Chaya B&B Boutique

"How did it strike you on arrival? The first thing you'll notice after climbing multiple flights of stairs (it's an old building without an elevator) is how calm and tranquil this boutique hotel is. Nice. What’s the crowd like? While the airy, minimalist design would suggest that guests are trendy millennials, the location actually attracts a lot of families, older couples, and solo travelers—all of whom appreciate the hotel's proximity to important tourist sites. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 11 rooms have white walls, light wood furniture, and splashes of color on the chairs and curtains. The Master Suite is almost double the size of the regular rooms and has a free-standing bath in the corner. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The comfortable mattresses are topped with stark-white cotton sheets. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?I loved the bath products from Mexican brand LoredAna, which uses natural botanical ingredients. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathrooms are functional and spacious, with a minimalist aesthetic that incorporates mixed materials like metal, stone, and wood. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? There is free Wi-Fi across the hotel and it works well. Room service: Worth it?No room service but breakfast is included. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The rooftop terrace has a hammock area where you can relax and plan your next adventure in the city. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?Tap the staff when you need a recommendation; they're incredibly helpful and intent on making sure that you get the most out of your trip to Mexico. Bottom line: worth it, and why?You get the best of both worlds: Chaya BnB Boutique is a beautiful, light an airy option right in the hustle and bustle of downtown." - Susannah Rigg
