Food Rundown Festival Your order comes with two slices of white bread, but this slightly sweet fried dumpling shaped like a torpedo is a better way to mop up excess jerk seasoning. It only costs $1.53 per piece, so get a couple. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc Jerk Chicken This is why Chef Tally has a right to put “world famous” in its name. The chicken has been slathered in a jerk rub with a little heat, pulled from the grill at exactly the right moment, and chopped into manageable pieces with a meat cleaver before it’s piled into your to-go box. You can do small or large, and go white meat, dark meat, or a mix of the two. Go with dark meat. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc Jerk Ribs Big and meaty, these ribs are the second-best jerk you can get here. They offer a chicken and ribs combo too, which is the way to go if you’re sharing with a friend. Jerk Pork The flavor from the jerk rub is the best part of the pork, but it’s a little too dry. If you do order this, be sure to generously bathe it in sauce on your way out, which will give it some extra moisture." - Ryan Pfeffer

I drove 40 minutes from South Beach just to try this chef tally food truck, and let me tell you—it was totally worth it. I arrived right during the dinner rush and waited in line for about an hour, but I was just glad they hadn’t sold out by the time I got to the front! I ordered the large chicken and the large chicken & ribs combo. The meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. The sauces were a standout—sooo good with just the right amount of heat. I'm a big pepper sauce fan, and theirs did not disappoint. I also appreciated the variety of sauces available. Another thing I noticed (and appreciated): they were really clean and organized. The staff cleaned the sauce bottles frequently and made sure everything stayed stocked and tidy, even during the rush. I’m so happy I finally made the trip out here—this place lives up to the hype. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Google
Bought a couple of things fry fish was delicious but the escovitch had too much sugar in it worst it’s something they make from early to serve throughout the day so by the time you buy it the onion and carrot is really sweet with sugar with it’s not suppose to have a sugar taste, then I Ordered 3 meat combo the ribs was delicious, the chicken was ok but VERY disappointed with the pork & I love pork really lacking taste serving that large amount of food really need to ensure you prep your pork properly because it’s really lacking taste even when I placed it down for awhile you know you can go back and taste a piece and the seasoning would have traveled through the meat but it hasn’t and you shouldn’t have to depend on jerk sauces to carry off the meat, should be great by itself waste a lot of meat because of it but fast customer service. Oh & the festivals was really nice.

Google
Great food! Great Hospitality. I couldn't choose one so I got the triple combo with jerk pork, white meat chicken, and ribs. When I tell you delicious is an understatement, I mean can't compare. Great place to visit

Stephen Dear

Google
Some decent Jamaican jerk. The triple combo of chicken, pork and ribs can feed three people. I ended up in a meat coma...deeeelicious! The pepper sauce is proper, proper. The festival was also on point.

Brandon Fludd

Google
This is one of my favorite BBQ spots around. The ribs don't need any sauce as they are seasoned well enough to enjoy. I do like the sauce and it's slightly spicy. The scene can get crazy with so many people lined up but you get your food in a timely fashion.

Chef Tally’s is a carnivore’s delight, it is the best Jerk in South Florida! It is a must have for any meat lover, if you are visiting or live in South Florida. The robust blend of jerk spices adds depth to the meat. The festival is fried in peanut oil, and tastes amazing! Service is great, lines tend to be long, but move very quickly. Call and place your order, before going. Parking is a bit sketchy, you may have to wait for someone to leave. They only offer take away, you can place an order through Grubhub.

Google
Very rude service. They stopped the entire line for 30 minutes to take care of a few woman that just walked up. They completely ignored everyone else in the line. When I tried to place an order the girl ignored me and kept walking. I drove 45 minutes and won't be back. They did not communicate to us advising us of anything. They just left us in the line with no communication at all. If you are saying it was a catering order then you could have advised your loyal customers of this instead of ignoring us for 30 Minutes. And I saw the bags that the 4 girls walked away with. It was not a catering order. It was 4 small lemonades and each girl had an individual bag. I understand you may have "VIP" customers but that definitely wasn't the way to handle it. The girl at the register was not the rude one. It was another girl that ignored me when I was trying to order a water because I was about to pass out from standing in the heat so long. Communication is key.

I love Chef Tally! I drove 40 mins to get food today and it was worth the drive. I ordered the triple which consists of jerk pork, chicken, and ribs!

Yelp
Whenever I'm in FTL for 36 hours or more, this spot is always my first stop--it's a must! They serve up a mountain of chicken, two slices of bread, and an entire lineup of BBQ sauces ranging from mild to spicy to pepper. You can choose from an assortment of meats--white or dark--and pick small or large portions, depending on your appetite. I always drench my chicken in a spicy sauce with a splash of mild--only to immediately regret it as my tongue catches fire and my eyes turn into waterfalls. The smoky aroma of BBQ fills the air, mingling with the hum of laughter and chatter. It's just a food truck parked in a lot, with parking spaces on the sides and across the street, but the vibe feels like a laid-back backyard cookout with strangers who might just become your new best friends. From the cashier to the grill masters, everyone is incredibly friendly. Make this your go-to spot!

Yelp
This review is way overdue and I'm going to be straight to the point. If you want mouthwatering fall off the bone jerk chicken or ribs and want the best bang for your buck this is your place. Simple no frills food truck with one table and uses the corner warehouse behind it for food prep and freezer storage. The eatery is not easily found within a warehouse district just peeking out from old West Park suburbia. Use Google Maps or just follow the food zombies walking in herds to the location. Extremely tight parking and the line is crazy long after 8pm but don't get too discouraged and drive away, the line subsides quickly. As you wait in anticipation, a huge meat smoker is running at full capacity next to the food truck and smells great. For $30.00 they overload the styrofoam container with so much food that the lid has trouble closing - not exaggerating at all. I can oddly consume a ton of food in one sitting but this portion could easily be shared by two normal sized humans. Due to the seating situation, I grab my jerk ribs, drench them in their custom sweet spicy sauce and snatch a stack of napkins, then drive to the Home Depot parking lot and enjoy my feast. The hours of operation are only Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11am - 11pm. TIP - NEVER cut the line at this place, DON'T even think about it.

Yelp
We've been coming to Chef Tally's for years and never seem to get enough, it's so good! When you pull up and see a huge line, don't freak out! The service is efficient and moves quickly so it's definitely worth the wait. This is a to-go place, so don't expect table and chairs, but it's brightly light. Now for the food!!! The ribs fall off the bone, the chicken is smoked to perfection and the pork is insanely tender. A "large" plate of definitely enough for 2 people to share. Don't forget to completely douse your plate in complimentary sauce before you leave! Chef's Tally's is Chef's Kiss!

Reen K.

Yelp
Chef Tally's bbq is still the best, in the South. When I come home to Miami, Florida, I always come to West Park (Carver Ranches), to pick up some ribs. The jerk seasoning is so delicious, and the meat is tender. I love the bbq sauce as well. We will definitely be back soon. :-)

Therese W.

Yelp
My brother took me to get ribs when I came home to visit... Now I am upset because he says he's bee. coming for years and this was my first visit! ... I feel betrayed! They run a very efficient operation. They took our orders quickly and the food came out hot of the grill! The portion size was sufficient and the food was excellent! I highly recommend if you haven't already experienced it for yourself.

Gladys S.

Yelp
About two weeks ago my boss treated us to in his words "the best jerk chicken and ribs in the area". After tasting it ai can say that it's really good! I don't have a high tolerance for spicy food, but it was sooo good that I kept eating it with watery eyes and all. I will definitely get them again.

Chris M.

Yelp
The food is amazing!! Chef Tally is one of a kind .He should be on Mt Rushmore of chefs

Dawn W.

Yelp
Our go to is the white meat chicken. It's so tender juicy and flavorful. And it's a lot for the price.Today I tried the brown sugar fresh squeezed lemonade as well and it is delicious! Not too sweet but very good. The staff is very personable and they get the orders out quickly. Definitely a food truck to try!

Jazz R.

Yelp
This is the go to place for some jerk chicken and pork on a weekend night! The lines are long for a reason abd the food is fresh of the grill hot. I read that there are many vegetarian options lmao. If you only want bread and sauce then go at em' otherwise don't go if you're vegetarian and don't go if you not about watching people eat some meat. The meat is consistently well seasoned and well cooked. Never had an encounter with pink meat and I've been coming for almost ten years. If you're not into spicy then you have been warned even the mild is spicy. Spicy is nose dripping, head sweating kinda spicy so beware of which sauce you choose. This food ain't come to play baby! Go get a piece of the Caribbean! Live & Love! Enjoy as I am sure you will!

Yelp
I checked them out last night for the first time. I ordered the Large Dark Meat Jerk Chicken and the Small Pork. I ordered online through Grubhub and requested extra Jerk Sauce for both the chicken and pork. They must not do that during the prep and packing, because neither one had extra sauce. I did appreciate that the order was ready and waiting when I got there, but I would have appreciated if they had small 'to-go' 1 oz. containers there to grab for to go orders. They only had the larger squirt containers on a table for everyone to sauce their orders. The Jerk Chicken was double chopped as requested and plentiful...the serving size matched the picture. The pork on the other-hand, was packed in a smaller container than pictured and was a lot smaller portion than I expected. If you like the pork, you definitely want to order the large, which is the container size shown on Grubhub for both sizes (see picture below). The pork was scooped up and finished by my two sons and seemed to be the hit of the evening. The chicken was good, but had that slight charcoal briquette/lighter-fluid taste to it...like it was cooked over coals that hadn't burned down before the food was cooked. I don't think their chicken is cooked over charcoal but that the best way I can describe the taste. Although for me, the bottle of their House BBQ Sauce made the difference. The sauce had a great and slow burn on the heat...meaning it didn't taste spicy on the first bite, it definitely had a kick at the end...I highly recommend adding a bottle to your order. The ambiance was okay. There was a line when I got there and a lot of card parked there and around. I didn't see tables for people to sit and eat if they wanted and the orders and pickup are through a food truck. The customer service at the pickup window was fast and efficient, they asked for the name on the order and handed me my order. There were several people waiting by the pickup window...just know there's no problem walking up to the counter to check on your pickup order. When I got there, I didn't like that I was charged so much more ordering through Grubhub. They don't appear to have their own website for orders, so if you want to order ahead, be prepared to pay more for the experience...for example, if you order there and wait in line to order and then wait for your food to get to you. The Small Dark-Meat Chicken is $16.55, the Small Pork $13.39. Through Grubhub, the Chicken was $21.58 and the Pork $17.46...plus a service fee and tip request. Overall, I wish they had options for sides with their food, but basically, they're setup as a "meat feast" of chicken, pork and ribs. They're more of a BBQ stand than Jerk Specialists, with a specific Jerk Sauce and seasoning getting lost (in my opinion) in the smoking/bbq process.

Destiny C.

Yelp
I got the small chicken and rib plate. When I tell you they LOAD YOU UP! The box wouldn't even close. The ribs and chicken were both tender and juicy. The smoke flavor was present but not over powering. For the price I would come here every week if I lived here! Definitely a must try.

Kayla H.

Yelp
My husband is always recommending Chef Tally and I always turn it down. We went for lunch one day and i must say, that jerk chicken was amazing! Very flavorful and cooked perfectly. It was packed but service was extremely fast. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for some good chicken.

Khadija C.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for delicious jerk this is the SPOT. The food is delicious and served so quickly. The service is also very quick. I was shocked at how fast the line moved. Beware the only "side" is sliced bread (2 slices). But you're getting meat STACKED (I couldn't close my container and I got a small mixed chicken and pork) the prices are actually very reasonable for the amount of food you're getting. And you can feed a family off the large sizes. I highly recommend and I will be going back. Also FYI: it is a food truck so there is no place to sit and eat. And not much parking, you get your food and go.

Shanice G.

Yelp
The best jerk pork I've had in Miami by a landslide. LAND SLIDE. The pork quality itself was good sometimes people give you sum janky piece of pork but these were thick and juicy cut perfectly. The jerk chicken was alright - nothing to particularly dislike about it but maybe we needed more jerk sauce on it.

Bryan R.

Yelp
Always freshly cooked and long lines move quickly. Be careful with the ghost pepper sauce you can add on, very spicy, but this street side warehouse food truck semi permanent, delivery's

Kaneil S.

Yelp
Chef Tally World famous Jerk is a gem. I found this spot while I was in the area for work and I had to give it a try. This place in a no frills just meat type of establishment; no seats, no sides just chose your meat and the size you want. Jerk pork, chicken and ribs are served in generous portions. The food boxes struggle in vain to stay closed. The "restaurant" is small but the smokers/grills are huge. I had the chicken and pork combo and the jerk flavor was authentic and hit the spot. If you're in the area give Chef Tally a try.

Alicia M. B.

Yelp
Everything is Awesome! Food always fresh. Staff always pleasant and friendly. Expect long lines BUT worth the wait.

Nia S.

Yelp
Chef Tally's excels in providing large portions of delicious food accompanied by quick and friendly service. Would recommend!

Carbon F.

Yelp
Super great traditional jerk chicken/ribs/pork and their sides make the meal complete. My fav are the homemade sauces available for purchase!!!

Trish D.

Yelp
The best you'll get without traveling to Jamaica. Portions are ridiculous! Ordered tri-plate: jerk chicken, jerk pork, & jerk ribs. Enough food for 3 hungry people. $25!

Tiffani C.

Yelp
The food is always awesome here!!! I always get Ribs and chicken combo you won't be disappointed. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait unless you do like me and order ahead on yelp. If you order ahead you'll enjoy pulling up, skipping the line and grabbing your food and go.

Jeanette L.

Yelp
Excellent jerk chicken! My favorite! Service is fast and friendly. It's a well established food truck ( none mobile) so nothing fancy and the food is cooked on premises.

Jack K.

Yelp
The best jerk chicken, pork & ribs around including Jamaica. Chef Tally is fantastic! Highly recommended to those who only want the best.

Marlie J.

Yelp
The food here is amazing But make sure to come early because the ribs get done very quickly The service is great and the people nice!!

Rick V.

Yelp
First time here. In on a Friday at 3:30. Short line. Ordered: Large jerk pork $19.39 DRY - Needed Sauce Large jerk Chicken $16:23 DRY - Needed Sauce 2 Festival Dumplings $1.50 ea Jamaican festival dumplings are made from plain flour, yellow cornmeal, brown sugar and salt. Fresh milk is use to give the festival dumplings its fluffy interior. Jerk flavor and spice was just right. Plenty of meat in both orders. Meats were cleaver chopped so you have to watch out for bone fragments.

V M.

Yelp
Fast service,Great food , extra large portions! Great Taste it's on the Money ! Got the Mixed Chicken plate and it was over flowing. Even the Mild sauce is spicy ! Hopefully you don't go too late to avoid the line.

Erika T.

Yelp
Best jerk in this area! I've been buying my jerk from Chef Tally for a decade now and it never changes

Shanaz K.

Yelp
The best, most delicious Jerk Chicken and bbq sauce!! We've catered and ordered individually, both great!

Kaye D.

Yelp
Food is delicious Great customer service There is always a line speaks to the amazing Chicken , Ribs and Pork!!!

Arie M.

Yelp
Overpriced and mediocre at best. There is no place to seat and you have to take it home or eat it in your car. To top it all of, they charge $0.50 for plastic cups. Ridiculous. The only good thing about the place was the bbq sauce. Ribs where 75% fat and the chicken had multiple parts that were impossible to eat.

Chris P.

Yelp
Came here today. This is a food truck set up around what appears to be an industrial area full of warehouses. Nowhere to sit or anything like that but not a problem. I had a friend from work recommend coming here. He told me it's one of the best places in south broward to get jerk ribs, chicken, and pork. When we showed up there was a line of people coming up get food from here. Ordered 2 of the $25 dollar mixed dishes. It had ribs, pork, and chicken. For the amount of meat in one dish a couple of people could have ate from it. All the meat was tender and seasoned well. There was also sauces available to take too but I felt the food didn't need any. All in all great jerk food. I would definitely come here again when I'm in the mood.

Kirk K.

Yelp
Good food always the best......jerk ribs and pork is amazing.. I recommend everyone to give there tastebuds a stop at Chef Tally World Famous Jerk

Mauricio D.

Yelp
Best Caribbean jerk BBQ in the Hollywood area. The crew takes pride in cooking chicken, pork, and beef. No vegetables! They are only open Thursday - Sunday, though. Their portions are LARGE and the prices are fair.

Alisha A.

Yelp
1 large plate can feed 4. I'm not making this up. A small plate can be shared with two or 1 if your back is big. Chef tally has my heart because this chicken is heaven sent. Get a natural juice on the side of the truck or a fountain drink, both compliment the meal. I'm Haitian but It feels like a Jamaican friend invited me to their cookout. Love it here

Nathanael I.

Yelp
The people of TikTok led me to this Bbq spot and they did not fail me. Some of the best jerk chicken that I've ever tasted. It's outdoors and there is no seating. Order your food and sit in your car like everyone else. They have guys on the grill wearing face mask because they are smoking/grilling so much chicken. When I got there it smelled like coals and pimento. The line was long and the customer service was great. I got the large jerk chicken with ribs. It was soo good that I went back and got a small chicken with dark meat and a fish to go. This will be my new go to for jerk chicken and fish.

Janell B.

Yelp
Amazing jerk chicken and ribs. Worth the drive and worth the wait. It's best to place your order early.

Lynn L.

Yelp
We've been to so many jerk places here in SoFlo and this is honestly one of the best around town. Only open certain days, so do check out the days and hours. Serious no frills, no sides, just the best meats, to-go only. Good well marinated meat, smoked and grilled just right and serious huge portions. The tomato based sauce is ok (self serve after you get your meat, you pay a buck for a container or you squirt right onto your meat)... not my favorite but it's still good. My favorite ranking from flavor and taste: jerk pork (has crispy skin), then ribs then chicken.

Michael J.

Yelp
The food is always great! I love the old man who make sure the line is in order and the sauce is filled.

Kim H.

Yelp
Jerk pork was good. Friend of mine who never had chef tally's really enjoyed his jerk pork as well.

Charles J.

Yelp
Wow.... bro, it doesn't matter who you are, where you've been, and where you are headed to... this place for jerk chicken is 100% for real. I came here with my cousin Victor who is in town from Seattle Washington and we decided to get some jerk barbecue and did we find the right spot. He got the triple combo, and I got two large containers of the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was so tender literally chicken falling off the bone and the taste was amazing they have an array of sauces. This spot was legit. I didn't see or ask about any sides but it was so good that it would be a total dishonor for any side dish to think it can share a spot on the same plate with this amazement.

Dakota K.

Yelp
Slappin. If you've ever been to anywhere Caribbean you'll like this place. Get a lot of food so be prepared to share.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Not true jerk but doing his ting. There's room for improvement. Big up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Les N.

Yelp
First time at Chef Tally and it did not disappoint. Essentially a food truck with a canopy for the saucing area, the menu is pretty straightforward - perfectly cooked jerk chicken was the star. Had the large white and dark meat chicken, huge portion (closing the container was impossible), moist, served in a styrofoam container with 2 slices of white bread and a fork, served without sauce. 3 sauces are offered - mild (sweet, chutney like), medium (turned out to be my go to - good amount of heat for my taste), and extra hot, which I didn't try. You get your order, then sauce them yourself. Small cups of extra sauce are $0.50 ea. it's a pure jerk joint, no sides, no tables, just some dynamite jerk. Will be back!

Sean K.

Yelp
Absolutely lived up to five year's worth of hype. I finally had a chance to make it to Chef Tally, and it completely over-delivered. The meats were all moist, smoky, and great in their own right. Not sure which was my favorite, but if I had to pick one, I think I'd lean pork. The sauces were all great, too. They packed so much meat in the box that it wouldn't even close. My order next time would probably be a small chicken and pork, but I did really enjoy the ribs.

Aja F.

Yelp
Chef Tally owes me nothing. I got the triple Trio and everything about it was great. He gives you more than enough. The flavors are perfect. Be careful with the sauce. If you like extremely hot then you go for the yellow bottles, if you like Very hot go for the red bottles but if you can't handle the heat then I suggest you to go for the clear bottles for the regular sauce. I will most definitely be back when I visit Miami again.

Danielle F.

Yelp
Have been visiting this place for years. They have some of the best jerk chicken around but you have to catch them on Thursday-Saturday when they are open. The chicken is plentiful and fresh and This is one of the only places I'll order ribs from. This sauce is the icing on the cake though. Like a spicy bbq it is delicious!!! Satisfied my Saturday craving!!!!

Ali A.

Yelp
Not real authentic Jamaican jerk chicken. It's good for the Americans and the Jamaicans that have liven in America for a while.

Michael T.

Yelp
Anyone Bourdain fan knows you've gotta get way off the beaten path to find the good stuff typically enjoyed by locals only. Well, if Bourdain were to visit South Florida again, I'd like to think he'd make it a point to check in with Chef Tally for some of his self-proclaimed "World Famous Jerk". Pop the location in your GPS and as you pass house after house you'll begin to think it's taking you in the wrong direction. Then, out of nowhere, the bright blue awning appears, immediately adjacent to an auto mechanic. This isn't a restaurant for foodies, it's a spot for eaters. Down home food done right, plain and simple! No fancy menus, no white gloved service, and heck, NO TABLES EITHER! As we pulled up I couldn't take my eyes off the banks of HUGE drum shaped smokers billowing the intoxicating aroma of fragrant jerk smoke into the air. The smell alone had my mouth watering and the long line of people at just around 5pm on a Friday night had my confidence at an all time high! The menu offers jerk chicken, pork, and ribs in a few sizes (small, medium, large, half catering pan and full catering pans too) and whole chickens and racks of ribs as well. That's it. Everything is served chopped up into bite size (bone-in for chicken and ribs) pieces with two slices of white bread. Not understanding the portion sizes, I had a lot of questions. The guy in the window (maybe Chef Tally?) was quick and curt with his replies, but ultimately very helpful leading to me ordering a large pork, chicken and ribs for 5 adults. To give you an idea of the size, a large is a standard to go box filled to the brim with the meat of your choice. If I had to guess it weighed more than a few pounds! Hands down the favorite was the ribs. They were juicy, packed with that jerk spice and lightly seasoned with the smoke. The chicken and pork were close seconds, but they were both a little dry. If you're a first timer, I'd highly suggest getting a combo of all three meats with a side of ribs because you'll definitely want more of those! I wish they served a few sides to go with the meat because veg is definitely required. Our work around was to find another Caribbean restaurant nearby... review to follow!

The jerk pork and spare ribs was good. A little more flavor would make thud a hit. The service was good and the cashier either very fast.
