I am a Westerville native, now reside out of state. Cheryl's used to be the absolute best. It was a proud time for Westerville with this local woman owned business that made national fame (including a contract supplier to the former America West Airlines), but now that they sold out to the 1-800 Flowers group of companies (based in Jamaica I might add), things have changed. Their email advertised free shipping for a limited time. I rushed to meet the deadline but when I entered the free shipping code, it was rejected and a $40 shipping charge was applied ($40 to ship 9 miles, from one Columbus suburb to another, BTW). I placed the order anyway to ensure timely arrival, believing the company would stand behind the free shipping offer. Not so. Long story short, I spent over an hour via online chat session, and then live "customer service" explaining the problem and listening to excuses (when I could decipher what the person was telling me, that is, due to a major language barrier). I was told the code rejection was a system problem and was offered some sort of coupon for my next order. Are you kidding? I demanded a credit to my Visa account but they refused, stating they were unable to do that. As it now stands, one of two items I ordered have arrived at the destination. Now we wait to see if the other arrives in time for Christmas. Reading the reviews here, I have a sinking feeling... I wish I'd read the reviews before I ordered. Hopefully, reading the details of my experience, and others, it will serve as a warning: DO NOT ORDER FROM CHERYL'S COOKIES, or any of the others in this "family" (includes 1-800 flowers, Harry & David, Wolferman's, and others (see online corporate info). Any business that will not honor their offers is a dishonest, unreliable one. Plenty of other companies out there who are able to deliver what they promised, when they promised, and for the price they promised.
