Food is really good and the happy hour drinks are great value. Nice patio out the front for summer evenings. Service can be slow when busy but that’s pretty understandable!

Friday evening was my first time at Jeff Geoff’s. I was especially impressed by my waitress, Olivia. She has the perfect skill set for customer service! She was attentive, very positive, and knowledgeable about the selections. Would also like to give a shout out for the friendliness of the Front Desk and the person who made sure the water glass was always full! Will definitely return.

Google
What can I say? We rented out the whole restaurant for our wedding reception and it was a slam dunk! We had a tasting before hand that helped solidify our vision and felt like royalty. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. It was important to us to have our reception in a place we loved, that was close by, and that we could return to. Chef Geoff's exceeded our highest hopes! Special shout out to Maria and Amy for their attention to detail and seeing our dream to fruition.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I had a great experience. Our server, Morgan, was attentive and provided excellent food and beverage recommendations. While the chair was a bit uncomfortable and the menu could have had more variety, overall, I really enjoyed my time there.

Google
Everything was Delicious! The service was Amazing! Our server was Kaitlin and she was super nice, very professional, and recommended some amazing food & drinks. Will definitely come back. The environment was very relaxing & elegant. It’s a vibe!

Google
5 stars across the board - food/service/atmosphere. I went with my parents this past weekend and we sat on the patio for brunch. The patio has such a lovely vibe and feels a bit European. The food was delicious - I had the wild mushroom omelette, and we received wonderful service from Chase!

Anne was a great server when we went for a work dinner. She was attentive and knowledgeable of everything on the menu. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great bite to eat. A plus was we went on wine Wednesday where bottles were 50% off, such a great deal!

Google
A review for the catering team at CG New Mexico Avenue -- fantastic! We were celebrating 20 years together as a concert choir and were looking for a great caterer for our bash -- CG hit the spot in every possible way. Friendly, communicative, and professional -- and the food was incredible to boot. Thank you for working with us and our nonprofit budget to make this evening an incredible success!

Yelp
We love the new menu, which still includes old favorites. Olivia is the best! She always makes us feel welcome.

Yelp
the food was excellent and our waitress, Jess, was a pearl: smiling, listening and very efficient. Next time I go, I will definitely ask for her.

Yelp
On Friday June 13th at Chef Geoff's on New Mexico Avenue we had an outstanding server Chase. I hope my other lady friends with whom I ate know how to give Chase an online review so he can get at least three re Jews in one month and get a free meal. Because my lady friends are in their 80s they may not know how to use social media. So Geoff I am asking you personally to give Chase a free meal. Georgia Fuller is a good friend of mine here at Goodwin House and your wife Nora knows Georgia very well. Let's hear it for Chase! Yes!!!!

Yelp
Our first visit on a busy Monday night was memorable solely because of the bartender Erin who exudes hospitality. The all day Monday Happy Hour menu is a treat, but Erin's friendly and attentive service makes it all the better! We returned three weeks later to try something new and yet again, Erin's hospitality and kind demeanor made the visit worth the trip.

Yelp
I dined for brunch and my experience was overall just OK. The food was poorly seasoned and overall just tasted really bad, which is honestly an issue for standard brunch fare. Service was a miss. While it was busy, it's never a good sign when you have to go in and hunt down your server to get your check. The one positive is patio. Seating was great. I thoroughly enjoyed our table and having a cocktail in the nice weather. I would definitely consider giving this place another try, I'm thinking maybe this was just a really off day.

Yelp
After reading all the yelp reviews, my wife and I were excited to try Chef Geoff's West End restaurant as we are in DC for our daughter's graduation. The calamari and Caesar salad were great. The greatness stopped there. The artichoke scallop risotto was just terrible, impossible to actually find and risotto with all the cheese and sauce. I had ordered the fillet mignon with blue cheese, medium rare. It came out cooked well-done half way through from one end and rare on the other end. Not one drop of juice came from the fillet when I cut it. What disappointment after reading all these great reviews I would not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We've been loyal regulars at Chef Geoff's for years and have always enjoyed the outstanding staff. Unfortunately, the new general manager has had a noticeably negative impact on the atmosphere. Her presence at the bar in the evenings is unsettling -- she loiters without offering any support to her team and has even gotten into arguments with customers. It's unprofessional and reflects a serious lack of leadership. Erin remains the heart and soul of this place, and it's clear to anyone paying attention that she keeps things running smoothly. It's a shame that management didn't recognize Kevin's value before losing him -- a completely avoidable situation if competent leadership had been in place. We'll continue to support Chef Geoff's as long as Erin, Chris, and the rest of the strong staff are there. I hope upper management takes a hard look at the current general manager before more damage is done.

Yelp
Just ate here and tried their menu for restaurant week. We had 730 pm reservations, and upon entering, the restaurant was full and the layout is pretty tight. There isn't enough space in between tables, so you are seated in very close proximity with other diners near you. That was the only part of the dining experience that was a bit annoying, but as the night went on, the restaurant cleared out so it was much more spacious. For starters, I had the gumbo and my boyfriend had the sweet and spicy cauliflower. I loved the gumbo! It had good chunks of chicken, sausage, and shrimp and was very flavorful. I also thought the portion size was very filling. And, the cauliflower was also very tasty. It almost reminded me of chicken. I liked the jalepeno and actually added them to my gumbo. For our entrees, my boyfriend and I both had salmon. I had the blackened salmon while my boyfriend had the simple and healthy salmon option with broccoli. Both plates were decently sized and we ended up taking to go boxes. My salmon was cooked well, and I loved the potatoes, bacon, and spinach. I definitely felt full after a few bites. Finally, I had a pear croustade for dessert and that was delightful. It reminded me of a pie, and it had vanilla ice cream on top. I loved that. My boyfriend got the lemon tart to go, so I'll have to report back later but it looked good. The service was good. Our waiter was attentive and observant. He knew when to come by to check in and refill our water or clear away plates. I would definitely come back and just opt to eat a bit later when the restaurant isn't as busy.

Yelp
1 of the Top 10 dining experiences in the USA for sure is Chef Geoff's. This is the perfect combination of 1st of foremost excellent cuisine, not too pretentious of an atmosphere and outstanding service. That is, without being too formal or too expensive Chef Geoff pulls off the trick of great food in a wonderful setting.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Service was top notch! Olivia was so friendly and knowledgeable and efficient. Great experience. We will be back! PS- the dog menu is amazing!

Yelp
Had a delicious brunch with two others and we all loved our food! Favorites were the ham & pimento cheese biscuits, and amazing breakfast sandwich which was large enough to share & was served with a side salad that was also VERY good. We shared a yummy dessert too but I can't remember what it was - maybe a fruit tart.

Yelp
I came in here to grab some snacks with some friends. We got the cauliflower, some sweet potato fries and focaccia bread. We enjoyed all of them. I particularly enjoyed the sweet and hot cauliflower, which was really unique and good. The restaurant itself is quite decent size so it was easy to hear my friends talking. The restroom is a bit far away, outside of the restaurant but it's pretty clean. I suggest this place for any quick snacks!

Yelp
Sadly, I have to say that Chef Geoff's has gone down a little. I used to always recommend Chef Geoff's and bring my family here--so naturally I did just that! I took my grandparents, parents, and boyfriend to Chef Geoff's for a nice birthday dinner. We had raved about the food, wine, etc. However, we were extremely disappointed with the food as a whole. Unfortunately I don't have the pictures of the things that were wrong throughout the night, but I do have a picture of the season spice crusted scallops which were the only good thing we had on the menu... Let's get into the issues here (and yes I realize I did hype this restaurant up recently, but I'm sad to say my review has gone down the dump). To start off, my grandma is vegetarian. The main reason we chose Chef Geoff's was because there were a few good options such as the tofu bowl and veggie burger and cauliflower appetizer. However, when my grandma got the burger, it was clearly not cooked through. It was cold and must've been frozen before cooked because according to her, there were ice particles in the center. I took a bite and yes it was wet, cold, and tasted subpar. As for the watermelon salad, we thought it would be arugula with watermelon chunks. No, it was... watermelon. That's it. A large block of watermelon. My grandfather's salad was soggy and had clearly been sitting out before coming to the table because the lettuce was damp and withered. As I said, the scallop dish was amazing and I always love the chicken Milanese. Although, I did state I didn't want goat cheese on the risotto but obviously it was on the risotto. I didn't send it back mainly because the server was extremely busy and seemed to be running around all over the place. I just picked it off, but I wish I didn't have to. As for service, it was okay, not great, but again, he was super busy and management did take off the burger so I really did appreciate that. I understand restaurants may have some off nights, but it was upsetting that it was on a birthday night and when I had my family visiting. I probably won't go back for awhile, but I hope they can expand the menu and also get back to where it used to be.

Yelp
Came on a Thursday with my colleagues to celebrate a colleague's retirement. We had a reservation, were seated right away, and had excellent service. Our party of 12 was served promptly, orders were accurate; and drinks were refilled before we could ask. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and we all enjoyed our time together. I had the roasted turkey sandwich which seemed perfect for a fall lunch. Don't forget to get your parking validated for a discount. This is a great place for large groups. We had a 5* experience.

Jackie L.

Yelp
Delicious food at reasonable prices. Fresh ingredients well prepared, nicely presented and quickly served. Pleasant ambiance with a low noise level. Excellent service by Jess. Jess was friendly, courteous and efficient. She even reminded us to have our parking validated! A very enjoyable experience on an otherwise dreary day weather wise!

Yelp
Chef Geoff's is the go-to spot for the best martinis in the DMV! Bartenders Erin and Kevin work seamlessly together, blending warmth and professionalism to create a perfect happy hour vibe. I totally recommend their flawless dirty (or filthy!) martini with blue cheese olives, or the espresso martini --both a must-try!

Kyle L.

Yelp
Never wrote review before. Ordered the cheese burger. Medium. Came over done dry and tough. Slab of oversized iceberg on bottom third of which was outside of buns. Should have gotten a McDonald quarter pounder. Feeling ripped off.

Yelp
I went to Chef Geoff's during the week for dinner with a friend. First, we could have spent the whole time at the bar because the happy hour menu is incredible! Super mugs for $10, great deals on food, and happy hour is every day from 3-7. Great deals, especially for in the city! The menu has a bit of everything, which honestly made us nervous. If you'd like ramen while your friend wants fish tacos, and you want to split a bowl of gumbo, this is the place! But the food was pretty good, and the different cuisines we ordered were all solidly made. Nothing was amazing or really exceptional, but it was all good. The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly, but the restaurant had maybe an older feel. We were definitely some of the youngest people there. We had a nice time overall, but I'm not sure that there was anything that would compel me to come back (except for the great happy hour deals).

Yelp
The patio is the star of the show at this Northwest DC mainstay. I came here for brunch and lunch over the past few weeks and had positive experiences each time. I highly recommend eating outside. The patio is breezy and shady, even on the hottest DC days. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. No one rushes you, letting you enjoy every moment of your meal. Although not spectacular, the food is solid and consistent. The menu contains a nice assortment of burgers, salads, and inviting appetizers. The greek salad is my "go-to" staple. My wife had the shawarma quinoa bowl on our last visit and enjoyed it immensely. FYI, it did take awhile for the food to arrive at our table after we ordered. Certainly not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. If you enjoy leisurely meals with friends, Chef Geoff's is a great option if you're near American University.

Yelp
Another trip to Chef Geoff's, another great experience. This time I went with a friend who was in need of good meal and nice cocktail, and of course, quality quiet time with conversation. We were seated in a cozy spot and our waiter, Arcadio, was outstanding. Friendly, efficient and letting us set the pace for a lingering lunch. The food was wonderful, the Fish Tacos were delicious! Thank Arcadio for making it special.

Yelp
Chef Geoff's has my heart. The food, the happy hour specials, the convenient location to American University's campus, the service - it's all great. I have been several times at various hours, and every single time the service has been great. My friends and I used to go after class for happy hours ($10 supermug of beer or cider!) and have cheap bites. When I go for lunch or dinner, I usually get the blackened fish tacos. They are SO good and come with an excellent salsa. Also, the ambiance is nice such that it can be quite intimate in the dining area, but fun and laid back if you're sitting at the bar.

Dolores S.

Yelp
Excellent and friendly service from Jess! Burger Tuesday is awesome! Jess accommodated all our varied requests perfectly.

Yelp
I had a great dining experience here at a private event. I ordered the gazpacho soup, and rigatoni pasta. I wasn't a fan of the gazpacho soup (but I think I just don't like gazpacho) but I loved the pasta. Our dessert was a large cake, donut bites, and brownies served communally at the end. The private dining space was a great size and the servers were very attentive and experienced. There is a great outdoor space with big windows which let in a lot of light. There is also parking available in the back, a major plus. Overall, I would recommend Chef Geoff's for any upscale private event.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Cooper was our waiter and he was very friendly and accommodating. We had two very picky eaters with us and he was very patient! My favorite items are: black bean burger, starter sweet and sour tofu, and the starter fried Brussels sprouts. I also love the simple and healthy tofu, side balsamic greens, side mushrooms, side broccoli. I had the power kale salad and the Andes salad and both were good. the pasta and pizza are pretty good too. I've had the mushroom ravioli and the margarita pizza. I never tried the dessert but hopefully soon :)

Layne H.

Yelp
wonderful food, atmosphere and service! the blackened fish tacos are excellent, and the ricotta donuts are sublime -- thanks, Chef Walter. Dustin (DJ) gave us wonderful service on the terrace. karina made lovely and welcoming visit to our table. must try in the dmv!

Yelp
Chef Geoff's is approaching legendary restaurant status in DC--On the New Mexico Corridor between Georgetown and the American University west of Tenleytown on Nebraska Avenue. There is ample parking and Cheff Geoff's great and varied menu. I especially enjoy his Mediterranean dishes--Mediterranean salad with many additional protein items. The fish, and other dishes from vegetarian to pasta & meats/poultry make this an ideal place for all occasions. The ambiance is modern and appropriate for a date or a casual dinner with friends. The service is always friendly and helpful. I need to go more often even though I live in NYC as I am not only a New Yorker but also a Washingtonian.

Yelp
We arrived at Chef Geoff's in the evening about 7:45 without a reservation. The outdoor dining was full and we were seated in the dining area across from the bar. I ordered a Cherry Zing which is black tea, cherry cayenne cordial, orgeat--I took one sip and I almost breathed out fire. I expected a little spice but it was like liquid habanero. We decided to try the truffled bacon popcorn which did not come until we were almost finished with our entrees. There's quite a varied and eclectic menu. I ordered the black bean and pecan burger with a gluten-free bun. My companions selected the blackened salmon, gumbo and a salad. My burger was ok but it didn't hold together and crumbled apart. The sweet potato fries were excellent, nicely crispy and sweet. The blackened salmon was nicely prepared and the accompanying spinach and pickled Pearl onions in a mustard glaze was very tasty. Our server offered to validate our parking which was strange because as we drove out of the garage there wasn't even a gate at which to pay, we simply drove straight out.

Michael G.

Yelp
Shae was a wonderful waitress. She was professional and very attentive! She is a great representative for the restaurant! Michael and Elizabeth

Lisa G.

Yelp
Impressed with not only the quality of food but the perfect cadence of service and warmth. Jess, our server, was on top of everything, engaged appropriately and ensured lunch was an added attribute to time with a close friend I had not seen for months.

Yelp
Love this place. Great happy hour menu. Very elegant ambiance. Friendly service. I go all the time and will continue to do so!
google avatar

Yuliya Z.

Yelp
Love this place. The Apple cider donuts are the best. Good food and nice bar. Mishelle is a great waitress

Hetaher B.

Yelp
I ordered food to go. The Cadillac Caesar which I have enjoyed for years was about half the size. When I opened the salad container I found all of two corn bread croutons included. They are still sending two containers of dressing which once was needed. It's so small now there is no need for two. Not worth the money now.

Jay C.

Yelp
Our food was good - especially the Jambalaya. And the service from Jess was excellent. Jess was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Sat out on the patio for an early dinner. between the ambience, the high quality service (thanks Olivia), and the delicious food. I plan to be back!

Yelp
This gluten-free and lactose-free option is fantastic--absolutely loved every bite of it!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Wonderful family dinner, as usual. We sat on the patio with our 3 kids and dog. Olivia was amazing as our server. She was patient and cool with the kids and made great recommendations which made our experience excellent. Always a pleasure

Yelp
After my grandmother's funeral, my family enjoyed a delicious brunch at Chef Geoff's. It had been a difficult morning and I miscounted when I made reservations but our hostess quickly rearranged our seating area and easily accommodated our additional guests. Cooper was our server and his attentiveness and suggestions were greatly appreciated. At one point I dropped my utensils and before I knew it someone was by my side to quickly replace them. Can't thank everyone enough for the wonderful experience!

Yelp
We went for restaurant week which I understand would have limited options. With that said, the house rose was decent and modestly priced (we purchased additional glasses a la carte). I ordered the rigatoni and my husband had the salmon from the healthy options. The rigatoni with the creamy vodka sauce was good and the burrata it came with made it even better. I like spicy food so a healthy dash of crushed red pepper topped it off. My husband's salmon was grilled and served with a side of tzatziki sauce and broccoli. I had a taste of the salmon and I'd order it for myself next time. We skipped ordering a dessert as part of the RW menu, instead requested an additional round of wine. Overall a pleasant experience. Nothing that blew my socks off but the service was good. The patio seating had a decent crowd and the inside dining room was a little over half filled. I would recommend this place to any friend who's looking for a casual fare.

Sofie L.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was amazing! The ambiance was also great it is in a beautiful location. My server was DJ. Thank you!

Yelp
Chef Geoff's on New Mexico offers delicious food in a lovely setting and the staff is top notch. Dinner last night on the terrace could not have been better. Our server Erin was awesome - friendly, professional and attentive to everything we needed. Erin helped to make our dining experience stand out and be a memorable one.

Yelp
Chef Geoff's kids menu is fantastic. The portions are great, and the food is really tasty. We've tried both the steak and the burger, and they were both delivered quickly and still hot. It's a perfect spot for a family meal!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! We came for restaurant week brunch. It was $35 and we could pick three courses from the menu. It was a fantastic deal. Everything was amazing. I'm usually good at taking photos but everything was so good I couldn't wait to dig in. The chocolate cookie and chocolate mousse desserts were fantastic. The cheddar biscuits and the donuts. Everything. Our service was great and the decorations are beautiful in there.

Jaime H.

Yelp
Stopped in randomly for the first time tonight on a recommendation. Food was solid. Vibe was good. Decent happy hour prices, esp for DC. What made this a hard 5 out of 5 was the bartender, Erin. Exemplary service! She was clearly busy working the bar and the tables in the bar area, and never seemed to break a sweat. She worked the room with a smile and happy to see you energy, never letting anyone sit long without a check in. Regulars came in knowing her name, Obv. I hope the venue owners know that supporting THIS kind of staff is where it's at because this level of service is what makes a restaurant/bar a place you want to return to....and take the time to write a nice review about :)
google avatar

Yelp
This was my first time dining at Chef Geoff's, on New Mexico Ave. The Restaurant Week options were awesome. The full lunch menu (with many interesting dishes) was available for the 3-course lunch. I chose fried calamari, Madras curry chicken and apple cider donuts. Each was delicious!!! Enough so that I look forward to returning to enjoy these again and to try other dishes. I was part of a group of 11. Our waitress, Caitlin, handled us efficiently and pleasantly. Well played!!

Christian C.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Our waitresses Olivia was so sweet and amazing! Everything we had ordered was divine, no dish was a disappoint. We went on Memorial Day and the weather was AMAZING so sitting outdoor on the patio was a must! Loved that they had a separate dog menu just for the pups! 10/10 would recommend
google avatar

Hillary S.

Yelp
Cute little place! Great Cadillac Caesar salad! My husband and daughter loved their smash burgers, too!
google avatar

Serena S.

Yelp
Been here for happy hour a few times. They have good happy hour items, but I'd say usually 50% of our food/drink are actually tasty. One time I got a cocktail that was so clearly rancid. Not sure if they used rancid pineapple juice or what, but it tasted like cleaning spray.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a great Restaurant Week meal on 2/5/2025. Appetizer, entree, and dessert for $40! You get to choose options in all 3 categories from almost the entire Chef Geoff's menu and a can order a glass of wine as an appetizer or dessert! Our server Olivia was superb. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Checked back with our table frequently throughout the meal to ask if we needed anything. Promptly brought the check when we asked. Overall, a terrific value and nice evening out with friends.

Ellie M.

Yelp
Rigatoni alla Vodka with the burrata was amazing! Not only that but great service from Mishelle!
