All the Best Places to Eat Cheese in London, from Raclette to Fondue | Eater London

"Cheese at Leadenhall — founded by Sue Cloke, a Paxton & Whitfield alum who formerly ran the cheese department at Harvey Nichols — self-identifies as a cheesemonger, bar and restaurant. French staples, British regional classics (from Cropwell Bishop Stilton to Lancashire Bombs) and a staggering selection of truffle cheeses can be found amongst the 100 or so British and European varieties stocked by the shop. The restaurant has a concise, seasonal gastropub menu that complements small plates and plats du jour with cheese-based hits — croques monsieur and madame, baked Camemberts and cheese platters. The wine list is solid, and features a notable range of vintage port, perfect on sipping on the terrace overlooking Leadenhall market. If sitting around sipping digestifs isn’t, for some odd reason, the order of the day, Cloke also hosts regular cheese walks around the city." - Daria Kyrilova

Google
Such a nice experience, Cheese, Wine, Port and People watching. What could be better. In particular I loved the Port, which I have never tried and without the expertise of the staff I don’t feel I would have tried this ever. Some Really beautiful Cheeses to taste and of wine to flow. Set in the most beautiful location, on a Friday afternoon in the sun, beautiful.

It was quiet when we were here the cheese board was lovely, but lacking frills for the price, it was literally just a selection of cheeses. Tried several of the ports as well. Pleasant way to spend a hour or so 😁.

we thoroughly enjoyed our classic cheese and wine tasting experience. we were first presented with the wines (two whites, two red, and a port), then with the cheese (we asked for different ones, so we were able to try 10 each). everything was well explained, portions were very generous, and flavours outstanding. nothing was rushed, overall a great way to end the day

We had such an amazing experience! We had family staying nearby, on a trip to celebrate a birthday. Sue helped us put together a beautiful package of wine, cheese and snacks and had it delivered. I can't recommend, or thank, them enough!

Baked Camembert was great pairing with the Romanian (yes) wine. 13.5% but was light and tasty. Chips were cooked well. Beers were around 5-6 per bottle. Sat outside on the terrace in the marketplace. Place is Run by a service oriented couple.

What a cute little find! Can eat lovely tasty food with a nice glass of wine, under a glass 'lead roof' (how it got its name) in all the atmosphere of Leadenhall Market!! We had a scotch egg, truffle croquettes and bread with alioli...all yumm. Can go shopping for wands like Harry Potter after :)

Fondue was nice but there was a bit too much alcohol in it that ruined the taste a bit. Otherwise nice spot in Leadenhall Market.

Yelp
We loved the Leadenhall Market. Great place to hangout, grab some food, or a drink. Cheese is a perfect place for a beer, wine, and a snack.

Yelp
The clue's in the name, really, although in fairness that's a lot more to enjoy. The menu offers a good mix of (admittedly cheese-biased) bistro-type food, and serves as a good dancing partner to a very serviceable wine list, with a range of mid-to high end choices . Picking from the middle-ish of the list will run you 25-30 pounds. Staff are friendly and helpful, and will encourage you to go for a bottle rather than a glass .Don't plan on going back to work if you've come for lunch; a great place to sit and people watch, and well worth a visit, if you can get a seat.

Yelp
My partner bought me a Cheese & Wine Tasting for Christmas - we called to book & arrived with our printed voucher. The staff warmly greeted us, had a table reserved (even though restaurant was quite busy). The lady started our tasting by asking us about our cheese preferences, then spent time to talk to us about Cheese's extensive selection - I was captivated, so informative. Once we'd selected our cheeses, we were then passed to a gentleman who again was very engaging. He matched our cheeses with a various selection of wines & a port, again we learnt so much! Thankfully we were given tasting sheets, so we could take notes! The voucher says make sure you allow sufficient time for tasting (e.g. 1 hour) which was correct, but with such an amazing location, informal atmosphere, so much to see, eat and drink - we stayed there into the evening. Staff were incredibly knowledgeable & superbly attentive - quite refreshing to experience such a high level of customer service. We will be back for sure. Thank you Cheese for looking after us 5*/highly recommend.

Yelp
Having a good relaxed lunch is crucial for me. I like to take an hour's break, sit down, relax and enjoy my lunch. However, how much I love this; I can't have long lunches everyday. Working a 9-5 job in Financial Institution, there are some restriction on how long you can have your lunch break for. The Cheese at Leadenhall (http://cheeseatleadenhall.co.uk/) is not only a cheese shop. Lunch is served daily; cheese and meat platters are served throughout the day. Whenever possible, I try to pop down to the Cheese at Leadenhall to treat myself with their lovely lunches and relax before I continue the next half of the day. Especially, in the warmer days, it's perfect to sit outside having lunch with a good book to read. The menu consists of the classic cheese and meat platter, Croque Monsieur, omelette, Welsh Rarebit and daily specials ranging from salad to pasta. During the colder months, a choice of Cheese Fondue (in cider) was also available which I was fortunate enough to try. Good melted cheese cooked in cider, what I can say. Scrumptious! Not forgetting, the Cheese at Leadenhall is also wine bar- With good selections of wine to have in and take away. To top all the reason why I love this place so much is the Leadenhall Cheese Crew. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Never once I had uninteresting moment at The Cheese. Come here often and will definitely keep on coming- as long I don't get relocated for work! thehungrybea.com
