The 19 Best Restaurants in Seychelles | Eater

"Set on Takamaka beach in southwest Mahé, Chez Batista makes for one of the island’s more rustic outdoor dining experiences with thatched roofing and sand-covered floors. While the restaurant does serve a la carte lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, come for the popular Creole buffet on Sundays between 1 and 3 p.m. when locals and tourists rub elbows over a crash course in Seychellois Creole cuisine. Expect a hodgepodge of curries (fish, bat, you name it), grilled fish and meats, chutneys (shark, papaya, salted fish), rougail saucisse (sausage in tomato sauce), and a few desserts such as la daube banane (banana or plantain cooked in spiced coconut milk). Come with an insatiable appetite because you’ll need it. Once you’ve had your fill, grab a SeyBrew, stumble down onto the breathtaking beach just below the deck, and lie down until it’s time to eat again." - Steven Rioux

Very quiet private hotel on west coast of Mahé with excellent view of the the Takamaka Bay and Beach, savory rich breakfast only, turtle rescue, private waterfront pool and lots of beautiful nature around. Though lenghty to reach by airport and non fortified road to the resort itself, its a warm welcoming place to calm down, bei in silence and jad dropping views. We had the Senior Suite and are satisfied to find a bathtub, walk in shower and fridge in there. The highlight is the balcony to sun bath or massage. Restaurant Staff friendly (Marie-Anne?).

Its a real paradise. We were there for two nights. Amazing stay. The sea view rooms are the best. Food is expensive at the restaurant. Takamaka beach is beautiful, serene , calm and scenic. Soft sand beach with beach front view restaurant and stay. The host also arranged a car for us from the airport, the host manager was kind and friendly.

The property is down south and is quite distant from the airport and Victoria city. The hotel staff are very friendly and they always greet you with a smile. The food is great, and they are courteous enough to give a free basket of garlic bread with garlic sauce which tastes excellent. The rooms (garden view) are basic and are built old style. The lights are dim and due to the proximity with the garden there can be few tiny spider spotting. The city and the island itself almost closes by sunset and so does the reception. There’s no staff available at the reception and then it becomes difficult to contact anyone. No intercoms in room. The venue is great if you want to spend a vacation by staying in at property and enjoying the beach alongside it.

I would like to share some feedback regarding our dinner experience last night at your restaurant. We ordered the whole grouper and lamb curry, but the waitress mistakenly brought us the order from another table instead. When she placed the dishes, she only mentioned “fish” and “curry,” so we assumed it was our order and started eating. After about ten minutes, we realised that the dishes were not what we had ordered and that there had been a mix-up with the other table. It was already late, and we were quite tired after the flight, so we decided to keep the dishes that were served. However, what disappointed us most was that the waitress never came to apologise or offer any kind of solution. When we asked for the bill, we were charged the full amount. We politely asked if a discount could be considered given that we hadn’t received what we ordered and that the service was not handled appropriately, but we were told “no” because we had eaten the food. We understand that mistakes can happen, but we would have appreciated a more understanding and professional response from your staff. I would be grateful if you could look into this matter and let us know how you intend to address it.

Beautiful spot to spend vacation: sandy beach, stunning sunsets 😍, clean swimming pool. It is a quiet place, not very crowded. The restaurant had a great ocean view, the seafood salad 🥗 is a must try! So tasty! There's a small place for the big tortoises. On Sundays there's a Creole buffet with live music. There was plenty of food and it was really tasty 😋. You can also rent a car from the hotel.

The location is amazing and the view from the rooms with a balcony quasi direct on the beach are amazing. Just for that, I would go again. BUT! - Cleanliness was... adequate, not more. - we had only one armchair in our room for two (and it was so HUGE that no second one could have fit in) - we had only one soft drink glass in our room for 2 (of course we asked for, and got, another one, no big deal, but it shows carelessness) - the fridge broke down and it was hard work to convince them to replace it (after they "tried" to repair it twice) - reception is usually empty. Once you know where the computer room with air-con is, no problem, you know where to knock to get help, but it takes a few days to get it ;) - for reasons known only to them, they took my key away. Twice. You are advised to ALWAYS leave your key at the reception desk when you leave, and then... you come back and have to wait while they locate your key. And yes, of course, the cleaning staff have their own key, so it wasn't that. - the restaurant is good, the staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful, but the prices are really high. Well, the portions are generous, so I guess that point is not too bad. So, all in all, a nice place which is not-so-professionally run. We didn't mind all that much, and would recommend the place anyway, but at 195e per night (the sea-front rooms / there are cheaper ones), we would have appreciated more professionalism.

It's a very lovely place to stay at. We enjoyed our honeymoon there so much, with the amazing view, private beach and pool, friendly staff and specially Sabrina and Shannon who made our vacation even better with their smile and helpful advices . The room was clean and spacious, their Sunday's open buffet with the live band is something you can not miss !!
