"The white board menu changes daily at this downtown staple, where you’ll find a few deeply flavored soups as well as sandwiches on freshly baked French bread. With options like duck confit with brie, smoked oysters with Provolone, and wild salmon chowder, it can be hard to choose, so plan on a sandwich and a cup of soup." - Janelle Bitker

Best soup and sandwich shop in Sacramento . cafe food, yeah, my preferred treat. Great place to chill, get away, eat some good food. This place has a cool feel to it. One of my top locations for quality Cafe food. super place to meet and chat with coworkers. Great place with consistently excellent sandwiches, soups and salads. The owner is great and his staff is very nice. Amazing food restaurant.

The salmon and prosciutto sandwich was delicious! The French onion soup was good also. I tried the Turkey gumbo my fiance ordered because he wasn't eating as fast as usual. It was ok, nothing to rave about. But I liked the atmosphere of the venue. The sandwich portions are small so you may want to order a side to fill you up. I'd compare it to the size of a costco hotdog, but WAY tastier. I'll definitely be back for that sandwich.

Damn fantastic cream of mushroom soup and some great live music to go with on this rainy day! 😍 Definitely coming back to try the sandwiches and salads!

I've been here on a few occasions and I love the place. The new (not really new anymore but different owners since Chef Daniel) owners are amazing and they make classic French dishes that will not disappoint. I had the Duck Pate and Brie sandwich today with the Blue Crab Bisque. Oh wow it was delicious! My two year old loved the soup! I have also had the French Onion and it is very good as well. Great cafe! I will be going there often!

I had a hard time not giving 5 stars here. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed with the food nor the device. Food is always FANTASTIC. Ingredients are fresh and local, bread is baked in house, soups are phenomenal. There is very limited seating and the line gets long during lunch hours so I recommend coming a little early. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the price. For a soup and sandwich you are looking at about $20. Not that it isn't worth it....I think it totally is... It's just pricey. All in all, I love this place and constantly recommend it for those that can afford it 😉

Friendly staff and service even when busy (and it seems busy all the times I was there) is fast. I can't say how the soups were before 2011 but now they are good to very good. But not the same flair and awesome home made flavor of Munteans (which was a soup adventure every day, so much so that you forgave the pedestrian sandwiches and salads. May it RIP). Sandwiches are G/VG but again there are better out there.
