After 5:40am tee time and walking off the course at about 8:30am, it was time for a good breakfast! I was all for the café at the golf course, but my buddies insisted we try a spot call Morning After Breakfast because the food looked good. So I checked it out and the food did actually look good. So I told Siri to get me driving directs there and in no time, I arrived.
After parking, we were looking around for the spot, but we couldn't find it! So we asked a worker a spot called "Cheebo" and it turns out our original selection doesn't exist anymore and Cheebo was the new spot, however, we could still order from Morning After Breakfast's menu by the extremely helpful, nice and funny hostess/waiter. TBH saying one place doesn't exist anymore, however, we can "still order from it's menu" was a flag for me.
Once seated, I got this barn bar, hipster atmosphere. As we settled in, we looked through both Cheebo's physical menu and Morning After Breakfast's online menu and wouldn't you know it, the place that no longer exists beat out Cheebo's menu by a long shot for all three of us!
Between the three of us we ordered:
- French Toast
- Veggie Omelette
- Breakfast Potatoes
- An Arnold Palmer
- Coffee with Almond Milk
- PBJ French Toast
- A Break Fast combo (eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast)
- Orange Juice
- Chicken 'n Waffle
- Iced Coffee
A pretty hefty amount of food! Haha okay so here comes the most important part of my review. And don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking this spot at all. I am, however, always brutally honest for you.
The chicken & "waffle" - the waffle was extremely small and had a different texture to it, almost as if it was frozen and then prepared in a toaster, then cooled and toasted again. The fried chicken was under-seasoned borderline not seasoned and overcooked, borderline dry. (2 out of 5)
Both French toasts were bland and undercooked (mush) in certain areas. For the PBJ FT, my buddy said that the only thing that he could taste was peanut butter, but that it actually saved the actual bland French toast. And for the cherry on top, he found a hair in it! (2 out of 5) (please note - the waitress had them fire another plate and took it off the check - that save the 2 lol)
The breakfast potatoes were dry and, unfortunately, again, under/unseasoned (I mean not even pepper or salt). The ketchup saved them. (2 out of 5)
The Veggie Omelette was actually pretty good. Still a bit on the bland side, but the flavor from all of the veggies saved it from the same fate of the rest of the food! (4 out of 5)
Overall: I give Cheebos/Morning After Breakfast 3 out of 5 stars and only because our waitress was really nice and took care of us and the actually presentation of the food was good. Oh, and not to mention, the restrooms were really nice lol!
I'd say go try it for yourself and let me know!!
