We made reservations ( highly recommend you do) for Sunday brunch, 11:00am. We were immediately greeted by two pleasant hostess. We waited a very short time to be seated. We were early for our reservation. Upon being seated, we were quickly welcomed by our waitress. We started with Bloody Mary’s. Very good with just enough spice to be refreshing. For brunch we had Shrimp & Grits & corn beef hash. Oh my goodness! We can’t rave enough about how delicious both dishes were! Very filling! The restaurant was full yet was pleasantly quiet. We could carry a conversation without straining! We will definitely be back to try some of the starters that looked appealing!

We had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time, but let me tell you—it was absolutely worth it. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, with a calm, inviting energy that set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The hostess greeted us with genuine warmth and offered a kind apology for the short delay, which was appreciated. What really stood out, though, was the impeccable service. Multiple servers tended to us throughout the evening, working seamlessly together in a way that brought back fond memories of my own time working in a high-end, team-service restaurant. It’s a rarity these days and a true mark of professionalism. We both stepped outside our usual culinary comfort zones and ordered dishes we’d never tried before—and they were absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was layered with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with care. A special shoutout goes to the crab bisque, which our AirBnB host emphatically recommended, calling it "second to none." She wasn’t exaggerating—it was rich, silky, and unforgettable. All in all, Chestnut exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re in town and looking for a memorable dining experience, I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Google
Fantastic brunch experience. Loved the espresso martinis and the fried tot appetizer. Tomato bisque was incredible and loved our entrees. Friendly service was also accommodating for our infant.

Great atmosphere, amazing service, and incredible staff. Our server, Jane, was so sweet and helpful. We had the chef’s special, the “Butcher’s Cut” (a ribeye with ragout sauce), which was absolutely fantastic, and the scallops were next level! I was here with my boyfriend for an early birthday celebration, and they even surprised us with a strawberry trifle. Overall, a 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a nice restaurant in downtown Asheville. I would consider it slightly upscale and highly recommend making a reservation. The food is exceptionally prepared and well presented. The cocktail and wine list are very good and my experience with the wait staff found them friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is a bit crowded but nicely lit. My only complaint is the length of time between sitting and service. Our reservation was for 7pm and we were sat promptly. We were attended soon after and when ordering skipped appetizers and ordered entrees. From sitting to entrees arrival was over C an hour. This for some may not be a negative, these days we all seem to be in a hurry and perhaps my expectations are not what others are but I felt the wait was a bit long. My rating reflects the closeness of guest seating and the wait for the food to arrive. Overall a very good experience.

Google
The cheeseburger I ordered was the most delicious looking presentation of a cheeseburger I have ever had! The bun was literally gleaming when it arrived at the table! Whitney was a very attentive server! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! The atmosphere was laid back as well! The manager even came out and took a picture of us! Very friendly!

Google
Chestnut was fantastic. The interior is cozy, and the decor is great, the staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was top notch. Every bite of every dish was incredible, and was such a great harmony of flavors. Absolutely order the tater tots if you get the chance, but be careful because every tater tot you eat after this one will be a let down 😂

Google
Great place to enjoy some fine dining! Located downtown Asheville with a nice relaxing vibe. All the drinks and food was amazing! Best scallops I have ever tried in my life! Jane was a great server and made excellent conversation and recommendations. Perfect walk away from staying at the foundry hotel and shopping afterwards. A must if you are staying downtown!!

Yelp
Wow. I can't say enough good things about the location and service and food. But I will try. First, the restaurant and bar is very stylish and clean. It's not a large area but they use it well for your comfort. Next, the menu is incredible and the food we ordered was excellent. We got the beet and apple bisque and were astonished at how good it tastes. We also got the eggs Benedict and loved the filet, chipotle seasoning and the bed of potatoes that was surprisingly different and good. Finally, our server Matt was the best. He was truly happy to tell us about the menu and make recommendations that were all correct. We went to brunch, so our next trip will be dinner.

Maddie K.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to dining at Chestnut bc I had a great experience last year while in town, but unfortunately, my experience this time was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, our server seemed uninterested and not wanting to be there. The food was the real letdown, though. The dishes we ordered were all so salty that it was nearly inedible. My boyfriend and I both got steaks and neither of us had steak knives to cut our meat. Additionally, the butcher's cut dinner he ordered was missing the potatoes that were supposed to come with it. I also ordered my steak medium well and it came out more rare. For the price, I was expecting much better quality in both food and service. Hopefully, this was just an off night, but I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Luke H.

Yelp
Have your parents take you here when they visit you. It's cozy and costly. The cinnamon roll in the photos is a lie. We came for that. They don't have it and won't have it. Sadly that staff member has gone to other places. We will totally be back to try other things though. The signage for the smoked trout seemed promising. Everyone was super nice.

G W.

Yelp
Great ambiance, food, and service! Make sure you make reservations because they were sold out!

Nancy B.

Yelp
Our first time to Chestnut. Where have u been my whole life?!!! Our party of 4 all tried different dishes and unanimously raved about the food. Every dish was delicious and presented beautifully. The vibe in the restaurant was warm, cheerful and lively. Cocktails were fabulous and we enjoyed the staff , felt well attended and served efficiently with good humor and a smile. If u haven't tried this place, GO! It's a delight. Loved it

Kathy P.

Yelp
Ordered the lobster bisque- amazing! The atmosphere is nice- pretty and intimate. Ely is an amazing server. Friendly, helpful and attentive. Loved the salmon. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Got it medium well which was perfect for me. Crème brûlée was delicious. Highly recommend. Will be back

Yelp
Our last full day in the area saw us enjoying brunch at Chestnut, where we enjoyed pimento cheese tater tots, Bloody Marys, and other delights. Overall, the experience was solid in the red-painted brick building on Biltmore Avenue. The dining area was nicely decorated with shimmering ceilings, and the bar was right across from the booth where we enjoyed our meal. Overall, our experience was solid. The Bloody Marys were pretty good with the garnish on top, while the pimento cheese tater tots were incredibly delightful and my favorite dish of our experience. The breakfast sandwich wasn't as good as I hoped as the croissant wasn't what I expected and was flaccid. But overall, we enjoyed our time there and the service was solid.

Yelp
I've dined at The Chesnut the past few times I've visited Asheville. From brunch to dinner or just for drinks, this intimate and upscale restaurant is bound to please. Perfectly crafted cocktails, ever-changing and always delicious dishes will keep me coming back. Most recently, I visited for brunch the first time and, with several girlfriends all with different palates, I was able to try a variety of dishes. Whether you enjoy savory or sweet, carnivore or herbivore, you can't miss. The highlights for me were the Bloody Mary's (iykyk), the Pimento Cheese Tater tots (oooooh, I can still taste it!), and the specialty pancakes (so fluffy and spectacularly indulgent). My primary entree - the Duck Confit - was *chef's kiss* perfection! Every element from the crispy purple yams, to the sunny side up eggs, were exactly to the right texture and temperature. Can't wait til my next trip!

Sharie B.

Yelp
5 stars everytime I went. Enough said. Easy for a quick executive lunch or a birthday dinner or a solo meal at the bar. Dare I say it is my favorite restaurant...but everything I ate in Asheville was exceptional. Enjoy!

Terry S.

Yelp
Great food, great service, lively ambiance. Bar or table service doesn't disappoint. Menu has lots of choices in all sizes to fit all appetites - and pocketbooks. Ambiance is lively because it's busy.... A reservation is your best bet. Cocktails are tun, creative, and crafted well. So no criticism - just a lovely experience start to finish.

Anita M.

Yelp
My husband, my parents, a couple of my friends and their son all went to brunch at Chestnut and had a wonderful time! Food: The food was so good! From plating to taste, Chestnut did not miss. Two of us got the chicken n' waffles, two of us got the eggs benedict on special that had steak, one got the smoked salmon toast and one got the shrimp po' boy. We would recommend any of these dishes to anyone who dines at Chestnut! I also loved the mimosa options- by the glass or pitcher! We really had an amazing brunch food & beverage experience here. Service: The service was fantastic from even before we arrived! I had to call to readjust our reservation and Chestnut was so kind and accommodating to my group. They were very patient with us and our timing while ordering and catching up. They brought the cutest high chair for my friends' son that was so appreciated by them. Service throughout was attentive and friendly. I also loved the servers' shirts, which I believe can be purchased through the restaurant. Ambiance: I loved the whole aesthetic of the resturant! It matched the tone of the menu and vibe advertised. When I think of "brunch" or even a "cute dinner spot", Chestnut would be a perfect representation. If you're in the Asheville area, check out Chestnut! It is a little pricier, but it's a great place to splurge on a meal. We thought it was so worth it!

Carole M.

Yelp
So happy to be back at Chestnut! It's been a few months since the storm and I haven't come to town in that few months. Being back and eating great food is just what I needed. Happy to see Asheville going strong and Chestnut packed on a Tuesday evening.

Stephen D.

Yelp
Had the burger and the rueben split with my wife. The rueben was good but the burger was way better. Nice atmosphere and the staff was accommodating. Little on the higher side price wise, but would go back.

Sharon D.

Yelp
This was our second time at Chestnut, and it did not disappoint. The food and service are exceptional! It's a popular restaurant, so make a Resy and go early if you want to avoid the crowds. It's open concept, so early dining is less noisy.

Scott G.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation but the staff took care of us until there was space at the bar. But we got a table for two anyway! The drinks and food were awesome too! And we loved the atmosphere!!

Allie W.

Yelp
Sat at the bar by myself for dinner and it was wonderful! I got the hamachi crudo which is a newer item and tasted better than it looked. And for my entree I got the trout which was so so good! Loved this spot.

Donna A.

Yelp
Delicious food! Great gluten free options! It was packed on a Tuesday night! Will definitely be back.

Marcia S.

Yelp
I was part of a group of eight women who met for brunch last week. Everyone raved about their meal. I had the shrimp and grits. It was amazing! I saved some so my husband could try and he agreed. I also had a delicious Irish coffee. We were celebrating several birthdays and the waitress offered 3 free desserts which helped to make a perfect meal even better. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was excellent. Our server, Julia was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. I can't wait to return!

Rebeca K.

Yelp
Service is good. Ambiance is nice. Food is not good!!! Cesar salad does even taste like cesar salad. In fact, it doesn't have any taste. The catch of the day is also tasteless, bland. No interest in coming back here. Even the chamomile tea was tasteless.

Nicole S.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! Everything we got tasted absolutely amazing. Our server Samantha helped us pick a bottle of wine and gave us such great service the entire night. We were really impressed with our experience here and wish we lived closer to come back all the time.

Meri A.

Yelp
Such a classy place for Sunday brunch! Enjoyed the morning with girlfriends, mimosas and bloody Mary's! Food was delicious and the waitress was very nice. The place has a very elegant feel and we enjoyed a sunny spot by the window in a step up window nook. A great last stop on a girls weekend trip!

Davis P.

Yelp
We needed to grab dinner and the concierge recommended this place. The location was nice with a decent amount of seating. True to Asheville now, you should get a reservation if you want to eat anywhere these days. Its drink menu was cryptic, but our waiter was ready to explain each item. She was definitely the best part, along with the other diners. You could tell this place was somewhat of a local favorite as residents were running into each other at different tables. I ordered today's special, which was a ravioli stuffed with some type of meat I can't remember. While the flavors were great, I wish it was a bigger portion. It was a nice experience overall.

Jody P.

Yelp
My first-time dining at Chestnut for Brunch and it was perfect! The interior is beautiful with an elegant, yet cozy feel. Was surprised when we first arrived that it was almost empty; by the time we left there were only a few tables available. Nice bar area as well for dining. Our server Lilly was sweet and attentive without hovering over the table. Our group ordered the salmon toast and pimento cheese tots for appetizers. The salmon toast was good, but the pimento cheese tots were absolutely everyone's favorite! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and came with a zesty dipping sauce. For the entrees, we had the fall squash vegan hash, huevos rancheros, pork belly benedict, and the special of the day which was fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. If homemade tartar sauce is offered, I'm IN! We all enjoyed the delicious food, but the item that will bring me back to Chestnut is the pimento cheese tots appetizer.

Renee C.

Yelp
Best meal of the weekend! Took a chance on a new place thanks to Yelp reviews and we were delighted! The salads were interesting and zesty and we both ordered the host rib pasta which was perfectly prepared! I also ordered the cinnamon cocoa old fashioned and it was so delicious. One thing that Really stood out to us was also the service. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. Answered all her questions and made great recommendations. Can't wait to come back on my next trip. Add this to your list and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
A great meal at this downtown spot. Chestnut is a square room in a storefront on busy Biltmore Ave. There are roughly 30 tables and booths scattered throughout plus a 12 seat bar on the right. Decor is cool... wrought iron room dividers are set throughout and between the booths. The metal is adorned with small glass tiles which add a sense of privacy. Beautiful oversized glass light fixtures abound. Room volume is muted so conversation is easy without having to shout. Reservations honored to the minute. Service was crisp, accurate and efficient, with special instructions for the kitchen well accommodated. Lobster bisque was a tad disappointing. It was a little thin to my taste and could have been more bold. I love a thick and creamy bisque; and almost tangy. Maybe more sherry? This bisque was really good, but not a standout. I tried the schnitzel. Also tasty. Pounded pork is ensconsed in crumbled pretzels and fried golden brown. It's served atop spaetzle and pickled braised red cabbage. The pork is topped with mornay sauce. Cabbage was excellent, sweet and tangy. Spaetzle also excellent, flavored with chives and the perfect consistently - neither mushy nor crunchy but just right. The pork was just OK. A little thicker that schnitzel is usually prepared. And I think the cheese sauce takes away from the taste because it somewhat overpowers the pork. A delicious dish, just a few nits which are more about my personal preference. Also tried the filet. Prepared perfectly medium-well, the beef is fork-tender, juicy & perfectly seasoned. Excellent! Served with a dollop of creamy mashed potatoes. Yes! Lastly, tried apple crisp for dessert. An oval ramekin is filled with green apples, raisins, topped with butter/brown sugar/ground oatmeal crumbles and baked to a gooey-in-the-middle, crunchy-on-top treat. Amd it's topped with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream. This is one of my favorites and the prep here is excellent. Plenty of other choices on the menu. Will be back to try some more m3xt trip to Asheville.

Yelp
Believe it or not- it's that good. Once again Yelp to the rescue. Has some travel plans change - hit up Yelp from hotel and Chesnut was 2 blocks away. Great waiter (Samantha) literally top notch. Food was very flavorful which I appreciate as the taste buds dull a bit with age. I had the Risotto- off the charts good. Nice atmosphere- you can see why they have been there for over 10 years. Owner happened to be sitting at the bar - nice guy. Just go here ...don't hesitate.

J Scott L.

Yelp
The restaurant is quaint and the service is excellent. The menu is unusual so I'd recommend checking it out before coming. I had the filet, medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly BUT when it came to the table it was cold! The whipped potatoes were hot but the filet cold. Since the dish was $58 I was EXTREMELY disappointed.

Molly W.

Yelp
overall a good experience dining at chestnut! We stopped by on a Saturday around 1pm and had no issues getting seated right away. Our waitress was attentive and was able to answer our questions about the menu. The real stand out from our meal was the pimento cheese tater tots with jalapeño aioli. SO GOOD. I could have had another order. The Bloody Mary deviled eggs were good and we liked the unique take. The entree we shared was slightly disappointing-- the flavors were great but there was only 2 pieces of meat. So it was mostly breakfast potatoes, veggies, and sauce. Regardless, We will definitely come back and try something new!

Ariana B.

Yelp
Absolutely AMAZING everything! The decor is classic and chic. Our server Hannah was extremely attentive and helpful in deciding on drinks and food. The flavors are executed very well and thought out. We had pimento cheese tots, & broccoli cheddar bisque to start and moved onto the corned beef hash(the poached eggs were heavenly) and finished off with the beignets. Took some of those home. Left very fat and happy!!! We cannot wait to be back! :)

Daniel M.

Yelp
The food was excellent. The bisque warrants a special trip itself, but the steaks were cooked to perfection. A surprise of the meal was the care that it took to make the potatoes. An often over looked vegetable that was served two different ways to perfection (mashed, potatoes au gratin). An expansive wine list that allows most by the glass which were 10-15 for both red and white. While all of this would make me come back the next trip to Asheville the staff made an amazing experience due to their attentiveness and knowledge of the area. Thank you chestnut.

Carmen R.

Yelp
Visiting North Carolina for a few days and decided to head over to downtown Asheville to find a nice spot to eat. There are hundreds of places to choose from and you can really tell that Asheville is becoming known for its food scene. After a lot of deliberating and walking - my wife and I decided on Chestnut. Chestnut is located in an old historic building on biltmore Ave - the inside is open that immediately changes your perspective from the second you walk in. Admittedly, we did not have reservations but the host staff was able to seat us at a table by the window immediately on a Friday at 6:30pm. (kudos for that!) I ordered the Kobe Burger and my wife had the lobster bisque with a side salad. We also split the Scallops over Jalapeño corn bread and we highly recommend that as a shareable plate!

Mary H.

Yelp
More of a 4.5. Service was excellent! Food quality was good. *Heirloom tomatoes and Burrata was delicious! The tomato's were perfectly ripe. *Petite filet, my husband couldn't say enough about how perfect his meal was. *Linguini and crab was ok. I think it was more of a texture thing for me, I prefer my pasta al dente. We were so full from our meals that we just shared a scoop of ice cream. But that dessert menu looked amazing. We would definitely return if we're back in the area.

Rachael O.

Yelp
Came here initially for a salad during a long weekend trip. The service was amazing, so I ended up ordered a couple drinks as well. The next day I came for brunch, and even though there was different staff they all still treated me so well. Aside from the outstanding service, every single dish was amazing! Between the multiple visits I tried the mocktails, which were complex and not too sweet. The deserts I tried were the matcha ice cream and lemon cruller sundae (not at the same time). I would go back to Asheville just for the sundae - so fresh and full of flavor. I had the calamari salad recommended by Jess, it was one of my favorite bites of the trip. The brunch menu was so expansive, I only tried a few items. The ricotta donuts and shrimp & grits were great; the peach burrata salad was good, and the pimento cheese hash/tots were delightful! I would love to come back and try the chicken with waffles.

John-Paul S.

Yelp
Great martini priced at under $14, full pour, vs smaller $19.50 for others in town. Same with $10 lobster bisque with ample lobster vs competitors. Good to see a local place bouncing back and not ripping off customers.

Tracy D.

Yelp
We had dinner reservations here on Friday night and enjoyed salmon, trout and shrimp and grits with our cocktails. The pecan crusted trout was really good. I finished it all which I usually don't do. The atmosphere was cozy and festive. And our server was friendly.

Bob V.

Yelp
Celebrated my amazing wife on Mother's Day. Brunch at Chestnut ended up being a fantastic choice. The attention to detail was readily apparent - everything we tried was visually stunning and beautifully satisfying. The ambiance was welcoming. Service couldn't have been better, and the complimentary rose at the end was a lovely touch. Thanks, Chestnut, we'll be back. .

Kyna M.

Yelp
Great place! Food excellent! Service adequate but nothing special. Ambiance is nice. I used to prefer Corner Kitchen but now I prefer Chesnut. Sad about the flood of CK. Hoping Chesnut can make up the difference for them.

Deedrah B.

Yelp
I came here for a solo dinner while visiting Asheville for the weekend. I sat at the bar - it was pretty crowded and busy, I was there around 8pm on Friday- so I didn't have to wait and the bartender brought the menus over quickly and was nice and friendly. I ordered the bronson, a spicy tequila drink and a creamy pasta. The drink was delicious but the food just just okay, a little lacking in flavor/seasoning. There were a lot of other tempting options on the menu though, and I had a pleasant experience overall so I would definitely go back to try something else.

Dylan H.

Yelp
Accidentally discovered this place not knowing its affiliation to Corner Kitchen. Amazing! First off I must say corner kitchen is one of my favorites and a must hit every time I'm here. Chestnut one up'd it! Everything that I ordered was ridiculously good. And everything that walked by looked just as appealing. I will be back to try this again. Well done

Sage C.

Yelp
A wonderful experience from start to finish! Food: everything was fresh and delicious! The amuse bouche was light and crisp. A great first bite. We appreciate that the oysters had been detached from the shell prior to serving (its the little things ) they were fresh and the accompanying toppings for it complimented them nicely. We had the charcuterie platter which we enjoyed (the smoked duck breast was my favorite) and I had the duck entree! Everyone in the group enjoyed their meals and drinks! Service: I want to note that our server was fabulous as well as the whole staff! They were extremely accommodating to our one year old and gave detailed descriptions of all that was on the board. I notice that they were busy and possibly understaffed but the one downside to the service aspect was that they were a little slow and we had to ask to have our plates removed from the table. Ambiance: warm and welcoming. A cozy atmosphere. I'd also like to note that both the women's and men bathrooms had changing tables that were padded, which is something we've grown to appreciate in restaurants. Overall the experience was grand without being either hoity or toity

Stephanie D.

Yelp
We came here twice during our Asheville visit. Once for brunch and again for dinner. You'll definitely need to make reservations for dinner on the weekend during peak season. If not, you can walk in right when they open and snag a seat at the bar. Enjoyed the food. Great ambiance as well. The chestnut Rueben was pretty good. The 4 oz petite filet is the perfectly sized proportion for a woman. I'd recommend giving this place a shot!

Terry S.

Yelp
Good food. Great service. Lobster Bisque to die for - esp outside of Maine. Parking can be a PITA but where isn't it in downtown AVL. Can't get a table - sit at the bar with Jay and enjoy.

Kristen T.

Yelp
Our visit to Chestnut, albeit brief, was phenomenal. The brevity of our brunch was because of my daughter and had nothing to do with Chestnut. I made a reservation and specified we needed a high chair. Upon arrival we were brought to our table and the high chair was already there with a kids menu and some crayons. It was so thoughtful of them to have it ready for us. Service was warm and friendly, the food came out so quickly, and it was all absolutely delicious. We ended up having to take the food to go because my toddler was having a fit, but we ate our brunch in the parking lot as soon as we walked across the street and I was so disappointed we couldn't enjoy this from inside the restaurant. The staff made sure we had everything we need to eat (condiments, cutlery, napkins). I will not forgot the hospitality we received. If you haven't visited, you absolutely need to! We will definitely return when we are back in Asheville!

Ava G.

Yelp
OVERHYPED! For having such a high rating with many reviews, and getting recommendations from people in Asheville, I expected more. First of all we were sat 20 minutes past our reservation time. Ambiance inside is nice and service is great though! My cocktail was good but small for the price. I do appreciate them having unique seasonal cocktails. The salad was okay, not as good as any I make at home. The fried green tomatoes were the highlight! It tasted like grilled cheese. The filet was ordered medium but came definitely medium rare. A place this pricy should cook steak the way it is ordered! Besides that, the dish was great but small for the price too. All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to return here but I'm glad I tried it. Perhaps it will leave more of an impression on you!

Mike B.

Yelp
So, I am 61 and have a lifelong passion for breakfast. This place is too fancy and has limited "breakfast" options. There are no ordering "sides" of whatever you want. That being said, this place is awesome and the Sunday Brunch was unstoppable. They have a limited cocktail menu but a full bar and we started with two cocktails and two coffees for the 4 of us. We did make reservations and I want to stress YOU NEED TO MAKE BRUNCH RESERVATIONS! They even had a few "Reserved" signs at places at the bar. The cocktails and coffee were all great. My daughter and son in law are coffee elitists. My wife and I are cocktail elitists. My wife had the Bloody Mary which was excellent and had crisp bacon that stayed crisp even when dunked. My Old Fashioned was also very good. They asked my preference for rye and I personally think that when making an old fashioned it does not matter but they used good booze, rather than rail booze and I really enjoyed it. I also ordered an ice tea and it was a strong black tea, not fruit flavored and it was very good and they also offered the hated "sweet tea". I was interested but did not bite on either of their hot tea options as I had had tea earlier. We ate a noon brunch and brought a 9 week old grandchild in a stroller and they were able to park it at the end of our table in a nook and it worked perfectly. Sadly we decided to be pigs and ordered 4 small plates and 4 entrees. We had a cinnamon donut thing, Cajun biscuits and gravy (andouille) with sausage and two lobster bisques. All were delicious and filling and made us question our choices of having ordered more food but when it came it was excellent. Huevos Ramcheros, some vegetable thing my son in law ordered, I got the breakfast sandwich and my daughter ordered shrimp and grits. Each entree was skillfully prepared and served hot and we ate a disgusting amount of food. Service was prompt, polite and super professional. Bathrooms were clean (the whole place was clean and charming) and I would rate it as the best brunch I have ever consumed. I tend to over rate places and often give an undeserved 4 stars but Chestnut earned the 5 star and though I live 9 hours from Asheville, if I am ever within two hours on a Sunday morning I will try and make reservations and go. It was... and we hate to use this k we used word...AMAZING.

William L.

Yelp
Service and kitchen are first rate. Always a fun time and interesting choices. 85 character reviews are a chore for the succinct.

Susan W.

Yelp
Great all around menu, ambiance, service and bar location was so fun. Had it all from cheese board to dessert.

Harold B.

Yelp
The brunch/lunch hours are very convenient. We had lobster bisque and it didn't disappoint. The flavor was great, portion size good and it even had real lobster pieces. Definitely will try other dishes next time too.

Dale C.

Yelp
Perfect meal and service. Terrific date night meal. Asheville downtown vibe and foodie dinner.
