Update edit: 7/1/25. Owner claims the main door was supposed to be closed. There were no sign of store being closed at all. Workers were working in an out. There was another female customer who came inside and ordered and she also sat down. If it was actually closed you would had told me and the lady it’s closed and go thru drive thru. So it’s really disappointing for you to say that while it wasn’t addressed. Some compensation needs to be done. People can get sick from the unhygienic conditions 😞 I walked in the store and I saw people moving around boxes like a new order came in for supplies. I just came first time to pick deer food. Heard good things about it. As you see from the picture I was like bizarrely shocked how all over the store was. Felt like a tornado came and twisted things around. No clean table just 1-2. They need to pick up their cleaning game. Idk how long it was left like that. As the stereo type goes. Dirtiest place has the best food. Kinda ironic how it promotes hygiene from the last pic you’ll see and also the spikes on the floor you’ll see. Like I almost tripped three times. Need to be careful. Someone can get hurt. As a lahori origin Muslim brother. You have duty as a Muslim man to take care of the mankind and customer needs 🤲🏾may allah subhanahu wa ta’ala make it easy upon ya

We had such a wonderful experience here! The entire staff was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere on the outdoor patio made for a perfect lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, and to top it off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert—which was such a thoughtful touch. A special shoutout to Irfan, who truly went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. His kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality stood out from the moment we arrived. He made us feel like valued guests and ensured every detail of our experience was just right. If I ever return to Frisco, this spot will be at the top of my list—and it’s all thanks to Irfan and the amazing team!

Google
This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hot and sour soups I've ever had. When I mentioned it to the front desk, the bearded employee dismissed my complaint, saying that's 'the way it's supposed to be.' I had ordered my meal to dine in, but they served it to me in a takeout container. Even worse, they don't provide water for customers, which seems like a serious health code violation. I truly hope the health department looks into this restaurant.

Google
The Chef Chen buffet was phenomenal and Irfan treated us really well. Irfan ensured all the food was hot and constantly filled. Everything tasted excellent. We will definitely be back. If you go, ask for Irfan and he’ll take care of you!

Delicious halal Chinese. Ordered Mongolian beef and general tso chicken as well as hot and sour soup. The food was fresh and very well seasoned. The beef was super tender and the chicken was juicy. The server was very friendly and kind. Looks like they were doing some renovation maybe so I would call before taking a big party, but it was a really really good meal!

Google
Totally awesome and authentic Chinese restaurant. This is a rare find and the food is much more delicious than many other similar restaurants around city. Try their Low Mein noodles, black pepper chicken, Mongolian beef, egg drop soup.

Google
Really good. Convenient website ordering and drive-thru. Beef LO MEIN was cooked to perfection and quality white meat chicken used in Chicken Fried Rice. Great lunch specials, all dishes are $8.99, can't beat it. Friendly staff, too.

Google
Food was delicious. I really wanted won ton soup in which they do not carry. I got the chicken corn soup which I did not like due to the raw eggs in the soup. I am sure without the egg it would have tasted delicious. I ordered the shrimp lo mein for my main course which was delicious, shrimp tender and the sauce on the noodles was delicious. Service was fast and friendly price was reasonable for the portion received. I would definitely eat here again

Yelp
The food here is always tasty. Old school msg laden flavors. Just what we were looking for. Had the chicken fried rice as well as a dish with chicken, beef and shrimp with veg and gravy (on the chef specials and I can't remember the name ) the corn flower soup is also just right.

Yelp
Worst place to order food from. Would have rated negative if I had option. Worst service, no quality of flavor in food whatsoever. They have screwed up our order TWICE!!! Always skipped items while delivering and never have courtesy to take care of it when reported. Always charged and never delivered complete order. What a shame! Would recommend skipping to order take out from this place.

Yelp
Order $50 worth of food for delivery..never arrived and they won't take responsibility and won't refund my money. Couldn't tell you about the food but the service sucks.

Brian W.

Yelp
They greatly decreased their portion sizes, and didn't decrease their prices at all. Used to order here all the time, but moved. Got it while driving through, and was severely disappointed when I got home. Food was good, but again much smaller portions. Probably wont be returning until I hear about the portions going back to the way they were, or the prices come down.

Yelp
Not typical service but keep in mind it's a south Asian counter service place where you don't get refills. The hot & sour soup was very nice - coulda been a little bit thicker, hotter, & more vinegar. Still was happy to have it. The steamed dumplings were nice. They didn't taste like frozen cardboard so if they purchase them, they either keep refrigerated and cook fresher that way or they maybe thaw first. Either way was nice. The sauce was good also. The beef lo mein was good & normally hate beef. The noodles were perfect texture & it's the first place where they julienne the veggies instead of giving you a ton of veggies for filler lol. We didn't expect that! To get beef lo mein instead half an onion. Kudos for that. Chicken Manchurian was my fave. The red peppers & jalapeños & sauce. I allowed it to get mushy eating the other things. My bad. It was cooked very well. I liked it a lot. The veggie dish we tried was the imperial tofu. It was a bit softer than most places so don't order if you have texture issues or ask them to dry it a bit. The flavor was good & they have a good selection of vegetarian things. I kinda wish they had paneer to substitute but understand I'm probably the only person who wants that in Chinese food lol. We liked this a lot & thankful for a halal Chinese option. Also - the portions are huge. If you order a small appetizer you can for sure split an entree. We are taking home a full noodle serving & two heavy full to go boxes. 4-5 people could have dined for this $58 for sure

Yelp
This place has been on my radar ever since I moved here, but because it was a drive I haven't been until last weekend. I was finally in the area, so I called in an order for beef lo mein to go. Can't say much about service or ambiance because I didn't eat there I'm really glad I ordered because I was looking for a halal place that had the comfort American chinese takeout style taste. It did have a little too much soy sauce, but I'd just ask for less next time. I'll definitely be ordering again.

Yelp
We went during Ramadan for their iftar buffet. The food was good and plenty of it, they had water and room Afzah. The place was packed but not too bad, staff were very accommodating and nice.

Yelp
I just moved to Frisco so wanted to try this place out! I placed an order (apps, entree, and dessert). The food was decent but I was blown away by my dessert. I ordered a NY Cheesecake but ended up getting Turtle Cheesecake bites. Initially, I wasn't thrilled about the bites I received as I wanted the NY style cheesecake, that was until I tried them! I actually LOVED the turtle cheesecake bites, so much so that I called back two days later to order more of them! Upon calling back to order more, I was given pushback and advised that I could not get the turtle cheesecake bites as they were only on a dine-in "buffet menu". I then advised the gentleman that was not the case two days prior with my carryout order and was given the turtle cheesecake bites without even asking for them. All in all, he did not accommodate. This poor experience made me change my mind about this place as it was "Chef's Chen" service failure to begin with that put me in the predicament, giving me the wrong item. I'm not going to attend a buffet just for cheesecake bites I want so looks like I won't be returning.

Yelp
After having a not so great experience here many moons ago my other half informed me of an insanely good deal they were having so we decided to give it a try again. We did take out so no comments bout the in restaurant service. I am happy to report that along with a face lift inside and out, the food seems to have gone through a similar quality improvement. It was good. I'm not going to contextualize it here other than to say that before I wouldn't consider it as a valid dining option despite being in the neighborhood but the recent experience changes that. I hope they keep up the quality this time. :)

Yelp
These guys can delivery on quality Chinese food, but this and somewhat decent customer service is all the positives I can give on this visit. The restaurant may appear inviting enough at first glance, but the guy operating at the countertop who spoke our language was a bit hard to understand just taking our order, I had to remind him that he forgot our order of water that unexpectedly came in bottles, ketchup is apparently a condiment for a Chinese restaurant, my friend and I were sweating mildly because of the lack of air conditioning (because it was a peak summertime day and was not helped by a back door cracked open), and the restroom didn't have any paper towels. The whole meal that was amazing is barely a saving grace for me to return here unless you order delivery.

Pam L.

Yelp
Ordered to go and everything was packed well and on time. Unfortunately that was pretty much the only good thing about it. We ordered chicken lo mein and sesame chicken. Both dishes were awful, sad to say. The lo mein tasted like there was a chemical in it, really weird aftertaste. The sesame chicken would've been promising but the sauce is WAYYYYY too sweet. Like chicken in sugar sauce. Not a pleasant experience. Hopefully they improve on their recipes.
google avatar

Bryan R.

Yelp
We really loved the sesame chicken and the service was spot on. For a smaller place it was very nice. Can't go wrong with pickup either - the leftovers we took home were good.

Skylar C.

Yelp
Bruh the worst service and food Iv ever had at a Chinese restaurant The dude took our order and didn't even bring one of our meals and our egg rolls He gave a lot of attitude and gave attitude when we would correct something that was his wrong doing There's no respect from anyone the minute u walk in

Faaiza Z.

Yelp
This review is past due. Irfan the server was amazing. Great service. He gave us great description of all the dishes we requested. Heater was not working though so we were freezing, but the food made us very happy. 4 stars for the freezing cold temp. otherwise food and service got 5 stars.
google avatar

Shubha S.

Yelp
This place is a HEALTH HAZARD! The entire jar of chilli oil was covered in fungus! That made me lose my appetite complerely. I visited this place after several years and it seems to be under different management. Quality has gone down significantly. For a Chinese restaurant, they don't even serve any kind of hot tea...I will not visit again! The service was okay atleast.
google avatar

Nadeem Z.

Yelp
The best value and the best tasting Chinese food in Frisco. Very friendly service from the staff made the dining experience even more pleasant. The food was freshly prepared but it didn't take for ever. This has become our go to place both for dine in, and take out whenever we crave good Chinese food. One of the staff member, Irfan was super helpful and had an extremely nice attitude which we so much appreciate when we go out to eat.
google avatar

Veremundo D.

Yelp
This place has great food and service definitely recommend this place. The girl that works there is very helpful her name is Sana

Yelp
I am so happy to have found this place. Since moving to Texas 3 years ago, we haven't found a Chinese restaurant that really hits the spot until today. The food is great, fast, and large portions. We had the Mongolian beef, Szechuan shrimp, and vegetable lo mien. I wish I took pics lol. All very very good. This is my go to place to eat when I come to Frisco from now on. The service wasn't bad and as for the ambiance I have to say it's a pleasant hole in the wall. By the way, I forgot to mention this place is Zabiha.

Rebecca F.

Yelp
Fried rice seemed a little stale and just didn't have good flavor. They also forgot part of my order. We had been here awhile back and had eaten in the dining room. Now the whole place just seems a cluttered mess. We won't return.

Yusra M.

Yelp
I took my friend for a birthday lunch. we really enjoyed it. the food was really good. They made my friends bday by giving cake, fries, and somasa. and the orange chicken and fries were really good. the orange chicken sauce is the best.

Yelp
Best be avoided! We read some Google reviews that were good so we decided to give this place a try. The place markets itself as an indopak-Chinese restaurant and it's anything but. When we initially walked in, they seemed surprised to see customers at 6pm on a Saturday. Two of the guys appeared to be busy preparing some catering order and just told us ti take a seat. Then they went back to doing whatever they were doing. After a few mins a waiter showed up and when I asked him some questions about the menu , he looked like he had seen a ghost. He then had to go and ask one of the other guys about it. Then I asked him what types of drinks do you have. He again had to go and ask about that. Absolute zero customer service. At one point I told my partner let's just leave as I didn't have high hopes for the food but we decided to persevere through. The food was ok nothing spectacular and nothing like Pakistani Chinese. Oh and on a hot DFW summer day, they had no AC on. The icing on the cake came when after we water out of the restaurant after paying our bill, we had the server come after us telling us we didn't pay. I told him yes we did and he told me 'no, you didn't!'. My partner then showed him the receipt to prove that we did. SMH, never returning

Yelp
My friend and I ate here because it was nearby the shops. The food is meh. The Beef Lo Mein was lacking flavor. Honey Garlic Chicken was decent - sauce was flavorful and chicken wasn't dry - but it didn't have that crunchiness I look for in good fried chicken. The staff were friendly and the place looked clean.
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
Well I hate this... it must be new and not authentic ownership. Chef Chen use to be a real Chinese restaurant. The food was above average for Frisco and everything was easy. Not now. The place is filthy. I mean down right nasty dirty. The service is blah and the food is horrible. Don't let other fake reviews tell you anything different. Listen to me, they are close to having food inspection violations. The food is not good. Eggrolls were bad. It's not Chinese. I don't know what it is now but it isn't authentic. Do not eat here. And remember I warned you.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
I am not sure who owns this place, but they use spices and flavors that are just not like any other Chinese place I have ever eaten at and just does not satisfy my Asian food cravings, except the egg rolls. The portions are descent, even generous, but it is like the Taco Bell of Asian food, sorry to say. I ordered orange chicken, General Tso's chicken and lamb fried rice and chicken fried rice and egg rolls for my family. We ended up throwing 80% of it away and I never like to waste food. It was gross. Did they have friends post reviews or maybe even a contest for a free egg roll to give a higher rated review. Located near the Stonebriar mall.

Yelp
Craving for some yummy and authentic chinese food in the #dfw area? We have just the place for you! #chefchen is a local chinese restaurant located at Frisco and very easy to find . They have an ongoing August special deal which we availed for just $32, inclusive of taxes! All this food for such an amazing price!! We could choose 1 soup - hot n sour, 3 appetizers - fries, chicken nuggets & vegetable samosa 3 sides - vegetable fried rice & noodles 3 entrees - orange chicken, schezwan chicken & mongolian beef Dessert was gulab jamun The food was just yummm.. the spices were well adjusted and and quantity was more than enough for 5 people!! Although the soup could have been better.. Also, the gulab jamun was a hit!! Been craving it for so long and finally found a place that makes the best gulab jamuns!! I would highly recommend this place to satisfy your taste buds!! #dfw #supportlocalbusiness #smallbusiness #foodphotography #foodiesforlife #foodiecouple #foodreviewers #chinesefood #gulabjamun #samosa #dallasfoodies #exploringdallas #halalfood

Yelp
Horrible customer service , would not recommend. Food not good. No Chinese people even cooking in the kitchen.

Jeff S.

Yelp
First time trying there food and it was very good. The staff was very polite and respectful. I will definitely be back in the future. price was also reasonable.
google avatar

Molly S.

Yelp
I have used Chef Chen on several occasions for a catered lunch to as many as 60 people. I would say hands down they were the best lunches I have ever catered. So many people asking where food came from. The orange chicken is to die for. Delicious chicken egg roles and vegetable fried rice. I highly recommend this place either dine in or carry out or cater.
google avatar

Ebone' W.

Yelp
Whew Chyle. I don't know why it's so hard to make shrimp fried rice. I ordered my food off door dash and it looked great upon delivery, but goodness they didn't add ANY salt to the rice when I tasted it. Like, nothing. I figured the soy sauce would help but it didn't. I attempted to use the duck sauce, but they only gave 1 pack and after using that with my egg roll, that didn't spread too well. They only provided one soy sauce pack too. Mercy. Egg roll was good but you get two stars from me for now if I have to add salt to Shrimp Fried Rice.

Yelp
09/07/2021- Tuesday @1359 Food is great! I like the General Tsao! :-) Will return next time.... Jjay R1616

Yelp
Very clean and friendly people the food is excellent value and generous quantity very highly recommended We had the Szechuan ship and sweet con chicken soup all was done correct

Janie S.

Yelp
yummy! yummy! food was deliciously made and quick with super nice customer service; our lil' family dinner outing included rice, fried rice, fish, sweet & sour chicken and a beef entree topped off with a soft tiramusu mango dessert sponge cake off-menu item that's a homemade chef special recipe; we will come again as this was great value for all the food we had
google avatar

Jesmin N.

Yelp
We came here twice this past Ramadan for their iftar buffet. I loved their chicken corn soup, orange chicken, pepper beef, and spicy chicken with veggies. The chow mein was good and had mushrooms which I'm a fan of. The rice, like a lot of Chinese places, was dry and needed more flavor. We definitely want to check out additional menu items.
google avatar

Jim Z.

Yelp
There was a minor screwup on my order. I asked for no mushrooms in my Hunan chicken, but they put it in there anyway. Not a big deal to pick them out. Also found a strange they didn't have spicy mustard for Chinese food. BUT The food was made on time. And it was delicious.

Farhan K.

Yelp
It's not a dine in place, rather take out. Ordered Hot 'n' sour soup, there was only a piece of chicken floating. Chicken fried rice and chowmein were great. Orange chicken and beef teriyaki was flavorful. Overall food taste was great.
google avatar

Samyam L.

Yelp
Chow mein came with no noodles and wet. Lemon chicken was greasy and the only lemon aspect was the two slices of lemon on top.

Jay W.

Yelp
I was not that impressed at all. The food tasted very basic and the tofu is so soft, it felt slimy. I was expecting more after the reviews I read, but received a huge let down. The only thing I thought was good as the spring roll. I will stick with my go to spot China One, in Carrollton, they make a mean General Tso Tofu dish and not slimy either. Disappointed at this place when I had high hopes.
google avatar

Lisa Jersey Girl W.

Yelp
I had chicken chow mien. I wanted shrimp chow mien but they said no. It was not good and I did not get crackers. Hubby ordered shrimp egg foo young he liked it . Egg rolls and dumplings were not good nothing had taste to it . There are new owners here . Not sure what is going on here but we loved this place . We will not be coming back .
google avatar

KimVi T.

Yelp
From the menu it looks appetizing but when you eat it. Doesn't really have much flavoring to it. I don't really recommend it here. Unless you want something super cheap. They aren't really Chinese food. People here who owns the restaurant aren't Chinese. Not much space to seat at it either.

Gary F.

Yelp
I would have given no stars. This is one of the most disgusting Chinese restaurants I have ever ate at its worst then the worst Buffet you can think of. Spent over $100 on food and it was the most disgusting foul food you can ever eat. Don't waste your time or money on this place don't order off of DoorDash because they will not refund your full amount of money. Frisco should shut this place down.
google avatar

Ayesha K.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere and amazing service. We Recently had a friends birthday party there and the food was delicious. There was not a time that the Buffet plates were empty. We had so many options that included fried rice, lo mein, and their spring rolls and orange chicken was super delicious. Will be back!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Can't really say was one of my best places to dine but I stopped in for my first time to enjoy a little shrimp fried rice and was sort of disappointed at the flavors of the rice. But I also ordered orange chicken and it was flavorful so I might wanna go up and give it another chance and try something different. I can say food is cooked fresh but don't get the eggrolls full of grease should call them grease rolls.Nothing worse than a mouth full of soggy cabbage

Rehma U.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time during covid, it wasn't that good but it was cheap and halal so it is what it is. I decided to try it again a couple months ago and the difference was HUGE. The orange chicken was piping hot and absolutely amazing. I have been a couple times and the food is always great, and the people working are always so friendly. Plus they have a drive thru, which i love.

Susan S.

Yelp
We are at Chef Chan tonight. The food was good, however, just a FYI. When we asked for water, they gave us bottled water. No mention of a charge for this. We asked if we could just get a glass of water and was told bottles were all they had. Also, in the menu, there were two different pages of meals. They were different pages but the items were listed elsewhere at higher prices. We asked what the difference was, thinking maybe the more expensive items came with something more. We were told that the items were the same. The waiter said this page should not be in the menu. He told us he would honor the lower prices. Like I said, the food was good but I don't expect to go back there.

Mary G.

Yelp
My friend Jeanne and I had lunch here today, omgosh so delicious, I ordered the Sesame chicken with broccoli and she ordered a dish not even on the menu and it was no problem for them. Crab Rangoon came out hot, delicious and not greasy. If you have not been here, stop in. The food and service is great.

Yelp
See, I love me some Chinese food. Being Muslim, there aren't many options, but an old restaurant I used to go to in NYC is Fatima's Halal Kitchen. The food was to DIE for. Mere months before we moved to TX they shut down for good. Their Chinese food was to die for. Less about them, I had pretty high standards for my typical lo mein. However, this restaurant did not meet any of my lowest expectations. The staff is great but their food is not. Their prices aren't that amazing either. With this restaurant, it's a hit or miss. I recommend getting fried rice rather than white rice as the white rice can be crunchy (undercooked) sometimes. They use chicken breast, making the meat very dry. (My typical order consists of chicken/shrimp lo mein, chicken and broccoli, fried rice, etc, etc) I do enjoy their chicken lo mein but I might just tell them to stop adding chicken because it can be very dry sometimes! Their sauces are great and generally speaking I do enjoy the place. I do not recommend Chicken Corn Soup because when we ordered it, it smelled so bad that we had to give it back. It smelled like rotten egg. Overall, it's a good place for a quick bite to eat. You really do have to order until you find something you enjoy. Great place, just maybe use better meat. For a halal Chinese joint it's not too bad :) Keep it up!

Syed A.

Yelp
Amazing customer service from our server, Irfan. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. Kids loved the Sesame Chicken and Lo Mein. The Mongolian Beef was ok in taste. We were served the complimentary Egg Drop soup and it was delicious. All in all, we were pretty impressed with this place. Irfan is a very friendly and a pleasant person. He made this experience top-notch.

Maria I.

Yelp
Tasty halal Chinese food. Really appreciate how kind the staff was, including Mr. Irfan.

Peter K.

Yelp
I should've read recent reviews or known something was up when it was empty at lunchtime. I liked the old Chef Chen's, especially the chow mein. I didn't know there was new ownership. My meal looked like it was served in coach on Air China. Plastic utensils and a plastic two part dish. Food was bland, and far off from what Chef Chen's was. It's disappointing
