"Located in the Green Valley neighborhood of Henderson, chef Jose Rodriguez’s restaurant Chavelos offers a colorful and fiesta-like atmosphere. Known for its signature molcajetes available in both meat and seafood, this establishment is one of a few places on the list with vegetarian dishes on the menu. Dine on avocado tacos or opt for spinach and mushroom enchiladas. Patrons can also wet their whistles with a variety of Mexican tequilas on the outdoor patio." - Toni Gonzales, Janna Karel

The service was to die for. Do yourself a favor and order the El Jefe. It is like a flavor explosion. We also got the fajitas and chimi. The fajitas had tons of meat and veggies and were so good. The chimi was I exactly what I need in my life today. Thank you

Permanently closed 😢 Coyotes was more than a restaurant — it was a cornerstone of culture, flavor, and community. A longtime favorite for authentic Mexican cuisine and unforgettable drinks, it delivered excellence with heart. Though the doors have closed, the legacy lives on. Deep gratitude to the entire staff for years of passion and hospitality. **************** Updated Response: Thank you for the clarification! Our experience was quite different—there’s currently a large sign that still says Coyotes, which we’ve visited for about 10 years, and a notice on the door stating “permanently closed,” with the doors locked to all business. If this is in transition to a new establishment, I’d be happy to update my comment once it’s officially up and running. As of now, the posted signage and our experience reflect otherwise. Wishing you the best of luck moving forward!

Absolutely the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to. When we walked in the door the place had a funky smell; we should have just acknowledged that and left, but we didn't. We ordered a couple of margaritas (they were weak) and chicken street tacos, chicken quesadillas, and guacamole. The guacamole had a ridiculous amount of onions and tomatoes and not enough avocado. The chicken was "shredded" but honestly had the texture and flavor like it was from a can... and it was incredibly watery! Puddles on the plates and squirting out when we took a bite. We didn't take more than a single bite each of the 3 items. We asked for the check and when the waitress asked how our meal was, we let he know how watery and flavorless the chicken was... and she replied, "that's how we make it." Well, okay then. I'll be sure to warn others.

Cute little spot. Not fancy. Bring the children.. The chips and salsa are yummy (Homemade and a little spicy, not crazy !!!) Wonderful menu options. I am a Vegetarian and there were plenty of fantastic looking items I've never seen. Go on by. And when weather is permitting, it seems like u can go outside. Tvs are on for sports!!!

I recently visited Chavalos Mexican Restaurant and was incredibly impressed with their exceptional service. As a vegan, I often struggle to find suitable options at traditional Mexican eateries, but the manager and staff at Chavalos went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs. Although there wasn't anything specifically vegan on the menu, they took the initiative to prepare a special dish for me. They brought out a delightful combination of beans and salad, ensuring that I didn't leave the restaurant hungry. This kind gesture is something I haven't experienced anywhere else, and it truly made my visit memorable.

The food was so gross and then when we told our server, he and the manager argued with us. They charge $4 for chips and salsa- she said every mexian restaurant out here charges for chips and salsa (NO THEY DONT) Our meat was cold and watery- and she said it wasn't- was arguing-IT WAS COLD- the cheese wasn't even melted. They were so rude. And it's sad because their chips and salsa are so good. And she let us know they will be raising their prices.to it top it off we could hear them talking crap about us in the back. It was empty in there and now we know why. Very sad and disappointed. Edit to respond- there is no way that the meat was still 178° after it was already cold when it came to us and it sat at our table for 10 mins. Before we complained- also if it was at 178° it would have melted the cheese on its own. Also I'm not surprised with your response of no accountability because I saw the other reviews. Your customer service is horrible.

We went towards the end of lunch and disappointingly were informed that it's between lunch specials and Happy Hour... Thus it was a bit of an expensive event with 2 meals+ 2 basic drinks ringing in at over $60... There were 5 kinds of enchiladas and the 2 options we selected were fantastic! The chips with salsa was great and the bean dip was the star of it all!! Margarita was a bit bland and weak, the draft Modelo was significantly better. It stayed kinda empty even during Happy Hour on that Friday afternoon. But, we'll definitely be back for great Mexican food but will have to time it better for a more affordable option...
