Yelp
Heard about this old fashioned ice cream parlor from friends that has a unique ambiance with plenty of creamy flavors and a strong Yelp rating of 4.6 stars with 846 reviews. Needed to see this place for myself and took a drive after dinner for a glimpse.
Here's a breakdown of what stood out:
Exterior Christmas Decor: The large building surrounded by Christmas ornaments set the tone for a festive and welcoming experience. It's clear that they put effort into creating a visually striking first impression.
1940s Ice Cream Parlor Interior: The replica of a vintage ice cream parlor must have been a delightful throwback, transporting visitors back to a time when candy shops and soda fountains were the place to hang out. The combination of candies, tubs of ice cream, and memorabilia from the past created a cozy and nostalgic environment.
The Cuddly Bear: A seven-foot-tall stuffed bear watching over the parlor certainly sounds unique and added a quirky touch to the atmosphere. It's these little details that make a place memorable!
Retro Decor: The space was filled with retro elements, from old movies and toys to gasoline company placards including an old gasoline pump. That's a wonderful way to take visitors on a trip down memory lane and give them a sense of history.
The Themed Bathrooms: The custom-designed bathrooms were clean and were definitely a fun detail! The men's bathroom with cartoons and old TV shows like All in the Family adds to the nostalgia, while the women's bathroom with a pink Barbie theme is playful and fun, which actually includes a glass wall display of a bunch of retro Barbie dolls. It's not often you find such attention to detail in the smallest of spaces!
Ice Cream Ordered: A chocolate brownie with a giant scoop of caramel ice cream topped with whip cream, chocolate syrup and a cherry balancing on top - presented on a large red and white plate which was also drizzled with chocolate syrup - cost $14.00. They offered many other extravagant specialties like the Root Beer Float, Cherry Smash, Ice Cream Sodas, The Elvis,
The Commish, Smores, The Waffle and Bananas Foster amongst others.
All in all, it seems like this ice cream parlor was a place not only for great ice cream but also for embracing the charm of bygone eras, creating a unique and memorable experience. Will return with friends for another ice cream adventure.
