"Inside 2220 Blake Street, a warehouse with big Denver history, Cherry Cricket Ballpark has opened in a sprawling space once associated with Breckenridge Brewery; I note Cherry Cricket has been a Denver institution for more than 70 years, was shuttered in 2016 after a kitchen fire and reopened early last year, and co-owner Lee Driscoll says they’re “not chain people” and aren’t sure whether the restaurant’s so-called “fairy dust” will translate to this Ballpark location. The new Cricket is built to offer something for everyone, fitting nearly 300 patrons across five distinct seating areas and a game room, with a 1,500-gallon saltwater fish tank by the entrance, table games around comfy lounge seating, TVs lining the bar, diner seating and a to-go counter up front, and a full mini-arcade in back with air hockey and self-serve beer taps. The dining room is more modern but intentionally not fancy, preserving the brand’s leveling vibe that welcomes diners in hard hats or suits; it even touts late-night offerings—complete with 2 a.m. “Cricket burgers”—and will serve burgers and other menu items until 2:30 a.m. Sunday–Thursday and until 3 a.m. Friday–Saturday, with happy hour from 3–6 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. until close.
