The Best Restaurants in Bay Ridge

"The cheese and bread in question at this Georgian cafe is khachapuri, which they have in at least five different varieties, baked fresh each morning. Pick up a flaky piece of khachapuri penovani and a coffee to-go, or stay for a full meal at one of the cafe tables. There isn’t much ambience, but they serve a full menu of solid Georgian food until 11pm. Stop by for a late dinner of khinkali and lula kebabs, or take home some pre-made soups, salads, and cheeses from the refrigerators on the side." - neha talreja

Google
When it first opened staff was nice, food was good, but the last few times I went I can't say the same. Staff did not acknowledge me- one time the lady just had a personal conversation the entire time and did not say one word to me. She just rang me up and barely even made eye contact. The coffee was bad. The salad was spoiled. So disappointing. Before you try, please read their DOHMH Inspection Report- I made the mistake of looking it up after my spoiled salad 🤢

Yelp
Small Georgian spot in bay ridge. This tiny family-run spot serves the most phenomenal khachapuri I've had in New York City. The cheese-filled bread is a molten masterpiece - generously sized, sooooo cheesy, and baked to golden perfection. It's more than just a restaurant your new fav kachipuri spot, it's a mini Georgian deli where you can grab takeaway meals, stock up on traditional drinks, and snag freshly made desserts from the fridge. Small quick, grab and go, with some seating. For anyone craving a genuine taste of Georgia without leaving Brooklyn, this is your destination. The khachapuri alone is worth the trip.

Yelp
Cheese & Bread is a cute place. It's fairly new and Bay Ridge is all the better for it. I stopped in today and picked up some borscht [$8] from the refrigerator. Once I brought it home and heated it up, it was absolutely delicious. It's beet based with pieces of potato. The other offerings in the refrigerator look just as delicious: cakes, cannolis, side dishes, salads. I really want to come back and try the khinkali and the khachupuri.

Yelp
Top 5 worst spots ever . Purchased 3 items . Everything was expired . I realized one was not good as soon as I purchased it and had it swapped . Didn't realize the soup was SOUR until I had some and it burned my insides for 3 days . Bought a cookie that was hard as a rock . Service was terrible . The lady appeared bothered to tend to me . Then she was speaking to someone in her language about me because they all looked at me as soon as she finished . Ambiance is typical of a shop of its nature . DEFINITELY will not be returning and for sure don't recommend that anybody else does unless you're trying to get sick . Unfortunately I didn't take any pics . Will do better next time :)

Yelp
Fantastic new restaurant in Sono. All the dishes were incredible, from the lamb to the pork. Highly recommend the Georgian salad and the meat filled dumplings.

Yelp
What a wonderful addition to our neighborhood! We've gotten coffee a couple of times and they make great espresso (and my husband is Italian). After a work out, we stopped by and got a spinach khachapuri and potato danish to go. They heated them up for us and it was so good. Generous filling to bread ratio and not too salty. They have an interesting selection of desserts in the fridge and we got this snickers napolean cake that was super light, nutty that was perfectly not-too-sweet. I would definitely get this again; I want to try all the other desserts. The guys here are friendly.

Yelp
I stopped by this place on a rainy evening. The place looks nice. The bakery goods look fresh. Will plan to stop by for coffee in the morning soon. At this time, I was able to grab a pear flavor lemonade which is quite tasty. This place accepts cash, credit and from their menu it looks like they deliver.

Yelp
This restaurant is a great new addition to our neighborhood. The place is really cute with a cozy atmosphere and nice decor. The owner is super nice and makes the best Americano coffee. It's consistently good which is important. I tried their tiramisu today and it was amazing!! I definitely plan to try their food as well. I've also had some of their other baked goods which I've brought and shared at work. Also delicious!

Yelp
Delicious and freshly made Georgian food, I loved spinach and walnut spread I grabbed from the side fridge, freshly made khachapuri did not disappoint either. So glad to have this place near by!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place when walking in the neighborhood. Bought khachapuri, khinkali, bread and churchkhela, all to go. Khachapuri was sooo delicious! I tried khachapuri Adjaruli in many Georgian places around Brooklyn, this one has the best one yet! It had so much cheese and the dough was perfect. Bread was ok, churchkhela was drier than I prefer. Khinkali were great, I boiled it at home and it was so good. Lots of juice, moderately spicy, just perfect. Will definitely come back.
