Chelita's Homemade Ice Cream

Delicious place to have desert! Their ice cream is homemade ! Aside from ice cream, shakes, smoothies; they have corn on the cob (elote). Mangoneadas, Dorilocos, Chicharon prepared (con cueritos ), Guacamole &Chips. Friendly staff! I will definitely be a regular customer!

Such a wonderful little gem in the neighborhood. Ice cream tastes incredibly fresh and there's a great selection available. You can taste test beforehand and the scoops are generous. ☺️ Can't wait to try a new flavor next time.

I heard about Chelita's recently opening and decided to check it out. I was thrilled: this is the real deal, one of the best ice cream places I've been to (actually, I'm scratching my head if I can remember ever having better). Not only is the quality, flavor, and service great, but they have lots of variety, including some unusual flavors (to me at least), with some using South American tropical fruits you never find in the States, or others with a little bit of spice added. The Key Lime Pie flavor—a delicious blend of tartness, sweetness, creaminess, and crumbliness—is in a league all its own. Go, you won't be disappointed, this is better even than really good neighborhood "homemade" ice-cream places you remember from your favorite summer spot when you were a kid. It's worth a trip for anyone in the Chicagoland area, not just NW siders!

Another mom and pop ice cream shop that caters to locals. Everything is fresh and they have some fun street food style fare, nothing amazing to define the place but everything is still pretty good. I wouldn't drive out of my way to visit the place but if I was in the area and didn't want to travel extra I would stop by.

Worst mangoneadas I've ever had 🤮🤮🤮 I thought I gave it a try since they're closer to home, but I rather drive to La Michoacana on Lawrence next time I'm in the mood for real Icecream. $21.46 gone to the trash!!!

I really love coming here! Excellent ice cream and other delicious food items! I've been waiting for a place like this to open up near us. Keep up the awesome job!
