This place reminds me of the food stands in developing countries--good but unsanitary food. I am giving 1 star because my friend ate the roll cake I bought and got food poisoning.
There are a lot of pastries to choose from in this bakery. Some are really good tasting, while others are mediocre. If you don't mind the flies resting on the pastries, then I would recommend the mini pineapple bun, cream bun, and pineapple strudel. Those stored in the warming oven might be safer to eat, since flies (possibly) cannot get to them. These would include the regular sized pineapple bun and pork bun.
The Swiss Roll Cakes are good; but the quality is inconsistent. One day, the cakes could be soft and fluffy, with good amount of cream. The next day, the cakes could be dry and with very little cream.
Aside from the above mentioned, the staff handle the pastries roughly. On my second visit, I ordered about eight pastries. Either they were trying to save boxes or they were lazy, the staff packed all the pastries into one box. When I got home, the softer buns were so squished that they looked beyond sad--the cream bun's cream was all smushed.
The inside of the store is quite dim. I don't know how the staff appear throughout the day, but the few times I were there (usually mid-day or afternoon), they all looked tired, rushed, and overworked. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the bakery opens at 5:45am. That means, do not expect good customer service.
All in all, I have already blacklisted this bakery, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
