Chef Geoff's West End

Good food; we had the classic burger, beans burger, quesadilla, and salad. We ordered a cocktail each and the drinks were okay but not great. They ran out of berries, the main ingredient for one of the cocktails but instead of letting us know they just made the cocktails without it 🤔 The lady host on the day was very unfriendly and was on her phone when we needed to talk to someone about the table, she brushed it off and said to wait for the waitress to deal with it. Overall an okay place to get a quick food.

Overall Rating: 4.50. Great location in West End DC located in the Marriott hotel. Big bar, patio and inside dining areas. Decor tasteful and trendy. Lots of variety of menus items—all savory, freshly prepared, and scrumptious. Exceptional, responsive and friendly service. Brussels sprouts, spicy cauliflower, guacamole 🥑 & focaccia bread appetizers are so tasty. Chicken parmigiana, black bean burger 🍔 and lobster 🦞 roll are delicious. You won’t be disappointed—Chef Geoff’s is one of my new favorites.

One of the best places to eat in DC, with delicious food and a nice atmosphere. However, we waited over 30 minutes for our food, which was a downside. The portion sizes were generous and absolutely delicious. We had our morning breakfast on the last day of our tour in DC and we enjoyed it a lot.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking down the street in Washington DC and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience getting dinner here! The atmosphere and food were both phenomenal. I got the CG Singapore Shrimp and it was so unique and delicious—it had a combination of foods I had never seen before but worked surprisingly well. The brussels sprouts, which I don’t even usually like that much, were amazing too. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere and very attentive staff. The food is mediocre at best. Eggs were bland, burger was cooked as ordered but the bun probably saw its last useful day on Tuesday or Wednesday ; today is Saturday. And check your bill for a 5% I-82 pass through fee. Sorry, but as a small business owner, that’s a cost you just need to absorb.

Great food and service. Very lively with lots of very loud people from around the world, all screamming at each other in good conversation. If you want to talk, choose a sit-down table in the corner between 2 and 4 pm.

Nando is the bestest server ever, he made sure to check in with us often, educated us on the menu, was super charismatic and friendly. Genuinely seems like he enjoys what he does, and it definitely reflects that. Please give this man a generous raise, a worker like that is one you NEVER want to take for granted. PLEASE show your appreciation for this employee, in ways that it matters; ei monetary value. Thank you again Nando for this experience <3

the food was delicious but even beyond food, the service made it completely memorable. our lovely waitress, annie, went out of her way to not only be hospitable but to show an abundance of kindness. annie was completely smitten with our 4 year old son and showed that in every interaction! she was outstanding. my birthday was on july 2nd and she made it so special for me by providing a delicious dessert; also my fiancée and i got engaged the following day and annie went out of her way to make it so special for us as well. overall the restaurant is great but annie upgraded it to wonderful! annie, if you see this, THANK YOU!! your kindness will get you so incredibly far in life. thank you for making this stay even more beautiful! :)

During our DC stay we ate two different times at Chef Geoff's. First time we had hamburgers and sweet potato fries that were outstanding. Burgers were cooked how we ordered. We sat outside as it was a nice evening. The second trip we shared a Soko pizza and sat inside. It was a mixed meat pizza that was more than enough for each of us. Our waiter was Alexis and he was very attentive even though he was assigned to a large group that came in after we had ordered. We did not feel that we were ignored as he checked back with us multiple times. We will definitely visit again when we come back to town!

My husband and I had dinner in 6/12, which happed do be Wine Wednesday. This is half off bottles of wine. My husband ordered the fish tacos and absolutely loved them. The cobia was cooked to perfection! I ordered the pizza and they were very willing to customize. Carlos, our server was attentive and helped to make our dining experience exceptional. The ambiance was delightful and we give Chef Geoff's a 5 star rating!

My wife came up with Chef Geoff's even though she would not be able to join us. Feeling under the weather our instructions were to go have an enjoyable meal and bring back food for her to our hotel room. This was our last night in DC. She chose well. A Lyft ride later and we found ourselves walking in without a reservation. Fortunately for us we got right in and started checking out the wide-ranging menu. My granddaughter went pizza. I went with pasta, their Cajun Bucatini with shrimp added. I quickly looked up what bucatini was and learned it was like a thick spaghetti noodle but hollow. I really liked it, it wasn't dense or heavy at all and worked very well with all the tomato cream based sauce of the dish. The very flavorful delicious sauce. The large shrimp made the dish even better. I definitely picked the right dish. Service was seamless from start to finish. The food including the pizza was ready in about 20 minutes and as soon as we finished eating the takeout food for my wife arrived. Smiles all around for our enjoyable meal.

I want to preface this review by stating that, although both the regular menus and happy hour menu looked intriguing, my companions and I only had drinks, but I wish we'd had more time and appetite for a late lunch or early dinner. A couple of friends and I found ourselves in the area with time to kill before an appointment and felt like treating ourselves to a cocktail when we saw this place, so we stopped in for a brief visit. It was quiet, and the service was fast and professional. The bartender, Abe, was kind enough to show me all three menus: Happy Hour, Lunch, and Dinner. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, and I have only two complaints that would account for my four-star rating. First, some very loud sounds of banging and moving furniture came from the adjacent (currently empty) dining room. It was sudden and intermittent and detracted from our enjoyment. I don't know why something so disruptive wasn't done during non-business hours. The second issue I had was with the sneaky practice of adding a 5% fee to the check. Those of us from DC know about this recent practice, and an informed diner also knows that this fee isn't mandatory, despite what the receipt says. It IS mandatory for the business but NOT for the diner. My issue is that there's an increasing number of unscrupulous restaurant managers (certainly not the server's fault) who choose to pass what should be a regular cost of business along to the customer. I note which establishments do this and try to avoid them as much as possible. For example, not a single Jose Andras restaurant has done this so far. I enjoy several other restaurants (Carmine's, Clyde's, and Makers Union come to mind) that also do not participate in this culinary financial assault on my wallet. To be fair, the receipt says, "Please adjust your tip accordingly," so I did. I'll let you determine which direction I went.

In the beginning, we only came here because of the $12 burger deal. When we arrived, the hostess told us we could get the burger deal regardless. Upon seating, we were told that the burger deal is only applicable when at the bar. This was because the hostess was on her first week. Alternatively, we had the choice to switch to a high chair table which was soon found to be unavailable. Kindly, our waitress personally asked the manager and thankfully, they made an exception. We then ordered the burgers and they do not dissappoint. Just make sure you come hungry and with a full wallet. Would definitely return again.

This location is pretty good, corner of 22nd and M St. There is parking in a public lot on 22nd and limited street parking on M Street and 23rd. We got a reservation because we had an 8:00 at the Kennedy center. For two I would recommend this. The larger tables fill up later but it was a Tuesday and, with a mix of 20-something's and young families, the front section filled quickly. We tried the deviled eggs - TO DIEEEE FOR. So good. My only complaint is that there were only three. That's a tease, not an appetizer! Clearly it's intended as a starter for one!!!! It's impeccably seasoned and served on a bed of seasoned avocado puree. Can't call it guacamole really because no onion, cilantro or jalapeño, but it truly elevated the dish and I've never had avocado and deviled eggs so YUM. 12/10 Also, hubby went with the Hong Kong bowl. So delicious. Amazing! The tofu was well seasoned, there wasn't too much sauce nor too little and the crispy sprouts set it off perfectly texture wise. 10/10 I tried the Blackberry Bliss and it wasn't for the occasional drinker. At all. I was toasted in half a glass. Didn't last long but it also tasted pretty unassuming, quite delicious!! 10/10 But the blackening left MUCH to be desired. I ordered the blackened salmon and it tasted like it was seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked on a a George Foreman grill. Fail. And precious little salt. Blackening isn't just a coloring it's a seasoning and people should chill with using the term if they don't understand it. The house salad was okay. The honey mustard wasn't awful, but the salmon was bland, and not because it was medium. It was fresh and an excellent fish, but so, so bland. I was disappointed to say the least. Overall solid 8/10 for dining and service. I would definitely try it again if in the neighborhood, but avoid anything labeled "blackened"

Arrived into Washington DC and checked in to our Hotel .... Was too hungry after our long flight. We were so please to get a table before our reservation time. Excellent service by Carlos and order the chef specials that he recommended. The lobster mac and cheese - delicious. Hot, cheesy and lots of lobster. Yummy crab cakes ( it was an entree) with fingerling potatoes and vegetables hash. Carlos had the kitchen split out NY Steak, so we could share everything. Everything was cooked to perfection. Friendly staff , excellent food and nice clean restaurant not stuff.

After loving this place for brunch, decided to try it for dinner. Great service. Excellent Paloma special. Good calamari and excellent mushroom soup. Caesar salad was rather pedestrian steak with it so-so. Fish tacos were amazing! They have music playing fairly loud.

This is one of our go-to places when visiting the elderly in-laws. Super convenient location-wise, and their menu, which rotates seasonally, offers some delicious vegan and gluten-free options. The servers are super friendly and helpful and lots of tables. We always make reservations because it gets very crowded. The dining room is a little cramped but I think we only feel that way because of our large party size and the 2 walkers we had with us. Bathroom isn't convenient so be prepared for a hike.

So the people I have met while in DC rave about this place. So carne to check it out. My hotel is next door anyway. It says outside 12 burgers on Tuesdays if you are in the rewards club. Issue is, they won't tell you how to sign up. I had to do some research to figure it out, but I did it. Ordered wings and they came quickly. I must say the wings are good. Had a great spice to them. Waiter must be busy as he does not check if you need anything often. Ordered the cheese burger with bacon. When it showed up it has one piece of bacon. Bummer on that, but it smells so good like a bbq burger. Comes with fries and a pickle skewer. There is a sauce and I like it, don't know what is in it but it is green. I put it on the burger and wow. Burger is Juicy and had onions and tomato. Fries are cooked well and I can say the food is good here. Wish staff was friendly and helpful.

Best meal we had in Washington DC. We came here with a large group and they were incredibly accommodating. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, can't wait to come back.

After walking 7.5 miles around DC we were ready to eat. Thankfully Chef Geoff's was close by to our hotel and we were seated immediately. The service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Those helping her were also on it bringing refills and cleaning used dishes from the table. The guacamole is delicious! (The peppers in it are hot -- fyi) The chips that came with it were perfectly salted and crispy. Great appetizer. It was a burger special day so that was ordered and they were cooked well and tasted fresh. The fries were crispy and hot. The Parmesan fries weren't a favorite but if you like Caesar dressing and Parmesan cheese you may like them. Our favorite though was the guacamole. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. The decor is modern and warm. A nice place to have lunch after a long walk.

Great first visit to Chef Geoff's! We enjoyed a beautiful evening outside, so would recommend that you give it a shot on a nice day when it's not too hot/cold outside. Overall, plenty of options for food and drinks. One of our guests was vegetarian, so there's a variety of choices based on your diet preferences. Favorites were the cauliflower ($13) and blackened salmon ($29). Would order both again on a future visit or stay in DC.

This review is specifically geared toward restaurant week! Service: so wonderful - our server was kind, attentive, funny - we loved him! Ambiance: a very cute restaurant, in a wonderful area. Parking may be hard, but not to be unexpected in this area. Food: delicious, well-presented, fresh, and soooo budget friendly during restaurant week!! Highly recommend.

Ohhh my, the Campari w/ Prosecco matched nicely with Carlos who was perfecto! Who doesn't love a friendly guy from Queens giving you advice on puzza? Go for the nice folks and solid drinks in the Georgetown-West End neighborhood.

I had a nice time catching up with old friends in the DC area over brunch. The kale salad was great as was the mangotini. My daughter had the Belgian waffle and enjoyed it. My friends had the burger, house salad and side of grits.

We had Saturday dinner in this place, surprisingly it's easy to get reservations, and we were seated pretty fast. Ambiance was great, good lighting and not too noisy. Food came pretty fast too. We had calamari which was very good and crispy, and soft focaccia. We had grilled trout, salads and burrata. All came fast and good! Carlos our waiter was attentive and super friendly! He's fast and also accommodating for substitute because I could not eat any corn. I recommend this place for food and ambiance!

Not a better place. The service of Abe and Kev is perfect, make sure you ask! Food is top notch - breakfast omelets are #1- lunch and dinner flawless. Can't make a higher recommendation. Ambiance is cool and laid back with professionalism.

Carlos was our server he was knowledgeable about food and drinks. The Hummus as an appetizer highly recommend light and tasty on a warm summer day. Hard Rock Cider was crisp and refreshing . Definitely would recommend

The staff is very patient with families with small children. Our family was given an area to ourselves and away from the bar. The space is located on the lobby floor adjacent to the hotel but that is common for most restaurants in this area. There is kids menus which is definitely a big plus in my book. The kids get to order something that they will actually eat and I can have a nice meal as well. There is a full bar and wine menu so don't be shy parents! You need your mommy and daddy juice to get through the meal. The bathrooms are in the hotel therefore you need to exit the main restaurant and head into the hotel lobby and down the stairs to find the bathrooms. The bathrooms are clean but it is a bit of a pain to get up and down the stairs with small kids. I ordered the salmon which was nicely cooked but just nice - nothing amazing or something that I would recommend. Again this isn't the place or time for "romantic dining or chef menu" It is a kid friendly restaurant that doesn't bat an eye when you spill an entire cup of chocolate milk - lol they just charge you a cleaning fee ! But what are you going to do?! It is ... what it is

Fast and friendly service, but the most flavorless and rubbery chicken parmesan I've ever had in my life sadly. Seemed popular with white tourists looking to feed their kids burgers and pizza.

Took 3 business associates for dinner tonight and it was very disappointing. Food was mediocre at best, service was very slow and poor, and the ambiance was loud. Expected much better Will not go back and would not recommend ....

Ok let's discuss Chef Geoff's! I had such high hopes because my husband went for happy hour and came home and raved about it. This is key because he doesn't rave about anything lol. I had the chance to grab dinner with a girlfriend the other night and we decided to go to Chef Geoff since it was local and we were already in the area. The food was pretty good! I had the Tuscan Brussels which was a special and the Bacon Cajun Bucatini which was also a special! I absolutely DESPISE Parmesan cheese! I'm probably the only person in america who feels this way but it's the truth. So I asked for no Parmesan on the Brussels. Sure enough they come out loaded with Parmesan! So that was issue #1! Issue #2 is my martini came out with my pasta meal and not before my app! After a crazy day, I was craving my cosmo martini so to have to wait so long was slightly disappointing. However, with all that being said, the food was delicious!! The pasta sauce was very creative and full of Cajun flavors without being overwhelming! I would definitely give it another try because I really believe this was more of a one off than any thing!

I'm not going to beat around the bush, I would not recommend Chef Geoff's the west end location to my worst enemy. Take a look at the Saddd excuse of a margarita, pizza, and you can just imagine what the other food is like. Looking at this pizza is a jump scare. The salmon burger you can skip the regular burger. You can also skip skip the pizza while you're at it. You might be OK ordering the salad... that could be an item one could eat at this restaurant. I'm going to assume the management at this restaurant needs to be replaced because the service is really slow. The whole place kind of just seems disorganized and you can get better food at Applebee's. The interior of the restaurant feels dated and behind the times. Save yourself, your stomach and your wallet. Some stress go eat somewhere else. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I won't lie... this place needs serious attention.

Let me start with the service. Annie was our server, and she was one of the best we have ever had. Annie knows her menu,she makes you feel welcome she made dining a Tru delight. The food was amazing it was better than some fine dining restaurants. What a way to start off our DC vacation. If you visit DC, you must stop by. The ambiance was upbeat and fun in a very nice atmosphere.

Definitely a lower standard than I expect from a restaurant with such a high rating. "Just one?" I was greeted as the host sneered. He then proceeded to seat me in the corner of the restaurant completely by myself. Gee, thanks, Mr Passive Aggressive host. I saw the server three times. Greeting after I had been seated about 10 minutes, ordering my food, and when I indicated I wanted my check - couldn't even bring that over himself. Apparently I am not worthy enough of my servers attention. The people next to me sat and waited to order for over 15 minutes. I'm a former server and I couldn't even bully myself into leaving 20% the service was that non-existent. The food was relatively good. They were out of Sangria. How are you out of your seasonal, specialty wine at 7 pm on a Thursday? But the worst, and the reason I docked a full star from a mediocre experience was the restaurants lack of temperature control. If I want to eat in restaurants that don't have air conditioning and roast you at 95 degrees, I go to London, not DC. Not sure if the restaurant, server, and host were having an off night, but definitely not the overall rating that exists on Yelp. Food is worth your time. Service needs a polish. Air conditioning needs to be fixed asap. Proceed with Caution.

Phenomenal food and service! I got the Asian cashew salad which was delicious and had them put fish on it- just so delicious and such a generous portion. My colleague got the pizza and said it was also delicious. We sat outside and that was really nice too- will def be back next time I'm in DC

Brunch me any day! Our party of 8 was seated very smoothly outside. Seated under 2 umbrellas to shield us from the sun. The food didn't come out as quickly as I thought however , we chatted and people watched and it made the time go by much faster. Food was delicious! Drinks were amazing! Powdered doughnuts with raspberry dipping was sooo Good! We had plentiful portions and no one left hungry!

The food here is always delicious (bacon mashed potatoes get the highest marks)! And Maggie was a great server and very attentive.

Spacious and has outdoor seating. We stopped here for dinner upon arriving in DC. We made a quick reservation prior, seated right away when we got there. Kid friendly, which is helpful since we were traveling with children. Carlos took awesome care of us and was playful in interactions with my kids. The kids menus was good, both of mine got the pizza and had no complaints. Husband enjoyed one of the specials (Rainbow trout). I was feeling a girl dinner and had the house salad and some fries. Full bar. To get the the restroom, you have to exit the restaurant into the hotel lobby and head downstairs. It was easy to find though.

Easily made a dinner reservation through OpenTable, though we had to wait a bit in line to check in. Ambiance feels like a fancy sports bar. We ordered the sweet and spicy cauliflower to start - a little too saucy for my liking and my bf commented that it would have been better if the jalapeños had been cooked with the dish instead of raw on the side. Entrees came out quickly. My bf had the lobster roll and fries from the special menu (good, but nothing special) and I got the poke bowl and a side of wild mushrooms. The bowl ingredients did not seem super fresh but I was a huge fan of the mushrooms - I even had some leftover to take home. Service was ok. It was a busy night so our server was pulled in many different directions. Chef Geoff's seems like a popular place and I would give it another chance on my next visit.

I came to Chef Geoff's today for breakfast before a day of meetings. The calm background music played well with the natural lighting from the large windows. I was seated right away and offered a selection of teas (I love a tea box!). I ordered the Classic Scramble, which came out in only a few minutes. There was a nice jam on the side, and they were able to substitute turkey bacon instead of pork sausage. The server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which is perfect. Compared to many similar style restaurants nearby, Chef Geoff's was a great value! I'll definitely keep it in mind for future power breakfasts.

Lovely place with delicious dishes, attentive staff and yummy sangria. Noticed the chef sporting a 49ers cap. Winning!

2 things made my lunch memorable. One of the best Caesar salads I've eaten and the hospitality of Natnael. I'm in DC for one more day and will be back.

Food and Service was Top Tier!! Carlos is the absolute best. He was very attentive and knowledgeable of menu options. The shrimp pasta he recommended was the best I've ever had. Simply amazing experience!!

The food was delightful, but the service left something to be desired, displaying quite a bit of inexperience. The bar seemed more adept at crafting drinks from their menu, struggling with classics like the Old Fashioned or French 75 -- as in they didn't know how to make it. Despite this, our overall dining experience was still enjoyable, complemented by a bottle of wine. 3-star rating for the food with room for improvement.

Had a wonderful evening with my family. Wife with two daughters had a wonderful meal with excellent service. Really appreciate the multitasking of your staff and ability to be at their best without overdoing it. We tried the tortilla soup which was excellent on a rainy spring evening and the homemade pasta was a hit. Thank you.

Vibe: Reminiscent of your suburban breakfast diner but a touch more urban. Dress: More casual than other downtown DC spots I've been to. Jeans , or nice shorts, not pajamas. Bathroom: a bit hard to get to, tucked away and seemingly in a separate building? Food: So friggen good. Every dish we got was phenomenal. I'd honestly go back and just get four of the starter dishes. Service: Was alright, had to ask for water and coffee refills.

My cousin and I flew in from Los Angeles and after checking in at our hotel, we were hungry and found this restaurant within walking distance. Our server was Carlos and he provided great recommendations, such as the Brussels sprouts and blackened salmon which were both delicious. He was super nice and answered all our questions and checked in with us a couple times. Thanks Carlos for making our first meal in D.C. a good one!

Seated right away on a Saturday night without a reservation. Tables seem pretty tightly packed especially considering the size of the place. Food is pretty good here. The calamari came out crispy, not too oily; the portion was kinda small though; good for two people. The crispy Brussels sprouts were tasty with the cheese on top, but could have used more cheese. The kids pizza is very large; might even be tough for an average sized adult to finish. The dough on the pizza is excellent. Fries are super crispy and delicious. Lobster roll is fresh, potatoes roll is nicely toasted and buttery.

We had the gnocchi and pizza. Gnocchi was great and pizza was ok. Service was pretty good and the ambiance was semi-casual-- good to come with co-workers, friends, and family.

We came for my birthday brunch we were a party of 10. Our server was Maddie she was very nice and attentive but I was disappointed in the kitchen. They didn't send out the correct orders a few times. Thankfully, the manager understood our complaint and decided not to charge us for the wrong orders. I also didn't receive my Georgia peach mocktail so we made sure that was removed from the list of items we were charged for. I had the Chesapeake Benedict which was delicious. Some of the people in my party complained their burgers were dry and didn't have any sauce on them. Not sure if I'll be back due to my disappointment in the kitchen with the mistaken orders.

Food was good. Enjoyed the burger and I believe it was called the loco pizza. Ambiance is nice and location is convenient. Service was sub par however. Our server might have been new because simple questions couldn't be answered and simple mistakes were made. She couldn't speak to the beers on the menu, brought the wrong fries when the burger arrived and brought and charged us for a drink we didn't order. As former servers in college, my wife and I do our best to extend grace, but this server wasn't polished at all and needs to be retrained.

Sunday brunch at 12:30. This restaurant is on the corner so has lots of windows giving it an open airy feeing. We were immediately seated and Rupert took very good care of us - especially being patient while we talked and didn't look at the menu! I had a bacon Bloody Mary - with a real whole strip of bacon - and wife had an apple cinnamon sangria. Both were delicious. Then she had the shrimp and grits and I had the roasted salmon medium rare. Both dishes were expertly prepared and plated. Make this a must visit stop whether or not you stay in the West End and you won't be disappointed! Cheers.

Conveniently located at the intersection of 22nd and M st in D.C is Chef Geoff's West End Restaurant. You can Valet your car with the hotel that is adjacent to the restaurant but at a cost. Parking is always a challenge so Valet or find a lot near by. We started with Mocktails. Yum! Yes for supporting fancy juices. For our appetizer we had calamari and wings! Both amazing. For Entree's we had Filet Mignon, Cesar Salad with Salmon and Curry Chicken. The Entrees were okay but could have used more seasoning on all dishes. Desert: Apple Crumble was absolutely delicious. Overall a great spot to have dinner. Would return.
