Despite living only 20 minutes away for the last 9 years we had never been until last night, great venue great atmosphere, staff all smiling, easy parking, acoustics excellent. Public Image Ltd were awesome as were the support band Trampoline. Only criticism is by the time we got away all the takeaways were closed, hardly the venues fault but irritating as I had skipped dinner to get there on time, oh well I need to loose weight anyway 😁😁

Came to see a gig here with friends. Great venue with lots of parking. Really efficient to get in and never a long wait for a drink. The only negative was getting out of the carpark. Easily took half an hour, and we just weren’t moving.

Went to see Fleetwood Bac. Great experience. Staff was lovely. Everything was either early or on time, which never happens at concerts. Good size, we could see well even though we were in the far back. Well ventilated and chilly which is nice when you get start having a little boogie!

Genuinely the worst seating arrangements I've ever experienced at a venue, and I've been to an eclectic mix of events in the last 40 years. Tiny temporary seats all wedged up against each other. I literally found the neighbouring man half in my seat when I arrived because that was the natural amount of space he occupied even as a slim adult; everyone was sat like sardines cheek by jowl on all sides. Stage unviewable once everyone seated, and a tiny screen to show photos on, and you could see other people in the audience straining at angles to get any kind of glimpse of the person we'd all paid £39 per ticket to see. By the interval we were so uncomfortable we walked out. If I could implore the venue to do one thing it's to invest in some collapsible raked seating like Westlands has. It's utterly preposterous that C&G is calling itself Somerset's leading venue with facilities like this for this price bracket. Never going to anything here again. Really disappointing waste of an evening, a long drive and £80.

Fabulous quirky venue. All the staff are friendly, security are too. Been going there since when I lived in Birmingham and now I live only half an hour away, it's perfectly placed! Ideal size IMHO. Seen some great bands there too.

We went to see the red hot chilli PIPERS! Brilliant, amazing, fantastic! Great venue, not overcrowded, you can get right to the front and feel like you're part of the band, or hang back ( still very intimate)and just enjoy the music. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Major music and family market venue right in the heart of town, with historical background. First built in 1874 as a town market hall, it is adjacent to a former train goods line, where local produce (as the same suggests) of cheese and grains were stored there. It underwent several metamorphosis - munitions store during WW1, occasional trade exhibitions, factory storage - until in the 1990's it was taken over by the District Council and Town Council and refurbished completely to turn it into a multi-purpose community hall. You will find local Farmer's Markets on a weekly basis (great quality fresh produce) during the days, and the evenings it's the setting for concerts of all kinds, from the punk/funk/rock to new bands and - well, everything you can imagine. There's a cafe and bar inside the premises, and the car park is right in front of it, so it ticks all the boxes! Check out the website for what's on, and go enjoy!
