Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"The same folks behind Meet Korean BBQ have ventured beyond tabletop grilled meats. Cheese Room is their new Italian restaurant on Capitol Hill that, as the name suggests, involves a whole bunch of dairy. In addition to build-your-own cheese plates, there are dishes like a housemade ricotta and fontina grilled cheese, veal ragu with five year-aged gouda, and basque cheesecake. We recently checked out Cheese Room. Read our first thoughts here. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo

Cheese Room - Review - Capitol Hill - Seattle - The Infatuation

"While it sounds like a secret society where people twirl their mustaches and say “fromage” in excess, Cheese Room is a casual Italian spot on Capitol Hill with cheeses from around the world headlining each dish. It’s a neat concept that nobody asked for, but the effort seems to be all for naught, because we can’t taste the dang cheese. In the case of the Dungeness crab ravioli, French camembert is undetectable among bold lobster bisque and tarragon—and Spanish manchego in gnocchi is overpowered by a rice wine reduction so undercooked it should have prompted an ID check. Sure, the kind-of-rustic shell of the old Machiavelli space works well enough for an early evening glass of wine and a charcuterie board where the fancy cheeses can’t hide. We’d also come back to eat the fluffy homemade ricotta on grilled bread. But for the time being, there are better Italian spots in town to choose from." - Aimee Rizzo

This place has been on our list for a while and we decided to finally try it for my husbands birthday… YES. GO. RUN DON’T WALK. Everything was wonderful and we hit a slow time but it got busy quick while we were there. First recommendation of all of the items - the SALAD. I know, why salad? Get the salad.. pics for our other items too 😊 spent $92 before tip on this huge spread with tons of leftovers

For a fantastic casual date night, look no further! The burrata cheese plate here is a masterpiece; the accompanying tomatoes are subtly pickled, offering a unique and irresistible tangy-sweet counterpoint. And the pistachio cream pasta? Pure indulgence—creamy, rich, and exquisitely balanced. Beyond the incredible food, the service is top-notch, rounding out a truly excellent experience.

This place was so good. We went for seattle restaurant week, and the set course was 35 dollars total. It is so WORTH. You can get an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The burrata with pesto and tomatoes was super fresh, and the eggplant ragu was warm and hearty. I love that they offer complimentary bread and give you extra for free! It also comes out warm and crispy. I would say the appetizers were my absolute favorite in terms of flavor. The pasta entrees were also yummy, especially the truffle pasta. I do think the pasta was a bit bland, but the prosciutto comes right through to add the saltiness. The rigatoni wasn’t as good as the truffle pasta, but I appreciate the dish. It was too tomato-y and was lacking spice/flavor. The pistachio gelato ended the course meal perfectly. I don’t recommend the poached pear with goat cheese. My partner enjoyed it, but I wish the poached pear held its shape. Much prettier and appetizing! The raisins seem unnecessary. As for the ambiance, it felt intimate and welcoming. It was a weirdly good balance between music and people talking, but we could still hear each other. Overall, an amazing experience!! Free bread is a rarity nowadays, so I appreciate it extra for the warmth. The waiters were all super nice as well!!Would come back 100%.

The Cheese Room was a solid Italian inspired dinner on an early Saturday evening. We were able to grab a spot for 4 right around 5pm without a wait, but I think they were the last seats in the house! The menu was obviously cheese forward/themed but overall well varied. Service was solid and I really enjoyed the restaurant's decor. Food wise however I ultimately felt like everything was just good, not great with each dish needing more spice/flavor (and maybe salt actually.) Overall, I'd come back to try different dishes but I'm not in a rush to do so.

Wonderful experience in a quaint setting. We had several starters to share and home made pasta dishes. Perfect place for a group to share excellently curated cheese dishes that highlight all the right notes.

This cap hill corner restaraunt might be a seattle gem. So much class. Somehow they have exceptional service from super chill and very lowkey capable servers. Everything on the menu is cheese based and tastes darn good. Best part is they aren't scared of variety which mean meat lovers have options... I mean, if you know how to do math then thats what it means. Lol. The portions aren't exactly huge so you'll probably want an appetizer and a bottle of wine. I mean, its a cheese place, just get the wine asap and sip the night away while you indulge in well selected and yummy cheeses offered in various forms. They do give you free bread and oil, but its nothing to rave about like everything else they offer which is very well priced I might add again. This is one of those places I look forward to coming back to. Everything we ordered was spot on. Our date night was accidentally made perfect thanks to these guys. I almost want to kick myself for waiting so long. This place was in my restaurant Q for half a year. Cheers to restaraunts like this...

Not a local here in Seattle but I’ve heard good reviews about this place on TikTok, so my boyfriend and I wanted to try it out. I can say that this places lives up to the hype. We got the cheese plate and Grana Padano pasta. The cheese plate (3 cheese one) had more than enough for two people and was so good with the little extras it came with. As well as the free bread before the meal was warm and yummy too! The pasta was a bit small to share between two people, but overall it was so delicious and hot that it didn’t matter. Would definitely love to come here again and try more!

This is a great place for a date! Cute and little corner restaurant in a vibrant neighborhood. The gnocchi was good. Very strong and interesting flavor from the mix of chives and cream.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. Our first time visiting Seattle and we will return just for this place! We loved our servers and enjoyed our experience. Very cozy and great food. You have to try the grilled cheese!!

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner before watching Hamilton at the Paramount. Small entrance and overall footprint of restaurant is small, but the excellent food and service more than makes up for it. Do not hesitate to stop and try. The food is divine and the service definitely on point!

Yelp
I love cheese I love pasta I love bread. I visited for a galentines dinner at about 6 and the place was just starting to fill up. The restaurant is super tiny and cozy. Evenings here are intimate and quite dark, which doesn't make for great food pics, but that's okay. We ordered the meatballs as appetizer, the gnocchi, papperdelle, lobster ravioli, and the pasta with the lamb sausage. Meatballs were a hiiiiit. Meat was fabulously tender and flavorful. Comes with a light crème which is a nice pairing to the strong flavors of the meatball. Focaccia bread was served fresh from the oven and was pretty good too. Pasta was a hit or miss tbh. The gnocchi and papperdelle were really good. Balanced flavors, perfectly cooked pasta, didn't feel too heavy. The ravioli and lamb ragu were misses. Ravioli was super salty, and the pasta wasn't evenly cooked. The lamb ragu was an interesting flavor, really strong. Overall, it was pretty good, but taking off a star because of some of the misses. Service was fine also.

Yelp
This place took over a previous pasta place, Machiavelli. The space is p small but can accommodate one large party and various 2-4 person tables. We did a Galentines with some of my friends and was able to catch some of the happy hour. They have some wine deals and also $2 off pastas. It's already a pretty affordable deal for pasta so $2 off is even better. We also had the three cheese plate and honestly we were a bit disappointed at the size of it :/ Service was good. Could tell the two servers were running around. Obviously this place is hard to find parking for. So definitely budget some time!

Yelp
My friends and I decided to check out this new spot in cap hill, but we were left very disappointed. I ordered the lobster bisque ravioli and it was the most disgusting dish I have ever ordered from a restaurant in my life. It came out cold, it was way over salted, and it was EXTREMELY fishy. I love ravioli and I love lobster bisque, but this was just sad. My friend ordered the lasagna which surprisingly came out very hot, too bad it tasted like hamburger helper. My other friend ordered a forgettable eggplant dish that tasted like they used Ragu sauce. Go here for the chill ambiance, decent service, and cheese plate, skip the fake Italian food.

Yelp
After fighting a stray cat for my car keys, I was able to treat myself to this establishment. We were able to get seated within 15 minutes for a group of 3. The menu is simple, one sided which makes it easy to decide a meal! The portions were small for the price. While extra meat was only $3, the entire meal could be finished in a mere minutes. There was free bread which was nice. Had to request from the waiter certain things multiple times. But overall a nice experience. 7.85/10

Yelp
This is a cozy pasta place and great for date night!! It's a small place so it does full up quickly, come early!! Love the fact that they give you free bread as service since a lot of places don't do this anymore!! The bread was really good, perfectly crunchy and soft on the inside. I think the pastas were just okay and nothing really stood out to me. The cheese as a bit too heavy for me even tho I'm a cheese lover. The portion was on the smaller side as well. I would recommend checking out their eggplant appetizer

Yelp
The service was extremely great. Got checked on multiple times after trying out each food and had my water refilled without asking throughout my stay. They did a good job with that. Being called the cheese room, I was expecting more cheese on my pasta. Felt like there was more truffle than cheese which might be a plus for some people since you'd be getting your money's worth. I, for one, care more about the cheese and pasta. Was it good? Yeah it was pretty good. The portion size was pretty small in my opinion, but might be just right for the average person. Also got the meatball appetizers and that looked pretty small too. Don't get me wrong, it was good. The bread and the cheese that went with it made it more filling. Complimentary Focaccia bread and olive oil was appreciated and it was pretty solid bread. As for dessert, the tiramisu was pretty disappointing. Not enough ladyfingers and too much mascarpone. Like, ridiculous amount of mascarpone. The coffee flavor was nice and strong, so I did enjoy the flavor of that. But the amount of mascarpone killed the dessert for my friends and I. We ended up not finishing it and left the majority of it on the table when we left. I can't condone ordering that until they balance that dessert out. For the price point of everything and quality and quantity you get here, I don't think it's all that worth it honestly. I mean, the pasta was pretty good, but nothing very memorable other than the small portions of it. I think I would go back to try a different pasta dish since the pasta felt fresh and hand made. So I did enjoy that. So yeah, service, amazing. Meatballs and pasta, good. Tiramisu, bad. Portions could be better for the price. I'll go back for the pasta for sure.

Yelp
Ambience, menu selection, and prices all absolutely nailed! Loved the Rossini cocktail, and the burrata small plate with the complimentary foccacia was perfection. Also had a great boozy old fashioned and a filling pappardelle. Don't take reservations but the wait isn't long at all before 6!

Yelp
At the time of this review, Seattle Restaurant week was happening - Cheese Room had a really appealing restaurant week promotion as many of the other reviews have mentioned, where they have a 3 course meal for $35. For Seattle prices, the opportunity to get $35 for three dishes where majority of the time a singular entree can cost up to that much was something to be experienced! We arrived quite early (4PM) to get in line on a Saturday, and we still had to wait 30 minutes to get a table since the restaurant experienced a massive surge of popularity with this promotion! The restaurant itself, ambiance-wise, is rustic with old homely decorations, and is dimmly lit casual dine in with candles at each table. Space-wise, it is a bit cramped - we had to squeeze between 4 people just to get through the entrance. Service is fast despite how busy the restaurant was - our waiter was attentive and we got our food in reasonable time frames (10-15 minutes inbetween courses). As with most restaurants on Cap Hill, the parking situation is difficult - you will have to find a nearby parking garage or street side parking in order to get to the restaurant. Now, for the food - we got the $35 three course special that the Cheese Room was offering at the time. I'll review a couple of items that I really enjoyed on the menu: Polenta and Sausage Appetizer: The polenta is thick and creamy, with a little bit of cornmeal grains to complement the smoothness. The sausage was indeed a bit spicy - it's sort of like a pleasant kick of spice to wake your taste buds up. The sausage has a decent snap and a chewy, hearty, and good savoriness from the various Italian spices - definitely a tasty appetizer. Italian Meatball Appetizer: The ricotta is very fresh - it basically melted in your mouth as you ate it, absolutely no chewing involved. The meatballs were decent, not the most amazing meatballs I've had - they were definitely in the middle of the personal rankings. The included bread had a nice and satisfying crunch from toasting. The cheese is definitely the star of this appetizer. Malfadine Pasta with Lamb: I haven't had malfadine pasta before, and I must say I really enjoyed this type of pasta (it's probably one of my favorite shapes)! It's sort of like lasagna sheet ribbons and the sauce really helps cling to the noodles. The dish is really creamy, hearty, and rich with pleasant aromatic flavors from the onion and lamb. The lamb isn't too gamey and has a delicious meaty texture and flavor. Tiramisu: This is likely one of the more powerful tiramisus that I have a tried! The cake at the bottom is absolutely seeped with coffee flavor and is very bitter and fragrant. The cream on the top doesn't have a ton of sweet flavor, which is nice, but I can understand it not being some people's cup of coffee. This is definitely something to try if you are a coffee lover! In the end, I think that Cheese Room had a very solid and toothsome dishes to offer at very reasonable prices during restaurant week. Though the prices were fantastic during this event, I think it would be interesting to try the place again with their regular pasta amount. I would love to revisit again to try the other options that the Cheese Room has to offer.

Yelp
I've been meaning to check out "The Cheese Room" ever since it took over Ristorante Machiavelli. The space remains intimate and inviting. The food was pretty good, but a bit mixed. We had a group a group of four and decided to do "family style." Our server assured us that this could be a good option. It worked. Mostly. But I don't think it's their default. The sharing plates are very small. Better suited for an amuse than pasta. We started with a cheese plate (a great option, you can customize by picking 3,4, or 5 of 12 cheeses). We also ordered an array of appetizers. The food came out as it was finished, not necessarily in the order in which you might want to eat it (i.e., the cheese plate, appetizers, then entrees). The Prosecco we ordered came after a lot of the food arrived. Our favorites were the Manchango Gnocci, the Fresh Campanelle, the Italian Meatballs, and the Brussel sprouts. The grilled cheese was also very good. We were less impressed with the lobster bisque ravioli. We had high hopes for this dish. The flavor was decent but both the pasta and the lobster were overcooked. We had mixed feelings about the frozen cheese with poached pears. There were some good flavors but the textures just didn't work for me. A few more notes: -We ordered old fashioned cocktails. They were good, but a tad on the sweet side. -The dishes come with a side of focaccia bread. This was also very good.

Yelp
Bit of a late review, but tried out their Fall 2024 restaurant week menu and was really blown away by the food and the value. $30 for 3 delicious courses was absolutely worth it. Arrived around 6:45 on a weekday and the place was swamped. They do not take reservations and if you arrive at an unmanned front desk with a waitlist and a pen, DO NOT put your name down. Only staff is supposed to write your name down and I learned that one the hard way. Highlights: - Burrata (4.5/5): I have no idea what they did to those confit tomatoes, they were super soft and added perfect amount of sweetness to the creamy burrata. Absolutely insane pesto as well, if they sold jars of it, I would eat it for every meal. Skip: - Basque Cheesecake (2.5/5): Not super creamy and doesn't have that luscious soft texture you want. They have tiramisu made to order, just get that instead. - Campanelle and Malfadine (4.5/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the texture on both of these pastas. Toppings were creative and felt like great bang for your buck (lamb, truffle, etc.)

Yelp
waited about 20 mins for a table on sunday evening (not bad for downtown weekend). very cozy inside and i loved all the dishware. food was a 10/10. loved all the cheese platters and accoutrements. the buratta and tomato confit looked so beautiful and it was a very delicious small dish with their focaccia. unlimited bread, crackers, jam and olives. highly recommend the lobster ravioli, ragu was also yummy, very clean tasting just wished there was a bit more sauce. service was great too, had a wonderful time and food came out quickly. great date spot and will be back! also their pinot grigio and cosmos are great.

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 We came here for SRW, which included a 3-course meal for $35. We arrived on a Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and weren't seated until 8:40. The staff was very kind and apologetic for the wait. Despite the long day and the busy atmosphere, they were attentive to our table. Overall, I thought the experience was good, but it wasn't worth the long wait. For appetizers, we had the burrata. The tomatoes, sauce, and cheese were fresh and delicious. I'd recommend pairing this with the bread. For entrees, we ordered the rigatoni and campanelle. Both dishes were average and lacked salt and flavor, though a little extra salt helped improve the taste. For dessert, we had tiramisu and basque cheesecake. The tiramisu, made to order, was light and not too sweet. The cheesecake had a light, eggy flavor and was also not overly sweet. I thought the desserts were a great way to end the meal.

Yelp
I like this place. The interior and the seating are pleasant land the service team are friendly and attentive. However, the acoustics are loud and distracting- it's difficult to have an intimate conversation. The appetizers are terrific. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't cut into the burrata myself to experience the oozy goodness, but those tomatoes are amazing and the flavor combination was perfect. The meatballs were juicy, the tomato sauce was light and fruity, and the accompanying bread was toasted perfectly. The entrees were hit and miss. The gnocchi was inedible; it tasted like it had been doused in honey. The pasta with truffles were good, with a nice creamy sauce. The added mushrooms were a bit lifeless though. The pasta for the lamb sausage dish was great, but the texture of the meat and sauce reminded me of the kind of topping you'd get when ordering biscuits and gravy. It didn't serve the pasta well. Dessert was good. The pistachio gelato was delicious with a generous amount of pistachios. The tiramisu was fresh and creamy and a large portion. The cheesecake was not spectacular but tasty. À drizzle of raspberry sauce or something tart would enhance the flavor. The complimentary focaccia and olive oil served at the beginning are a nice touch. The house red is very drinkable. I'd come back for a glass and order à cheese platter, or some appetizers.

Yelp
This was more like a 3.5! Went around 5:30pm on a Saturday and there was a waitlist to be seated. Since we were a party of 4, the wait was much longer because the restaurant itself is pretty small and they do have some bar seating available. We waited around 75 minutes to be seated. Their system is a bit old school so we did have to wait outside the front of the restaurant in the cold and rain. Regardless the service was good. They only had 3 people serving, hosting, and bussing the tables. They had one bartender that only made drinks. We all did the $35 Seattle Restaurant Week 3 course menu. For appetizers, we tried the burrata, salad and sausage. The burrata was so good. Tomatoes were very refreshing and sweet. The salad included red onion, lettuce, chili pepper, and olives. I loved the pistachio and olive oil dressing. The bread they served was also quite delicious. The inside was soft and the outside was crunchy. We asked for extra plates of the bread because it was so good. The appetizers were so good and started us off nicely. The entrees were quite disappointing. The pastas did not had much flavor to them. The gnocchi was on the sweeter side. The rigatoni with tomato sauce lacked luster. The campanelle had good texture, but again I felt it was a bit bland. The dessert selection was also that amazing. The pistachio ice cream came with an olive oil drizzle was not that bad. The cheesecake was not bad and was less cheesy than other ones I have tried. The tiramisu was very disappointing. The lady fingers were unevenly drenched in coffee so some parts were crunchy.

Yelp
Amazing food, service, and vibes- what more could one ask for! Also gorgeous lucky with the rainbow at the end. Everything I ate- literally so hard to choose favorites but if I had to, I recommend the pistachio gelato for dessert, the truffle mushroom pasta for entree & fig board for an appetizer (in this order bc dessert should always come first :)) Sweets: - Pistachio gelato: Highlight of the night- perfectly creamy, not too sweet, and perfectly crunchy from the crushed pistachios - Tiramisu: very fresh, can confirm it was authentically prepared! I personally would've preferred more sweetness (surprisingly) and more of the ladyfingers/less liquid to cake ratio! Savory: - Focaccia: the texture says it all, beautifully spongey & moist with a crispy exterior - Fig jam & crackers: DELICIOUS. All I have to say. - Black Truffle & Oyster Mushroom Campanelle: Don't know where to begin with this. So rich, and the truffle wasn't overwhelming. Love the salty touch from the parm. - Vodka Sauce & Sundried Tomato Rigatoni: a classic that can never go wrong, especially when sundried tomatoes are involved.

Yelp
We came back to Cheese Room on a Friday at about 5:30 and were seated immediately. The ambiance is great, but the chairs are pretty uncomfortable and hurt my back after a while. I forgot that they bring complimentary bread, which is pretty good. We ordered a bottle of Sangiovese during happy hour, which we enjoyed. We got a cheese plate with: Parmesan Reggiano, Pecorino, and Gouda. They were pretty good, but kind of similar. All dry. I tried three different pastas: lasagna, gnocchi, and parpadelle. There were all pretty good. The gnocchi had a very strong and unique flavor, which was great for a few bites but I don't know if I'd want it as my whole meal in the future. For dessert, we got the cheese cake and the tiramisu. We liked the tiramisu the most, by far.

Yelp
such a cute and cozy ambience! i was super excited to try this place cause i've seen it a lot online, but i was actually kind of underwhelmed. i liked that they had focaccia to start, and the meatball starter was quite yummy paired with bread and cream. however, i wasn't huge on the actual pasta. i tried the lamb sausage dish, but it was a bit too gamey for my particular tastes. i enjoyed the rest of my group's dishes; the veal and lobster ravioli pastas both had great flavor and the gnocchi had a nice white wine reduction. however, all the dishes came out luke warm and got cold very quickly, which was a little disappointing.

Yelp
My new favorite tiramisu! And if you're like me -- you love the creamy, mascarpone part of tiramisu the most -- you'll love their dessert too! * Tiramisu: The ladyfingers were still crunchy and crispy, and this is a first for me. Sure I've had ladyfingers before, but they were soggy and just made scooping up dessert harder. This was different. The ladyfinger bits were easy to snap and a delicious addition. The bottom cake layer were perfectly moist and fairly thin (a good thing in my opinion)! My only objection is there was so much cocoa powder that I had to sneeze a few times. Either way, I will 100% be coming back for this tiramisu. Gah. So good. * Focaccia bread: A free appetizer. So good. Fresh, crispy crust and soft insides. This is high quality bread, and gah, yummy yum. * Pasta: We tried just one pasta, which had ground pork and salami bits. Very delicious and a fantastic dish. We came for the happy hour, so the portion will look smaller in our dish than in yours! The best part -- the waitstaff is non judgmental hahaha. My girlfriend ordered a pasta. Then, I just ordered... a tiramisu. He didn't pass any judgment. He immediately commended me and said he'd do the same. Haha! A cute cozy restaurant, with nice staff, prompt service, and a heavenly tiramisu.

Yelp
Wow! I was so excited to try out the Cheese Room especially since it opened in Machiavelli's spot. It was really easy to get a table on a Sunday evening so we were seated and served immediately. All of the pastas seemed so good, we shared 4 among 3 people and had leftovers. Mafaldine w/ lamb: 4/5, pretty good but didn't taste the doenjang as much as I thought I would. Campenelle w/ truffle: 5/5, FAVORITE! Would definitely recommend getting this. Ravioli w/ lobster: 2/5, felt overpriced for the quality. Could have used more roasted corn, that was the best part of the dish. Would recommend using focaccia to soak up the sauce. Radiatore w/ veal: 4/5, the shape of this pasta was interesting!

Yelp
I love Cheese Room. Every time I walk in, I feel like I've been transported to a little shop in Italy. The tiramisu is incredible and absolutely the highlight for me -- it's made fresh upon order and one of the best tiramisus I've had. I came for the happy hour and tried their pappardelle veal ragu, and it was so good! It was perfectly cheesy and creamy and packed with flavor. The staff is super friendly and gave great recommendations. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious pasta and cheese appetizers! I recommend the campanelle - the truffle makes it the star dish! There are also desserts. However, the tiramisu is too bitter for me because it contains coffee and rum. It was crowded when we came, but thankfully we were first in line so we got a table quickly.

Yelp
The Cheese Room in Seattle isn't just a place to get amazing cheese--it's also a spot where you'll feel right at home. From the moment you step inside, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly vibe make you feel like part of the family. The staff here are genuinely passionate and attentive, creating a cozy and relaxed environment that's perfect for enjoying a meal or gathering with loved ones. The food is fantastic, and it's clear that a lot of care goes into every dish. My favorite was the sausage wheel. It was HUGE! The cheese plate was also nice served with some bread. If you're in Seattle and looking for a place that combines fantastic food with a heartwarming, family-like atmosphere, The Cheese Room is worth a visit. I left with a smile and can't wait to come back for another cozy and delightful experience!

Yelp
This spot replaced Restaurant Machiavelli. Menu centralizes cocktails, small dishes, pasta, and cheese plates. Each item features a type of cheese. Drinks - Some Grappa Cocktail with White Peach Puree ($12) - Very Sweet, but quite nice We tried - Burrata and Tomato Dish ($15) - the pickled tomatoes were delightful and unique, and the burrata was very fresh Meatball and Ricotta ($14) - freshest, smoothest, milkiest ricotta ever! Black Truffle Pasta ($18) - creamy, rich, delicious, flavorful Some of these were $2 off for happy hour :)

Yelp
They do not take reservations so be prepared for a little bit of a wait if you're going on weekend. We came on a Saturday and were able to sit at the bar without a wait which I personally love doing (+ the bar was a vibe and the bartender was cool). We got our food pretty quickly and both of us were very satisfied. I personally got the gnocchi and loved it. It wasn't too heavy and didn't leave me feeling too full after finishing the plate. Will definitely be back to try out the rest of their pasta dishes!

Yelp
The food is fantastic. I love cheese and this place satisfied my cravings for cheese flavor. I got the gorgonzola base and my friend got the morel mushroom pasta and both were delicious. We came here as a girls night and it was a lot of fun. It does get busy quickly so I would recommend coming soon after opening. We did sit at the bar so I'm not sure how the main dining room was but it seemed pretty small. Our service I'd say was nice but I feel like they could've been a little more attentive. It's okay though the food made me happy. Forgot to add this but the tiramisu was good. I wish it was sweeter and the cream was quite I guess creamy. It does seem like fresh tiramisu so I think if you like it that way better then it's probably a good choice for dinner. The pesto and burrata were also super delicious. The pesto really brought it all together.

I was so excited to try this restaurant and by the end of my meal, I was so disappointed I came here during Seattle Restaurant Week and not sure if it was that they had such a high volume of people but the food wasn't it. We came on a Wednesday night around 7:15 and still had to wait 30-45 minutes for our table. For our smalls, we got the Pecorino Toscano (meatball) and the Comte-Monts (italian sausage). The meatball was way better than the sausage and a main factor was the cheese that came with the meatballs. The sausage was alright but the polenta they paired with the sausage was flavorless and ruined the dish for me. For our entrees, we got the Grand Padano and Ossau Iraty. The ossau iraty dish was way too hearty with the addition of lamb. The lamb overpowered the dish. There was supposed to be chili's in this dish but I never saw them nor did I taste them. The grand padano was alright but wish they added more mushrooms and prosciutto since it was pretty much just pasta. This dish really lacked flavor. For dessert, we got the tiramisu and cheesecake. When I saw that piece of cheesecake, I thought that it was the world's saddest piece of cheesecake. It was so small and I understand it was a basque cheesecake but they burnt it so much that it wasn't enjoyable. I really disliked the fact that tiramisu was "made to order". Due to this, the ladyfingers didn't absorb the richness from the espresso and much as you'd want. If you want dessert, go somewhere else since it's definitely an afterthought here. The service was alright. I asked the waiter for water while we were eating our entree since he never came around. After asking, I saw him refill other people's water and then completely ignore us until 10 minutes after. Needless to say, not sure if this was worth the money or time to come.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out on a whim while visiting Seattle and so glad I did! The restaurant itself is a little small and dimly lit, but we were seated fairly quickly (especially considering it was pretty late - a little before 9 PM on a Saturday!). Even though it was fairly close to closing time, we never felt rushed. The staff provided recommendations and checked in on us throughout the meal to see how things were going. The appetizers really surprised me. We got the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and the Italian meatball. Both were delicious - I could have ordered just those and have been completely satisfied in terms of portion and quality of food. We also got the pastas with pappardelle and malfadine. Both were good, but not as good as the appetizers to be honest. We also took dessert home (tiramisu). That was extremely moist and delicious, and the slice was massive. Overall, glad we decided to try this spot! There were interesting Korean elements infused in Italian dishes, and everything about the entire dining experience was phenomenal. It sticks out as the best meal I had during my trip to Seattle, and next time I'm there, I'll absolutely be stopping by again. Thank you to the wait staff, kitchen staff, and owners for providing such a great experience from start to finish!

Yelp
came in on a saturday night and waited over 1hr and half *cries*. honestly felt bad and noticed there was only 2 servers working and a host that was bussing and watering tables as well. for such a crowded and popular spot they need more staffing or an efficient wait list system so ppl don't overcrowd the entrance. moving onto food. we tried seattle restaurant week $35 - 3 course menu. for appetizers we tried the mimolette jeune(salad), burrata cheese, and comte monts (italian sausage). i must say the salad and burrata cheese with their complimentary bread was my absolute favorite. let me tell you, the tomatoes on the burrata cheese was so fresh and marinated well, with that being said the salad dressing was perfect and made in house! for entrees, i wasn't impressed and quite disappointed after waiting for so long. tried the mozzarella (prosciutto & rigatoni), grana paono (mushroom truffle campanella), and manchego (gnocchi). all items were quite plain and small the portion size. thankfully there was 4 of us so we shared and was able to try different pastas. for desserts, we tried all desserts: pistachio icecream, basque cheesecake and tiramisu. i really wanted to like the tiramisu but it just wasn't it. it's more focused on lady fingers instead of cake.. the pistachio icecream was and basque cheese was okay but i wouldn't buy any of the desserts again. overall the ambiance, the servers and appetizers served was 10/10 but i had to give lower rating for the entree, dessert and outdated wait time system (pen and paper).

Yelp
Came here for SRW and we were super impressed! First of all, $35 for a solid 3-course meal was such a great deal. But we were blown away by the quality of the food! We loved the appetizers - the Burrata came with tomato that was marinated with balsamic vinegar and some pesto olive oil- the tomato was super juicy and acidic which balanced very well with the creamy Burrata. The Italian meatball also paired super well with the ricotta cheese - again, it was very well balanced. For pasta, we tried the gnocchi and mushroom campanelle. The gnocchi is made with Korean rice wine (makggeoli) sauce which made it super unique and flavorful. Campanelle pasta had a nice texture and the mushroom flavor was very rich! We were already very full and were not expecting much from the dessert as we are normally not a fan of tiramisu. But the tiramisu is made fresh so the bottom was still quite crunchy and we loved that! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and this was by far one of the best tiramisu I've had. The pistachio gelato was also super impressive! They drizzled some olive oil on top which honestly worked so well! At first I thought it might be weird, but it really elevated the flavor of the ice cream. The pistachio bits were nice addition to the ice cream and we really enjoyed the flavor. The service was very good overall - they kept checking on us to make sure we are enjoying our food and refilling our water. The vibe is an old Italian restaurant which is nice. I definitely want to come back to try their grilled cheese and other pastas!

Yelp
The food was amazing. The sausage was well-seasoned and not overly salty-- it complemented the polenta quite well and overall was a good dish. It was a big portion so you could most likely share it with another person and still end up full. The lasagna came out sizzling! Although it looks a bit small, it has a lot of height so ended up being a good portion as well. The sausage for the lasagna was well-seasoned and the lasagna sheets were cooked perfectly. Throughout the entire meal, the lasagna stayed hot! The service was very friendly and always made sure our water was filled. Our server was very kind and fixed our wobbly table without us needing to ask. The ambiance was quaint and gave a very homey feel. Depending on where you were seated, you could have a good view of the city streets. Would love to come back again!

Yelp
Overall 3.5 stars, but I round up! My friends and I unfortunately waited a little over 75 minutes for Saturday dinner time. The crowd might have been busier because of Seattle Restaurant Week or this could be a normal weekend wait. We only ordered items from their SRW $35 menu. For appetizers we had two burratas, one salad, and one spicy Italian sausage. The burrata and salad were SO good and gave us the impression that the rest of our meal would be just as amazing. The tomatoes from the burrata were so plump, juicy, sweet, and flavorful. The cheese and pesto paired well with their complimentary focaccia bread. The salad's dressing was top notch. The spicy Italian sausage was whatever, but I did like the polenta and veggies that came with it. Our entrees were one rigatoni, two campanelle, and one gnocchi. No one loved their pastas and it was quite disappointing compared to the appetizers. My rigatoni tasted basic. The prosciutto and mushrooms with the campanelle was good, the pasta flavor alone is a miss. We thought dessert would save the meal and ordered two tiramisus, one pistachio gelato, and one basque cheese cake. The cheese cake was my personal favorite and I was surprised I like that more than the tiramisu. The other desserts were whatever and I wouldn't order any of these again. Service was great, ambiance is cozy, and I'll be back just for the appetizers.

Yelp
I dropped in for SRW. The decor is exactly the same as when it was Machiavelli. They have free focaccia bread, which is nice, but it was a bit disappointing - the outside was nicely, toasted, but it was cold inside. I started with the tomato burrata, which was gloriously fresh and tasty. The Campanella was rich, hearty and delicious. The tiramisu was unusual - a flat bowl of crispy lady fingers in crème with a thick sprinkle of dark cocoa on top. I liked it! The servers were attentive, refilling my little water glass several times. They were also patient with my request for drip coffee, an Americano, etc. FYI, they serve espresso. Really. Just espresso. I still miss Machiavelli, but this place is a worthy successor.

Yelp
Came to Cheese Room for happy hour, which included some $30 wine bottles and $2 off pastas. I tried their pistachio Parmesan reggiano, and it was very tasty.

Yelp
This is a cozy corner restaurant. There is a bar area when you first walk in, and then you walk upstairs into the main dining area where the cheese is proudly on display. I love the classic feel of the dining room! The menu is a bit difficult to understand at first. It appears that every dish is named after a cheese, which is true, AND the name of the cheese is also the cheese that is primarily featured in the dish. The wine list features two pages of cocktails, a page of wines by the glass, and a couple pages of bottles. Robust but not overwhelming. We ordered the Laura Chenel Goat Cheese as an appetizer. It was literally melt in your mouth delicious and the taste was unique! I ordered the Grana Podano as an entree. The portion size is good and served in a bowl, which is uncommon but appreciated. The taste was rich and savory with a perfect texture -- better than i was expected really! We also ordered the Marsacpone for dessert. Honestly it was the best tiramisu I've ever had! The cheese was creamy and the water was crispy with a generous amount of cocoa powpowder sprinkled on top. The variety of textures worked so well together! Overall, I loved the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food. Would recommend and return!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a little date here to try it out and I have to say it's now one of my new favorite italian spots. The ambiance, service, and food is just good vibes all around! I absolutely love cheese and I love that every dish on the menu uses a different type of cheese. They have a small bar area at the entrance and little steps up to the dining room. We ordered 3 small plates and 1 pasta dish to share which was a good amount of food honestly. We were getting pretty full halfway into our pasta. If there's one thing I absolutely recommend trying, it would be the Burrata cheese with the balsamic confit tomatoes and basil pesto. I'm not a big tomato person, but it was so juicy and the flavors altogether were a 10/10!!! Use their focaccia bread to dip in too! When the check came out I was surprised to see we got their happy hour prices! It's not advertised on their menu inside but they have a sign out front. 4pm-6pm and I believe it's $2 off most of their food items.

Yelp
We were very happy with the amount of cheese given the name. We really liked the grilled cheese and soup appetizer, our drinks, and our entrees. My partner had the lasagna and I had the radiatori. The house bread and cheese plate were a bit disappointing, mainly with the portion sizes. The cheese selection was lovely but we didn't get to try the Gouda unfortunately. For vegetarians there are several options, but some pastas can't be separated from the meat. Not really much for vegan folks but they do seem to have gluten free options. The server was very helpful and the ambiance is quite lovely. They have a few less tables than Machiavelli's crammed into the space, which is nice, but other than that it's pretty similar aside from the big cheese display. We would certainly come back for more pasta.

Yelp
We love the cheese room. Replacing the historic Machivellies (and changing almost none of the older, but charming, interior) it's an Italian restaurant with a focus on the cheese, and some every item on their menu is listed cheese first. Service is quick and pleasant, and there are good wine deals by the bottle and glass. We recommend coming with a group and ordering family style. Make sure to order more than just the pastas- the appetizers pack just as much of a flavorful punch as the pasta mains. Stand outs for us were the salad, gnocchi, and buratta. There's nothing particularly bad about this place, but be prepared to wait a while if you come at a popular time- they do not accept reservations, and there's often a walk in list.

Yelp
Some of the best Italian food I've had in the US! Their concept is using different cheeses in their dishes. Complimentary Foccacia was very herby, a tad too herby for me. But everything else was amazing. I tried the Lobster Ravioli which came with plenty of big raviolis stuffed with crab served in lobster bisque with fresh sweet corn. Incredible dish. The flavors were delicate and delicious. The Meatballs were also hands down the most juicy and tender I've had. The tomato sauce was perfectly balanced. The crispy sourdough was perfect for sopping up every single bit of the sauce. Their Pistachio Gelato with Olive Oil was a great end to the meal. Nice and nutty with some sweetness. Great portion and prices. Ambience was also very casual and approachable. I would totally come back!

Yelp
So so so good!!! We started with the burrata with the tomatoes which I didn't think I was going to like since I'm not a huge tomato fan, but all the flavors were so balanced and went together really well. We also ordered the pistachio salad which might have been our favorite thing. So many textures, and the saltiness from the olives was so good. Then we split the black truffle mushroom pasta. It could've used a smidge of salt (maybe a truffle salt to get some more flavor?) but still was really good. Ended with some affogato and it was the perfect meal. Can't wait to make the trip back!!

Yelp

Yelp
Today I felt home sick and pasta was what I have been craving. The restaurant closes at 8:30 and it was already 8pm so I called to see if they would serve us, and they were SO kind on the phone. We decided to stop in. Amazing decision. The service was 10/10. They made us feel special and THAT is a rare feat at any restaurant, let alone a little Italian place in a big city. They offered a small wine tasting for us to pick which ones we wanted, gave fresh bread and olive oil, an amazing cheese spread we ordered, and fantastic pasta. But the food could have been awful and we'd still have left 5 stars because the feeling I felt while eating here is unmatched. We may not be back in Seattle anytime soon, but Cheese Room set the bar HIGH. Thanks for a great date night

Yelp
Excellent date night spot. Super cute and cozy. Service once sat was excellent. The food knocked it out of the park. They don't take reservations so expect to wait on the street as they don't like people waiting in the entry.

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite spots in Seattle! We got the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and the morel mushroom pasta. The grilled cheese was definitely the star of the show - they used ricotta which was very creamy and milky. The tomato bisque was thick, flavorful, and complimented well with the grilled cheese. The pasta could have used a little more seasoning, but it was delicious as well.

Yelp
A solid 10/10 - everything we had was SO GOOD. It's a super cute spot, we walked in on a Sunday night around 6:30 and only had to wait 20 minutes. It's reasonably priced as well, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner and enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and provided attentive service. I arrived while my partner was parking, and there were tables available but they don't seat without the full party (reasonable), and those tables were taken in the next few minutes before he arrived. The staff was apologetic and told us a table should open up in 5-10 minutes, which it did. We got a drink at the bar while we waited and were seated promptly. The food and drinks were good. The burrata appetizer was absolutely amazing in my opinion. The lobster ravioli was good, but a couple bites of the lobster tasted a little muddy (most of it was fine). The penne alla vodka was also good. We finished with pistachio gelato which we enjoyed. Overall, a nice cozy place with good vibes and food. Food was not quite excellent, but good enough that I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I'm amazed by the dishes here! The 24-month aged Parmesan Reggiano is outstanding--one of the best I've ever had (though I haven't visited Italy yet). The service is great, and I love the view from inside out. I'm definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
Wow, is this place so much more than just cheese. They have a great selection of pastas as well as smaller plates. They also have a variety of cocktails, of which we tried several and they were all delicious. Our server, who was also the bartender, was super nice, fast, and obviously talented. The best part: prices were excellent yet had the quality of an expensive restaurant. My only complaint is the barstools in the bar area are not very comfortable, I ended up standing toward the end as my legs began to hurt. There is restaurant seating as well, and I will definitely be going back to check it out.
