After a long workday, this is exactly the kind of place I crave. I went to Chew Fun mainly for their Hunan rice noodles (which are already a comfort food for me), but this time I tried their upgraded duck snacks — the plum duck and satay duck. The duck skin was noticeably crispier, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. Speaking of the noodles — whether you go for soup or dry mix, they’re packed with flavor. The broth is rich and warming, and the dry version is coated in a fragrant, spicy sauce. Perfect after a stressful day. Also, no service charge, which is always appreciated in London. Friendly service, relaxed vibe, and genuinely satisfying food. Definitely a solid spot if you’re looking for something comforting and full of flavor.

Had a great meal at Chew Fun. We ordered the double beef pho (shin & flank), which was rich, umami-packed and deeply comforting — full of flavour without being overpowering. The succulent fried chicken was a real highlight: perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Casual atmosphere, satisfying portions and food that really hits the spot. Would happily come back.

Chew Fun has been my go-to rice noodle spot in London for years. The signature triple beef noodle is a must-try – rich broth, generous portions, and addictive chilli. The seasonal lamb noodle soup is deeply comforting with no gamey taste at all. Crispy chicken and desserts are great too. No service charge, pet-friendly, and always warm and welcoming. A true hidden gem in East London that feels like home. 🍜💛

Really enjoyed my meal here. The rice noodles were comforting, the broth was flavourful, and the tofu skin came in super big pieces—very satisfying. Staff were friendly and the service felt warm. Simple, tasty, and worth coming back for.

Decoration is very simple, but the food is surprisingly delicious. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly prepared with care. The chefs are very good. The staff were calm, polite and very kind. They were friendly without trying too hard, and they made us feel comfortable and welcome.

Amazing 🤩 rice noodles shop best in east London. Don’t missed their triple beef. So many beef, definitely worth it. Perfectly cooked rice noodles. Mixed with their special soup sauce. The coconut satay chicken is unbelievable tasty. I can’t imagine this is from a noodle shop. Perfect grilled, tasty satay sauce on top.

I came here for the rice noodle and actually totally impressed by the satay sauce chicken and deep fried taro cake. Highly recommend to try them out!

Take all my stars away for the food because it was A-plus without a doubt, with everything that I have tasted as out of this world, totally reminding me of home in so many ways. The taste was flavorful. The portion size was generous. The price was reasonable. The hole-in-the-wall vibe was wholesome. And the fact that they straight up started talking to me in Mandarin was like... yeah y'all are totally authentic. I don't really have stuff to say about the individual dishes because everything that I have attached to this review is a hit, and for anyone coming through, it will pretty much just be a choice of preference on the meat included in the noodles. Whichever type of meat one likes will be the noodles that one should end up going with. I chose the beef flank one, and there was just a lot of tender beef flank included in my broth and I was happily eating everything and drinking the broth ferociously. You just can't go wrong with whichever you choose. This would definitely be a place that I would recommend anyone around the area! 10 out of 10 without a doubt.

This is a very small restaurant. I found the menu somewhat difficult to understand. I wasn't sure what ingredients were already in each dish or which ones we should add from the list of toppings. It took a while to get our order taken correctly, but in the end our group of five left happy after eating delicious noodle bowls.

Having been to Xi'An Biang Biang Noodles, Noodle And Beer and now Chew Fun, I'm starting to think this small section of restaurants close to Liverpool Street can lay claim to the title of "London's China Town". The food at all three feel real and authentic with dishes far removed from the sweet and sour beige-ness that Leicester Square by and large offers. I ordered the following: - Mixed Triple Beef Fun - Sweet Potato Noodles with Soup - Sanpin Fun - Pickled Cowpea As a general comment, barring the additional pickled cowpea everything comes as part of the order. It's essentially like a Chinese Subway where you construct your meal from base to garnish. This has most of what you would want from a noodle dish: spice, sourness, saltiness and an outrageously good umami feel from what tasted like yellow bean sauce. The sides can be dipped into or mixed into your broth and in combination with the noodles, meat and peanuts are a delight. Of the meats, the tripe wins hands down for nailing a not-too-chewy texture. The chilli oil deserves plaudits too for having a lovely acidity. What holds this back are forgiven in the bigger picture but they are things that could be addressed. The dish arrived hot but not piping hot and as a result leads to a meal which is relatively tepid after a short while. The noodles and meats are not spectacular which are things that any noodle bar needs to nail also. I suspect the latter wasn't helped by the temperature issue because red meat gone cold can easily turn to rubber. One last gripe is that there were a few appetising things on the menu which were not available including an alternative chilli oil and a beancurd side. Considering we arrived early on a Saturday late afternoon, such things should ideally be served. With all being said however, Chew Fun is a restaurant I will find an excuse to come to Liverpool Street for. The combination of everything you are given amounts to a delicious meal and a truly emptied bowl; you simply cannot waste anything. I was full and very content upon leaving and all for a very reasonable price also.

Great place for (rice) noodles. You can decide between many type of meats and having your noodles with or without broth. The noodles and toppings are very tasty and priced more than fairly considering quality and quantity. Service is very nice and the restaurant is cool.
