We ordered two dozen steamed blue crabs for carry out - delicious! When we called to place the order, we were unsure how many to order (appetizer amount for a group of 8). The woman on the phone was helpful and patient, especially given we were placing a same day order on the Fourth of July. Great experience and highly recommend!

We had a dz MD blue crab ,mussels, calamari deep fried ,and bacon wrapped scallops. Everything was delicious including blueberry cheesecake.Waitrees was wonderful.

A little late but I visited here for Valentine’s Day and considering how busy it was, the service was pretty good. Granted we had a reservation so we got seated right away but our server was prompt and we did not have to wait too long in between orders. We opted for the buffet and given how delicious everything sounded, I felt like it under delivered for the cost. However, the fried shrimp, oysters on the half shell and the smith island cake were the best things! The Cole slaw was also good too! Reminded me of the old CFA style Cole slaw! The Mac and cheese was a bit dry, the crab cakes were underwhelming and the broccoli casserole was very bland. The restaurant definitely stayed busy all night. Definitely seems like a good local spot.

Chesapeake Landing is a St. Michaels landmark, a true destination for anyone craving an authentic Maryland seafood experience. Located just outside of the downtown area, it's a bit of a drive, but well worth the trip. We visited on a winter Friday specifically for their renowned weekly seafood buffet, the details of which are cleverly announced on their active social media channels. Our particular Friday feast included unlimited crab cakes, fried oysters, raw oysters, oyster casserole, oyster stew, fried shrimp, mac and cheese, coleslaw, oyster stuffing, and the pièce de résistance, Smith Island cake. Let me just say, this place was packed. The restaurant and parking lot were overflowing, so reservations (which you must make by phone) are absolutely essential unless you're prepared for a considerable wait. However, the constant flow of people is a testament to the food. The buffet was meticulously maintained, with dishes being restocked frequently, ensuring everything was hot and fresh. The endless raw oysters were a highlight – plump, fresh, and delicious. The crab cakes, while not featuring lump crab meat (they leaned more towards backfin and claw), were still quite tasty. And the Smith Island cake? A rare and delightful treat, especially on a buffet! It was a perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Chesapeake Landing delivers the quintessential Maryland seafood experience. It's a bustling, lively atmosphere with a focus on fresh, classic dishes. If you're looking for a true taste of Maryland seafood, Chesapeake Landing is a must-try.

Google
Large seafood restaurant that has a large dining area, take out area and bar. We were told this is where the locals go, so we had to check it out. We were a party of 6 and service was slow initially. We waited a good 10-15 mins before someone approached the table. Once our waitress came, service was attentive. The atmosphere is a little worn, for the price and type of food served so a little up to date refresh is due. The portion size of the food is very large. You are either going home very full or with leftovers. Half of the menu (sandwiches, wraps and burgers) is not available for dinner, so non-seafood eaters options are slim. One customer had a medical emergency in the restaurant which was handled very calmly and discretely by restaurant management. I appreciated how well that was handled. Overall the food was very good and we had a nice experience.

Google
The crabs were amazing yesterday. Had the AUCE for $49, well worth it. My server was Abby and she's just a doll. Thanks for making my crab date out delightful!

Google
We have always loved this place - great ambiance, good food, excellent crab, and friendly service. Now they have added an outdoor deck that is pet friendly, and it's beautiful! This just makes it even more enticing - we came here twice on a 2-day visit.

Google
Visited this place for a lunch today after the lunch rush. We ordered jumbo crab cake special and we were very happy with the food. Fries came very hot, very fresh tasting crab cake without lots of fillers. I thought it was the best tasting broiled crab cake I ever tasted.

Darlene C.

Yelp
The place is always crowded to be sure. The service is good. O can only give the food 4 stars however because the food is just okay. They do serve a corn pudding that tastes like Momma's and the soft shell crab is delicious

Yelp
Each time we come here I want to like this place. Our friends always order the Lobster Night Special - lobster with two sides of seafood and a garden salad. And maybe even more sides? The meal starts with bread rolls and delicious corn bread. Our server brought our drinks quickly. Salads came for those who got it with their meal. I had ordered a fried seafood platter with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. I was disappointed that my scallops were over cooked. The other items were good. I was so full that I didn't have dessert. Service was very good with free refills on sodas without our asking.

Yelp
You would not think it would be so difficult to find a good place for steamed crabs on the Eastern Shore. Look no further! This is a family restaurant with a full menu that also serves fabulous steamed crabs. The meat is flavorful. A dozen filled two of us.

Yelp
Came here in a recommendation from a shop owner in town. It's a local friendly place. I had the seafood platter for $44- the seafood was plentiful: flounder, scallops, oysters, 2 shrimp and a delicious crab cake. It was very filling. The shrimp were a bit small but everything else was fantastic. Service was very friendly and fast!

Yelp
We came for a weekend getaway in St Michaels and were so happy that we stopped here for lunch! We got the half and half soup (cream of crab and Maryland crab). It tasted better than it looked! Def had some crab shell pieces, so careful when eating. At least it was fresh. We also got a 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp and half dozen large crabs. I also got an iced tea. The prices were pretty solid and reasonable, especially compared to the same quality of seafood in St Michaels and Baltimore. Our entire bill was $60. The service was also great. Everyone was very nice and cheerful. We were still new to eating crabs, so a staff member came over to walk us through how to eat them. It was really helpful and informative, and we really appreciated it! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in fresh, quality seafood with affordable prices in a local/family setting. You could see why all the locals come here. It's not "fancy" per se, but also doesn't need to be. :)

Yelp
Mediocre/poor crab cakes and less than stellar service. Overpriced buffet for Father's Day. The soft shells from the regular menu were only slightly more than 3" long. They did not even cover the slice of bread they were served on. We have been regulars for years and the last two visits have been terrible. So sorry to see what used to be a good place at a great price go this way.

Yelp
Went here Sunday afternoon after church. Atmosphere was nice the restaurant was not crowded at all. we where greeted by a nice young lady who seated us , we sat in a booth. the menu was very busy there was so much to choose from it was hard to decide. We ended up choosing the crab pretzel for starters ( it took awhile for it to come out but it was very good ) we ordered the Seafood plater with two sides Onion Rings and Coleslaw I had the Crab Imperial which was amazing it came with two sides as well I had the Coleslaw and Onion Rings. everything was delicious. I had a Root beer Float ( this was not on the menu however the waitress made it for me and just charged extra for the Ice-cream). There where a few minor things . Quite a few things on the menu stated market price, so you had to make sure that you kept up with the price that the waitress gave for the market prices. If not there could be a chance that you may be over charged. There where a few flies that we had to keep swatting as we ate that was annoying at times. ( Hence the 4 stars) Other than that the customer service was great. and everyone was very friendly. I would return again.

Yelp
Steamed crabs and cold beer Food was amazing, and you need to come and support this family owned and operated business! Big shout out to Jesse for saving the day from the 3 generation party of 3

Yelp
Fantastic seafood. A real taste of Maryland from the crabs to the hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Yelp
First time there, nice place, food was good. I had the prime rib and it was excellent.

Yelp
Friendly service and truly the best crabs I've ever had. They were so fresh and cooked to perfection. We asked about the crabs and our server told us she had to count them first because they had just brought them in. That's how fresh they were! This place was highly recommended by locals for the crabs and I can see why. At the time of this review, it was $20 for half a dozen medium crabs (and they gave me a bonus extra, so really it was $20 for 7).

Shacja S.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance was perfect! My seafood omelette was delicious and my husband's stuffed flounder was fresh and delicious too. Our server was the best ever and we have had her before. She is always very attentive and knows what is fresh on the menu. Love her. Happy Easter

Yelp
What an incredible local spot. Perfect seafood. Perfect rockfish. Perfect crab cakes. Wait staff was attentive and nice. Prices were more than affordable. This place should be on everyone list when visiting the Chesapeake Bay Area. Thank you for a tremendous experience

Yelp
So we were told this is where the real locals go and it would be much more authentic than the touristy places. Well it had a lot of local flair but the food wasn't anything special. They seemed busier than they were expecting when we went which might explain why most of the fried items seemed like the oil might not have been hot enough. Seems like their deal is quantity over quality, but there are way worse places to spend an evening.
google avatar

Bryan H.

Yelp
We ordered xl steam crabs they were medium at the best. The waitress said crabs are running small. I was disappointed with the size of the crabs and the price. They had a great taste . The service was good. The restaurant was clean and a typical eastern shore seafood restaurant. I will try the crabs again once they are in season. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Yelp
We ate here twice on our trip and both times it was amazing!!! The food is delicious, highly recommend the cream of crab soup! Great prices and really fresh seafood in a nice quiet location with lots of parking and seating!

Yelp
Wow terrible service. Sat at the bar while waiting for a 300$ to go order. Food brought out and no clams. Told us 2 mins and they would be ready. Waited 15 mins told a bunch of BS about the steamer and other information that was irrelevant and excuses. I had to get a refund for their f-up and now weve got cold food. No manager in sight and no care for the customer. Repulsive, go to crab claw or a better place with proper care for the clientele. Stay away from this sh*t hole.

Walter S.

Yelp
There's no getting around it--the seafood is excellent. But the sides and related items ... Vegetables looked and tasted like they came out of a can. Cole slaw tasted as if it had been soaked in water; salad dressing tasted as if it had been diluted with water as well. Not good enough for the prices charged.

Shirley B.

Yelp
Fabulous jumbo steamed crabs ! We have been waiting for the jumbos and Chesapeake Landing delivered. Started with cream of crab soup. My husband was in crab picking and eating heaven. Fresh, hot, plenty of Old Bay seasoning. Great service too.

Amber E.

Yelp
This is one of my all time favorite restaurants to dine in. I love brunch hour. Quiet during this time and the food is sooooo good! You cannot go wrong with anything you order and the buffet at dinner is great! Definitely a family and kid friendly menu and the customer service has always been on point.

Schlicter L.

Yelp
visited today. worst food we've had in years. service was fine. the wine was great and a good pour. but that's as far as it goes. wife had a spinach salad with grilled chicken. she is not picky and one to say much but this was her Waterloo. and my crab cake sandwich was as blah as could be. the tartar sauce had one pickle piece from the relish used to make tartar sauce. and I think all of the furnitur/tables had to be from early goodwill.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Tasty food. Great prices. Friendly staff. Short distance from the heart of St Michaels.

Yelp
The go-to seafood eatery near Saint Michaels MD. We stayed in Oxford and had two strong recommendations there for the Landing by locals and rode the short ferry over towards Saint Michaels. It's a large place, not real fancy, and very busy located a few miles north of town. My wife loaded up with clams (oysters not in season), note; the "butter" served with the clams tasted like margarine so star off for that - crab of course, sole, scallops, best potato salad I have had the pleasure of eating in a looong time. Savory scallops fried in a bacon roll were an appetizer, stewed tomatoes. All the seafood here (and generally in this area) is seasonal and very local to Chesapeake Bay. No swordfish here. I had crab-stuffed flounder that was delicious and creamy. My glass of prosecco was perfect - pro tip: it was very hot that day and I added ice and that eased enjoyment of a rich meal.

Judy Lee R.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service! Easy access with parking! Met manager who asked "How was your dinner?" Very nice!
google avatar

Maricar L.

Yelp
We ordered the crab cake with potato salad and scallops with fries. They ask if you want them broiled or fried. We had ours broiled and they came out great. The price point is also great, not expensive at all for the quality of food you get. It looks like the locals frequent this place as we saw a group of six ladies playing cards while waiting for their food. Forgot to take pictures of the food as we were so hungry.. Try this place when you are in the Chesapeake area.

Yelp
Location: about a mile west of Saint Michaels. No water view, but a very large parking lot with separate entrances for the restaurant and a very popular pub. Restaurant has indoor seating, bar has both indoor and outdoor. This place is very popular with the locals as well as visitors. Facilities: the restaurant has wooden tables and booths old-fashioned with dark stain and brass and a nautical theme of course. Service: everyone is friendly and very fast. They do a very high volume in the evenings and the kitchen serves quite quickly. Full bar and cocktails beer and wine are available in the dining room as well. special shout out to our waitress on a recent visit, Abby, she was efficient nice really great! Quality: really remarkable selection of seafood fresh broiled stuffed steamed almost any way you could imagine! Mostly local but every Thursday night they have a special during the season of Maine lobsters. One and a half pound Maine lobster with two sides your choice shrimp, muscles, clams, salad and cornbread. Market price flat rate recently we enjoyed this for $36 a person. Also comes with tubs of melted butter on a metal stand over a small alcohol lamp. Very nice! Value: they had a lot of other less expensive things on the menu but we felt the Thursday night lobster dinner was a great experience. Lots of butter on our fingers! Went home full and happy.(See photo)

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We had lobster and the local fish. That being said, they could have cracked or at least have offered to crack the lobster for you.
google avatar

Connee S.

Yelp
Friendly bartender and wait staff. Excellent quality seafood. Perfectly mixed drinks. Too bad they don't use any seasoning. The crab cakes tasted like crab meat and mayonnaise. No Old Bay seasoning. No Worcestershire sauce. No ground mustard. Not even a hint of lemon juice. Instead, they provide salt shakers filled with Old Bay. IF YOU DON'T COOK IT INTO THE FOOD, IT IS INEFFECTIVE. We were disappointed as we have ordered steamed crabs from here many, many times and they were awesome. Maybe somebody "forgot" to season the batch of crab cakes that we received. Bland crab cakes are not the way to go.
google avatar

William E.

Yelp
The drinks are extremely reasonably priced and very very well made by the one lady bartender. The best I've menu item I've had here is the raw oysters. A few days ago I ordered flounder with a sprinkling of crab meat at MARKET PRICE ($40.00). It was ok but needs a little something in it. I ordered the cream of crab soup which was delicious. Also, delicious was the stewed tomatoes and mashed potatoes. Their food is high on my comfort food list but the pricing of the main entree is becoming ridiculous ... not only here but everywhere for the past several years. I compliment them on not charging additional fees for the use of a credit card. The restaurant is very nice; however, I feel it could use some updating in both the kitchen and the floor manager in charge of servers. Following our dinner the table was not cleared of dishes...they were just left there. I expect more when I pay $300 for dinner.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
We got there at 5pm on a Saturday, great not to crowded.. we both got the crab soup i thought it taste like creamed chip beef no exaggeration. she got the blackened scalups. The scalups had old bay on them and were not fresh.. I'm very familiar with fresh seafood.. I couldn't eat these scalups.. her potato salad was good but we don't think it was made there .. I got the crab cakes there was no filling and were ok.. also Mac n cheese with stewed tomatoes.. my diner was ok... for desert I ordered a rice pudding.. again inedible.. rice was chewy hard .. the bill $106. Every plate was still on our tabil and not cleared.. not one item came out hot.. never again..
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
By far the crab dip was the best. And the crab imperial on top of the chicken. For me I would have plated stuff differently. Have the potatoes on the plate and not in a bowl on the plate. Too many dishes. Just a basic roll and crumbly corn bread. Nothing special to brag about. Applesauce as you expect. The chicken was good
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
We were driving around St Michaels and EVERYWHERE was saying an hour plus wait even though it was 1:45 ... on a Monday..... in February... we found this place and we were so lucky we did!!!! Huge crab!!! No filler! Perfect family place
google avatar

Todd C.

Yelp
Not great, not terrible. Crab melt was fine, a bit heavy on the cheese, but the crab was good. Onion rings are probably Sysco or some other frozen type. Wait staff is efficient and friendly. Menu is extensive and there are daily specials. I would stop again if near by. However that is partly because there's not a lot around.

Stewart W.

Yelp
My wife and I dined there on July 6 2024 for my Wife's Birthday. First it was very Hot where they seated us and it took a long time for our waitress to take our drink order we both asked for water.I ordered the seafood stir-fry with baked potato and green beans as my side my wife was looking forward to a crab patty so she ordered the broiled crab patty and red skin potatoes with the green beans as her sides. my stir-fry was to consist of crab, shrimp, scallops, and fish (?) the crab was the imitation kind you know with the pink in it (yuk!) the shrimp-2 tasted like chlorine the scallops were ok and still don't know what kind of fish it was the stir-fry vegetables were mushy and the green beans still had the stems on them. My wife's crab was nothing special and a little disappointing that it wasn't any bigger her green beans also had the stems still attached and only had 3 small red skin potatoes. The biggest concern i have with my meal that a supposed sea food restaurant would try to serve imitation crab and not tell you what kind of fish it was serving. I will not be eating at this establishment again. Buyer beware and by the way the bill for this fiasco was $62.50 drinking water and no dessert. What a waist!!!
google avatar

Alan D.

Yelp
Very solid food with very Maryland character. First, pretty much everything had crab in it except the water! We had prime rib but had them hold the crabmeat on top (seriously, this is an option). Sweet potato fries (sans crabmeat) were pretty good. Second, the staff was warm and friendly. Third, and most importantly, they had delicious Smith Island Cake. Two flavors, caramel and red velvet, which is what we got. Face it, with all that is going on in the world today, a ten layer Smith Island Cake is the answer.

Susie V.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. The crab chowder was absolutely excellent. Best I've ever had. Can't wait to come back and try some more choices from your extended menu. So many choices to choose from. I will surely be back for more, and bring my friends too!

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Fantastic service and good food. The crab pretzels are a must! I had crabcakes, all crabmeat and delicious. My partner had the shrimp scampi against the advice of our waitress - it looked like she described to me and not good, but he totally enjoyed it so... We came upon it by accident and so glad we did!
google avatar

Will A.

Yelp
Great people serving and dining, especially at the bar. We were fully entertained and cared for the hour or so we were there. Definitely where the locals go and the best place for All You Can Eat (AYCE) crabs, but also great for drinks and apps. Happy Hour is fantastically affordable! Nothing exotic or fancy here, just good local spot to experience the Eastern Shore.
google avatar

Yelp
Do not order the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. I went for dinner at 5 pm Saturday night. I ordered a glass of Kendall Jackson with my entree. I was served half a glass of wine with an explanation they were out of Kendall Jackson and said she would take a couple of dollars off. When the food arrived, I stated If I couldn't have a full glass and possibly a second glass with my dinner then I did't want it and told her to take it back. She then stated they have another bottle but it's not cold. Then she said they sell a lot of JJ. Perplexed I am thinking "it's early Saturday night and you don't have the bar properly stocked with a popular wine." Additionally, my stuffed shrimp with crabmeat was below standard especially for $30. I told the waitress this was the 3rd time I ordered KJ and they didn't have it ready for serving. I suggested they remove it from the menu. Overall, a disappointing dinner.
google avatar

Bruce D.

Yelp
The only restaurant around it's not a tourist trap! Honest Delicious food, and great prices. Don't miss the seafood platter. Ask for Trixie the waitress.
google avatar

Ziv B.

Yelp
I was not entirely happy w the Seafood Platter I got, though it was a nice assortment of seafood. I asked for it to be broiled, instead of the other option, fried. And that may have been a mistake. The oysters were a shriveled remnant of their former selves. Both shrimp were kind of anemic. The flounder and the scallops were ok but I should have asked for drawn butter. The crab cake was the best part of the meal, rich and delicious. The mashed potatoes and gravy were very good and the coleslaw was good as well. I need to back and try more dishes. I don't think I ordered well and that is on me. Service was spirited and professional.
google avatar

Leslie W.

Yelp
Delicious crabs. Large, heavy and local. They did a good job steaming them. The meat came right out of the shell, even on the busters, which sometimes can be sticky.
google avatar

Cindy K.

Yelp
Canned vegetables and beets. Flounder was ok, kind of bland. Had to cover it with sauce. Someone had the shrimp stuffed with crab which was good. Limp fries. Service was friendly but so slow. Had to ask multiple times for utensils, finally just took them from an empty table. Menu is confusing, they discontinue wraps and salads for dinner but it is not clear on the menu. Definitely overpaid for what we got.

Yelp
I came here for both lunch and dinner this past Sunday. Both experiences were stellar. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly. The hostess in particular went out of her way to make sure we had the best table available on both occasions. The food was amazing! It's exactly what you hope for when dining on the eastern shore. The cream of crab had nice big lumps of crab in it. The crab dip was also more crab than creamy dip. I like it that way. I had the fried shrimp for lunch. It was the perfect amount of breading. The onion rings were particularly amazing! Very nice tasting breading. The stuffed flounder for dinner was also superb. I only ordered one of their craft cocktails; the watermelon lust. It was tasty but very thick, probably from the watermelon purée. I would love to visit this restaurant again next time I'm in St. Michael's.
google avatar

Becky L.

Yelp
We came here while visiting St. Michael's/ Tilghman Island after learning that the locals come here to eat. On our way, we called them to see how much the steamed blue crabs were - the lady who picked up told us that they didn't have any crabs. Maybe they knew we were tourists and didn't want us to come? We still went there regardless, and it was empty inside. The hostess seated us immediately and told us that they actually DO have crabs! $35 for a medium dozen. It was good - meaty, well seasoned with Old Bay. We also ordered a pina colada type drink, which was a little too sweet, as well as french fries (soggy) and a half pound of steamed shrimp. They also gave us cornbread once we asked about it. We enjoyed our meal but it wasn't the best we've ever had. Not sure if we'd come back next time, as the overall atmosphere was a little dull. But the waitresses and even a couple of the locals are friendly there.

Yelp
We came at 520pm on 7/22 and had a terrible experience. The hostess working didn't greet us, just looked up and said "do you have a reservation?" And was visibly annoyed when we said no despite the restaurant being completely empty. (When we left at 7pm there were still plenty of empty tables). Our server was just as rude, only coming twice, once to take our order and then to bring our food. She opened her introductions with "juat so you know, its dinner so you cant order sandwhiches and you cant order wraps. What do you want to drink?" She never came to check on us, never came to refill our drinks, never came to give us our check, we had to get up and find her to get our check and she left before we could even ask her to go boxes. She seemed to write us off as a large party (9 people) that had a 18% gratuity added so she didn't have to do anything. We would have absolutely tipped more for even mediocre service. Food was just ok, not good but not terrible. If you value customer experience at all, I would revisit training your staff to at least pretend to be kind.
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
There were so many flies we could not enjoy our dinner. The food was good though. The service was okay also. We shoukd have known better because the front deck entering the restaurant reeked of fish. In the hot Sun this was not appealing.

Yelp
Seems to have popular and good all you can eats for shrimp or crabs. Our food was so so. Little imagination on the menu and not like they are slaying the making of the tired menu. They're not. It's good sorta and tasty sorta. It's like Dennys. All locals in there so they're doing something right. Maybe there is a place for it but I won't be back
