CHEF CAROL SOUTHERN KITCHEN

Everything we had was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and fresh. We have visited other soul food restaurants in the city and this is The Best hands down. We had to order sides to go for our leftover meats. Definitely spreading the word to all my friends and family that either live here or will be visiting. Chef Carol you did not disappoint.

Im writing this now but this is my feelings from 04/24/21. My cousin and his wife are here a few days prior to the above date. On that day I had my wedding at a chapel in Vegas and 9 of us went to this restaurant. In my world this made the best reception any man could ask for. The people were wonderful the food we had no complaints. But to meet and take pictures with Chef Carol was a gift of itself next to my new wife. This place is wonderful so someone please explain to me why it's temporary closed.

Best kept secret on MLK! Yes they are still open during the pandemic and pushing out fresh food all day. We walked in and was immediately greeted by her friendly staff. In the background played smooth jazz setting a cool calm environment. Everyone had masks on and hand sanitizer was present. After being seated by her pleasant staff we ordered water with lemon and sweet tea. That sweet tea (x2) of theirs gave me life 4real from the heat wave outside. We patiently waited for our food out of the scratch kitchen listening to smooth jazz and other soulful songs. Periodically the staff would check on us to see if we needed a refill. Oh when we received our heavenly meals! Oh what a time, oh what a time! It was so fresh and so delicious. I will definitely be going back again and again and again. We've ordered her cornbread, fried chicken 3x, fried snapper, macaroni and cheese, rice and gravy 4x and sweet potatoes 3x. My two favorite meals are the FRIED CHICKEN and HEAVENLY SWEET POTATOES! Y'all don't sleep on those sweet potatoes at Chef Carols! Her sweet potatoes are HEAVENLY! They remind me of my great grandmothers cooking. I'll be going back at least 4x a month now.

Didn't expect amazing soul food out on the west coast especially not in Nevada. Biggest shock of our trip. Food was so good! And this is from someone from the the south and country. I know soul food. #MustHaveInVegas. 2 dinners were $50

Started lookin for a soul food place the other day. And remember seeing this spot awhile ago. Decided to give them a try and wasn't disappointed. Soon as we came in in we where greeted and givin a table. Food came out promptly and was hot and delious (oxtails) plus yams and black eyed peas. The whole meal was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. What a little gem I found..i definitely will be back!!

Y'ALL...Y'ALL...Y'ALL!!!!! This woman almost made me cry eating her food because I'm from the South (like DEEP South, like MISSISSIPPI South) and this food made me miss my momma/grandma/mother in law/aunties/daddy/uncles, nieces, cousins friends, etc. Her fried pork chop...🥰🥰🥰 I don't get to eat pork chops often because my husband tries not to eat pork...A-FREAKING-MAZING...ALL her sides were amazing. Kool-aid was ON POINT! My husband's seafood platter...BOMB!!! And for those that think it's overpriced, coming from a HUGE penny pincher, I'll be honest, I thought so too until the plates came out with huge portions of meat and the food went in my mouth. The love and tenderness that this was made with is priceless, YOU HEAR ME??? Go on down there and get you some of WHATEVR she done decided in her spirit to bless you with cuz I'm DEFINITELY gonna go back to be blessed! She even came out and talked to us several times and saw us out before we left. Phenomenal woman, Phenomenal place, Phenomenal food!!!! #periodt

I really was looking forward to trying the food out after watching someone else's video about this restaurant. I really had a taste for soul food. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away. The server was very nice, but she was not wearing a mask. I kept my mask on. That didn't have greens the day I went , so I ordered the cabbage as a side dish with smothered pork chop. The server told me it also comes with rice and gravy. I'm not a fan of white rice, but I was going to try it anyway. The food was delicious! I also enjoyed the ole school music. Chile, I even ate all the rice and gravy. A couple of people came in after me and the server put a mask on, but it was sitting under her chin. I didn't quite get that, and that is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

I was a little sceptical at first, the young lady really wasnt paying attention when I walked up. Wrapped up in a conversation. Then another lady came out and ordered a menu and took my order. Now. The food...... This is a must. Home cooking taste, perfectly seasoned , heated just right. The cornbread is the best Ive ever had. The gravy on the rice must have been made by someones grandma. This is a must if youre in the area. Best and cheapest meal I ve had in Vegas. I ll be back before I fly out. 10 stars. 🌟
