Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs

Great variety of choices. Liked my sandwich, didn't absolutely love it hence the rating. Garlic pretzel bites were good. If it was closer, I would probably visit more often to try different sandwiches because the options were great with fun names.

Love the plant power sub. 8inch was not big enough. The guac is tasty. The Cilantro Hummus is light tasting, almost like it works with the guac. The greens are fresh, soaked in some dressing already but that just makes the whole sandwich tasty. Loved the pickle in it. I had the sandwich the way it comes and was not disappointed. Seriously would love to try the other subs. The atmosphere is nice however, the bathroom was quite dirty & overall cleanliness can be improved.

As a 50+ yo "townie" in Denton, I try to stay out of the college kids' space but thos place has been calling me for a while now. The subs are great (I had the meatball) but the vibe is even better. They have a great patio (completely in the shade, essential for North Texas) and plenty of seating. The menu also includes KoolAid and rice crispy treats...just like mom would make! Now that I have been I promise to keep my old a$$ out of there in the evenings, while you guys are hanging at the bar (yes - a sub shop where you can grab a beer) but I am going to tell everyone they should go enjoy it for themselves and I cannot be responsible for the rest of the "townies."

As far as sandwiches go, this establishment is your BMW of sub sandwiches. Expect explosive flavors with an explosive price. I had the chicken teriyaki sandwich and was very impressed with how well the flavors blended to make such an impressive sandwich. The chicken wasn’t rubbery or sketch like most places. The wheat bread was fresh and tasty. We had a 6” sub, one 12” sub, one bag of chips, one drink and spent over $35+ for that…so be prepared to hand over a small fortune to acquire these sandwiches. I would’ve gave them 5 stars but the pricing is a little dramatic so I deducted one. I could only imagine coming here half baked, I would be eating $100 worth of subs 😂 (this place is a weed vibe type of place hence why I said that.) 😆

I took the Panama Red sub, ate it, within 2-3 hours I had severe stomach pain! Nobody comes here so probably old outdated ingredients are used. I’m typing with with so much pain right now. Message to the restaurant- Please please use fresh food to prepare. The sauce should also be fresh not decomposed or old.

Tried a new place, the Nachos were LIT, you would not be disappointed the garlic cheese bread was so good. We ordered subs as well but I like more spice food so didn’t like it much but my friends did like em. Try Nachos(they are FIREE, YUM and they had a sauce on top which was unique and tasty.) and Garlic bread.

Easily my Favorite Sandwich Chain of all time. Not a single bad thing on the menu. Fun and enjoyable atmosphere with suiting food that pairs with the place perfectly. Been here a dozen times. Will definitely be here a dozen more at the very least.

I really enjoyed the 5–0 sandwich. You need combination of flavors on the garlic bread and the pickles added a nice sour touch. Friendly service quick and easy pick up. The interior is nice with a typical college town vibe stickers throughout.

Good food, great service and the vibe was chill. Love the artwork all over. My first time here. I would go back again. Bar was a good place to window watch. The bartender was friendly. Good selection of beers. We had the Odell Sippin Pretty beer. A light refreshing beer with a hint of grapefruit.

Decent toasted sandwiches right by campus with a few unique options, but not near enough meat. It doesn't need to be piled high but 2 thin slivers is not enough. Good thing the bread was decent since that's mainly all you were eating. I will say their rice Krispy treats were good!

Finally got to try this place today and it did not disappoint!! The vibes and the customer service were amazing!! Everyone was so nice and chill and the music was on point!! They have plenty of seating inside and super cute shaded patio area outside. Love it!! For my meal, I got the 5-0 sandwich, with a side of their ranch and a side of their shake & house dressing. Even though I got the smallest sandwich size, it was still so delicious and so filling!! Their ranch was some of the best I've ever had!! Seriously so good and clearly made in house!! I highly recommend getting a side of ranch if your sandwich doesn't come with it, so bomb!! I love everything about this spot and will absolutely be back!!

Great staff, nice ambiance! My go to sandwich is the white widow. My gf and I favorite spot to go after leaving class!

Originally I gave it 5/5 stars- superb experience and service. Inside is super unique and even though it's a chain I thought it was perfectly fitting the Denton area especially for UNT area. However, my order was messed up so when I got home so I called about it and the girl on the phone was super sweet and said it would be no issue and I could get a new sandwich free of charge the next day. I went and was greeted with a rude staff member- not sure if he was the manager but it was very awkward for me going up and saying I had gotten the 12 inch sandwich. I remember ordering the most expensive size because I wanted to have some left over. But seemed like he didn't believe me. He could've looked in the system for my credit card because I was there just the day before. I left feeling sad. I had just finished telling my husband the night before how awesome this place was and how we should come together to check it out bc he would love the vibe. It's hard because I loved my first experience just very not pleasant second time around.

We have never had a bad sandwich at Cheeba Hut! I mean come on meatballs with grape jelly and bacon!? Delicious! Cool stuff like Doritos nachos, rice crispy treats and koolaid. Good stuff!

I love this place even though I have not physically been in the store yet. I always order from Uber eats. Their food is so good and you can scroll through their menu and just drool because it all sounds good. The subs are a combination of flavors that only a stoner, an experienced chef or maybe both could come up with.

Sitting next to two police officers chowing down at a weed themed sub shop added the perfect je ne sais quoi to the overall pleasure of this lunch experience. The Griefo is amazing. Get it with Jalepeño cream cheese. Huge variety of other things to try, as well. Full selection of kool aids and craft beers for the connoisseurs. Great variety of cereal marshmallow heaven bars to choose from. Service is courteous and fast! Counter style except if you sit at the bar...technically also a counter.

Super tasty. Food was good. Eclectic vibe. Service was good. Thursday nights are trivia nights from 730-830. Will go back for a sandwich and trivia.

First off, let it be known half my family is Italian and I was raised on understanding great italian food. Second...not sure the origin of this place but as an Italian, they have THE best bread! Other actual claimed "italian" places' bread....poo. Also, I have never actually stepped foot into this establishment so the fact that the bread survives uber/doordash is a remarkable win! Delicious. My go to is always an Italian sub but this place makes me want to step outside my comfort zone, have tried at least 5 different sandwiches and NONE have disappointed!! YUM.

Been on the hunt for a great sandwich in the metroplex and finally found it. The Bread texture was fantastic and fresh and the meat was delicious.

I got the turkey and roast beef. My husband the French dip. My son got the buffalo chicken sandwich. All were amazing. I was trying to save for later, but that didn't happen. I had to eat it at one. This place has top-notch sandwiches. You've got to try it.

I love the crew here so much. pedro is always so friendly on the register. what really kept me coming back was the first time i connected with violet. she's someone i find myself relating with and who is always up to date on deals & how i can benefit. i think staff truly matters. human connection is at the vein of all food experiences. also my sandwiches come out consistently AMAZING every single time. they portion their meats and care about my sandwich. Checked this place out with some of the fam, it's been about a week and I'm still coming down from my contact high! Haha. The Sandos are pretty tasting, funny atmosphere for a sandwich shop, similar to a Freebird's that does sandwiches. We got one of the special 4/20 Frisbees too, the garlic bread came out on it! The Kool-Aid was a great pairing for the Sandos, we also got one of the Cocoa Pebble Treats. Check this place out for sure if your even the least bit curious!

Really mid food. All flavor comes from sauce. Much better sandwich shops in the metroplex. Bathrooms were trashed with poo. Gotta be high to give this place anything higher than three stars.

SUMMARY: Absolutely hilarious sandwich names but more importantly the best sandwich bread in town and my first experience was a good one. Coming back for sure! BACKGROUND: In my quest to expand my lunch options, my coworker took me to Cheba Hut to get our grub on. ATMOSPHERE: CH has a nice retail space on the first floor of this mixed business/residential complex right across from UNT. Very clean, Cheba-themed artwork that's tastefully and humorously done. They have a little bar area as well, which unfortunately we could not partake in during lunch hours. FOOD I had the G-13, which I'm sure is one of many pot themed sandwiches that I have no clue behind the meaning. But that ok because it's a turkey meat sandwich that hit on all cylinders. The best part was the bread. I'm trying to cut the carbs by eating sandwiches open faced, but not here. Ate it ALL. The bread was freshly toasted, crusty on the outside, and soft on the inside. PERFECT. the ingredients looked and tasted fresh. Absolutely great lunch and the price was consistent with the majority of sandwich shops in the area. They had a good selection of sodas and iced teas. Look for the rap cult hero when you dispense your ice :) SERVICE Very good! The young brunette gal at the register was very nice, helpful, and funny. The sever who brought out our food and checked with us later was cool too. RETURN VISIT? Can't wait!

We were passing through Denton and search Google for a sandwich shop. I asked the cashier to order me his favorite - no clue what it was called but dang it was good! Firey Diesel or something! Turkey jalapeño cream cheese salami bacon and lettuce tomato onion... stupid good! Pretty sure it was garlic bread Then the 5-0 it is just dumb how good these sandwiches were. Grape Kool-aid!!! Why don't more restaurants serve kool-aid???

We went around 10pm and there were a few people inside eating. The workers were extremely friendly and gave us helpful suggestions while figuring out what to order. I got the kali, and the sandwich was super tasty. It takes a little longer than expected for it to come out, but they clearly put in the time to make it good.

Cheba never disappoints! Having just moved here from Arizona this was a sight for sore eyes LOL Staff was friendly, service was attentive and quick. Which I already knew it would be because I was a frequent customer of Cheba in Arizona

We love Cheba Hut!! I always get the Cali Mist, hubby always mixes it up with the local favorites, and our son always gets a cold salami sandwich. Their pretzel bits and munchies are a nice treat. It's always so consistent and delicious. Our favorite subs hands down. Everything is always fresh and we've never gotten an unfavorable order. We drive over 25 minutes just to come to Denton for these subs. The place is usually clean including the bathrooms. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The vibes are great and the service is also great.

Had sandwiches many times and also to go but was asking questions about what was a certain kind of meat and could I add or replace one with a different kind. Very rude response by the young lady on every question. Never had this experience before but I walked out without ordering due to the attitude

I'm not really a fan of sandwiches, but Cheba Hut's sandwiches have converted me into a sandwich fan. They're so good! The bread is fresh and soft, but toasted to perfection. The meats and toppings are of quality. The decor is cute. They often have events going on. It can be quite loud. We love the atmosphere, but to-go might be a better option for some people. I love that they offer 4 inch subs as an option for smaller appetites. I would not recommend the nachos "not'chos". Pretty gross - super small portion of nacho flavored doritos covered in tabasco sauce, ranch, jalepenos, and olives. Everything else has been amazing though!

I know this place is like "meant for stoners" but I truly believe you wouldn't be able to enjoy any of their sandwiches unless you are insanely high. Just bad quality overall and overpriced in my opinion.

I got the Midwest best with og hummus and sirarcha sauce. Trust me it was definitely heavenly

I give this place Five stars all around! From the service I received, to the wait time to the amazing sandwich. I especially love how seasoned the meat is. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich and will back. Oh yes, and the environment of the restaurant is such a good vibe!

This place just opened up my son took me there for lunch the staff was outstanding atmosphere was awesome the sandwiche I got the 5 0 it was totally Awesome. Plenty of meat I got the garlic bread for my choice of bread it was great the sandwiche had was straight up delicious my son got the white Widow he said it was delicious if looking for great place to get a sandwich this the place the have a bar too if need a cold beer or drink

I feel like each time I return it's like a form of self hatred. I've came to this location multiple times due to the convenience, and each time the order is wrong. Once I came and they just gave me a completely different sandwich which required me to return back to the shop to retrieve the sandwich I paid for...I should have gotten gas reimbursed. The most recent time, half of the ingredients in the sandwich seized to exist. It was plain jane and such a waste of my money. If it were a busier day, I would understand and extend some grace but for me being the only person order, there really isn't an excuse. At this point, I'd rather have gone to subway, so I know that my sandwich is getting made properly. What a waste of my money (eye roll)

If you're craving a sandwich this is the place to get one in Denton. This place has an amazing atmosphere with good daily specials every day of the week! Will definitely come back for another sandwich.

Overrated. Sandwich was just "blah". Nothing to get excited about Service was lackluster. Like they really could care less. If you're close by and want a quick sandwich then it's not an awful choice. It is over priced. Don't go out of your way to get there

I just moved to Denton three weeks ago and I got dinner from here tonight. I got sandwiches for myself and my two young adult kids. All of them agreed with me that these subs are seriously good and are much better than an average sub. I don't think Cheba Hut is even in the same league as other sub chains. The 420 theme is funny and cool. But on that note, I happened to get the munchies tonight (*cough*) and I had thought in advance to get one of the crispy treats, just to see if they were all that. OMG, y'all are geniuses!! This is so amazingly good and addictive!

Food 4-Star Service 2-Star (everyone was polite but getting food out quickly wasn't a priority). Ordered in store to eat there and waiting 45 minutes for sandwiches is ridiculous!!!! They had plenty of employees but no one had any sense of urgency. I get there were a lot of to go orders but in store patrons should never wait 45 minutes! We had plenty of time and ended having to take part of our order to go and we were late because they were so slow! One sandwich came out wrong after waiting that long. Thank goodness the sandwich was delicious but still not worth a 45 minute wait. Not sure I will go back because of the slow service.

I love Cheba but so much. I always come get when I'm craving a really good sandwich. My favorite is the grape ape or the Acapulco good sandwich. Shoutout to Kason! She was so helpful when taking my order and she offered me a water cup.

Best goddamn "Italian" sandwich I've ever had. 5-0 is definitely a must try if you love sandwiches. Definitely going to be eating here a lot more.

Fun Place delicious subs and homemade sauces. My favorite so far is the horseradish sauce. Plan to continue exploring their menu! They also have a bar, outdoor seating and cornhole.

Unfortunately, I fell ill several hours after eating here. Maybe a coincidence, but I won't go back.
