Chicago’s Restaurants and Bars Fully Reopen Friday, But Are There Enough Workers? | Eater Chicago
"A Noble Square Checkers location recently closed, underscoring how chain restaurants can be stuck when a shuttered site can’t easily be repurposed amid staffing and operational strains." - Naomi Waxman
Chicago’s new restaurant and bar openings and reopenings, summer 2020 | Eater Chicago
"After more than a year and a half of delays, the now-infamous Checkers in the Polish Triangle finally opened, offering the chain’s menu of burgers, wings, and its famously seasoned fries; orders are available via Postmates." - Naomi Waxman
Facing Eviction, Six Corners Bar Fischman Public House to Close Sunday | Eater Chicago
"I learned that the long-awaited Noble Square Checkers, first announced this summer and originally slated to debut in July, has pushed its opening to Monday; the new fast-food location at 1555 W. Division Street sits just beside a Popeyes owned by the same franchisee, and a company representative did not provide reasons for the delays." - Naomi Waxman
Foundation Tavern & Grille Employee Dies After Workplace Stabbing | Eater Chicago
"A fast-food burger chain is opening a new location at 1555 W. Division Street on December 27, adjacent to a recently opened Popeyes run by the same franchisee, Aby Mohamed; the opening was delayed by finishing touches after a five-month delay, and the site will be the chain’s closest to downtown among its 26 local locations as part of a plan to add roughly 100 new spots in the Chicago area." - Naomi Waxman
Popeyes, Checkers to open soon in Noble Square | Eater Chicago
"Opening July 16 at 1555 W. Division Street in the Polish Triangle, this new fast-food burger location is positioned to attract younger, trendier customers and is the closest outlet to downtown among the roughly two dozen local locations. The franchisee, Aby Mohamed, received permission to run this site and a neighboring fried-chicken restaurant; the two will remain separate operations with distinct kitchens and public entrances, connected only by an interior hallway, and will not commingle brands. The concept is value-minded—targeting roughly $5 meals—and highlights all‑beef burgers, bold, cravable flavors, and seasoned fries that are popular enough to be sold frozen in grocery stores. The brand dates to 1986, was acquired by private equity in 2017, and is pursuing aggressive expansion in the Chicago area as part of a plan to add many more locations. This particular storefront, which lacks a drive‑thru, sits next to a 1930s-era building formerly home to older local burger concepts and recently received retro-looking tile work." - Ashok Selvam

Service was slow (order took a little over 10 Min and had to wait more than 5min to order.) but as a recently opened place they may still be working out the kinks. The staff was noticeably frazzled (cashier had me reach over the counter to rip off my own recent even) and though a little snappy with one another they were polite to customers.
I didn't think the Cheese champ burger was particularly special but it wasn't bad, I will say I prefer Wendy's down the street for a cheap/fast burger or Lawn next door for a more expensive one. The fries were pretty good but may not be for everyone (strangely enough I felt the had a cheese taste to them but I kind of liked it). I heard the bacon burger is pretty good but doubt I will come by to try it again.

First time at Checkers. Received coupon for a free Big Buford for being a T-Mobile customer (T-Mobile Tuesday). Added their seasoned fries and 2 apples for an additional $1. The Buford was great (2 patties). Meat was tender and burger was flavorful. Especially liked their fries. Tasted great. Different then your fast food fries from other places. Apple pie a little to sweet for my taste, but you can't beat the price. Thanks!!!!!

Don’t eat here until they find reliable workers. Everything is pre cooked and dried out. When I received my burgers and the buns where cold the cheese never melted. The patties where dried out as well lettuce look like it was from the day before. My fries where soggy and also dried out. Bout the only thing that was good was the soda. The workers where cursing and complaining about working hours. I knew something was wrong when I received my food before the guy who ordered his before me. But again I was in a rush 30min break and paying for parking has to get back. Wasted my 7 bucks and tried to eat the burger but I just couldn’t. 🤮

I was hoping for better. Manager wore half mask, service slow, food average. Nothing worth bragging about. Plus it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned, aren't you new??

Service always been quick and accurate. The location is a tough spot to get to on a busy street corner without a drive-thru so just be aware.
