"The latest addition to Plano’s massive food hall Legacy Hall, Chef Chin’s will start slinging Japanese dishes from chef Chin Liang, who also operates Horu Sushi Bar, when it debuts on February 18. In addition to bowls of fried chicken ramen, fun dishes like hibachi fried rice with filet mignon, soft-shell crab dressed in ponzu, and beef tenderloin tataki await." - Amy McCarthy

This ramen restaurant falls into the category of bottom-of-the-barrel dining experiences. It's akin to grabbing gas station pizza or wings – definitely not a recommendation and not somewhere I'd revisit. Among all the dining options at Legacy Hall, this would undoubtedly be my last choice. I ordered the miso ramen and fried crab(not pictured). The fried crab was passable, but the ramen itself was simply not enjoyable. For those seeking authentic ramen, I'd suggest heading up the road to Ramen Hakata or Kizuki instead. On a positive note, the service was friendly, However, the overall dining experience left much to be desired.

Google
Guys this may be the best Ramen I’ve ever had. I got the steak one and it was so delicious. The broth was unreal. It’s expensive but I feel like it’s worth it.

Google
No taste on the ramen basically felt like salted broth with lighly salted steak and barely anything to eat in terms of portions for 16 bucks. Atlieast compensate with flavor or serving below 1 star for me

BEST fried rice dish out there - got it with the NY Strip steak - could also get it with chicken, shrimp, and other meats - it is simply the best tasting dish I’ve had - I love that they put a little ginger on it - makes it absolutely pop! My favorite place at Legacy West. ADD - went back and got the fried rice dish with the FILET MIGNON - awesome!!! Friend got the salmon - looked sooo good!

One of the places I tried at Legacy Food Hall. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoy eating a lot of Asian food leaning more towards Japanese and Korean cuisine so I’ve tried my fair share of ramens. What I enjoyed the most was the noodles as they were thinner ones but still had the right amount of firmness to it. I think they had a fair amount of meat in it and the broth also tasted just right in my opinion. If I ever find myself back in Legacy Food Hall, I think I’d try their other ramens or fried rice so I’d definitely eat there again.

Google
First visit and ordered their strip steak fried rice. The serving size was generous and fresh. It was a tad too salty but over all tasty with a good variety of veggies. I tossed in a bottle of water and it was about $16 before tip.

Yummm! I love me some ramen and they had so many interesting and delicious options here! I asked for a recommendation, and unfortunately the employee was unable to give me one. He didn’t really know which was kind of odd but he may have been new or never tried the food (I would if I worked there 😂). I went ahead and ordered the Steak Ramen. I was gonna play it safe and get Tonkotsu since that’s always a fav of mine, but I’d never seen steak in ramen, so I went for it. Now, the steak itself didn’t have much seasoning, but the beefy flavor added something special to the broth. The steak pieces were also SO INCREDIBLY tender! 😍 Like, I had to chew 3 times and done type tender. New York strip isn’t an “untender” cut, but I didn’t imagine it would have been Prime Filet type tender! I can’t wait to come back and try more! The fried chicken ramen looks interesting!

Key Words: Fulfilling and Depth One of the best ramen in the recent times. There was one ramen shop in downtown Dallas but this is definitely that fits the Bill. Tired veg spicy ramen and chicken fried rice. Both were great. Most people were trying the spicy ramen with fried chicken. Should be there most popular dish. The portion of the food was good and flavours are very depth. Good size food to share with family or friends.

Yelp
I got their hibachi with chicken, it wasn't special in my opinion, tasted like something I could make at home. Could use a bit more flavor. Food did come out pretty quick, so that was nice.

Yelp
This hibachi spot is located in the legacy food hall in Legacy West. Of all of the food places there, we decided to try it out but was not too happy with our order. The line was long so we thought that maybe it was good. I totally should have yelped it but was thinking how bad can stir fry be. We ordered through a lady up front taking orders, then we paid with another employee, then waited on the side until our food was ready. We had enough time to walk to the middle area to get our drinks from the fountain drink station. We decided to order: 1. Stir Fry Yakisoba with Steak and Chicken - this was way too salty and the chicken and steak was dry. I did not care for this much and wished I had ordered something else. 2. Tonkatsu Ramen - it was just okay, nothing great but good enough to eat. Broth was not too salty which is good and the flavor was okay. 3. Chicken Karaage - this too was a bit salty but fried well. I don't think we will return to this spot as we were not happy with our food and afraid other entrées might be the same.

Yelp
This place is located inside legacy west, there's plenty of seating upstairs, downstairs and outside on the second floor! The scenery is nice . The service was very friendly. We stopped here on the way in to look at the menu while one of the employees talked and played with my daughter. We did not order at that time but we came back around and the service was the same, we ordered and the food did not disappoint! It was very flavorful and different than any stir fry and fried rice I've had. This is a must try!

Nette B.

Yelp
Stopped by and tried the Ramen. I had the Miso Ramen, and the broth was delcious. The meat, however, was a bit hard. Quick and Fast service.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Ahh a great spot to grab some fried rice. I decided to try something a little different. I spiced up my fried rice with some fresh jalapeños and NY strip . Much better than my usual chicken fried rice.

Tanera J.

Yelp
Wanted to try something new. Wanted hibachi. Decided to try this place since it's close to my job. I must say it was pretty delicious hibachi all things considered.. I like to call it fast food hibachi lol but it was delicious. I got the shrimp and my partner got the steak. The shrimp they gave me where well seasoned and a good size. I also got quite a few shrimps in my dish. I really look forward to trying the ramen next time I visit.

Jasmine T.

Yelp
I ordered a teriyaki bowl with steamed rice and veggies. Pros: - Service was quick considering how busy Legacy Hall is - Good portion size Cons: - The chicken was extremely dry - The entire bowl had absolutely NO flavor - The veggies were very crunchy and needed to be cooked more - It's really expensive for a bowl of flavorless food I was very disappointed. I will not be back.

Keff J.

Yelp
Ordered the Lobster Habachi .I was like where is the darn Lobster...there was a big Lobster Tail shell with like 4 bits of lobster...less then a tablespoon size serving for $21.00... won't be going back!

Greg R.

Yelp
- dinner time - bought shrimp fried rice for the 2/yr old - 2/yr old demands water after each bite - weird - After the 5th big gulp, daddy takes a bite - @&$#!! wooo-mama, that's salty!! *cough* *cough* 2 stars for the saltiest fried rice I have ever taken. Not one star because I can only assume Chef Chin was having a bad day. Giving 3 stars and not 2 because they were kind enough to refund money.

Rose Q.

Yelp
I like their fried rice. They have options like chicken, steak, shrimp, etc. It's very filling for the price.

Alexis M.

Yelp
It's the middle of spring and I took my husband to go shopping for some clothes, decided to stop into legacy hall to grab something to eat. My husband and I decided on some fried rice initially, but I saw their ramen and it look good. We got two different ramens..husband got the Tonkotsu Ramen and I got the Fried chicken ramen, also an order of chicken fried rice. These 3 items cost about $44 bucks, no drinks included in this purchase. Kind of pricy, but well worth it. The fried chicken ramen seems a bit skittish because why put fried chicken in a soup? It was actually amazing!! It's not whole fried chicken strips but little nuggets. I added spice into it my ramen, the broth was amazing and the noodles were really good. My husband's ramen broth was great as well, flavor was on point. The chicken fried rice has honestly been the best tasting rice that I have had in the Dallas area. All in all, I recommend coming here and trying it out. If you like spice, add it ;)

Zara A.

Yelp
Inside of Legacy Hall, got the veggie ramen without seaweed! It wasn't bad but wish it had more veggies. I got the egg in it for an extra $1 but it wasn't even a whole egg, just half. And to make it spicy, it was another $1.The broth was flavorful, but just felt overpriced.

Amanda J.

Yelp
Yummm! I love me some ramen and they had so many interesting and delicious options here! I asked for a recommendation, and unfortunately the employee was unable to give me one. Yelp
Holy cow the Tonkotsu was salty. I got mine spicy, but it was a salt overload. Felt like I was drinking seawater towards the end. But it's still bearable. Not inedible. But dang y'all need to add more water to the broth. It's about $11-12 for a bowl. Edit: they seem to have fixed the saltiness, but I specifically asked for less salt. It's alright for the price I guess.

Berkin P.

Yelp
I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. I am rather disappointed given that this dish was made by a "ramen" shop. A ramen shop is supposed to prepare the ingredients well enough for a long period of time that I cannot replicate it at home in 10 minutes. Broth was not rich. It tasted like chicken broth. The broth needs to be cooked in bones and if so, needs to be cooked longer. Did not contain any yummy flavor whatsoever. Hon tsuyu would wake it up, if anything. I might prefer Shin Ramyun's soup base packets compared to this broth as Shin's soup is yummy and drank easily straight out of the bowl. The chashu was lower than mid. It was chewy, did not melt in my mouth, and could not even be pulled apart. It felt like it was bought from the store and tossed to overcook on the pan. The noodles were not good. Overcooked, mediocre, and as tasteless as plain spaghetti. Not the kind of egg noodles I hoped for that I found elsewhere, but here. The menu states that the ramen comes with an egg. You guys seriously hard hard hard boiled an egg and threw in only 1/2 of it. A whole egg is just 20¢ given the bowl was $14. The good part about this is that my throat had to endure the dryness of the Saharan desert only once. Ramen broth, ramen noodles, and ramen eggs are a Japanese culinary art that should not be botched by this place given its current performance.

L W.

Yelp
Regular MSG-based ramen soup. Portion extremely small for the price. Protein portion incredibly small. Do not recommend.

Erica W.

Yelp
I love Ramen. So when I went to Legacy Hall and saw that they had a new ramen restaurant, of course I went. BAD DECISION. I ordered the shrimp ramen. While the shrimp was tasty and perfectly cooked, the noodles were nasty and the broth was worse and there were no veggies. Just a bowl full of too much broth and regular thick noodles. $13 wasted. Avoid this place and just go to any of the other options around. Everything else in the hall is delicious. This particular place has been open 3 weeks and clearly need to figure some things out.

Jessica C.

Yelp
I went to legacy hall for the first time & gave this restaurant a try! There was more than enough food to even have left overs

Kloe P.

Yelp
Nothing like traditional tonkotsu, honestly would rather eat top ramen than this. The pork was dry and tough, was topped with mushroom and bamboo shoots. It was served with half of a hard boiled egg that was cooked for so long it was green throughout.

Lidia S.

Yelp
Ramen was good! I ordered the grilled steak ramen add spicy, it was delicious and full of flavor. I also ordered the chicken stir fry which was ok nothing special but definitely will stick to the ramen when I come visit again.

Tiam L.

Yelp
Ordered from this location through UberEats. My food arrived kinda warm but not really. I don't blame this place for that, more like the driver themselves. However, my ramen broth was pretty much all over the bag and my other items so this place does get blamed for the poor packaging. Everything about the food was simply okay. I ordered the miso ramen which was okay. The broth wasn't bad but the dish itself was pretty basic. As was the salad I ordered. The spring rolls were good. Ordered the waffle fries for my daughter. She enjoyed them. Lastly, the star of the show was the mango cheesecake. It was very good. The downside was that they are $6 a slice for small slice. And when I say small I mean small. If you're going to charge $6 then give me an adult size and not a toddler size. Overall, I'd recommend going else where for ramen. Semi disappointing considering most of the food spots at Legacy Hall are very good.

Brittany S.

Yelp
Soooooo good! Better than the surrounding Hibachi and locations. Good sized portions. Tried the Chicken Yakisoba, and the tonkatsu Ramen, both full of flavor and didn't need to add any additional soy sauce. Will return!

Taylor S.

Yelp
Amazing fried rice! I haven't tried the ramen here yet, but can't stop ordering their fried rice. The shrimp fried rice is my favorite! I love hibachi and Japanese fried rice. I used to always get it to-go at Benihana but I prefer it from here! I'm not sure how this place has any bad reviews because it's some of the best fried rice I've ever had! I could do without the Shoja ginger they put in it (I always request to take it off) but 10/10

Anokhi D.

Yelp
Got the veggie Ramen & it was delicious! It came with corn, seaweed, bamboo shoots, & mushrooms. The food was prepared fairly quick & was served nice & hot. I love Ramen but hate the post-ramen bloat & I was pleasantly surprised when I did not experience that after eating here :)

Lauren K.

Yelp
This is more a 3.5 than a 3, but the price brought it down some. The food was good - but pretty average though. There was more zucchini in the hibachi fried rice than rice or chicken - but at least it was good zucchini. I don't know if they make it spicy, but mine wasn't at all. (We love our food spicy!) We will try it again, but not right away.

Karli A.

Yelp
The pork tasted rather funky to me and the noodles reminded me of the ones you get in the 45 cent packages in the store. Also bummed the egg wasn't soft boiled but rather well done. The broth tasted good but all in all I'd pass on this ramen again.

Alissa T.

Yelp
I was excited to try out the new vendor at the food hall. Everything on the menu sounded good. I tried the hibachi steak fried rice, with added garlic butter. Honestly thought it lacked flavor, and overpriced for $14. Was still hungry after eating this bowl.

Kennedy F.

Yelp
Love legacy hall so I was excited to try this place. I ordered the fried chicken ramen. It's honestly pretty great. I wish the noodle portion was bigger but I will say the chicken portion was great so it totally made up for it. The overall soup taste was good, didn't have to wait long since they weren't busy. I'd definitely go again!

Laura J.

Yelp
LOVE this ramen place !We got Miso and Grilled shrimp ramen! They were really good, creamy and seasonal well. Will be back here soon!

Lainey R.

Yelp
This is THE best ramen in Plano. They put their ramen together very well and it's always piping hot - even when you order it to go! They are very fast and diligent when making food. Their stir fry can be a little greasy but their main focus in the ramen. Definitely recommend!

Jonathan T.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this ramen place was really not good. I couldn't finish my food. I got the Veggie ramen (spicy) and it tasted like water and pepper. The noodles were also mushy. I also got the fried rice which again was mushy and had an odd fishy flavor. My friend got the shrimp ramen which tasted like it came from a Maruchan package. To the owner: the biggest problem was the preparation of the noodles and the rice.

Sly F.

Yelp
Very good, got the vegetables ramen and spring rolls. Couldn't finish the soup so had some for lunch the next day!

Kelli N.

Yelp
I was so excited to hear that Legacy Hall got a ramen place. Got the Garlic Shrimp ramen (made it spicy) and it was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try more!

Andy L.

Yelp
Habich shrimp fried rice and shrimp yakisoba.. . Tasty@@@@ next time want try ramen too.

Ruby B.

Yelp
Very wrong Decision!! WORST RAMEN PLACE EVER! Ramen looks very cheap and pricey. The cashier was very slow and not familiar about the menu. Very small mango cheesecake taste old and doesn't even taste like mango for $5! Not a good place and waste of money.

K M.

Yelp
Not a great experience. I went to legacy hall, and i really wasn't looking for any oily food, so when i saw this place it was my to go to. I ordered the yakisoba chicken noodles, and i was not impressed. The noodles were a little dry and there was no flavor, only tasted like salt, and the chicken was a little over cooked. Wouldn't give it another chance since i was disappointed, but im pretty sure their other options in the menu that should be better.
