Chefs Warehouse - Review - CBD - Cape Town - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a really special dinner but want to stay in the City Bowl (the center of town), Chefs Warehouse is the best spot. This place lands somewhere between a tasting menu and small plates restaurant, serving eight shared dishes across three courses for two people to split for R800 (a convoluted math problem that works out to $25 a person). They don’t take reservations, so it’s best to show up around 5:30pm, put your name down before they close the list (which can be as early as 6pm in the summer), then wait it out at their bar next door, No Reservations, or at Gigi’s Rooftop Bar a few blocks away." - Dana Alloy

We love fine dining and were excited to go there as it was recommended highly. Sadly it lead to disappointment. The food was nicely presented but was not of as high.quality as expected for the price. We had the tasting menu, to point out is a dish that had variations of cheese with steak, the tuna appetizer and the risotto Good but not crazy special was the pork belly Disappointing was the lamb, kingklip, dumpling. I would not go there again, in cape Town you find much better quality for a better value. Sadly.

Chef’s Warehouse on Bree Street is a fantastic spot for a relaxed but memorable meal. The tapas-style plates are seasonal, creative, and absolutely delicious, with plenty of excellent vegetarian options. The cocktails are well crafted and the wine list is impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and parking nearby was easy to find — always a bonus.

We visited Chefs Warehouse & Canteen Cape Town on a friend’s recommendation — and it turned out to be an excellent tip. We were welcomed warmly, which immediately set the tone for a great evening. All the dishes on the menu looked and tasted fantastic, making it genuinely difficult to decide what to order. A special thanks to Nozuko, who helped us wonderfully throughout the evening. The Vermentino wine she suggested was delicious and paired perfectly with the food. To finish, we had the Pleez Daddy dessert with cotton candy a fun and tasty ending to a memorable meal. Highly recommended if you're in Cape Town and looking for great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful, the wines were great. The service was top notch - the tasting menu was simply perfect. Best quality meal we’ve had - such a reasonable price also. The service was the best we’ve had - it was our first meal in Cape Town so thought this was the standard but it exceeded all other places. I would go again and again and is the highlight of our stay in Cape Town for sure. Memorable experience to last a lifetime - thank you.

We had a lovely meal. I can’t say it’s my favourite Chefs Warehouse in terms of complex and innovative flavours. However, presentation was lovely and waiters were extremely attentive. The spring dessert (banana crème patisserie, passion fruit and berries) was my favourite dish.

Had the most incredible tapas here last night. Every dish was meticulous, creative, and delicious. Perfect little plates that somehow all hit differently. Amazing atmosphere, great service, and food. 10/10 dinner spot.

First time at CW and it was great. Tried the tasting menu as part of Restaurant week. Big variety to choose from (pork belly and kingklip stood out🤤), the service was good with regular check ins from the waiter and other staff. The atmosphere lits up once the floor gets busy. Will definitely see us again😉

Enjoyable evening out! We joined for the restaurant week special as the menu stood out from the rest. I had higher hopes for the food and found the spices and seasoning overpowering in every course. The service was impeccable and as they evening went on, the vibe picked up a bit.
