Chenin Restaurant

The food looks fancy and pricey, but every dish we ordered was overly salty and almost inedible. We ordered cheesecake! We barely could eat because it was super oily and you can see the oil falling out on the dish! The atmosphere is nice for dinner with friends, though it was quite noisy. We were seated on the second floor. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The waiters were not very friendly and seemed unable to speak Thai. Their English was also very limited, and it felt like they didn’t fully understand us. We ordered several dishes, but one of them took an unusually long time to arrive. It seemed like the order had been forgotten. We decided to cancel that dish and asked the waiter to check whether it was already being prepared. If not, we wanted to cancel it. The waiter disappeared, and later the dish we wanted to cancel was served anyway. When I insisted on canceling it, they said it was not possible. They begged us to accept it, explaining that they were working very hard and were busy, with only two staff members on duty. I explained that this was not our fault, as we had clearly asked them to check and they never came back. I then asked to speak with the manager. The waiter said the manager was off that night, but I clearly saw the manager walking around, which made the situation even more frustrating. I have visited this restaurant twice, but this time I was very unimpressed with both the food and the service.

We went to Chenin after hearing a lot about it and seeing it all over social media. The atmosphere was genuinely nice with dim lighting and a casual, relaxed vibe that works well for date nights. We ordered the Parmesan crackers with sweet chilli dip as an appetizer, and they were a good start. For our mains, we went with their best selling flatbread and a pasta to share. The Cheese City flatbread looked great but was very average in taste. It lacked depth and flavor, and I ended up asking for hot sauce just to give it some life. The pasta we had was the Chifferini Rigati. The flavor profile was decent, but the execution was disappointing. It felt like the pasta and sauce were placed on a tray and baked without being boiled properly. Some pieces were soft while most were noticeably undercooked, which completely threw off the dish. For dessert, we tried the Basque cheesecake, which was the highlight of the meal and definitely better than the mains. Overall, the ambiance was nice but the food did not match the hype, and the prices were not justified for what we got. We would not go back.

If you are looking for a chic spot with a vibrant atmosphere and attentive service, Chenin is a solid choice, though it comes with a premium price tag. ​The Atmosphere & Service ​The restaurant has a great vibe—modern, intimate, and bustling. The tables aren't particularly large, so it feels cozy (perhaps a bit tight for some), and booking in advance is absolutely essential. ​One of the highlights of the night was the service. The staff are excellent; they speak fluent English and are incredibly proactive, ensuring water glasses are topped up throughout the meal without having to ask. ​Baby Cos Salad: This was the standout of the evening. It was flavorful, well-executed, and highly recommended. ​ ​Value for Money & Parking ​This is where the experience becomes a bit more "boutique." The food is undoubtedly good, but it does feel overpriced for the portion sizes. On top of the menu prices, be prepared for a 10% service charge. ​Parking Tip: If you are driving, there is valet parking available at the nearby OFTR Bar for a flat fee of 100 Baht.

As a carb and flavorful food lover, this place is heaven! Their Cheese City flatbread gets all the hype, but my personal favorite is the Reverse Nippon. It has a perfect balance of spice and sweetness that cuts the richness of the cheese and bread. The Baby Cos salad is another must-try. It loaded with cheese yet beautifully balanced with orange or yuzu notes with lots of croutons🥰 For mains, I highly recommend the Grilled Branzino and Chicken Parmigiana. Both come with rich, flavorful sauces. Don’t skip dessert either. The Sticky Date Pudding and Cheesecake are both amazing! (Tip: I prefer having the olive oil on the side since the food itself is already quite rich.) I’m not a wine expert, but I randomly picked one the red wine (Castro Ventosa Joven) and absolutely loved it! If you’re into bold, comforting flavors, this place won’t disappoint!

One of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok. Their gourmet pizza is absolutely delicious, and the spaghetti alle vongole was truly wow (and I’m saying this as an Italian!) I’d only suggest going a bit lighter on the chili, as it can overpower the flavors. They also have an excellent selection of natural wines, and the service is kind, attentive, and professional. I can’t wait to come back. Tip: book in advance because they’re often fully booked. If you walk in, you might still get a spot at the counter, which is a nice option too.

Baby Cos has a subtle yuzu taste yum! Such a good twist! CHEESE CITY is bomb extremely soft and fluffy like a pillow. Cacio e Pepe is not bad, and the Lymache Rigate with vodka sauce is so rich and flavorful. Their dry-aged Wagyu prime ribs have a nice char to them perfectly done! I do wish they could improve the focaccia and fries those could definitely be better. Service also needs a bit of improvement since the staff aren’t Thai and struggle with English, which makes communication a little difficult. Overall though, the food stands out will definitely be back!

All dished is just so so. It’s not the special and overall overrated. Came here with a special occasion gathering with my friend but it’s turn out the most worst dining experience so far in Bangkok. All dishes are too salty. Very salty even I’m thai I love salty food. We sat on 2 floor of the restaurant. All staffs are not Thai all of communication were in English but it seems the staff cannot totally 100% understand and it was causing a mistake menu ordering. We insist that we ordering the chicken menu for main dish, my friends also heard that I’m order the chicken but Idk why they serve the pasta instead. It might be my fault that I didn’t concentrate when the staff confirm the menu. But they might have a better solution to change the menu for the mistaken one. The staff just insist that she’s not wrong. But somehow we feel that she might not good at English because we told her that we understand the situation but could she do something for us to change to menu? But she insist to let us ordering one more cuz it’s not her fault. Conclusion, not worth a visit. Terrible service mind staff. Can find many better places like this in bkk honestly.

I love Chenin, all of their dishes are fantastic! This is already my fifth visit this year and I’ve tried most of the items on the menu since it’s quite concise. Everything I’ve ordered has been excellent every single time. My favorites are their focaccias and you absolutely have to order the burrata to go with them. The cheese is beautifully milky and creamy, and it pairs perfectly with the warm bread.
