Most of the food was great: egg rolls weren't over fried like most places, chicken fingers were huge thin battered thick cuts of delicious white meat, but the BBQ pork didn't hit the mark for me. Overall, a solid choice to snag some Chinese food if in the area.

Google
I ordered the D10 Chicken with Mixed Veggie Combo. Very quick service. Chicken/Veggie portion was excellent. My side of crab rangoons was not bad. The texture felt very homogenized, like it was puréed, but it tasted good. My other side of pork fried rice was also pretty good, but it could use more pork/veggies. Satisfied overall. Will return.

Google
This was my first and last visit here. Unfortunately, this place, which has a 4.5 star average, has seen its hayday and I'm sorry I missed it. I got the General chicken combo. It was very dry, the rice also had a two or three day old feel and taste to it. It came with an egg roll while it was crunchy as I have read, it completely lacked flavor. The price for the wife and I was around $30. Complete waste of money as we now have to find another place to eat. This post pandemic world has changed most of the Chinese restaurants I've seen. No more sitting in restaurant and with the quality of food I now see why. Please take pride in your work you are feeding the public.

Google
Delivery was fast and quick. Crab Rangoon is too sweet and not enough crab. General Gaos chicken is overly sweet. Fried rice is skimpy on the add ins but does include decent sized pieces of meat.

Google
Gave it a try and I will be a regular customer here. The food is sooooo good. As someone who loves Chinese and lived in Cali and Texas, this place did not disappointed me.

Google
When the food actually looks like the photos above the menu you know you have a very very good restaurant. I left out of there still feeling like I owe them money for how good their food was. I will definitely go back there.

Google
I've been going here for years. They do takeout only. It is a small family-owned restaurant. Some of the lower reviews I feel are rather pretentious. This is a Bare Bones quality takeout restaurant without the Razzle Dazzle of larger locations. This is by far the best Chinese food in the area. I've never had a bad meal here. And for my money the Yang Chow fried rice is the best I've had.

Veggie fried rice for the win! Yummy, hot & fresh….Merry Christmas!

Yelp
I used Yelp Of course to check it out after 15 years in the area i know I just assumed incorrectly lol Anyway i figured I'd give it a shot the reviews were great on Yelp I just always went to Chang Yang Li Bedford It was always outstanding but i didn't want to drive to Bedford So i again i checked Yelp and ordered away with Cheng Du I thought it was great the Low Mein I think of myself as somewhat who could live lo Mein alone I love it it's my gauge to determine if I'm going to proceed with the establishment or pass So then as i often do is to ask for extra something whether that be Soy sauce Hit mustard or my addiction Duck sauce now at Chang Yang they make their own Duck sauce it's good and i always ask for a bucket lol which is never an issue So of course i asked at Cheng Du and she one of the owners there a married couple great people no problem and sometimes i ask for extra fortune cookies just love them again no problem To me the only difference in the 2 is not certainty the quality of the food both are very good but in seating as you can't sit down at Cheng like you can at Chang Yang So after this novel lol i think they are super and im trying something new almost weekly now with Cheng Du So bottom line is they are good quality establishments of course the menus are quite different Well I hoped this helped in someway Chow for now Steve Gator D

Yelp
We had been searching Manchester for a decent Chinese place for a bit now and decided to look on yelp the reviews here were pretty decent so we took a chance we got a pretty easy order pu pu for 3 ordered there waited about 20 min that's fine The food was really good not excellent but will be back to try other items Will recommend
google avatar

Yelp
If sad were a Chinese restaurant, this would be it. Ordered a pu pu for 1 tonight with some dumplings--$30 plus worth of food. There was something really rancid about my egg roll, inedible, to say the least. The chicken wing was fried to absolute death. Dumplings were absolutely drenched in oil. Rice was tasty, as were chicken fingers and crab Rangoons. The Saddest protein portions I have ever seen. I'd hate to review a place that seems like a mom and pop restaurant, but it's hard to ever come back here again.

Yelp
Ordered a Large Shrimp with vegetables, to go. The food was very good, a lot of shrimp, sauce was good not overpowering the shrimp. The side of rice added to the meal. Orange sauce was excellent, obviously made there, quite good. Plenty of food for lunch, for me a nice alternative from a sandwich or burger. Will be back.

Yelp
I ordered lunch from there today and was very disappointed. I had the chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The sauce on the chicken tasted as if it was missing a key ingredient but I'm not sure what that was. Except for the sauce the chicken and broccoli meat and veggie didn't taste bad.The egg roll tasted old and as if it had been precooked, left to sit and then reheated? The fried rice looked and tasted old. The meat was gross as if it was old and the rice had a strange taste to it. I have ordered from here before a few times and it has always been good. But not today. I'm not sure if I would ever get food from them again it was that bad.

Joyce F.

Yelp
I picked up 2 dinner specials. The egg roll wasn't crispy, but soggy because of the steam from the rice. It should be packaged separately. I got chicken with vegetables. I didn't like the sauce and neither did my adult son. I won't go back there.

Yelp
Okay to get your fix, but the hot and sour soup was a 5/10. Too many mushrooms, no bamboo shoots, and spice/flavor didn't hit. White gurl comfortably ate it. Will give it another shot.

Yelp
I first started going to Chang Du Kitchen about a year and a half ago when I moved to a new apartment in Hooksett. I live in Henniker now and still go to it for my Chinese food. I love this place I always get my usual shrimp lo mein and 2 egg rolls. Also made fantastically and tastes amazing. The service is good and always kind and respectful to me. Price is good as well. You definitely get the amount and taste you pay for.

Yelp
Ordered for the first time - beef lo main- it was TO DIE FOR!! My Co works and I will be return happy customers!! Recommend this place 10/10!!!!

Yelp
This is a great Chinese Restaurant.. They only offer takeout and delivery, through different delivery services. They keep a clean store and are very friendly.. They have a typical Chinese Food menu.. We always order their Singapore Street Noodle, Shrimp Fried Rice and two Egg Rolls.. Their kitchen is clean and they have good hygiene. You won't regret eating from here.. They deserve your business.. Let them earn your return visit.

Ashleigh D.

Yelp
Best Chinese takeout, their crab rangoon is the best of the many places I've tried and their chicken teriyaki is my go-to ! Honestly don't want Chinese food if it's not from Cheng Du Kitchen lol
google avatar

Rich D.

Yelp
Typical Chinese food but better. We had the gyoza, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken and broccoli. Above average, but not mind blowing, just good
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
Horrible food. Beef and veggies: beef was ALL fat, veggies limp. Pork fried rice: no flavor. Egg rolls: no flavor. Threw it all away.

Charli B.

Yelp
Best Chinese food I've had. 10/10. Crab rangoons were a little flat but besides that everything is always super tasty. General Tso is the literally the best ever
google avatar

Jasmine H.

Yelp
Great take-out option; it's not top of the line gourmet. For that, shoot down to Boston I hear. But for typical weeknight, tasty "Chinese" this place is just fine. Nice service with plenty of parking. It's the end unit of a small plaza. My son likes their Peking ravioli.
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
A cr@ckhead was yelling at me outside the front door for a ride so I came in very upset lmao. Poor kid at the front has probably seen that many times already. Anyways. Crab rangoons were pretty good. My second favorite in Manchester.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
The food from Chen du, was excellent. This the third time we ordered from them. The food as delicious and generous portions. Quick easy ordering.the driver was spot on. I would recommend them and good Chinese food!!
google avatar

Molly B.

Yelp
I am surprised and delighted to say that Cheng Du Kitchen was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend trying this place out! The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious and the service is spot on! Great job Cheng Du Kitchen! Kudos to you!

Stephen B.

Yelp
I have been ordering from here since I moved to Hooksett and it's been really good. Haven't been disappointed yet. The only thing is the little boy that works the register, he seems bothered. Not sure if he'd rather be playing video games but he helps pay customers out.
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
Ordered a lunch combo meal today. General Tsao's chicken, pork fried rice and crab Rangoon, only $7.25. Good portion. Crab Rangoon was cooked perfectly as well as the general tsao's chicken, tender chicken inside a crispy tempura coating. Fried rice was tasty and not greasy at all. Will order from here again.

Yelp
Found my new go-to for Chinese food in NH. Cheng Du Kitchen is mostly a takeout restaurant - it only has 5 tables with 4 chairs at each table. It is a small, mom-and-pop restaurant. I think the pop works the kitchen and the mom handles the front and takes all the takeout orders. I love the convenience of being able to place my order online. They have a pretty big menu filled with Americanized Chinese food as well as authentic Chinese food. I saw the salt & pepper fried squid and the salt & pepper fried shrimp on the menu and knew I had to try this place out. Both dishes were pretty good especially for the price! Nothing spectacular but fried well with a good ratio of batter to protein. The steamed shrimp dumplings AKA hargow were pretty solid as well so if you're looking to partially satisfy your dimsum cravings they have decent hargow. The Szechuan spicy wontons were meh...the sauce was a little too tart for me so I probably won't get it again. But Cheng Du definitely has my business for my salt & pepper friend squid and shrimp cravings!
google avatar

Beth G.

Yelp
I just tried Cheng Du for the first time and wow!! Delicious, fresh and full of flavor!' No fat on the meat, everything was well seasoned and cooked. Pork fried rice is delicious too! Definitely a lot of care goes into the cooking here!!!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
As usual consistently awesome. The shrimp dumplings are amazing..shrimp in garlic sauce is so good. Crab rangoons outstanding. This is a family run business and they work hard! There are so many amazing things to choose from. Homemade! So good.
google avatar

Kaleigh W.

Yelp
I got lo mien, rice, crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup, and general tso's chicken. All the food was delicious. My new favorite restaurant!!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
We recently moved to New Hampshire and I'm so happy to have finally found an excellent Chinese food restaurant! They are friendly and their food is consistently yummy. We love to order the chicken lo mein and orange chicken. The crab ragoons are good too.
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing fancy but a good place to stop and get quick flavorful dinner. We ordered the steamed dumplings which I am a fan of. It does not look or taste like the frozen thick dumplings you get from other Chinese restaurants. I am a super fan of spicy food as I have grown up with spicy Southeast Asian food all my life. The spicy dumplings and the Ma Po Tofu are not for those who like it mild or even medium. Beware, it can catch you by surprise. In addition, we also ordered the beef broccoli. The flavor was good, the vegetables still have crunch and the right amount of sauce. All in all, good food, have a little patience for food made to order, reasonable prices and try something new on the menu.

Alyssa B.

Yelp
Dont come here unless you want to wait a long time. Ordered for a 545 pickup. It's been 45 minutes and we still haven't gotten our food. Update: food was decent. We ordered crab rangoons, chicken and broccoli dinner, pu pu for one and beef lomain. Crab ragoons probably would have been better if they were hot and the chicken wing that came in the pu pu was so greasy we couldn't eat it. Everything else was fine.
google avatar

Katelyn D.

Yelp
My food came cold. All of it because the person was 40 minutes late. I also now don't feel well. My stomach has been hurting since I ate the food and bathroom trips keep happening.

Autumn C.

Yelp
My family and I ordered grubhub from here tonight since our favorite chinese restaurants are mysteriously closed. We wanted steamed chicken and mixed vegetables, simple and healthy, right? I guess Cheng Du kitchen thought it would be acceptable to send us an entire container of ONLY VEGETABLES. There was not even a single piece of chicken. I re-checked my order to make sure it wasn't a mistake I had made, and It wasn't. I did indeed order the steamed chicken with mix veg. Anyway, the meal was $29 for a half pound of vegetables and white rice, and a singular spring roll. Ridiculous. Luckily got a refund on what was supposed to be chicken. The white rice was pretty good. The spring roll was spicy?? Don't order from here, or if you do, pick- up and check the food to make sure it's right before leaving.
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
Amazing ragoons and authentic egg foo young! But the hot and sour soup needs work. It was just eggdrop with hot sauce in it... I was disappointed because I ordered a large tub of it (I am sick) when I'm sick I love to just live off hot and sour soup... not this time. I through it away. But everything else is good that we've tried!
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Crab ragoons are friggin awesome. Took a little over an hour to get our food- but it was Friday night and well worth the wait. The price is right and the employees were great!
google avatar

Deb L.

Yelp
Amazing - most flavorful and delicious Chinese food I've ever had. Really good size portions at a really good price. I stopped by to get dinner for my family of 4. We ordered a Pupu platter, chicken chowmein, chicken fried rice, General Taos, and chicken egg foo young. I took the order to go, and in about 15 minutes I was handed a very heavy, happy face bag FULL of food. When I got home with the food, I was pleasantly surprised that everything was there including all condiments and napkins! The food was hot and delicious and my family happily devoured it all, while constantly commenting on how much they were enjoying it. By morning there were no leftovers. I will be back in again!
google avatar

Z S.

Yelp
I ate here for the first time yesterday. I ordered the mini pu pu platter. It wasn't great, but wasn't bad. Food came out hot and fresh. Had to wait about 30 mins. I was the only one there. 3 outta 5 stars is the best I could give.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Ok, this place is getting a bad rap here in Yelp land, and, having just had an awful experience with another Chinese place, I'm posting my slightly modified original review of this place from 2010 (which was removed when the restaurant changed names from Wah Tong). I order from here about once every couple months and, sure, the food is nothing spectacular, but it is consistent and the service is fast (especially takeout) Over the past couple of years, I've had their wonton soup, crab rangoon, steamed dumplings, shrimp fried rice, veggie/chicken/shrimp/house lo mein, sesame chicken, chicken and beef teriyaki (personal favorite), kung pao chicken, general tso's chicken, etc, etc. The food is good quality and not overly greasy (though the lo mein can be sometimes). The sesame chicken was spicy which was unexpected, but had excellent flavor and the perfect amount of breading (you could actually taste the large chunks of white meat chicken!) Prices are comparable to other chinese restaurants in the area. They have a $20 minimum for dinner delivery and a $1 delivery charge. If you live in the Manchester/Hooksett area, give 'em a shot.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in New Hampshire, greatest crab rangoons we've ever tasted! Very friendly either over the phone or in person for pick up, and always a fast delivery!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Prices are good but you get what you pay for. Moo shi beef was pretty good but not great. General Gau's chicken didn't taste like general gaus at all. It reminded me of Chinese buffet food. There are better options in Manchester. Probably wouldn't eat here again.
google avatar

Vanessa W.

Yelp
I like how you can order online now. I've been a customer of cheng du for years and have always enjoyed their food. I'm huge fan of their scallion pancakes, won ton soup and vegetable spring rolls. I just wish there were more wontons in the soup.
google avatar

Ethan D.

Yelp
I wish I could say something good about it other than the delivery was fast and courtious. But thats it I ordered off the diner combo the L11 (Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Rice and Eggroll) we also got Chicken Wings and Peking Dumplings My Wife got the Beef with Broccoli both were really bad neither of us could finish our meal it was very greasy to an allmost slimy point the Chicken wings looked like they had been plucked and not cleaned then thrown in a fryer the kung pao had no real flavor to it and the chicken tasted stringy and fatty then the Beef and broccoli the broccoli seemed like it had been over cooked on the florets then the stems felt raw needles to say I will not go there again
google avatar

Abby H.

Yelp
I'd say of all the Chinese restaurants around the Hooksett/South Hooksett area, this is probably the best. I love their scallion pancakes (and the sauce they make for dipping is incredible) and the teriyaki is delicious.
google avatar

Deacon D.

Yelp
This is the most disgusting food. The chicken was slimy. The curry was pasty and grainy. The dumpling almost made me throw up. If I had not ordered this as a delivery item I would send it back. Eat here at your own risk.
google avatar

Nickie L.

Yelp
I ordered my salt and pepper shrimp. Great flavor big shrimps too. I also ordered their house steam dumplings. This is my go to place for authentic Chinese off their real chinese menu. Never disappointed and they added cute bright decor. Nice and clean in there too. They also have great pho!
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
I was nervous about ordering delivery from here as I've never had anything delivered other than Domino's. It was super simple and the friendly employee was here within half an hour. I couldn't be more pleased. On top of that the food was tasty and hot. I'm picky about Chinese food and nothing in my order disappointed me. I would definitely order from here again.
google avatar

Cassie M.

Yelp
Wish I read the reviews they were dead on except the fast delivery. I honestly felt I'll afterwards and I never complain about food. It was good for about 5 minuets then I needed to throw the rest out. The spare ribs were all I could handle highly disappointed.

Rich R.

Yelp
So I tried this place as my usual was closed Fist off let me say I am only posting here because I went to the website and there is no way to contact them there then I noticed all the reviews were 6 starts so I scratch my head and then see oh there is not way to add a review so they must do that. So about the food very disappointing ordered a pu pu for 1 with extra wings no chicken fingers they removed the fingers but didn't add the extra wings the Rangoon were mostly wrap the egg roll was nothing but cabbage and the boneless ribs were were tiney overcook strips. I also ordered sweet and sour chicken and what I got was a bunch of chicken fingers (over breaded) some mushy sticky white rice and some red sauce to poor on it not cherries or pineapples in sight so I could have accepted this and moved on without this review if only it was priced for what I got but in fact it was more expensive then my regular place that severs food that's actually yummy
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
The food is really good and it's priced relatively well and it isn't too expensive for what you are getting. Portion sizes are really big and you get your monies worth. Only down side is that it takes awhile for them to make it and deliver it to you if you get delivery. They also have $20 min charge before they will deliver it to you. I think that is kinda high bc it takes a lot to get to that price. But other than that, I love the food! I would deff order again!

Shandra P.

Yelp
I hadn't been in 10 years and I was excited to go back... It looked and smelled amazing. It was anything but. The chicken fingers tasted like they had been fried in oil that was very very very old. I got the "SevenStar" and it tasted like old fish. Up side- amazing crab rangoon!
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
We ordered from here for the first time and it was phenomenal! The prices were great, the customer service and delivery time were spot on, and most importantly the food was awesome! By far the best Chinese food experience we've had in a long time!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Ordered delivery for the first time. Didn't like the $20min but we're gonna have left overs all week. The food took a while to get delivered but it was steaming hot and fresh. Decent Chinese food. Not too greasy. The scallion pancakes were awesome!
google avatar

Courtney M.

Yelp
Food is delicious, and im a big asian food person, although you usually get a little less than typical Chinese food place. Love that they deliver, except today, they lose a star cause I went to order today and no delivery. Boyfriend still at work and not dragging the baby out. :( hopefully it's just the day and not a trend.
