Just off Savannah Highway, inside a small shopping plaza, Chef Loong is a very comfortable restaurant with both Table and Booth seating.
With lots of Staff, there is plenty of support to take care of the entire restaurant and then some.
We ordered 4 dishes, and surprisingly each was listed as a signature dish. But after enjoying each dish so thoroughly, we understood why they were listed as signature.
We started with a Cucumber Salad, with coarsely chopped fresh cucumbers, in a garlic, vinegar, and sesame Oil sauce. This is a very refreshing dish, which I recommend eating between other dishes as a cleansing of the palate.
Next was Sichuan Chili Wonton, which were pork filled with steamed Wontons, think dumplings with a slighter thicker wrapper. The wonton was served in a Sichuan and chili oil sauce. The sauce also had hints peanuts or peanut butter. The wife said they were by far the best Dumpling/Wonton she has ever eaten. I would have to agree.
The 3rd dish (and my favorite) was the Dan Dan Noodles. This dish was made with Wheat noodles in a very spicy Sichuan peppercorn, chili oil, and sesame paste sauce with tiny crunchy peanuts. Wow, such a spicy powerful and delicious dish. Sorry, no photos, but you can trust me, it was a good-looking dish.
We ended the meal with Peaking Duck and steamed Buns. Consisting of Crispy Duck, thinly sliced scallions and cucumbers, served with puffy Steamed buns and a hoisin bean sauce paste. While I might have wanted a bit more duck, it was plenty for the 4 steamed buns, and about right considering the low price for this type of dish. This was a good dish to finish the meal.
