Hey, you have to check out Cheesesteak House on Davis Street in Dallas! It’s a hidden gem that’s totally worth the trip. The staff was super friendly and patient, especially since it was our first time there. They took the time to explain the menu and made us feel like we were right at home. The ingredients were fresh, and everything came out piping hot and full of flavor. The cheesesteaks were absolutely delicious juicy, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back again soon!

Ahmad as the Front Cashier was EXTREMELY Cool and helpful. He was friendly and made sure I was comfortable with my visit. The sandwiches are on point and I will definitely visit again and tell everyone I know this is the place to go for quality food choices.

Google
I stopped by this cheesesteak spot and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh, flavorful, and packed with meat and cheese just the way it should be. The bread was soft but still had that perfect crisp, and everything tasted like it was made with care. Big shoutout to Gabriel — he was super helpful and really made the experience better. He took the time to explain the menu, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything came out right. You can tell he actually cares about the customers. If you’re looking for a place with amazing cheesesteaks and top-notch service, this is the spot. Definitely coming back!

Google
My go to here is a large cheesesteak with double meat. Way more than enough. Mayotle sauce, and a big red and I’m set (also their soft drink dispenser is super carbonated and refreshing). Also their wings are really good (ask for extra cooked).

Google
So I was craving a good cheesesteak came across this place on google… I had lots to say but the pictures will tell it all. I just can’t believe that I paid $14.90 for this! Either reduce your bun size or increase your meat serving because clearly this is very wrong! The portions were horrible I would not recommend unless they can serve a correct amount of meat . This sandwich was not filling at all.. If you are going to charge 14.00 make you serve the correct amount.

First timer review: Needs more stars! This is a hole in the wall next to a vape shop and if you blink you'll miss it. You order at the counter but I suggest looking at their website before you go as the choices are many. Abel took our order and was very patient as we were newbies. I'll rate in order from best to last what we had. Nachos: Home made chips, Home made queso that taste like mine, ground beef and pico de gallo perfection. I never finish a dish as we both ate this but I finished it. 10/10 Peppered Cheesesteak w/fries: Melt in your mouth meat (sirloin) with bell, banana and jalapeno peppers and onions was amazing. I would have added cheese but it was my husband's. He loved it. Alan's Burger w/Onion Rings: I will not get this again. It was a burger with a little sirloin and onions but I found it to be rather average compared to the cheesesteak. The bun was too thick for the sandwich also so I ordered chips & queso to go and will take off the meat tomorrow and make more Nachos for lunch with the sandwich. The onion rings are not homemade fyi and Abel was honest about it upfront. Won't get those again either. They have house made sauces too! These are NOT salsas like most taquerias thankfully. We had the Chipotle which was flavorful and smoky but not hot and the Habanero which is a white creamy sauce with some heat. Both excellent. The place, as I said, is just a hole in the wall with a tv that had on the Cowboys game. It was clean with booths and tables for dining in which most people did while we were there. I'd easily give this place 10 stars and put it on our regular rotation near the top.

Google
Absolutely delicious, fast service, hot & fresh food every single time! Friendly staff, clean dining area. I order the Cheesey Cheesesteak with chicken or beef, it stays nice and hot. They also have Guava Jarritos which is my absolute favorite drink. They also supply you with various sauces for dipping. Try the Lemon Pepper Wings!!!

First time here my neighbor took me for lunch Great food and great customer service definitely coming back

Yelp
My go-to cheesesteak spot. The Cheesy Cheesesteak is what I get. Good prices and portions.
google avatar

Aaron G.

Yelp
You will always get fresh hot food at Cheesesteak House. Cooked to order and the staff will actually walk through your order to make sure everything is right. There are a lot of options so it's helpful to ask for a suggestion or just come back and try everything lol
google avatar

Yelp
Great local spot. Finally made it back here. I ordered a poblano cheesesteak and onion rings. The gentlemen taking my order was great and everything was super quick. Food was delish. Great spot in oc!!

Yelp
A staple for us! Amazing service, nice employees and incredible food every time! The cheesesteaks are absolutely amazing. The best I've ever had. Would recommend!

Yelp
I took myself to the cheesesteak house for lunch today. First time giving this place a try and let me tell you. It's surprise me how good their Philly cheesesteaks are. I ordered myself the original Philly cheesesteak with french fries and a drink. I believe it's the combo. They have definitely great flavor and the fries were also seasoned good. I would have totally gave him a five star but just for now, I won't due to the fact that I like my meat sliced instead of chopped on a Philly, but I guess that's just me other than that they are a great place and I would definitely keep coming back to them.Service at the counter was great and polite. they also have a great variety of stuff on the menu, which I will definitely try.

Yelp
I love the cheesesteak House in Oak Cliff! They are one of the best here in Dallas. I typically order delivery, but the Cheesesteaks are always packed with meat. I get the cheesy Cheesesteak w/ Jalapeños and it's always delicious. **No photos**

Yelp
I did DoorDash so I can only rate the food. I don't even know what this sauce is I am dipping my onion rings in I give that a 5. The onion rings are nothing special just onion rings without the sauce would be a 2. The actual peppered cheesesteak well I guess the picture on the website didn't match what I got but it was still good 3.5. Total score 3.5 Would I go back? Of course!

Yelp
This place is legit! Best cheesesteak in Texas. Good people, good food. I eat here every time I'm in town.
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
There was too much bun and not enough meat on my cheesesteak. The fries are nothing special. The sauces were good. Service was good and fast. Value not there for the money.
google avatar

Marla C.

Yelp
So I only got a bite of the cheesesteak, but I will tell you that bite was tasty, and I look forward to coming back again and getting my own Philly cheesecake. I came here because my friend told me about how good these cheessteaks were in Oak Cliff, and she didn't disappoint. This was my first time here, and I appreciate that they have so many options of what kind of cheesesteak that you can have as well as hamburgers. I also am excited that they have multiple locations because I don't live in Dallas. I went to the location in Dallas, but there's also one in Garland and Grand Prairie. I came here for my husband, and he wanted the traditional Philly cheese with beef and onions. But next time, he said he wants to try the kind with queso, and I want to try the kind with Poblano peppers and chicken. The staff was friendly. You get a discount if you pay with cash. There is seating for probably 30 or 40 people, but lots of folks were getting their food to go as we did.

Yelp
This review is for April 9th '24. I just ordered the simple half sized beef cheesesteak with fries. The fries were well seasoned and honestly for a cheesesteak place in Dallas, the Philly was actually not bad. It's a very small place, but they make your orders quick and you do not have wait long if you do not choose to stay and eat. The staff was nice and accommodating, and the other customers seems to enjoy their experience as well. I'll have to come back to order other items off of their menu.

Forrest W.

Yelp
Food was great, but the service was awful this time. I had every person looking at me weird when I complained that cheesesteak only had a little over a hotdog's worth of meat on it. I don't normally complain about portions, but this was ridiculous. I've been a few times and it was never an issue in the past, so I knew something was off. I alerted the server and everyone was like "We just use pre portioned steaks" Okay? Did they get way smaller? I wish I would have took pictures, it was so thin and skimpy. They brushed me off so I just sat down and ate anyways, get to the second half of my sandwich, where some of the end doesn't even have ANY meat on it. I'm fuming that they didn't admit to there being a problem, so I go up and give them another chance, showing them how little meat I had. Again, I get these looks like I'm asking too much that my sandwich look half as filled as any of the other pictures here. Whatever. Guess I'll just never come back, if I wanna be skimped, at least Chipotle gives me close to unlimited rice and beans.

Jorge R.

Yelp
Their cheesteak sandwich was the best I ever had. The fries were just a 3 of 5, but I had to give 5 stars because the sandwich was that good. Sandwich was fresh but served pretty fast. Highly recommended!

W M.

Yelp
I was skeptical when I read that they don't have a traditional Phillysteak. I was wrong...it was so good! They have a variety of sauces as well but there is no need for them. The sandwhich has such great flavor!

Yelp
This place slaps ! Best cheesesteak in Dallas I love the Alan burger but one time it came more like a chopped cheese it was so perfect

Tiff T.

Yelp
I had a history with this restaurant that is 5 stars, UNTIL I WENT TODAY!!! I have NEVER left this place thinkin, what ELSE can I eat?", UNTIL TODAY. My philly cheesesteak was ALMOST naked. And the service had been SOOO good until she delivered my bread to me. My face literally dropped, because WTF is this???? Where's the REST of it? Someone has just come in to order and it's taking EVERYthing in my not to say something deterrent. Scratch that, we chatted after he ordered. I am SAD because this isn't something I allow myself to indulge in very often. So today was a TOTAL disappointment & I probably WILL NEVER come back. The young lady at the counter is THE ONLY thing they have goin for them. And Jasmin's fries, those are still a homerun. But yeah, what I was served is DEFINITELY not worth over $20 especially sitting in here with what feels like no A/C.

Jemimah W.

Yelp
An unassuming store front, but some of the best cooked cheesesteaks around. The meat is well seasoned, the bread is toasted, and the poblanos bring a good depth to the flavour.
google avatar

Destini R.

Yelp
The one I always visit closed so I had to find the other one. Good customer service. Veggie burger option. What I order isn't on the menu I just ask to add a veggie pattie to my fries.
google avatar

Yelp
I used UberEats to get this meal so I can only vouch for the food and the speed of the service. I got the food pretty quickly and it was decently sealed in tin foil and in a generic plastic bag. I ordered the cheesy cheesesteak and fries with a side of Diet Pepsi, all of which were included in the bag when it arrived. While this might be because the food was delivered, the fries were slightly soggy and the bun was saturated in grease. I ended up scraping some of the meat off and that made the sandwich better. It's a lot of food, but I hadn't eaten all day so it was good. Prices are fair for what you get. I felt a little sick after eating the cheesesteak, but that could just be because of the grease instead of any health code violations. Maybe go again? Probably get something else. My boyfriend's little brother got the chicken nuggets and apparently those were good.

Yelp
This has got to be on your list for Cheesesteaks in Dallas. A hidden gem located in oak cliff. This place never misses. Great sizes and quality to match. Several other locations as well but this is original cheesesteak house . Authenticity, freshness , and satisfaction guaranteed . Highly recommended .
google avatar

Casey G.

Yelp
Best cheesesteak I've had. I hate that they don't do fountain drinks anymore. For the price let me get a free refill on the fountain drink. The went to cans. WtF No class...

Carlos O.

Yelp
I particularly didn't like it, but if you haven't had an cheesesteak from Philly, you will completely understand my rating and experience. I had to get my steak sandwich reworked after I told the gentleman who took my order I wanted a "plain steak, with salt, pepper, & ketchup. They made mine with cheese, prior to me advising i wanted a "plain steak" .I sent my sandwich back which the gentleman who took my order responded and said , "oh I thought you meant without any toppings ". They remade it , but I still wasn't impressed. Roll wasn't as fresh, and the meat was okay. Friendly staff, but I'm sure there are better options in the DFW metroplex

Yelp
I ordered the peppered cheesesteak, churro, and chips and salsa. I was so so so skeptical at first. I looked all over yelp and google, plus I ordered takeout so that should always be considered; HOWEVER, this cheesesteak hit the spot! Exactly what I wanted, expected, plus I felt like I was in Philly! It's def not your healthy tasting cheesesteak but that also means the flavor is there. I got the peppered cheesesteak because some of the other ones looked too cheese and a tad overwhelming. So maybe fair warning on those, but to each their own. Also - sorry I don't have pics to add. Destroyed this thing in 2 seconds after it arrived

Dave S.

Yelp
1st time I went here, the food was good but I felt like they were a little skimpy with the meat. I'm glad I gave it another shot. Cheesesteak sandwich was delicious. Plenty of meat this time. Perfect blend of meat, cheese and onions. The chipotle mayo was really good too. Everything was cooked perfectly and they were fast too. Restaurant area is a little small and looks kind of rough from the outside but don't skip out on this joint. It's a little hidden gem. Can't wait to go back.

Sergio S.

Yelp
It's a pretty darn good place. The burger with jalapeños hit ! And the onion fries smack . Every time I go I get greeted.

J M.

Yelp
My go to for cheesesteaks. An OC institution. Consistently delicious. Don't miss the fries and onion rings. Support local!
google avatar

Adam L.

Yelp
I am not going to slam this eatery, because it does serve a specific purpose for its fans. I get it, but for those looking for a quality cheesesteak - this ain't it. I ordered 3 different ones and fries, so I gave it a fair chance. I won't focus on the uncarbonated, all syrup Dr Pepper that flowed out of the unmaintained soda fountain. I am rating it based on the merits of the food alone. If you need a pick me up from a long night of whatever you do at night - or if you simply want a large quantity for affordable prices in this inflation-happy economy... this is your jam. Otherwise, I don't see it.

Oleesha N.

Yelp
Forgot to add my fries and charge me 7.00 tip on to go,$40 for three sandwiches. I'm glad I didn't put cash money like I planned in the top bucket.
google avatar

Brenden K.

Yelp
Not great, but not terrible either. This place fit the bill for the type of meal we were looking for the other day. The wait wasn't too long, but the price on the receipt wasn't the same as what was advertised. Not sure if this was a mistake or if something else was going on. The sandwich was pretty good but lacking beef and cheese. The bread to beef ratio was pretty off in favor of the bread. The fries were way too salty. My expectations weren't too high coming in here, so I wasn't too upset. All in all, I probably would return if I needed food in a pinch.
google avatar

Yelp
I was really craving a chicken cheesesteak from Texadelphia, but I remember the last time I had one from Texadelphia, it was awful, so it's been a good minute (a year or so) since I had one and that craving came along yesterday and so I decided to hunt on Yelp for another place that makes chicken cheesesteaks. So I found this place in my hometown of Oak Cliff that makes chicken cheesesteaks and I am glad I did. This place is a hole in the wall type of place, but it does good business. I got there around two'ish or so and me and another person were the only ones in there, but soon after I placed my order, a family of 5 came in for dining in, two others came in after that and were picking up orders for DoorDash, so this place is hoppin' with business, and I wanna say it almost seems that everyone behind the counter were family. Who knows, but that's how it felt, LOL! Anywho, the girl that took my order was very nice and polite. So I ordered the twelve inch chicken cheesesteak with extra cheese and I added jalapenos to it, (again, I'm from Texas so I put that sh*t on everything, LOL!). So I brought that bad boy home and unwrapped it and it was full of chicken, cheese and everything nice. I was pretty impressed with it and it tasted good. I'm definitely coming back for more delicious chicken cheesesteaks and continue to support our local businesses.

Aracely J.

Yelp
Food is great , hood staple . Except the workers will talk about you and mock you openly :) take your food to go!
google avatar

Tonya W.

Yelp
Delicious food and very fast service. The food is always hot and accurate. It's an old gem and we love coming from afar to eat here. Restaurant is clean and ready to serve with a good attitude and atmosphere.
google avatar

Danyel B.

Yelp
The worst. Ordered a cheesesteak salad and got a naked cheesesteak sandwich. Soda was watery and worthless. I called to ask what happened with my order and told me that's what I ordered. I told her it wasn't and read it right off the app. I asked how they missed a whole salad and the lady on the phone just kept saying "I know" as if she wasn't paying attention to me. Safe to say they lost my attention. Never again.

Matt A.

Yelp
As someone from the north east, never knew I'd get such a great cheesesteak in TX! What a great spot. Cheesesteak was flavorful, added their Chipotle Mayo and it was even better. Fries were crispy and fresh. Establishment was very clean. Staff was friendly and prices were fair.

Keneann S.

Yelp
very good food and juicy flavors great prices and lovely menu items. Great service also

Chris B.

Yelp
First time trying it today, I had got the cheesesteak shrimp 10/10 I will definitely be coming back!

Michael W.

Yelp
Food service was great. Ordered the cheesy steak. Was cooked to perfection. First time, definitely not the last.
google avatar

Ebone' W.

Yelp
Food was solid. I opted for take out and ordered a basic cheesesteak with fries and some wings--which didn't take too long to provide. I cannot think of the sauce on the wings that I got but I requested light sauce and they completed my order correctly. Wings were good, fried perfectly and still hot when I got home. Nice! I asked for the mayolte sauce on the side for my cheesesteak and it was really good. The bread was a little thicker than my liking (or I should have just put it into the microwave when I got home), but the taste of the sandwich was on point. Fries were good too. I think next time I will ask for extra onions and perhaps try the chicken philly, just because. Location wise, you can almost miss it because its in a very small strip mall but its right on the street so not terribly hidden. I'll go back when in the mood for a nice philly. I love the local joints!

Veronica P.

Yelp
First time visiting and it was great! Staff was nice and patient as it took me a minute to decide but I was pleased!
google avatar

Axel A.

Yelp
The food was good. However, it seems that they don't wash their hands after using the restroom. I have not been able to eat anything since then. After an hour, i started feeling symptoms, I started vomiting and diarrhea, and I was given an IV bag at the hospital because Cheesteak House gave me E. Coli.
google avatar

G K.

Yelp
Best Philly I had in Dallas I do recommend trying this once I'm sure you will be back. Surprising the wings were great to. You can go wrong trying one of the two.
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
I ordered two cheese steak 1 regular no jalapenos, 1 large with extra cheese. My biggest complaint was the meat was reminiscent of a Bodega Chopped Cheese sandwich not Philly Steak meat. I've ordered from here twice before over the last few years and each time it was less than stellar. I don't have any pics but I can guarantee you my sandwich got eaten because I was hungry, not because it was GOOD

Jesus O.

Yelp
the service here is amazing I always come to get their amazing fries and my favorite sauce from them joel sauce, highly recommended this it is great restaurant.

Yelp
This place is LEGIT! I spent ~2 years in Philadelphia and had Philly cheesesteaks at some of the best spots like: Dalesssandro's (my favorite) John's Roast Pork Dinic's Campo's Sonny's And also the popular but not as great: Pat's Gino's And I can say without a doubt this place can hold its own against any of these. Their traditionally cheesesteak is delicious and the cheese sauce they use is as good as any I had in Philly. I've also tried the poblano cheesesteak and it was really good with a spicy kick. The other thing that sets this place apart is the bread. I asked the guy at the counter and he said they get it shipped from a bakery in Pennsylvania. Other places I've tried in Texas use regularly hoagie bread meant for subs and it's just not the same. It's like making a taco with pita bread or spinach wrap or a burger with rye or sandwich bread. It just not the same. The bread makes a huge difference. Glad to have finally found this place and I'd highly recommend it!

Yelp
The Cheesesteak situation up in here just ain't right. I ate to the point that I felt incredibly uncomfortable. I was going to go with a buffalo chicken steak kind of thing, but I knew that I couldn't give this joint a fair shake if I didn't have a Cheesesteak. So after much deliberation - I decided to go with the pizza cheesesteak. But let me tell you, there are plenty of options to go with here. Whoever is leading their test kitchen in the back is a creative genius. The different ways of creating delicious steak dishes and sauces take these meals to the next level. The pizza cheesesteak was a brilliant mix of steak, marinara sauce, and pepperoni. I've had a sandwich similar to this in Philly, and that one was not as good as The Cheesesteak House, that's gotta mean something. The meat wasn't super fatty and chewy that you will get in a lot of low quality cheesesteaks. The fries had a hefty seasoning of some beautiful blend of spices, and when you put their various sauces on top, you will not be able to stop shoveling them in your mouth. The special sauce that they have is in the top tier of sauces that I've ever had at a restaurant such as this. If you want to have a night where you eat until you feel awful about yourself, this is where you want to go. You will not be let down. Just make sure you get the large cheesesteak, it's worth it. Nate H stamp of approval (TM)

Yelp
Stop here and got a beef Philly steak and cheese sandwich combo. Total came out to like 14 dollars and some change. I accidentally left my drink smh. The combo comes with 2 sauces with the choices of ranch, ketchup a house made spicy mayo and some kind of chipotle sauce. They also have queso which I purchased a small container at $1.14. The queso was bland. The Philly steak was bland and really didn't have any seasoning on the beef. I had to drown the steak in ranch dressing to eat it. The fries were bland too as well. I've had way better steaks than this. Maybe they have something better on the menu idk. I'm definitely not going to return to find out.

Yelp
Tried Cheesesteak house a few weeks ago. Ordered via Ubereats. Order was delivered quickly. Had the cheesy cheesesteak with extra meat, fries, and shared lemon pepper wings(fried hard). The cheesesteak was surprisingly quite disappointing. It had plenty of meat but I could barely see or taste any cheese and I had to add seasoning. Guessing I just ordered on the wrong day. On the other side of things, the wings were DELICIOUS! I'm going to try them again just to get the wings. Hopefully the cheesesteak will be as good as others say the next time I try them.
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Only reason why I'm giving this place two stars is because the food is delicious.... I recommend the lemon pepper wings FRIED HARDor the basic cheesesteak sandwich... seasoned so well...... other than that the service is absolute trash and the place is dirty and mildewy.... the kitchen are LOOKS clean but doubtful because the eating/lobby area is so dirty... granted this is a very old building.... I hate absolutely hate a business that charge for CONDIMENTS... only way to not be charged for the ranch dipping sauce is if u eat in.... This is often a packed lunch time spot...very small space... I don't understand the people who actually decide to sit in and eat while people are standing over u in line.... especially during a pandemic..... The customer service is GARBAGE these people are not gracious at all...

Tyler L.

Yelp
Incredible Philly cheesesteak. Probably the best chipotle dipping sauce I've ever had. Highly recommend this place. Their bread for the sandwich is top tier too.
