"A spacious tapas and wine bar right by eight-acre Washington Park, Zula Bistro is double the size of many Over-the-Rhine eateries, making it (a little) easier to snag a table. That doesn’t mean sacrificing on quality though, and chef-owner Tsvika “Vik” Silberberg makes sure of that. Cold plates, hot plates or crudo, there’s something for everyone here, including nine riffs on steamed mussels." - Empower

~3.5 stars rounded to 4~ I honestly enjoyed my time here, I just thought it would wow me a little more considering the restaurant’s celebrity chef origins and outstanding reviews. Maybe we didn’t order the right things? THE GOOD STUFF The service and ambience of the restaurant was great! Our server was very nice and despite sitting outside, we never felt like we were forgotten about. The restaurant was super open, with lots of light, and nice, clean bathrooms. THE FOOD Our table got the fish n’ chips and a cavatelli dish. Upon first bite the fish n’ chips was incredibly crispy yet juicy and soft at the same time. However, I felt that the actual flavors of the dish were lacking. It was still pretty delicious, but after the first couple bites, the textures and flavors get pretty monotonous. Dipping it in the sauces didn’t really help either. My friend wasn’t a huge fan of the cavatelli either. Before ordering we were also interested in one of the burgers, but a burger that doesn’t automatically come with fries feels illegal.

We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday and put our name in for a 30 min wait. Our table was ready before that in ~20 min. Atmosphere was fine. We were seated right by the service window. I understand the staff were probably tired after a brunch rush, but it really felt like we were the last burden to them before the dinner break. Why even seat us? The food was OK. They’d run out of tomatoes (?) and iced tea. My husband enjoyed his burger (despite aforementioned tomato absence). My fried bologna was thick cut and the potato bun had to fight for its life against it. French fries are crinkle cut…so do with that what you will. At the end, the tip receipt asked for a kitchen tip which always feels maddening. Our friends really hyped this place up to us. Maybe it was our timing, but I left feeling annoyed.

Chef Salazar has successfully created a tasty brunch nook in Findley Market. Come for the food, not the atmosphere. The Monte Cristo made on delectable French toast, not too sweet with just the right amount of jam. The Carlos (formerly goetta hash) with goetta was savory with just a hint of smoky yum. Both the blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes were also delicious. We added a side of bacon-crispy and charred on the edges! The breakfast sandwich, not pictured could do better on presentation but the taste recovered the blah plating. The Espresso Martini was the perfect drink to round out our sweet and savory abundant breakfast. The bill was under $90 with tip, for 4 of us with shared dishes of bacon and the Carlos. The restaurant itself is a little boring, the coo-coo clock wall lacks creativity, the chairs & tables are reminiscent of grandmas kitchen, slightly uncomfortable and no place for a purse. But the fact it is on the corner of Findley Market and the food is great makes up for the lack of creative atmosphere. Hopefully they splash some paint on the walls or work up the decor to deepen the homey and comfortable feel they are attempting.

Our party of two was seated quickly around noon. The service was great and the food overall was pretty good, although a bit expensive. The French fries were missing something but the sandwiches were delicious. I would recommend skipping the fries. The location is excellent right by Findley Market.

Me and my wife stopped here for breakfast during the week based off recommendations. We were not disappointed! Located right across from Findley Market, there are decent parking options across the street, and Findley Market is a great backdrop to this awesome restaurant. The restaurant itself is very clean, although the bathrooms are down two flights of stairs so you will have to work a little bit to get there, haha. Staff was friendly (Thanks, Max!) , attentive and helped us with any questions. The food was fantastic - An order of pancakes and sausage for my wife; the breakfast sandwich and a side of potatoes for myself. Me and my wife tried 5 different breakfast spots and 5 different coffee shops this week, Goose and Elder had the best sausage according to her. The breakfast sandwich has it essentially tied with The Governor. I am not a fan of mayonnaise or chipotle sauce, but the "goose" sauce on the breakfast sandwich was actually very good! (way to go!) The fruit spread on the pancakes was an excellent addition that elevated the taste. We will likely be back, especially on those visits to Findley Market and we can people watch from Goose and Elder :)

Service: our server was great - she came by and checked on us very often. We came early around 9:30-10. It wasn't too busy. I think it's better if you make reservation. Food: it was tasty, not too much sauce. See picture below. The place was getting busier after 10. Parking is available on the street (paid), or parking lot.

An event my friend and I were supposed to go to got canceled, so we decided to grab dinner nearby. We saw Goose & Elder and went for it. It wasn't that busy when we were there, but it was a great atmosphere inside. We got drinks and burgers and the burgers are very delicious. We went with only one patty, but if you're really hungry, I'd consider doing two. I'd go back just for that, but we found out they also do brunch. If you consider going for brunch, the server highly recommended to us that we get there early because it gets super crowded on weekends due to the market.

Goose + Elder is for Night 6 of restaurant week Completed the trifecta with Jose Salazar's creations during restaurant week. Very pleasant staff, beautiful ambience right next to Findlay market Had company today with a buddy visiting from Boston. So we tried everything on the restaurant week menu and added a brussel sprouts starter to the order. This was the most wholesome & belly full meal of the week. Generous portion sizes and massive flavors. Tito's mule- just the refreshing cocktail needed on a sunny evening. Paired really well with the starters. Roasted Brussel sprouts & cauliflower So darn good. Two of my favorite vegetables paired with two of my favorite Asian/Indian flavors inspiration resulting in an experience I cannot wait to have every time I am here. The best roasted Brussels dish I have ever had. Strawberry and Beet salad Super fresh, super tasty. A stunning presentation of a spring salad. Felt very high end but not breaking the bank. On a sunny & cool Cincinnati spring evening - this was a highly pleasing plate of freshness. The goat cheese with the pistachio/bee pollen crisps were a bite made in heaven Chile Verde nachos My god- Fritos as nachos...what a genius! Bursting with flavors, melting cheeses, sprinkled spices and citrus salsas bring the nachos with the protein together like no other. Veggie burger Halloumi cheese , colorful zatar sauce on the Falafel patty..that was a helluva veggie burger. Maybe the best veggie burger I have had that was not a classic Spicy Indian veggie burger (like aloo tikki) Desserts Creme brulee - yum. Delicate and Decadent Dark chocolate brownie -yum yum. Rich and Decadent

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday for brunch with a large group(12+2 infants). I called earlier in the week to make a reservation(email the AGM for large parties). They very promptly helped me get one set up and were easy to work with. The table they set up for us was perfect. It was set up in the back of the restaurant, which was perfect as it was removed from the normal loudness of being in the middle of the dining room, but still had full natural light, due to that whole side of the building going back to that room having windows. It made for a great "private" feel to our group's space. Our server, Mike, was prompt and congenial. Everyone in our group loved their food and their drinks. I'm not a Bloody Mary fan so I didn't try it, but my friend said it was the best she's ever had!

Yelp
The food, the vibe, the location ...can't go wrong. The service can be a little slow, as they get quite busy on the weekends, so you'll not want to go if you're in a hurry. We typically go for brunch. All time favorite dish is chilaquiles with a side of goetta. Yum!!!! And you can't go wrong with the donut holes that they freshly cook, upon ordering. The caramel sauce for dipping is the perfect complement to the dish. They do have high chairs if you are bringing a youngster. The bathrooms are clean. And this is a great place for family or friends or a casual date!

Yelp
Heard this was a good place for brunch from our tour guide Miranda. Tried to call and go online to make a reservation with no luck so we just walked in. We were told bc we didn't make a reservation it would be a 45 minute wait. They asked for our phone number to text when our table was ready. An hour later we went back to the hostess to ask about our table. After explaining it had been an hour she replied "oh, you didn't get my text?" I showed her my phone with no texts after the initial message saying our reservation was made. She then said "well I can seat you now." We got to our table and they had it set for 3 not four people. Said they'd bring another place setting and then didn't. We ordered our food and waited. I wasn't looking for anything to be that great bc so far we were not impressed. The food arrived and looked good. Took my first bite of the grits I ordered and was very happy with my selection. My husband offered me a bite of his egg and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. Loved the saucy cheese that was on it. He had also ordered one pancake as a side. It was served with a jam instead of syrup. We're not sure what flavor it was but it was delicious and so was the pancake. Every plate was clean when we left and the food quality made up for the slow and awkward start and poor or barely existent service by our waitress. If the service matched the food quality it would have been 5 stars for me.

Yelp
I have been to Goose and Elder several times, but this was the first time for brunch. I never made a reservation before to go here and I should have, but we did the bar anyway. Our bartender, Erin, was dope. Very friendly from the moment we sat down and poured a delicious Rum Punch. Not as sweet as I wanted, but it was well made. We ordered our food. I got the Salazar's Chiliquiles and she got pancakes with scrambled eggs. We also ordered the Brussel Sprouts, but they forgot to put them in. No big deal. My food was fantastic. I only wish there was more egg and cheese and I would ask for it next time, but the flavor was for sure there. Her pancakes were just okay. She ate every bite of the eggs and she is particular about her eggs. My main complaint is that the food took awhile to come out. Beyond that, I would for sure eat here again. While we waited we watched the F1 race in Monoco and learned about it for fun. The bar stools were super comfy too for not having backs and the art all over the place was cool.

Yelp
We were at Findlay Market looking for something to eat. For some reason I didn't think Goose & Elder would be open, but they were! I was excited to give it a try. And brunch was on the menu, so score! I got the Carlos with goetta. Mark got the Carlos with a side of Crinkle Cut Fries. I was expecting eeny food, but was pleasantly surprised. The Carlos was a solid meal! It was SO good, especially with the goetta. The crema and salsa roja were a delectable compliment to the rest of the food in the bowl. It also had a very nice kick thanks to the poblanos. The goose sauce that came with the fries was delightful, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't made of goose. Everyone that helped while we were there was so helpful and kind. The place is comfortable, with different size tables to easily accommodate most party sizes. We'd definitely come back.

Yelp
This was one of the best brunches I've ever had!! Goose & Elder was amazing! My friend and I stopped in here on Saturday. Since it was around noon, we were worried it would be busy, as we hadn't made a reservation. But we got there and were seated right away! We started off with a carafe of mimosas which was great. My friend couldn't decide between the hot chicken sandwich or the burger, but our server recommended the burger. My friend ordered a side of fries with it as well. I opted for the breakfast sandwich with a pancake on the side. I didn't realize how big the sandwich was so I decided to get both, but they were delicious. The breakfast sandwich came on a ciabatta roll with maple and chipotle mayo, which was amazing. I kept stealing my friend's fries throughout brunch because of the goose sauce those came with as well. This was one of the best sauces I've ever had for fries; the fries were also done extremely well and were very crispy. Our server was awesome. He was very attentive and gave us great recommendations throughout our time there. My friend and I finished off our meal with an espresso martini because we overheard another server talking about how good they were... she was not wrong. It was a great way to end brunch! Overall, Goose & Elder has a really cute, cozy vibe on the inside. It is right by Findlay Market, so it's especially fun to go down to during the weekend when everyone is out and about. There is a patio space where you can eat outside and look at Findlay Market directly. The indoor space seems deceiving, as it appears small, but it actually leads into a bigger back room with a bar. I am really glad I came here for brunch and will definitely be going back!!

Yelp
we asked our server seth what his favorite things were on the menu and he said the chilaquiles & cubano ..... soooo obviously we ordered the chilaquiles and cubano ! drinks were delish! food was sooo yummy and filling! service was attentive, but not overbearing! 10/10! i think i could eat that cubano every day it was SO so good * RESERVATIONS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED *

Yelp
Our go to place around Findlay Market. Everything from brunch, to dinner, to desserts is always good.

Lainy C.

Yelp
Pretty good with decent portions. I wanted to try their duck confit or goetta hash mentioned in reviews but neither items were on the menu. I wanted something more unique than basic brunch food or burgers so I struggled a bit with picking something from the menu, finally opting for the grits with the pork chili verde. The grits were good, especially with the thick cut bacon. It's honestly better without the add on pork chili verde since the pork was kinda tough and bland. We had a side of goetta which though a little salty was much tastier than the pork and a better add on. My nephew enjoyed the blueberry pancakes which had a lot of blueberries. Service was friendly but they messed up my order and then it took forever to pay the bill. They kept walking past us ignoring the check and card on the table. My toddler nephew got so impatient his dad had to take him outside and even then they still ignored us which was weird cause they had people waiting on tables. It was almost like they were trying to avoid us in attempts to flag them down as they walked by. We finally got someone's attention to take the card.

Yelp
Had a decent brunch here! Place is tiny with no music. Enjoyed my breakfast sandwich although it was quite small. Boyfriend said his dish was ok. He got the hash and it was a little spicy. Service was attentive! At the time, I had a little trouble finding something on the menu that sounded good- it is quite small.

Yelp
This place is in the Findlay Market area, but notably is open on Monday, when the market and most of its surrounding businesses are not. That didn't stop it from being crowded, though. It has a classic brick aesthetic and the menu is very Cincinnati, with the notable exception of offering significant options for special dietary needs. There were vegetarian menu items, and some significant non-alcoholic beverage options. I ended up with a falafel-based veggie burger and fries. They seemed to have a lunch special with fewer fries at a lower price; it wasn't clear to me whether the veggie burger was available that way but I didn't litigate the issue because I was busy. As veggie burgers go, this one was a monster; the falafel patty was as robust in flavor as I had hoped, and with a slab of grilled halloumi on top as well, I was stuffed even having skipped breakfast. They have some interesting sauces, both on the burger and with the fries. My mocktail delivered a brisk flavor in addition to looking sharp. This place had some appealing-looking salads as well, which would likely be what I would eat if I came back.

Kendall E.

Yelp
Food was great. French fry portions are large and could probably be split between two people. Very good! Will good back if I'm ever in the area again.

Jess C.

Yelp
A solid 4 stars ! My partner and I went during a Tuesday AM which I admit was weird timing so we were like the only ones there. Why am I excited?! Because they have fried bologna!! HUGE and thick slice of meat which was slightly too much for me. My only beef was a weird smell maybe from cleaning products? Anyway, it turned me off. The bartender was very attentive and service was fabulous! You do have to pay for parking since it's near Findlay market.

Yelp
This just became my new favorite place for brunch! My husband works nearby and had been here a few times for lunch, but I finally got to tag along for a weekend brunch. The space gives a warm and cozy vibe, which I love for a beloved neighborhood spot. We were greeted and served by friendly staff. The food is absolutely divine!! I got the veggie omelet (goat cheese and figs, how could you not!) with a side of fruit and one buttermilk pancake. When I tell you, the pancake made me stop in my tracks! It reminds me of how my mom makes her pancakes, fluffy and full of flavor. The omelet was also delicious--it reminded me of a fluffier French omelet. My husband got the omelet, grits and bacon and we both inhaled our food. They also serve drinks and the mimosa is probably the best deal in town. It's large, delish, and under $10. I wanted to try another cocktail but the one mimosa filled me up. I want to come back for lunch and try more of the menu, especially the falafel burger. I applaud this place on having so many vegetarian options. They do take reservations, but we came at 10 and there were plenty of tables if we would've walked in. This is well worth a visit!

Troy S.

Yelp
My Monday usual B'fast Sammie w sausage two eggs, american cheese, on pillowy soft toasted ciabatta w chipotle mayo... Deelish ‼ comfort food at its finest on the cold day. Great service!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Wonderful food. Close to the market and Washington park. Service was excellent. The staff was so nice e and informative. The atmosphere was so much fun!!

Ali P.

Yelp
Delicious food and a casual atmosphere. Service was really slow at the bar, but I'd be back again for the food alone! Check out the market across from the restaurant. Loved this salad!

Danielle C.

Yelp
Went here for Cincinnati Restaurant Week and it was our favorite that we tried. The meal that we got for $26 was a great price. Appetizer of shishito peppers was my favorite, but the salmon and crème brûlée was also great. My one complaint is that I got the Elderberry margarita, which wasn't on a special and cost $14, and it was the weakest margarita. If you are going to charge $14 for a 10ounce margarita, please make it strong.

Andrye A.

Yelp
I think that this place was pretty good for our quick trip to Cincinnati. We stopped for breakfast and got the Goetta hash which was really good and seemed to be a delicacy of Cincinnati. The staff was really friendly and we were in and out! When I'm in Cincinnati I will definitely be back. The restaurant was a cute vibe and a great breakfast pick!

Les R.

Yelp
Such a great burger and cool little spot! Visiting Cincinnati this weekend and needed a place for lunch. Loved that the YELP app helped me find this place. Parking did take a few minutes to figure out but drove around and found a pay lot as street parking seemed almost impossible. We did have to download the CincyEZ Park app but it was pretty straightforward. The Goose and Gander is a really cute restaurant, located across the street from Findlay Market. We were seated by a front windows so we could view the neighborhood and watch people go in and out of the market. The staff and servers were really friendly and offered highlights on what to check out in the area. We both had the double patty ROYALE GOOSE BURGER ($12.50). A delicious choice and the need was labeled as "grass-fed". It came with american cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato, pickles, with dijonnaise, serves on a same seed bun. We added a side of the ELDER FRIES ($5). These things were awesome. Loved the goose sauce that came with them for dipping and the fries were crinkle cut, fried, and salted. These were so good. I think it was the oil they were friend in and the salt that made them extra tasty. The bill does have two tip sections. One for the general gratuity and the other for the kitchen. Totally threw me off and I had never seen it on a bill before, ever. Place was more trendy than Boujee, and I have eaten at restaurants at a much higher price point so not sure it this is a newer thing or what. I like the concept in theory but that doubles the gratuity and if you tip 20% twice. Haven't tipped like that since back in my drinking days trying to do bar math then adding with that extra line in there. Just wasn't familiar with the practice and what is customary with the extra kitchen tip to include too. If I get a chance to eat here again I have my eyes on the Gried Bologna sandwich, or Mac n Cheese, or the Chicken strudel. It was delicious food, a cute little restaurant, in a fun neighborhood. You can't go wrong eating here. Would highly recommend the burger but I bet all the food is amazing.

Richard M.

Yelp
Very good meal. Quaint, homey, pleasant atmosphere. Really nice waiter. I had the duck, which was quite good but on the salty side of the spectrum. The bacon is nice but makes it more salty. Grits were very good; greens were flavorful (but salty). One friend had falafel salad, another had quesadilla. Both were quite pleased. We shared Brussels sprouts and cauliflower which was probably the best dish of the night. Good beer!!

Meera K.

Yelp
After a weekend out on the town, brunch at goose and elder is the perfect way to ward off the Sunday Scaries! They have a delicious falafel burger! Layered with grilled halloumi cheese and all the fixin's Cherry Sunflower bread French Toast topped with fresh fruit for dessert We're looking forward to returning for their veggie quesadilla and mozz sticks!

Ron M.

Yelp
It was a wonderful Saturday evening dinner. ! The atmosphere was relaxed so it was easy to sit and talk and the service was attentive and casually paced. We started with brussel sprouts which were as easy to eat as potato chips. Duck confit was fall off the bone delicious and perfectly seasoned (not too salty as other reviewers observed). I will definitely order this again. Chicken schnitzel was also very tasty with buttered noodles that could satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Dessert of donuts and cake were a splendid end to the meal. Excellent experience.

Tasha H.

Yelp
Pre-museum "day" date lunch with the hubs. I love that they take reservations as it was quite full and I appreciate the host for honoring my request of a window facing seat. On to the food which was A-ok. We shared an order of the curry Brussels sprouts which was a nice change from the typical roasted/fried sprouts however it was a tad over-salted. The same can be said of their fries which was too salty and I drank way too much water to compensate. Please consider omitting and allowing patrons to add if wanted. For entrees, he had the veggie quesadilla which was delicious and I, the duck with grits and collards. The duck was cooked perfectly with crispy skin but I didn't care for the greens as they seemed like an afterthought and were overcooked. The Mr. also ordered an elderberry mocktail which he said tasted like glorified strawberry lemonade. Overall good meal but I'll give them another chance to wow me.

Yelp
We were excited to eat at a Jose Salazar restaurant. We got there early and it was barely half full. The menu is limited but who cares - this is a Jose Salazar restaurant! The food was so mediocre and disappointing. (in fact we have reservations at another one of his restaurants and are cancelling based off the quality of this food). One person in our party wanted the Cubano but without cheese. They could not do it because they are "premade". Another guest wanted ham in his omelette but they said they could not do that because they did not have ham (which of course comes on the Cubano). That should have been a red flag for me but I ordered anyway. Disappointed for sure. Our food did not come out at the same time so we had to wait on that. The only reason we are giving 2 stars instead of 1 is our server was pretty darn good.

Julie W.

Yelp
Adjacent to Findlay Market, it provides a nice stop for a sit down lunch. The menu is rather limited. But covers the basic burger, salad or appetizer that is lunch apropos It is casual and moderately priced. We got a hamburger and a salad with chicken. Both were good (not exceptional). Prefer Salazar or Mita's (his other two restaurants). They have room for a kitchen tip in addition to the regular tip. Not something I'm a fan of. Would rather be charged up front so kitchen staff can have better wages.

Theresa S.

Yelp
Having out-of-town guests last week, I had the chance to try two Salazar restaurants back-to-back: Salazar, and Goose + Elder. While I enjoy Salazar's location, outdoor dining, and bread selection (it is outstanding!!!), I think Goose + Elder beat it out as our favorite. We stopped by in the late afternoon and so it was slow and we were able to really take our time looking over the menu and making our picks. We ordered loads of apps to share, like the pork chile verde nachos (big hit), the ricotta/fruit toast, the blistered shishito peppers, cauliflower and bruseel sprouts. My friend had the chicken schnitzel with butter noodles, which I gladly had a taste of, and that was a great dish, too. Very pleased!!!!

Becca S.

Yelp
Went for Sunday brunch and expected a long wait but they got us seated immediately and food came quickly too! Started with a seasonal blackberry bellini and mimosa and got the ciabatta breakfast sandwich with a side of potatoes- all good. Quiet and nice looking back seating area that had bar seating as well, both looking out toward Findlay Market; definitely a good pre market breakfast!

Lee K.

Yelp
A trip to Findlay market is always a treat, well my wife thinks it's a treat and likes to walk up and down checking out the tri tip (which they never have!) or the Prosciutto and cheeses Me, I'd rather sit outside with a cocktail. So it was a bit of a disappointment when we went to their 170th birthday, which sounded great online but really there was not much happening. So we cut our losses and went to Goose and Elder it was pretty busy but we snagged two seats at the bar (always the best place to be) We had two glasses of house white @$8. It was very enjoyable and slightly frizzante!! Not sure that is a word but they were frizzante and highly recommend. As a small snack we ordered the Royale Goose burger and Elder fries. We have been here before I wasn't that impressed with my choices. But Maybe. Just Maybe that was my fault because the burger was delicious- we had a single patty but you can get double, a wonderful sesame seed bun with cheese, dijonaisse etc. but no pickle for me. The fries were ok. Nice but just ok. Combine this with great service. Cool and casual, not fake or overbearing and I think we made the right decision.

Bobby K.

Yelp
Hot chicken sandwich was amazing! Would drive back the hour and a half i live away just for it!

Melanie U.

Yelp
Ate here recently for dinner with a friend and found the food much more flavorful (and drinks were perfect). The disco fries were a great appetizer to split, fried bologna sandwich was good (I asked for no pickles and there were a bunch of them on it), and my friend enjoyed her veggie quesadilla.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Goose & Elder was the first restaurant I stopped at during my trip to Cincinnati. I liked the menu upon first glance when I stopped by their window. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. I had the duck confit with cheesy grits while my companion had the basic burger with fries. The duck was way too salty. Not only that but the vegetables they added were also too salty! They compounded all the salty food with dried bacon... more salt. I couldn't finish my meal because it probably contained double the daily recommended sodium inside. The only good part of the dish were the cheesy grits that was actually quite good. The burger and fries were acceptable. For what it's worth, the side of fries were generous and had a reasonable amount of salt on top. The burger was forgettable. Customers may have a better dining experience if they sit at the lounge area in the back. I certainly wish that I had. Findlay Market is right across from the street, which is a blessing. Parking is not bad for a downtown of a city, and I only paid about $8 for all-day parking a block away.

Yelp
Grabbed some takeout from here after a fun evening at La Ofrenda. The veggie falafel burger is one of the best I ever tasted with so many unexpected flavors (havarti cheese for the win!). Fries were decent as well. I can't wait to try more from the menu. The bar and restaurant were adequately busy for a Friday night.

Yelp
Good food, fast service, and delightful atmosphere. I got a grain bowl that was excellent, along with a macaroni and cheese side (with jalapeños and Fritos). My partner got a chicken sandwich and fries, that were excellent. Wasn't too busy on a Thursday evening - but worth your time.

Yelp
I got a Queen City gift card from a friend and wanted to use it to treat myself to a good meal. I had only seen Goose & Elder during my walks around Findlay Market, but had never stepped inside. It was a nice surprise to see that they were one of the participating restaurants. The host took care of me as soon as she could and seated me at the bar. It was lunch time and I was by myself, so it made sense. I was taken care of by the bartender who was so nice and easy to make conversation with. The drinks he was making looked great, and as much as I wanted a drink, I still had work to return to. I got myself a Topo Chico and thanks to his recommendation got me the chicken schnitzel. The meal was absolutely delicious! The noodles, honestly, to die for. The sauce that came with it, I couldn't get enough of. And the chicken, of course, was so well cooked and crispy. I am looking forward to coming back here, actually getting a cocktail and trying something else out. At the very least though, the chicken schnitzel is a nice gem.

Yelp
Amazing! Great food, excellent service. Miss the steak but other than that perfect. Would recommend to all looking for a chill casual spot for dinner in Cincy.

Yelp
Best Bloody Mary in all of Cincinnati! I remember getting it a year ago and thinking it was good. Then I went back two weeks ago hoping it was as good as I remembered, and it was better. Get it spicy! Food is always fresh. Have always had wonderful service. Probably my favorite brunch spot in the city. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Quick trip to Cincinnati from Columbus , some Findlay Market stroll and lunch at the Goose &Elder , perfect day to sit outside and enjoy a cold Hefeweizen a delicious Burger and Quesadilla. What made it even better was our server , if I would remember her name I would name her . All I remember was her smile , great service and ink on her arm .

Yelp
Goose and Elder, easily the worse dining experience I've had in Cincinnati in the 15 years I've been traveling there. The first waitress could not understand my comment "is the cider dry or sweet", the second one said it's dry only to find out is was soooo sweet. I specifically asked for and was assured I could get my sandwich on gluten free bread, it got served with a regular bun and when I questioned her about it she said "it should be gluten free". She disappeared and never returned, 15 minutes later I flagged down another waiter (by then my friend was done eating) and explained my situation and he sent another sandwich. The first waitress (may have been the manager) could have given two sh*ts about what was going on. She also sent some items to the table we didn't order and charged us for them.

Yelp
My 17 yr old said his chicken schnitzel might've been the best meal he's ever had. He and husband ordered that and haven't stopped talking about it. I ordered the veg burger and it was fantastic as well. The fried cheese slab on top was outta this world. Falafel perfect crunchy & aioli was purposely slopped. Service was attentive and capable. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
So I've been to Goose and Elder many times before. It has always been for dinner time or the Sunday Fried chicken. Today we had brunch in honor of my son's birthday. We ordered several plates and shared. We had goetta hash, french toast, bacon, burger, fries. I've never had goetta so I was on the fence. Now I say goetta hash for the win. This hash was soooo good. The french toast and bacon were also delicious. I knew I really liked Goose and Elder. Today I discovered I love this spot.

Yelp
Right across from Findlay market, I wanted to try for awhile but there's always a wait. That just made me want to try harder. Finally got in and ordered a Bloody Mary. One of the best in the city. I am Thankful on Thursday for that Bloody Mary. I ordered French Toast, and it was different on very thick bread, but also very very good. It had fresh fruit and whipped cream. Wouldn't be good for breakfast, but wondereful at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
We wanted it to be better. The room is very comfortable. 4 stars for the Fried Bologna Sandwich. 3 stars for the Blistered Shishito Peppers. 1 star for the Disco Fries - cold and tasteless. No draft beers were available because there was no CO2 and the Tennessee Hot Cider was unavailable because the kettle was broken.

Yelp
Had a lot higher expectations being owned by Jose Salazar, but the food was just ok IMO. The bar environment is cute so would go again for drinks but would probs skip getting food. If you don't have a reservation they put you in the back with the car just as a note. You definitely don't need a reservation though because it's never over crowded with a wait from what I've seen. Another note was that we got convinced to buy the nachos...do not waste your money because it was literally a walking taco in a bowl and was insanely overpriced.

Yelp
Came to Cincinnati to visit a friend and stopped in here for lunch. We had the brussels, ricotta toast, nachos, and mac n cheese Everything was phenomenal and the service was second to none! Our server, Jam was the most pleasant, knowledgeable, and kind Would recommend to anybody Wish I could give more than 5 stars

Yelp
The burgers are amazing but I found bugs on my fries that look like ants. I've eaten my share of bugs and I know they're just ants but I wasn't expecting this from a place where a burger and fries is $20. Pretty sure they were not on the menu. On second thought, might be roaches. If that's the case then...gross. Unless they're Madagascar roaches which are good but those are cleaned thoroughly.

Yelp
We arrived for Sunday brunch soon after they opened and we also had reservations for our group of six, and we were promptly seated. It was a cool morning so the spiked hot apple cider was the perfect way to kick off brunch. I ordered the Turkey Monte Cristo. It was a much sweeter dish than I had anticipated, and I prefer savory brunch items, but nonetheless it was a tasty dish. I also ordered a side of bacon, which was very well done and peppery. In the future I wouldn't necessarily order the bacon. My husband had the royal goose burger that I tried and it was amazing. We also shared an order of crinkle cut fries. They were just the right amount of crispy and they were accompanied with house "goose sauce", which was similar to a flavored aioli. Our waitress was very friendly and took care of us fantastically.

Yelp
I just recently discovered this place during Covid and it has become one of my favorite brunch spots! I have been here three times and have been seated promptly, with friendly attentive but not overly invasive service and the food has always been delicious. I particularly liked their goetta hash and stone ground grits. I would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Love Salazar proper, but Jose... you done did us **dirty** with Goose & Elder. After all of the rave reviews and fanfare, I came in for brunch expecting a bit more. First up: the GF hamburger. The bread was dry. So dry it felt like eating sandpaper. Dry like, I'm-doing-a-dry-food-eating-challenge-dry. Dry like, I'm-having-dysphasia-and-be-ready-to-resuscitate-me-dry. I hate to judge a dish based on a version with dietary modifiers, but the meat itself was not great either. Insult to injury = GF bread is a $1.50 up-charge. Strike one. Now, I'm no stranger to binging on some Ore-Idas, but let's be real: the crinkle fries here belong next to some chickie nuggs at a little league game, not at an OTR boutique restaurant. Strike two. There was an inordinate amount of salt coating them (as in, 2-3x the regular amount anyone would do), but the waitress was not super attentive so I brushed it all off. They also aren't included and have to be added á la carte. Strike three. (Four?) Not trying to be a duckhead here, but I know (ref. Salazar + Mita's) Goose can do better. Cool concept for an entry-level joint, but very poor execution -or- very bad luck on the dishes I ordered. Can't hit a home run every time.
