The 25 Best Restaurants In The Catskills 2024

"Cherries has s a food menu with kid-friendly classics like burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs, but you should not get back in your car without having at least one scoop of their small-batch ice cream. Classics like cookies and cream and cherry chocolate chunk are decadent and refreshing, and the rotating seasonal flavors like oat milk banana cookie inspire us to check back regularly. Cherries Ice Cream Bar & Grill Review - Stone Ridge - The Catskills - The Infatuation

"It would be easy to drive right past this little white roadside shack, but you should pull in the second you see the “Cherries” sign, complete with a swirl cone cutout. The 24 Best Restaurants In The Catskills 2024 - New York - The Infatuation

"Cherries is nothing more than a tiny deli by the side of the road, but don’t let its size fool you: This is maybe the best “deli” in all of Upstate New York. You’re here for one thing above all else: their ice cream. The small-batch hard ice cream comes in flavors like lavender honey blueberry and peanut butter cup, and their creamy soft serve is legendary. If you can’t decide whether to go for a scoop or a swirl, they also make a bullseye cup that has soft serve with a scoop of hard ice cream in the middle for maximum cold dessert inception.  The counter-service space with an attached covered patio also has a full menu of things that are exactly what you want to eat in the middle of your road trip (fantastic sandwiches, chicken tenders, and curly fries to name a few). The staff is so welcoming and patient!— it was a lovely stop by. I picked up some ice cream (mint and cookies + cream). It was good! More on the hard side and not “fresh” yet would recommend. I didn’t try anything else and everyone seemed to love it here! There was a line in 30-degree weather ;)

Absolutely FIRE 🔥 restaurant!! If you're in the area I highly recommend taking the time to stop at cherries, my burger 🍔 was fantastic & the soft serve ice cream is second to none , had the Parmesan cheese truffle oil fries with my meal and all this came in at around 20$ can't beat a deal like that!!!

Burgers are delish! This is a great pit stop for a meal or just ice cream. Plus at least three different healthy soda brands available 🥰 Indoor& outdoor seating available. 👍

Stopped by Cheeries Roadside for a quick treat and really enjoyed the visit! The place has a fun, welcoming vibe that makes it a great stop on a warm day. The staff were friendly and service was quick, which we appreciated. We tried the soft-serve ice cream—it was good and hit the spot, though nothing out of the ordinary. Just what you'd expect from a soft-serve machine: smooth, sweet, and satisfying, but not particularly unique. Still, the charm of the spot and the overall experience make it worth visiting, especially if you're in the mood for a casual roadside treat. Looking forward to coming back to try more from the menu!

This is a special place for me. When my mother was alive she would ask my father to take her for a ride. They would sometimes stop here for a snack. I recently drove by and it looked bigger and newer. I went in with a friend and I got a milk shake and he got a burger and fries with a milkshake. It was good. I loved the indoor space with a little trinket shop. It brought me back to the days when my son was a toddler and we would have loved a space like this to visit. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area and dog friendly. Other customers were also very nice and engaging in small talk. They are doing a great job and I wish them the best success. Keep up the good work.

The ice cream here is so good! They need a bigger parking lot because clearly people seek cherries out for some great ice cream and it’s always packed. We had a root beer float, soft serve chocolate on a cone, and two milkshakes. They were all so delicious! The cherry on top is the new store next door, great items for kids and a great place for adults to unwind and escape the heat! Don’t skip, check them out!

I had Larry’s Burger earlier today, and it was truly the best burger I’ve ever had. Perfectly caramelized patty on a soft roll, delicious aroma, and all the toppings were soooo good. I also loved the curly fries (they were crispy and not soggy, as can often happen with curly fries) and the Glampy Camper sundae I had was so tasty. The staff were also very nice and enthusiastic. Can’t wait to come back!

Update 8/22/24: Stopped by and had a burger that was wonderfully juicy and flavorful. French fries were abundant and the milkshake was yummy. They have a new indoor space that’s really nice. ****************************** Visited on the 2nd opening day after a major snowstorm in the area. The person at the window was so nice and friendly. Okay, I had the veggie burger, which was quite good. Next time, I'll add cheese and avocado, and switch out the gluten-free bun for a different one. It looks like they make their own veggie burger, as it doesn't look processed. The onion rings were nice and crunchy although I have to remember to get ranch dressing. The cookies and cream milkshake was creamy and just the right consistency to use a straw. May I add that I really like their takeout bag? Even though it's a bit of a drive for me, I plan to visit again when it's warmer and I can sit outside.
