Found this restaurant - which is comparatively new to Kenton - on the JustEat website. We liked the fact that there was another vegetarian indian restaurant and take-away for us to try.
So tonight we thought we'd order our take-away from them. My husband phoned at 6.15pm and placed our order and was advised that they would deliver in a taxi (taxi, really? Can't they find delivery drivers?) and that our food would take about half an hour to arrive.
Three quarters of an hour later, we had a call from the "driver" to ask how to find us as "he has lost his satnav", and, when I attempted to give him directions, it was obvious he thought we were in another part of Harrow! A further half an hour later, when he arrived, my husband checked the food he'd brought to find it was stone cold and told him to take it back and get our money refunded to us.
Surely, any restaurant that has a delivery service should have drivers who have a working satnav - driver's excuse 'I've lost my satnav' isn't really acceptable. OK if you haven't got a working satnav there's such a thing as A-Z maps to use, or look up postcodes and addresses on Googlemaps? After all, what use is a taxi driver or delivery driver who can't find their way properly and in shortest time possible?
When my husband called the restaurant to speak to the manager and explain that he'd told the driver to take the food back, the manager's comment was "we cooked the food straight away". Maybe so, but if your driver takes an inordinate amount of time to find a delivery address, particularly as the food was just packed into plastic containers in a plastic carrier bag instead of something insulated to keep the food warm, then of course the food is going to be cold! The restaurant is a 15-20 minute drive from my home so the management need to re-think their delivery service. After working a 7 hour shift I was looking forward to a nice meal at home in front of the TV. Instead we traipsed out to Claye Chef for a meal instead which, although very nice, wasn't what I'd wanted after a long working day!
