Cheese Store of Silver Lake

I have been coming to the Cheese Store of Silverlake for almost 3 years now regularly to grab a sandwich for lunch. They are always inventive and delicious. Their selection of cheeses is unmatched in the area and their selections of jams, honeys, spreads and chocolate are perfect pick ups for gifts. One stop shop for your picnic or party. I always get a large meet and cheese platter for any of my office events!

This store tucked away in a corner in Silver Lake is truly a gem. The shop owner at LA County Store recommended I try their grilled cheese sandwich and I certainly wasn't disappointed with the flavor explosion--- it was truly unlike anything I've tasted before. Cheese itself is a bit pricey, but it's like a world within itself. Lady who helped me was very sweet also.

The store was a little hard to find at first because it's tucked in between the coffee shop and flower shop, but I found it eventually. The Cheese store was small, but carried a variety of goods like jams, cooking oils, wines, and especially meats and cheeses. I'm not really knowledgeable in the many types of cheeses, but the employee that assisted me was. All I did was ask for a soft, medium and hard cheese and specified the animal I wanted it from and the employee brought out a cheese she thought I would like. I don't think there was a single cheese offered to me that I didn't like. They all were amazing (and for the price I was paying for them I hoped they would be haha)! The meats were very good as well, but I didn't get the chance to sample many. I'll be keeping this store in mind next time I need to give out some gifts for Christmas!

Such a great find!!! I'm not a Silverlake frequenter, but whenever I venture over I always find a new hidden gem. This place is no different. It's nestled sorta in the corner nearby Intelligencia on Sunset. The store has a great variety of, well, cheese +++ a bevvy of other things under the sun. I went for a cheese & wine pairing event (which they have on occasion) - the staff was super knowledgeable (Maggie, who leads the class is very passionate and includes a few history lessons in the class #score) - I was introduced to a few different cheeses I'd never heard of (as well as tomato jam, which I had also never heard of, but now love). With great service and great products, I can't find a reason to complain. I even got some xmas shopping done for foodie friends!

These guys wrote the book on Artisanal, then ate it because it was made of cheese. I highly recommend the 3 cheese panini sandwich, so delicious. Nice assortment of complimentary gourmet goods and wines and helpful friendly staff to put it all together for you.

Best cheese store ever! Very helpful people, easy to sample the cheese and a wide selection of non cheese items like charcuterie, wine, olive oils, etc. They even do paninis sometimes.

These guys have everything: coffee syrup from Rhode Island, pickles from little guys spanning Sacramento to Brooklyn, French chevre, North Pacific microbrews, tasteful wine selection, and a lunch counter with tasty sounding sandwiches. I wish I could drop in on this shop every week.

Fantastic people, went there for a tasting both wine and cheese and was very pleased, friendly people with heavy pour on the wine and ample cheese and crackers of epic quality. Bought a lot of stuff, was very happy with everything, couldn't recommend more.
