Chef Istanbul

I ordered the mixed BBQ platter with beef and chicken kebabs, which came with bread and a selection of salads. Normally, I worry that kebabs like these can turn out dry, but both the beef and chicken were juicy and well-cooked. The beef was tender and not chewy, which was a plus. That said, while the meal was decent, I felt it could have used a bit more seasoning, the flavors were solid but lacked that extra punch to make it truly memorable. Overall, it’s a good meal, but not necessarily a must-try when there are many other places offering similar cuisine. Service was quick and place is decently clean.

⭐ Update: Chef Istanbul is temporarily closed due to an electrical problem. I completely understand that issues like this can happen, but it would be really helpful if the restaurant could share at least a time frame for reopening. This place has always been one of our favorite spots in downtown, and we truly look forward to dining here again once it’s back. For now, I also hope the owner updates the opening hours on Google Maps, since the restaurant is closed with no clear reopening date. Updating this would save people time and avoid confusion.

Lamb kebab, bulgar, salad and some tasty bread, cant complain. Also got some complimentary tea, which was excellant 🍵

An incredibly nice restaurant with fast and great service 🎉🎉 I had the lamb platter while my partner had the chicken BBQ platter and we loved each bite ❤️❤️ Cannot wait to come back and try other items on the menu 😇😇

They served me a free traditional lentil soup after my hard working day for completely free without even asking them. The man at the cashier is very kind, one time it was almost going to close and one of their cooks gave me his own dinner kebab because he couldn’t cook anymore. This is really an amazing place to eat in the meat is delicious 10/10

Chef Istanbul is located at downtown Montreal and right next to Concordia University. This place is accessible easily through public transport by metro and bus. The food here is delicious - they have a good amount of variety in their menu and all the items we tried were well cooked and tasty. They bake their own bread which is super soft and goes amazing with the lentil soup. The meat and the kabab were tender. The staff are friendly and service is quick. Although this place is self service. Seating is plenty.

10/10 recommend. You can tell the owner cares about providing great service and great food. Very attentive and food was fresh and tasted amazing. Prices are more than reasonable and bread is homemade and tastes incredible and I usually avoid bread. Definitely check it out!

Not sure if they are the same owners as antep kebab but it’s the same concept. They bake their own bread in house. Their chicken is so tender and juicy. Perfect lunch spot if you’re in the city. It can take a little longer than average to get your food but it’s so worth it cause they do everything in house.

Yes this is ac the best thing I've ever had. They guy was kind and I also got it yesterday. But yesterday I had a falafel pita, also so so good. Guys rn the university is having an emergency alarm but I decided this was more important instead of leaving the area. 7 dollars for soup and pita
