All-day restaurant with a garden dispensing soul food with interesting seasonal & global touches.
"Celebrity chef Cheryl Smith runs this wood-heavy, warmly lit Prospect Heights hideaway near the Brooklyn Museum. Though anchored in the tradition of soul food, her menu doesn’t observe regional or ethnic bounds, moving from mussels in a Thai coconut curry to Creole-style shrimp and bulgogi ribeye steak." - Paul Schrodt
"The days are long and the weeks are hard. Thankfully, when we’re feeling defeated, we can go to Cheryl’s Global Soul for some seriously good-for-your-soul comfort food. Before opening her brick and mortar Prospect Heights location, Chef Cheryl starred in her own show, Melting Pot, on the Food Network. Her love for cooking started when she was young, in her mother’s kitchen. Now her knowledge of cuisine spans the globe from classical French, contemporary pan-Asian, Pacific Rim to Moroccan and her mouth-watering menu reflects her worldly palette. Conveniently located, Cheryl’s is situated right next to Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Brooklyn Public Library. We suggest going for brunch (though dinner is outstanding too) and then spending a lazy day in the park. Must haves for brunch: pancakes with mixed berries + Chantilly cream and the salmon hash served with a poached egg and toast." - Aki Carpenter & Chris Huban
"A big night might involve whispering sweet nothings over candlelight, or it might entail wrapping yourself in a fleece blanket while scented candles and memories of this week’s Zoom meetings melt away in the background. For the latter, order from Cheryl’s Global Soul in Prospect Heights. They specialize in comfort foods from around the world, meaning you can order chili, tonkatsu, and coconut curry wings at the same time. Call 347-529-2855 between 12-8pm daily to place an order for pickup or delivery." - matt tervooren
"From tonkatsu to bacon cheeseburgers, Cheryl’s Global Soul offers comfort food from around the world. So if you’re looking for a place to eat with people who all want different things, keep this Prospect Heights spot in mind. And since they have a spacious garden patio and some new curbside seating out front, you probably won’t have to wait for a table these days (even for weekend brunch)." - nikko duren
"Sometimes, you just need a neighborhood spot where you can sit down and eat a sandwich or a piece of salmon. That’s what Cheryl’s Global Soul is for. It’s just north of Prospect Park, and the menu consists of things like bowls, burgers, soups, and salads. The space has colorful string lights, a little disco ball, and a bunch of wood paneling that makes the restaurant feel like a tiny log cabin, and it’s open all day. Come here after your run, do your best to wipe the sweat off your face, and grab a seat at the tiny bar in the back." - Bryan Kim
