The older lady isn't there anymore. It sucks now. She made the cake in the second picture, the new owner made the first cake. It was terrible! We literally tasted nothing! Save the disappointment and DON'T GO HERE!

If I could give it 0 stars I would! Horrible quality. Spent $130 for cupcakes and a cake for kids’ birthday party and they looked like a 8 yr old decorated them and they tasted horrible. The writing on the cake was barely legible. My sons cake was supposed to be red and white…..it was dark pink, light pink, and purple. The guy there said he was only taking cake orders because everyone was on vacation. It looked like it had closed. Definitely not what I was used to from there. Completely ruined the party because I was so upset!

Impeccable customer service. The owner was so personable! My son along with his guests at his birthday party LOVED his cake!! It was so DELICIOUS and moist! His cake was ready on time! I had absolutely no problems with this bakery!!!

We bought our goodies at the Farmington Farmer's Market. Everything was so tasty!

I order cup cakes with Pokémon on 4/14/23 and when I pick my order up on Sunday 4/16/23 the cup cakes was very hard they did what they wanted to do it was nuthin Pokémon on the cupcakes some was different sizes it was very horrible

I've been using Chene bakery for years. I guess they're under new management and the cakes are horrible! My cake looked like a 5 year old decorated it and it taste awful! Please close. That beautiful lady that took great pride in her work is no longer there. 😭

First, I have a lot of trouble believing Jazzy C.'s claim that there was mold on her food or that the donuts were bad. I have made hundreds of trips to this bakery (I live a few blocks away from it) and never seen anything even remotely unsanitary in the place. They do really good business and have been in business for decades. You don't get to stay in business that long if your product is that bad. In reality, their baked goods are top-notched and their staff are consummate professionals.

I am pissed! I have been using this bakery, off and on, for 20+ years and this is the first time that I have had a terrible experience with them. I ordered my cake on Thursday, 5/25 for it to be ready for pick-up on Saturday, 5/27 at 6 p.m. However, it was not ready until after 7 p.m. The design on the cake is NOT, AT ALL, what I ordered. The colors are not coordinated. (I requested green, yellow and white colors and cheerleader decorations to match the picture of my daughter that was to be placed on the cake.) The icing was not smooth. It looked as if kindergartners decorated the cake. Some of the lettering on the cake was faded and uneven. When my son told the guy that the cake was not what I requested, he went on to say that the person that normally does them was out of town. That is not an excuse for poor quality! I just cannot believe what the finished product looked like. (I attached a picture. See it for yourselves.) Even though this is my first horrible experience with them. I will not be ordering from them again. I forgot to mention that there was another family there to pick up a cake. They, too, complained about their cake AND their cake was supposed to be ready at 2 p.m. AND it was after 7 when their cake was available for them.

This small, polish bakery appears to serve authentic polish treats ranging from cookies, cakes, donuts, and breads! Pros: the donuts tasted decent, affordable prices, and they had some covid preventative measures taken place like plexiglass and masked workers Cons: the donuts were cold (I know that most donuts won't be warm and fresh-out-of-the-fryer but these donuts were actually cold), the worker there wasn't too friendly (not rude but not that pleasant) Would I come back? Probably not but then again, perhaps I needed to try something other than the donuts!

The best of the best of the best. Hands down Janiece is the best baker ever. I go in there some mornings to get my co workers a dozen glaze donuts and me and my boss like the glaze with the chocolate on top. She's very patient, polite and courteous. I will highly recommend this bakery. I use this bakery for all my holiday needs.

I purchased a birthday cake for my husband. The cake was fine, but the frosting didn't have a taste. I took the cake back and the person didn't even try to make it right, nor give me a refund. She told me to take my cake and go some where else. Their customer service was awful. I've never been disappointed with a cake in all my life. Chene bakery is Not a bakery worthy of serving customers.

So why you drive all the way to Hamtramck when this place be in Warrendale which was 2nd largest Polish community for many decades. The bakery began in the 1930s on Chene Street in Detroit's old Poletown, then moved a couple decades later -- along with its name -- to a newer, growing Polish neighborhood on the edges of Warrendale. Cakes are dry and nasty. Honestly I've made better box cakes. She made my son birthday cake. I called her about an hour after picking up the cake to let her know the birthday was upset because it was dry and nasty and she didn't care at all. I will never support her again.

Terrible place. Saturday, bought cherry strudel and some donuts, the strudel had mold bad on the bottom, 2 of the 6 donuts were hard as a rock. Live far from the bakery, used to go there when I was kid and decided to stop in because I passed it. Called the owner on Monday to report it and ask for refund, she said bring it back! Really..........gonna spend $6.00 in gas on a $6.00 strudel? Told her I lived an hour away and was going to call the Health Dept. she said do it! So, I reversed the charge on the credit card and called the Health Dept. Maybe she'll care next time. Stay away from this place!

The cake I got vs what I asked for. Super disappointed. Was too embarrassed to even put the cake out. It was kept in the back & cut before guest saw it. Ice was put under the cake which caused it to be uneven & the cake to shift. $125 down the drain. Won't be back!

My rating is strictly on customer service. I called and asked if they any chocolate cakes they stated they had a "HALF CHOCOLATE half vanilla" 8inch round cake. I paid for it and informed them I'd pick it up at 5pm. Later that night my dad cut the entire cake to find out it was ALL VANILLA. The next day I called to inform them of the mistake, the response I received was "I don't know what to tell you". What kind of customer service is that.?!?! The first thing should've been an apology. She then said "well what do you want me to do?" I simply informed her of her poor customer service and stated "a better way to go about this should've been to at least offer a partial refund, a credit, or maybe even a few donuts or cookies on the them." My family has been going to this bakery for YEARS.!!!!!!! We will not patronize them anymore. And I'll make sure to NEVER recommend them. Especially since they have a fly problem in the summer anyway.!

This my favorite bakery and has been for years I always get my cakes kids cakes and family and friends cakes they are delicious and moist

Right now all I am thinking is PACZKI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love them! and their Angel Wings too! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worth the trip every time!

They made my wedding cake for my wedding on May 24th and did an excellent job. You wouldn't believe the compliments that I received. I visited several bakeries in the metro-Detroit area and I received a myriad of prices that were close to $1,000. We saved so much money here and didn't sacrifice quality. I ended up here by the recommendation of my God mother and I am so glad she referred this bakery. Our cake was made fresh and tasted great!! Hand delivered by the owner and it was absolutely beautiful. I didn't experience a single issue and Janice was more than helpful and very creative, not to mention nice.

Have to agree with Frank. I live right down the street & go here all the time. Never had any issue like Jazzy is claiming. Old style neighborhood bakery. Been going here for years. Best doughnuts in town!

This bakery is a little slice of heaven (pun intended). It's had the same owners and awesome pastries since I was a little girl. When I was stationed overseas I use to dream about the pillowy sugar donuts and carmel cake. After a tour in Iraq, I stopped by the bakery and although the owner didn't remember me she was so warm and gracious. She made me feel great and even thanked me for my service!

This place is really good the caramel cake is the best I ordered it for my birthday last year and this year I have had cake donuts and they were so good the pound cake is to die for and the price is so affordable try this bakery and you won't be mad.

The best bakery around. They have been making cakes for decades for our family. I wouldn't trust anyone else to make them.
