Cheesie's Pub & Grub - Garfield Ridge

Fantastic sandwiches and the fried pickles were really good too. They have chalkboards on all the walls and the tables were chalkboards also, and you're encouraged to draw everywhere, which is lots of fun. The server was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!!

The food was great, the service was too and the bartender was very nice and accommodating. It's small on the inside but it had character. I'll be coming back.

Went for a quick lunch and to check out the new place in our area. First off, u come in, and it has a nice little upbeat atmosphere to it with a bunch of tvs around and some indie alternative beats playing. The place has a nice little bar area as well to sit, but I chose a table on the other side. Placed my order, and it was received in a relatively fast manner. I'll post the Pic of it as well. The menu has a decent selection of grilled cheeses that each have their own little twist to them. Prices in today's economy for a local place I can understand why it's up there, and I don't blame them. So any way, I ordered the "Tenderizer" which is grill cheese and breaded chicken tenders in it with a side of fries (sides are separate as well as drinks) and a pop which claims to be a 20 Oz on the menu but it seemed like a regular 16 Oz cup to me but not a big deal. The grill cheese was nice and fresh as we're the fries. As expected, it was very cheesy well toasted bread with I believe butter and the breaded chicken tender pieces inside. It was very delicious although I felt it could use some more chicken pieces in it. The fries were nice and crispy and dipped in the ranch cup was also delicious. Overall I'd say it was a very good place for a meal. They have board games and some systems which I believe u can ask to play there while waiting for food. I'd recommend it to go check it out if ur in the neighborhood. Very pleased with the food.

Sometimes the service can be hit or miss due to experience of some of the waiters. I do love the food though and the environment is cute. I do miss the 20% Discount but I'm assuming public servants were being cheap (HOPEFULLY I wasnt one of them haha) it is what it is I do enjoy the place

I paid $24 for a grilled cheese sandwich, fries, and a pizza puff. The fry container was hardly filled, the pizza puff was the same exact pizza puff you get anywhere else for half the price, the sandwich itself is good, but it's a grilled cheese sandwich. It's kind of hard to mess that up. When I ordered I was asked what type of fries I wanted and given the choices. I chose curly fries, not being told there's a $3.50 upcharge for curly fries. Seen that on my bill after I paid. To recap, $24 for a grilled cheese dinner... This place will not be around long.

Food was absolutely delicious our server was Billy he was absolutely amazing he was very quick and on time with everything never failed to pick up our garbage right away and even cracked jokes with us

Really awesome place-- the food rocks, the decor is great, and Billy is an awesome server. Got recommended this place by a coworker, and I've gotta thank them for it. If you want my recommendation, the Tenderizer is seriously damn good, and the fried pickles are super savory. Great place to go for a lunch break.

The ladies in my group stopped here after the cookie walk, the bartender “Billy” didn’t greet us or even want take our order. He kept telling us that it would take a “long time” to get our food order in. So disappointing. I was really looking forward to checking this place out, and thought on a Saturday afternoon why would we have a problem with service. And he wouldn’t give us a time. We did not have a pleasant experience here at all. Billy, … I think you should find a different position. And then as my friends stuck it out Clarissa came and asked if we wanted to order. I think Clarissa deserves recognition. Because she personally came to help take our order and said it would only take 15 minutes not an hour.

Service was spot on and the server was friendly and attentive. Started with the homemade fried pickle appetizer which was very good, not greasy and made in "clean" oil. Sandwiches were the single smashed cheesie and the tenderizer. Both were served hot and with the seasoned fries which were also very good. This is a nice place to stop in for a quick lunch - beers and food are reasonably priced. The toilet in the women's bathroom is loose - be careful. Cleanliness is pretty good, although they could hit the corners and baseboards a little bit better

I give this is 4 stars overall, but 5 for the Garfield Ridge area, as there just aren't a whole lot of nicer sit down spots in the area. Not to say it's fancy or anything, but it's a very good newer option for Archer Avenue, with lots of food and drink options. I imagine it's the same menu as the other Cheesie's locations. I got the Melt sandwich, it tasted on par with the food from the North side location. Service was pretty fast, and they have a good amount of seating options. Again, nothing crazy, but it's just good to see Garfield Ridge get a nicer option like this, as a lot of the bars just have drinks and no food, or are just food places. I have friends who live down here, so they often go out on Archer for bdays or events, so I'm glad to see this as a new option, and would definitely vote to stop here for any future events in the area.

This is their new location on Archer Ave. it was our first visit. We dined in, this is a restaurant & pub. The food was delicious, but two of our sandwiches were made wrong & had to be remade. There was a long wait for our drinks & I had to ask for water at the counter after another table was given theirs. I understand that they are busy but we were here for twenty minutes after we had placed our order. Myself & my daughters agree that we would give them another try after they've established themselves. After that visit I will give an updated review.

Sandwiches are mediocre at best , multiple times the fries are disgusting, seems like they are microwaved

The menu is decent, they stay open late, and they support the police. That's cool. Service is hit or miss. Last night we stopped by and the bartender and waitress went out of their way to not serve us. Didn't matter if you were at the table or bar with your credit card out. It seemed like we were invisible. They did the same thing to another couple. But the teenager crews that came in after us were served right away. WTF?!? I wish Ash would have regular hours so we could just go there.

The restaurant is nice and clean. The food is good and prices are reasonable. There are 2 great hostesses that keep me coming back. Lyla and Karissa are helpful and friendly.

Great food. Great bartenders. Local business. Would be a shame if this neighborhood lost another good bar and grille.

I've had Cheesies on the North side so I went in thinking no way the food is that good but it was. The place is the old Lindies so a little dated but it's fine as a bar/restaurant. Frenchie was good with the sauce. Son had the Balboa also great with the sauce. Fries were seasoned and crispy. I see most of the reviews are about the price vs food quantity but it's a grilled cheese sandwich on steroids. Might look small to some but it's heavy and very filling. The neighborhood might not be used to Northside pricing maybe but $13 for my sandwich I think it's reasonable compared to picking up lunch at any sit down place on Archer.

The place is fun and kid friendly. Our server Carissa was very friendly, patience and kind with our family. We asked a dozen questions and she answered each one with a smile. The restaurant supplied chalk and our little girl was entertained! Great place to bring the family or to come in and sit at the bar and have a drink! Definitely will be back and will be making this place a regular go to spot!

Took the waitress almost 10 mins to take our order. Another 10 mins goes by and I had to ask for our drinks. Thirty mins later our order (3 sandwiches and order of tenders) comes out and one of the sandwiches is wrong. Wait staff was horrible and has no urgency! Food was lack luster and for the prices and small portions not worth it. Won't go back.

Everything we ordered was amazing! The burgers were so fresh, the sandwiches were hearty, and the soup was delicious. Definitely a neighborhood gem.

Food was ok. Not sure $16 for a grilled cheese sandwich only is worth it. At least include fries for that ridiculous price. Paid $10 for fried pickles. They were all stuck together and very greasy. It was definitely not worth it for the pickles. The pickles were a giant lump of grease. See pic. Very mediocre.

My family and I will be returning often!! We have always gone to the Cheesie's in Belmont or the Milwuakee location, it was our first time visiting this one as it is closer to home. We enjoyed everything, from how clean we noticed the kitchen is, to the fresh and delicious tasting food. Also cannot praise their employees enough, they were so warm welcoming and beyond friendly and accommodating.. especially considering we had a toddler in her terrible twos with us. Our server made every effort to make sure we were pleased with the service and food. She right away let us know about the gaming options they have and chalk for the little one... she of course went to the only wall without the chalk board paint, instead of telling us to have her only draw in indicated chalk areas, the manager I think it was, said it was okay and joined her in drawing a Minnie Mouse.. HANDS DOWN BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. My family, friends, visitors and I will be coming back ALWAYS. KEEP IT UP!

Something about a grill cheese while having a few drinks and playing nostalgic video games really hits the spot after a long day at work hahaha. Food has been top tier since they opened. Buffalo wings are 10/10 gassss. The servers are always on it, very informative and polite, bartenders are very attentive. The areas they have the video games in is really chill, all the old school games I played when I was a kid were there. Kara the bartender was super chill and had a great vibe, gave me a wristband and now everytime I go I get 10% off my bill! Great place

Went in there late night several times around midnight. Bartender told us she just called last call. She seemed to be having her own little private party with 4-5 people. Will never go there again!

Having your bartender ask repeatedly "are you ready to cash out" is really infuriating especially when it's only happening to you and your wife, who were the only poc in the establishment. Get rid of the older woman and hire people who don't care about race

Came in for a few drinks and my favorite bartender wasn't there. I still decided to stay just to enjoy the food and trivia. My food took forever and the staff wasn't that nice. I understand when it gets busy people tend to get stressed but that doesn't mean take it out on the customers. On top of that, I overheard the older bartender with red hair telling customers to write a good review about her and they'd get free drinks? That's not how a business should be ran.

We stopped in to cheeise's yesterday for the first time. I was excited as I had tasted their food before st a concert a few years earlier and figured it was great there, so if the food truck held up than the restaurants got to be even better right? Wrong. $43 for 2 tiny sandwiches a water a pepsi and an appetizer. she got the mac which tasted like a grilled cheese w noodles and butter.....mainly butter, I got the popper, which was good but again tiny. We ordered thr loaded tater tots which again super small portion thr chili was cold the tots were cold so well. It seems like they have the place geared towards kids which is great if you have them, but for 2 adults find somewhere else to go for a decent meal.

I went in on 11/06/2024 at around 6:53pm to order a couple sandwiches for my family and I.This was my first time coming in so I was very excited. As I enter I see a worker with Red hair and glasses . I go over and inform her this is my first time in am I able to place an order for pick up with you? She ignores me when I asked her that question . I asked her again thinking she didn't hear me. She then goes to her register/ computer and just looks at me without saying anything . So I proceed to take that as a yes and order some sandwiches. I asked her if i can have 2 Frenchies and if one of them can have marinara sauce since they usually come with sauce . Once again this is my first time in i've been to the other locations before in La grange and Wrigley and the sandwiches come with a sauce . For the specific sandwich I get it comes with sour cream I wanted to switch it to mariana sauce. So I asked her if I can get that type of sauce she interrupts me very rudely and raises her tone of voice and says "IT DOESN'T COME WITH SAUCE". At this point Im thinking to myself this lady is either having a bad day or is racist since I am hispanic . So whatever I continue my order I see a sign that states $1 for the OG sandwich for the grand opening . I asked her if I can get that and if that's the correct sandwich for the deal. She continues to raise her voice and says "GIVE ME THE CODE!" I told her I don't have a code how do I get one ? She told me If you would read the sign it says to scan the code . She then proceeds to walk away from me and assist someone at the bar .At this point I didn't want to order anything so I just left as soon as she walked away from me. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced! I wish I would have seen the reviews before going in ! The name of the worker is Kara . She has red hair and glasses .I do not recommend anyone to come to this location. I really hope that Kara lady is having a better day . That attitude will not get her anywhere in life.

As a regular I am appalled at the service I received today from Kara.I waited a long amount of time just to get menus, a long with Three people in my party of five who ordered drinks and did not receive them. Along with waiting half an hour for part of our food and water, consistently being ignored when we tried asking questions or asking for service. We were also told that salads were currently not on menu(even though it was written on the menu and had it earlier on Monday) and another table next to us received two salads AFTER we got our food. We ten asked a different server if they had salads and were told yes a and finally received one after an hour. And at no point took any of our dirty dishes cleared off until we asked for the check despite the numerous times she passed by. Not to mention we were one of the only tables of people of color who were not served well. We also had a coupon code for a discounted checked that was not applied until we asked a different server. Genuinely some of the worst service I have received, if I could give this place 0 stars I would
