Chen's Chinese Restaurant

I came here like a week ago to get some food it was absolutely disgusting my shrimp lo mein seemed like it was cooked to long the shrimp was also breaded which is confusing because nobody does that. I also got spring rolls and they tasted like they were dropped on the floor or found behind the refrigerator and then cooked and then served to me. Reason for the atmosphere rating being low is because after we ordered our food the girl at the counter started talking in her native language to another and then they both proceeded to turn and look at me but I was looking back so they avoided eye contact the remaining time I was there. That is very unprofessional and I will not be coming back here.

I am AMAZED at how good the food is. So much I’m writing review before finishing my meal. I called in takeout and a man named Benny answered. I didn’t know what to get so he talked me through options, ultimately recommending Szechuan Beef (I substituted normal veggies for onion). He said to trust him, so I did, and he was right because this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten in all my travels throughout America. I trusted him, so you can now trust me.

We stopped here to eat on a recommendation. I have to say they did NOT disappoint. The food was amazing, and so was the service and atmosphere. The food came out hot and fresh. I got the house special egg foo young, and my husband got the rice noodle dish. Our drinks were kept full, and the staff made sure we didn't need anything during our visit . I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for hot, fresh, delicious food . Thank you again, guys, for the wonderful service and food .

exceptional friendly service. the pictures are lunch beef and broccoli and general tso's chicken the meal starts with fresh spicy mustard and sweet and sour sauce from the fridge. I like that. Some table crispy chips pair well with the sauces. The beef and broccoli was really good according to my wife. The general tsos chicken has very crispy chicken, which I love. The sauce is awesome. I'm definitely coming back! lunch also comes with soup or egg or spring roll.

The shrimp fried rice was mushy, the shrimp was overcooked. The general Tso' chicken had a weird taste. And, unfortunately I could only get one size for that which was a large and also a waste of $30.

Food is really good and authentic. We loved the fried rice. The general tso’s shrimp is 10/10. The staff are very friendly. Overall our group had a great food here.

Chen's is my favorite Chinese restaurant in RVA! The food is always amazing, and the owner is so kind. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for Chinese food. Highly recommend it!

This was our first visit to Chen’s and we CANNOT believe that this gem is just minutes away from where we live! Upon arrival, we were sat immediately and greeted by who we believe is either the manager or owner of the place. It definitely felt like a “homey” establishment which we love! We started off with the pork dumplings and chicken egg rolls which were phenomenal. We inquired about the spicy & tangy dumplings but were unsure. While we were waiting for our food to our arrive, the owner let us try the spicy & tangy dumplings and they were to die for. Seriously, I will be dreaming about them tonight. We ordered the crispy general tso beef as our entree to split and it was amazing too! We were so full but couldn’t stop stuffing our faces because of how great all of the food was. I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor, go to Chen’s NOW!
