"Located in the roof of Barrio Alameda, you get a unique view at the ‘Alameda Central’ a green garden with paved paths and decorative fountains that used to be an Aztec marketplace. Every morning in the common area table, you will enjoy a nice continental breakfast that will be taken to the next level with one of chef Diego Insunza’s mexican dishes, in our case [hand-made sopes]. Decor and architecture is very chic and modern with a touch of mexican elegance. When you enter Chaya, you will feel as if you have discovered a lost oasis, and any possible stress you had will instantly dissipate." - Bryant Castro & Abel Coss from Open Late

"How did it strike you on arrival? The first thing you'll notice after climbing multiple flights of stairs (it's an old building without an elevator) is how calm and tranquil this boutique hotel is. Nice. What’s the crowd like? While the airy, minimalist design would suggest that guests are trendy millennials, the location actually attracts a lot of families, older couples, and solo travelers—all of whom appreciate the hotel's proximity to important tourist sites. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 11 rooms have white walls, light wood furniture, and splashes of color on the chairs and curtains. The Master Suite is almost double the size of the regular rooms and has a free-standing bath in the corner. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The comfortable mattresses are topped with stark-white cotton sheets. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?I loved the bath products from Mexican brand LoredAna, which uses natural botanical ingredients. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathrooms are functional and spacious, with a minimalist aesthetic that incorporates mixed materials like metal, stone, and wood. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? There is free Wi-Fi across the hotel and it works well. Room service: Worth it?No room service but breakfast is included. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The rooftop terrace has a hammock area where you can relax and plan your next adventure in the city. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?Tap the staff when you need a recommendation; they're incredibly helpful and intent on making sure that you get the most out of your trip to Mexico. Bottom line: worth it, and why?You get the best of both worlds: Chaya BnB Boutique is a beautiful, light an airy option right in the hustle and bustle of downtown." - Susannah Rigg

"The hotel may be located in the bustling downtown area of Mexico City, but the 11 airy rooms make it a tranquil oasis from the chaos that surrounds. Proximity to important tourist sites attract families, older couples, and solo travelers, while the minimalist aesthetic speaks to trendy millennials. Be sure to ask the staff for recommendations; they're extremely helpful and intent on ensuring you have the best possible experience in Mexico City." - Susannah Rigg

This is an excellent hostel/hotel that we would highly recommend! It is in a brilliant location in the centre of Mexico city, walking distance from the main sites and there are lots of restaurants nearby. It has a very cool, traveller vibe but they have thought of everything here and they provide you with everything you need. We particularly liked all the plants and hammocks on the terrace. The people here are also friendly and extremely helpful, telling us all their local knowledge of the things to do. The breakfast is really good, the Mexican omelette and the dishes they cook for you are excellent. Thank you Chaya for a great first part of our honeymoon.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The room was nice and full of light, a great place to come back to after a long day out in the city. The breakfast had great options and was delicious every morning and the people that worked there were very helpful and nice. The location of the hotel was great as well, just a few steps from the metro and close to many restaurants and shops as well as a beautiful park. If we're ever in Mexico City again my girlfriend and I will definitely be staying there again.

Chaya is the best place I’ve ever stayed. The quality of comfort and design is top tier in the details of the shower, bath, and the bed sheets— all so comfortable. Plants at every turn. If you want to take pics for Instagram etc., you will love it here. The breakfast that is included is so lavish and delicious. The staff is a huge part of how great this place is. Reception is also English speaking and very helpful with concierge services. Consistently available via what’s app. Third floor walk up so street noise is not too bad. The terrace with hammocks so serene— great for a morning or evening read. Location is great bc it’s right next to a square but I did not have a huge issue with street noise. Highly recommend Chaya.

Perfect location for visiting CDMX. The place is really nice because so different from a classic hotel. The breakfast offers two daily dishes to choose from and some jogurt, granola, fresh fruit, toasts. The rooms are very well designed and the terrace with hammocks is just a perfect way to close the day! So relaxing. The only minus I have to give them it’s regarding the trip to Puebla that was organized with them but it turned out to be a disaster: expensive, the guide was barely talking to us and had no idea on how the day was going to develop. It’s a pity since we counted on them and the trip was not cheap!

Really nice B & B set on a park. The staff was all extremely helpful with directions and things to see and do. The cleaning staff was great the room was always spotless and organized for us, and the breakfast every morning was better than most B&B's I have stayed in. The terrace hammocks and cactus garden is a nice place to relax.

Great location in Mexico City! It’s right across from Alameda park and next to a market with delicious food and dancing at night. Definitely find the churros :) the room was clean and cozy, and the breakfast was delicious. Overall we had a great experience!
