I picked up a dry-aged ribeye that was pure perfection — deep, nutty flavor, buttery texture, and that beautiful dry-aged funk you can only get from true artisans. A must-visit for anyone serious about flavor and quality.

Quality of meat and customer service are top notch. I called to confirm and pay for my order before we headed over to pick it up. Turns out there’d been a miscommunication and sadly, I was less than gracious about it. Nick, the operations manager, on the other hand was extremely patience and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure things were made right. I highly recommend using this butcher.

I'm still reeling from my incredible experience at Cherry Block Craft Butcher & Texas Market in old Katy! As a Brazilian native, I know my meat, and this place exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with care and respect by the friendly staff, particularly Lindora, who was super polite and attentive. The variety of meats, including wild game options, was impressive, and the quality was top-notch. I purchased the picanha, which was buttery and hands-down the best I've had in the USA! The wine and seasoning selection was also impressive, and I loved the funny cups - a great touch! My only minor issue was with the 32-pound pork leg I purchased, which wasn't as fresh as I had hoped. The skin was quite hard, making it challenging for my mom to prepare, but the inside was delicious, juicy, and tender!! However, I'll definitely return and call ahead next time to request a fresher cut. You won me over with your exceptional customer service, vast selection, and commitment to quality. If you're a meat lover like me, do yourself a favor and visit this hidden gem. You won't be disappointed!

Katy’s greatest meat lovers “secret” is this Amazing butcher shop and Texas market. Felix Florez is the owner operator and he is a 7th generation Texan and Rancher, a gourmet chef and a Sommolier. What other institution can you get top of the line aged meats, local eggs, home made butter and sausage and have it paired with a 98 point Syrah? It’s hard to call yourself a foodie if you don’t frequent this place:-) very impressed.

Love supporting the local business of our Katy town. They know their meats and more.. they are supporting the community by sourcing their products from local farmers and artisans. My visit to Cherry Block Butcher was an absolute delight! The Denver beef was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor, making every bite a true treat. The jalapeño poppers were huge, perfectly prepared, and packed with just the right amount of spice and savoriness. It was hands-down the best lunch I’ve ever had! The welcoming atmosphere and top-notch quality have me eager to return. Highly recommend Cherry Block Butcher for an unforgettable experience!

Can't believe this is in our backyard! If you are looking for a great steak, fajitas or really any fresh food for dinner, check them out. I've been coming here for a while. Love it.

Place is friendly, good quality of meats and prices are good. Went a few times already, picked up some beef shanks and had them cut to any size I wanted. Very friendly staff

6/2024 Picked up a couple of filets and they were the most delicious cuts of meat I've had. I'll be back and they are the same price as HEB.

Hello my fellow Yelpers. I hope everyone is well and safe. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary of our first date 25 years ago this past Monday. Initially we wanted to find a good restaurant to go to but after discussing it, we decided to create the dining experience at home. We found out about Cherry Craft watching food network and we decided to try this place out as the reviews on Yelp and other sources are pretty good. The customer service experience was underwhelming at the very least. We walked the 600 or so sq ft about 3 times slowly and none of the employees even said hi to us let along asked could they help us. It was early on Sunday morning and it appears they were still setting up but at the very least they could have said " I will be with you in one moment. So we finally broke the ice and asked about the Tiger Shrimp, then after another moment of silence we asked about the steaks and finally, we got their attention. Mind you, the whole time we were there there was no more than 4 customers in the store, and we made up 2 of the customers. There were 2 young ladies in the front and one of the ladies could not answer any question we had, maybe she was new, who knows but the other lady was able to answers most of our questions. But she did not know answers to some critical questions such as, how long the beef has been dry aging, her answer was "I think around 60 days" not a good answer due to the time of dry aging is important, trust me we dry age our beef at home as well. I won't make any accusations about why we were ignored initially but contrary to some of the reviews, our experience was at the least underwhelming. The good part about Cherry Block is the steaks were good quality, although we both felt the filet side of the porterhouse was a bit small (just a preference). We bought Tiger Shrimp, which were fresh and good, beef bacon, which was recommended over their pork bacon, which is to die for, some fresh eggs which you could only get a better quality of egg if you were standing next to the chicken as it is being laid and seafood sausage which we have not tried yet but all the reviews state it is good. I gave them 4 stars which is a half a star too many due to the service but the products there are top notch. We will try them again based on the quality of the products but if the service is not there, that will be our last visit as we don't mind traveling for quality products and quality service. We prefer to support Katy local businesses but the service needs improvement. Simple things like hello, may I help you, knowing your products and at least pretend you are happy that we patronized your business goes a long way. As for the prices, well a bit more than your chain grocery stores but as I always say, you get what you pay for so price is not an issue when the product is good. They also have an assortment of seasonings and spices, game meat, Japanese A5 and Texas Wagyu, gourmet jams etc as well. As always, thank for reading my fellow Yelpers and happy eating!

Great products and the cost is similar to that of the big grocery chain. You can get what cut you want just have to ask. Plus they have some exotic meat as well.

As someone looking to buy quality meats from a more local and sustainable source, Cherry Block Market piqued my curiosity as I came across their location on Old Katy Road. Prior to going, of course, I had to look them up on good ol' google, and found that their meats are pasture-raised, natural, and are from the establishment's own farm or another farm in Texas, where the animals are raised responsibly. Today, I finally went for a visit. Upon entering, I wouldn't have known it was a butchery, because it certainly did not smell like one. None of that meat funk or ammonia smell that I frequently experience from the meat areas of a grocery store. They've got a great selection of all types of meats and different cuts-- beef, chicken, pork, even some wild game meats like rabbit, bison, pheasant, quail. They had some house-smoked bacon and also a variety of sausages. Aside from meats, there well also other food items and seasonings... lots of bbq seasoning, as well as local jarred goods. Oh and right in the middle is their dry age room, which housed some nice cuts of steak. Pretty legit if you ask me. Today, I only bought some pork shoulder, which I must say had absolutely no smell to it-- and I always tend to feel iffy about pork -- but the pork I got from Cherry Block was really... really good quality. The prices here are not that bad either and is comparable with what you would get from the regular markets. I was actually quite surprised. Anyway, if there's one thing that would make me keep going back to this place is that the customer service is exceptional-- unpretentious and gladly accommodating.

SO excited to see this little market pop up in the heart of the ol' MKT. Tons of local groceries and meats. Cute little entertaining trinkets and wares (think charcuterie boards, tea towels, mugs, etc.). Samples aplenty (hello scratch-made bread and pimento!). Farm eggs. LOCAL HONEY (take THAT, hateful TX allergies!). Ownership committed to sustainable practices. A meat case made in heaven (cannot wait to get my hands on one of those ribeyes!). I could go on and on. So many amazing things in one little location! This place and those like it are what makes Old Katy so special. Go check it out!

We just recently moved to Katy and passed Cherry Block on the way to No Label Brewery last weekend. My husband and I made a mental note to go here the next time we wanted steak. There were so many great products as well as a wide selection of meats to choose from. We went with two of the prime ribeyes. I cooked both sous vide when I got home and ended up only searing one since they were so big. The steak was delicious. I could definitely tell that this steak was several steps above a similar cut we got from a grocery chain a few weeks ago. We will definitely be returning frequently :)

A whole animal butcher shop with a great selection of meats ! They offer local beef,chicken and pork as well as many other proteins. I was amazed to see a side fridge that was stocked with bison, homemade broth (chicken,beef, and pork) elk,python and other exotic meats a first for me. They offer many homemade sausages like bratwurst, kielbasa and other innovative flavors. We were given to try a pepperoni pizza sausage which was great it even had cheese and really tasted like a good pepperoni pizza. We recently moved to Katy Texas from N.Y.C. and my wife being a phenomenal cook we were looking for authentic Butcher Shop. We found Cherry Block Craft Butcher and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a Aged Beef, a wonderful array of other Exceptional Choice Meats as well as various prime choice game meats. We met with the owner who was very friendly and explained the variety of meats that he has on display and everything is individually vacuumed seal wrapped. If you love cooking & entertaining family & friends, like we do; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this local Butcher Shop you'll be glad I mentioned it.

Best steaks I've ever had. Two weeks in a row! Extremely friendly staff. A must stop for meat.

Came home with a 2.3 lb., 30 day dry aged, bone in, ribeye. Holy smokes! My wife and I devoured it on the kitchen island, never took it to the table. Best steak I have had in a decade. Worth every penny. My goodness.

If you are looking for top quality beef then you need to go here. We purchased dry aged rib-eyes and they were the best steaks we had ever eaten!

This is a great true-to-form Texas shop. The meat is top quality! The bacon is fantastic.The staff is so helpful and friendly. It is also a great place to shop for gifts. I always look forward to going to Cherry Block when I go to Katy.

Love this family owned butcher shop and craft market right here in Old Katy. We buy our pork chops, steaks, eggs and this week, Prime Rib here. The owners and family that works here are wonderful people and sure could use your business. Shop here instead of the big grocery stores if you can for quality meat.

Wow! What a fantastic new Katy Gem!! The store is eye candy for any foodie. So much to explore! There is a special room in the middle for dry aged meats and charcuterie - first time for me to see something like this. Great selection of seafood, game meat, pork, beef and Wagyu- AMAZING! We are so excited to have a local source of Wagyu and now dry aged ribeye. We savored our first home cooked Dry aged bone-in ribeye and are in heaven! We will be back for more....
