelcome mix of savory + sweet (including dried fruit and fresh pomegranate on their "recommended" offering.)

This place is delicious, very friendly management. The food is fresh and the location is so close to where I live it's not even funny. I will be going here often!

Saw there was a new food truck down the road and had to try the Indian food! We ordered the Chatpatti Special Chaat, Sev Puri and Samosas. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Was the first time eating Chaat and will be back to try more dishes!

Some of these best chaat in North Austin. Get there early, or you will be waiting in lines for food and tables.

Visited the food truck with the family yesterday. Loved the food and the fast service. The items are uniquely made and taste wonderful. Loved the raj kachori and the pani puri. The puri for the pain puri seemed to be made from scratch and confirmed with the owner. The thandai was great for the hot weather. The portions are good. They have shaded sitting which makes the heat much bearable. Would definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

Loved their chaat! They do get very full and busy on weekends, so your order may take some time. Worth the wait though, their food is delicious. The ladies inside are constantly working and taking orders efficiently. Good job!

Hands-down the most authentic and yummy chat I've eaten not just in Austin but between Austin and Houston! I wish they had a better location that was more kid-friendly and had more shade.

Been there multiple times since they opened,including 3 times within a week of them opening. That might be "enough said" for some. :) My wife and I like chaat, and with Chatpatti Chaat, we finally have a chaat place in Austin that we like. We have tried many of their chaat dishes and have not been disappointed with any of them. Love their special Chatpatti chaat, the Raj Kachori, the radga patties, the vada pav, dabeli ... If you like chaat, indian street food, then give this place a shot. Hope you enjoy it like we do.

I visited Chatpatti Chat yesterday night with my family for dinner and had ordered Paav Bhaji, Dahi Puri and Cheese Grilled sandwich. We noticed: Prices for chat are way too high Paav Bhaaji was way too spicy Dahi Puri was soggy Cheese Grilled sandwich was way too spicy and delivered without being grilled Overall had an extremely bad experience, will neither visit the place again nor recommend.

We drove 30min to get here on a chilly rainy day and boy was it worth it!! An unassuming food truck next to a gas station, it was abuzz with customers despite the weather so that's always a good sign. Pani puri - delicious and just perfect! So good that I had to get seconds. Bravo! Dabeli - perfectly seasoned filling in a buttery toasted bun. Definitely coming back for this as well Vada pav - I love how hot and fresh it was served. Slightly disappointed in flavor profile and that it was served in a regular burger bun instead of the traditional pav. The fried green chili was the most disappointing. All it needed was a little love and salt. Oh well Papdi chaat - mediocre. Too tangy. The papdi was flimsy and greasy Masala chai - totally hit the spot, 5 stars for this Gulab jamun - perfectly made

Favorite chaat in austin! The puris for pani puri are so fresh, unlike what I've tested anywhere else in austin! We've introduced many others to this place and they have all raced about it too.
