Yelp
It is very difficult to Yelp a football club since many of us have a strong affinity for one club or another. Probably passed down to us by our dads. We moved to London from Panama in 1966 and shortly there after, my dad took me to my first game at the bridge. It was a marvelous experience. Let's move 40 years forward. I live in Texas now and got a chance to make my first trip back. It was a glorious time. We stayed at the hotel next door to pitch and had a wonderful stay. We arrived on a very sad day, it was shortly after the King of Stamford Bridge, Peter Osgood, passed away. I was so taken back by the outpouring of love from the fans with the make shift memorial, it set the tone for our whole week at the bridge. One item I would highly recommend is the Stadium Tour. The guide was extremely informative and quite humorous. We stayed behind in the museum for at least an hour, checking out all the wonderful items on display. On game day, I was able to meet some old Chelsea legends in the hotel, and they all were very gracious and friendly. Since I am a true blue, despite living in the US, tickets were not a problem for us, and our seats were fantastic. We had great fans around us who sang with us and even taught us some new songs I had forgotten. The Megastore had many bargains, and we filled almost half a suitcase with gear to bring back home. Outside the stadium, before the game, there was a plethora of stands with pins, scarfs and shirts galore which we had fun looking bargaining for trinkets. The So Bar transforms itself into a Chelsea Fan's paradise will locals singing and getting a drunk on before the game starts. If you are traveling to the Bridge, just outside Fulham Broadway tube there is a kebab stand which rocked! We had a great day out, and it helped that we happened to win that day. As a Chelsea fan, the Bridge is glorious. If you support someone else, I'm sure you feel the same about your hallowed ground.
